Best Weston need to invest in this hotel, it could be good. I travel for work a lot, this has to be among the worst. Positives: Clean beds and comfy to sleep in. Bathroom was ok too. The staff are very friendly, the reception, restaurant and cleaning team all smiled and helped where needed. Breakfast was hot and well cooked. Negatives: Although the adverts say this hotel has a pool it has been closed over a year with no intension of re-opening it (long enough to have metal signs made up) We went to this hotel so the kids could swim, although the hotel can get free access to the community pool next door this is quite restrictive on times and on Sundays the kids pool is closed (or was when we went anyway) This hotel clearly needs a full revamp, water damaged carpets everywhere, common areas that although were clean just look dirty and old. There was also small undisclosed renovations going on while we were there, luckily they were not intrusive but would have been nice to be prewarned. The rooms are boiling, there is a hot pipe that runs through every room which can’t be turned off, the rooms have no AC and only a small window. It was very hot all night long. In peak summer it will be unbearable. Food rating of 1 Made a complaint and was promised a call or email follow up within 3 days but heard nothing.

The breakfast was decent (eggs rubbery however), but a great selection. The room was clean, with two bathrooms (one disabled access and one without). There was people running up and down corridors at one point at night and slamming doors and knocking, on the upstairs floor. but the reception didn’t answer when I called down (unless they were sorting the culprits out as it did stop eventually) Bar area looked nice. We didn’t sit in it however but looked decent. The person on reception was really nice. The outside of the hotel doesn’t look appealing I’ll be honest, but it’s fine once you walk in. Car parking free once you validate your registration.

We stayed at the Best Western Aberavon Beach for 3 nights. It was a very pleasant Hotel The staff very friendly and helpful . Aidan especially on reception. We used it as a central base to be able to travel around the area eg Porthcawl The Mumbles Swansea etc which worked very well. There is a leisure centre with swimming pool next door and two very good restaurants just passed that. The Hotel itself was undergoing some refurbishment which did not impact on our stay. The breakfast is very good with a very extensive menu and the waitresses only too happy to help. We were welcomed with complimentary biscuits and refreshments in our room which was clean and comfortable .Even had a bath to my excitement. If I had to add a negative but not the hotel fault Expedia who we booked through were still advertising on their itinerary that the Hotel had pool and spa facilities for guests. It had been shut for some years now apparently. We were told by the hotel though that we could use the next door leisure centre free of charge. Slightly disappointing as we went armed with our cosi to make use of the bubbles, and were not willing to go next door for the pool. Lovely big carpark all free another bonus.

From the outside this hotel looks a little sad and inside there was some nice elements. The public area furniture for example. Dont be fooled there is NO pool although advertised and hasnt been for a long time. Service was friendly and the breakfast plentiful and we recommend booking ahead for £7pp on Hotels.com as its double at the hotel. Bed was comfortable and room basic but clean. Overall, ok price for an ok hotel.

The swimming pool wasn’t operational for quite a long time but they still claim in their website that they one. You get a voucher to use the leisure centre across bit only allowed 45 mins and there are sing lessons there whilst we just want to relax. It was really disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel. It was suppose to be a nice holiday for me & my husband but it was a real failure.

Right by the beach and although the hotels swimming pool is currently closed there was free access to the local leisure centre next door. The beach is a largely ignored gem as nice as any aeound swansea bay!

The building was very out dated. There was barely any water pressure in the showers. The whole premises had an old damp smell. Everything is very outdated. Our view was of a delapitated abandoned building through very dirty windows. The location was good, across the street from the beach. We would never stay there again. The staff was EXCELLENT!!

The outside of the hotel looks very run down, the rooms are clean, comfortable beds, however, the corridors need updating and redecorating, lovely dining room and the staff are excellent 5 stars for dining room and staff, excellent staff at the reception area too. All in all we had a lovely weekend don’t let the outside put you off

Never stayed in such a poor building. Broken windows with filthy curtains blowing out on 3rd floor. Our room stank (damp or dirty carpets?). We wanted dog friendly and close to a beach. So we got that! Staff were friendly.

The staff here are great and do their very best but the hotel is in a poor condition and the whole place smells like wet dog, especially the lifts which made me gag. This is unsurprising as it is on a beachfront and they positively encourage dogs and even have dog biscuits and a water bowl in the foyer. My first room smelled so bad I asked to change which they did and the second one was better but still pretty grim. The general condition was just grime with a thick layer of dust on the radiators and the carpets looking like they needed a good shampoo at the very least. I don't think the hoover had been in the corners for a while. However the bathroom was immaculately clean. The windows didn't open and shut very easily. Evening meal choice was not great with no fresh vegetables or salad options. Not even a jacket potato only chips. Breakfast was very good but again some fresh fruit would have been nice. Its a shame because this hotel was very busy with a lot of over 60s who seem to visit regularly so there is no excuse for not spending some money on it. If you have great staff why not make the place 100% by doing up the premises. Sorry but I won't be staying again.

Room booked via hotels.com did not exist but the hotel found a room that suited and were most helpful. Hotel still being renovated but room fresh and clean and new bathroom. Lovely entrance and public area. Overlooking the sea.

The outside of the hotel looked a bit unpleasant but inside it looked beautiful but if you looked in the rooms there were stains on the bed frames, curtains and the water pressure was awful

Traveling as a family of four with older children, no lock on bathroom doors, room with sea view was a good size but other room was a bit small for our needs. Dog was allowed which was brilliant. Room was great for a short term stay.

Stayed overnight to be close to the office. Reception is nice, clean, spacious. However there was a £10 extra charge for my pet which I only found out at check in. The room was very dated. It was extremely hot. As soon as I entered I turned the radiator to the lowest setting, opened the window as wide as possible and it was still far too warm hours later. There was an event on so the music was loud and worse from the open window. No ironing board or iron- had to request these. Brought my own water for my dog and because the room was so warm even it was roasting

Room was very basic, shower leaked and trying to get the temperature right was a nightmare. Room was too hot and the small fan supplied didnt make any difference. Carpet was stained. The wifi was incredibly weak. There was no pre warning about a function happening so had to put up with incredibly loud music late at night. Was informed due to this function we would probably struggle to get in to the resturant after 5pm. The vending machines in the lobby toilets made us question the purpose of the place. The decor in some parts looked like something from the 70s. Breakfast was good except having to wait an extra 5 minutes for the eggs to be added to the buffet. The best thing about it was its proximity to the beach. Certainly dont think it was good value for money. Wouldnt recommend a stay longer than 1 night.

The breakfast was decent (eggs rubbery however), but a great selection. The room was clean, with two bathrooms (one disabled access and one without). There was people running up and down corridors at one point at night and slamming doors and knocking, on the upstairs floor. but the reception didn’t answer when I called down (unless they were sorting the culprits out as it did stop eventually) Bar area looked nice. We didn’t sit in it however but looked decent. The person on reception was really nice. The outside of the hotel doesn’t look appealing I’ll be honest, but it’s fine once you walk in. Car parking free once you validate your registration.

On arriving in the room we noticed it was way too hot to get to sleep, Went down to reception severak times however noone was there for speak to for well over an hour , tried multiple times to call the reception with no answer. Complained about the hot room however they was unable to do anything nor offer anything .

Rain water leaking through the window, off the windowsill and onto the radiatior and floor below. Staff must have known about the issue as there was a towel already set up on the windowsil soaking up rain water. I requested to move room which they did promptly. Had to wait 5+ minutes at the bar as no one around, the person in front of me waited 10 minutes. They served the person behind me first. The food arrived and a chef came over after my food had been served and asked to take a photo of my plate as they were a trainee chef - very odd. I tried to have a shower at 6.30am and the water was stone cold. I informed reception and they said i had to leave the shower running for 10 minutes before hot water comes through. All in all, a very unrelaxing stay.

We stayed at the Best Western Aberavon Beach for 3 nights. It was a very pleasant Hotel The staff very friendly and helpful . Aidan especially on reception. We used it as a central base to be able to travel around the area eg Porthcawl The Mumbles Swansea etc which worked very well. There is a leisure centre with swimming pool next door and two very good restaurants just passed that. The Hotel itself was undergoing some refurbishment which did not impact on our stay. The breakfast is very good with a very extensive menu and the waitresses only too happy to help. We were welcomed with complimentary biscuits and refreshments in our room which was clean and comfortable .Even had a bath to my excitement. If I had to add a negative but not the hotel fault Expedia who we booked through were still advertising on their itinerary that the Hotel had pool and spa facilities for guests. It had been shut for some years now apparently. We were told by the hotel though that we could use the next door leisure centre free of charge. Slightly disappointing as we went armed with our cosi to make use of the bubbles, and were not willing to go next door for the pool. Lovely big carpark all free another bonus.

On arrival I noticed a board telling me there was no food available due to staff shortages, I had been working all day and was hungry. The receptionist was polite and helpful and gave me a list of local places for food. The room was clean and tidy, but there was a long blond hair in the sink. The Television wouldn't switch off, so I went reception and got the batteries change in the remote. In the night I could hear a dog barking, and then realised it was a dog in another room. I have dogs of my own, but I don't consider it nice to have them in a hotel like this one. The water took ages to get hot for a bath/shower.

Easy to check in, staff very friendly and helpful. Beds comfortable and allowed us to take the dog. Breakfeast was not the best weve had but ok, again staff were friendly and helpful.

The location is great . The food and service is excellent. Hotel is a little tired and has a few layers of paint . Bed was comfortable. Shower overbath was usable the water was generally hot but fluctuated. Would probably stay again as the price of the room reflected this.

Dont be thrown off by the dodgy exterior! The inside is lovely! Staff are great. Food is yummy. Just across the street from the beach, adventure park, and there is a movie theater next door. Would stay here again for sure!

We booked this as Best Western have always been a great brand, what a disaster! On arrival it looked like we’d turned up in an abandoned war zone, derelict building next door and the grounds were untended, grass not cut. Every flower bed full of weeds and the plant pots by the door just full of soil, no plants, while in the window they proudly advertise their food hygiene rating of 1!!! For a ‘3 star hotel’ the reception was impressive and as it should be but no staff and we had to wait nearly 10 minutes before somebody arrived. Hopes still high then we noticed the sign saying the pool and spa was shut for renovation, although no workmen on site. We then went to our room, which must have been OK in the 1970s when it was last decorated, to see a TV hanging at a jaunty 10 degree angle with the mounting brackets sticking out 2” on one side and 3 on the other. Luckily I had spanner’s in the boot so fixed this, heaven knows how many years it’s been like that. Our sea view did look over the sea, but also the derelict and vandalised huge old pub next door and our entertainment consisted of watching gangs of feral teens throwing glass into the flat roof on the floor below us and tearing off roof panels from the pub. What an absolute mess of a hotel.

Hotel clean and comfortable and close to where we needed to be seeing friends, nice breakfast with plenty of choice, reception area and lounge nicely done out with nice sofas, and free parking helps too and nice to see the sea from you room and staff friendly

Having stayed before and had excellent meals, was disappointed to find only very basic bar meals now srved. Breakfast was also very poor, staff unhelpful. Spa now closed, which was the main attraction of this hotel. Would not recommend this hotel t anyone now, has really gone downhill since our last visit

The breakfast wasn’t particularly warm, but the room was too warm. The hotel is looking a bit “tired” in places but it was conveniently placed and the parking was good. The staff we dealt with were all friendly. You could have more Gluten Free options on the menu.

Shame about the breakfast we wer one of the first there it was stone cold and coffie was it was nice strzinge thing though i went back fir more sausage about 15 mins later and everything was hot realy hot not dure what hsppend there ,wouldn't put me off going back though

From the outside this hotel looks a little sad and inside there was some nice elements. The public area furniture for example. Dont be fooled there is NO pool although advertised and hasnt been for a long time. Service was friendly and the breakfast plentiful and we recommend booking ahead for £7pp on Hotels.com as its double at the hotel. Bed was comfortable and room basic but clean. Overall, ok price for an ok hotel.

Wouldn’t go back, way over priced for what it is. Evening meal weren’t the best. Paid for breakfast but when went to eat it my name had already been crossed off, no breakfast. Found staff less than helpful

Only stayed one night but everything was spick and span as you’d expect. Staff were more than helpful even allowing me to check in slightly earlier than allowed. If was looking for downside would be the boarded up pub/ restaurant next door detracting from the hotel. Few weeds growing around the building if cleaned up would be more welcoming but still good value. Can’t comment on food as I ate out

We enjoyed the hotel and the location. The staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. The beach is beautiful and right outside. The room was clean. The Hotel is worn down on the outside but the room was in good shape so that was no issue for us. Only real minus was that the coffee at breakfast was nescafe. Bus stop about ten minutes away. Restaurants close by are scarce but we highly recommend eating at Remos.
