The hotel is lovely and very attractive on the inside. The outside is a little less than breathtaking and it’s on a side alley. With many European older properties there are stairs everywhere. This hotel does have a lift, however, in order to get into the front door you have to go up a set of stairs. There is no staff available to help With luggage, this made it difficult with large bags and my elderly mother.

The hotel is in a good location, and the lobby is pretty. There is no parking but they have an agreement with a garage nearby. The street the hotel is on is super narrow so even stopping to unload the luggage was an issue. There is a pretty steep set of steps to get into the lobby. There were no amenities in the hotel (no pool or spa, gym, etc) and breakfast was for additional fee. Overall, pricey hotel with very few amenities.

A nice, trafitional hotel in the center of town with a nice garden and a good breakfast

I brought the wrong keys for my padlock and was unable to get into my suitcase, however the staff were amazing and came to my rescue for which I was really grateful for as a solo traveller. The hotel is very well located to places of interest, such as Chapel of souls, Duoro river, Bolhao market. There is a small bar area and courtyard. Overall, the hotel is beautifully styled.

Nicely renovated historic hotel. Friendly staff and atmosphere. Good location. Additional comments… Cupboards and drawers in need of renovation. Garden, bar and restaurant not integrated and used to its full potential.

The access was not the best due to the road to the Hotel was under construction.

Old building with Paris styled decor. However there are two flights of steep steps to reach the check-in area and there is no ramp or bellman to help for luggages. Location is good.

Loved this place. It had so much character and was like stepping back in time except with modern amenities. My room had a balcony with view of the lovely garden and the Clerigos Tower. Air conditioned (Porto was hot). Bed was comfortable. Modern bathroom with luxurious bathsheets. Breakfast buffet was definitely worth it with many options including an espresso machine. The woman who checked me in was very helpful and friendly. The rest of the staff was nice but a little aloof - not a big deal. It's not a good place for people with mobility issues because you have a flight of stairs before you get to reception and elevator level. And noone helps you with your luggage. Also, unless you hire luxury transport, you'll get dropped a half block away (Uber). The location is great. Get a paper map. Google and Apple maps are terrible. From here I walked everywhere. There's a wonderful authentic home cooking restaurant just across the cobblestone from the hotel. Restaurants and shopping all around.

Staff at reception were very rude and unhelpful. Their bar/restaurant was unattended the whole 7 days. Rooms were to be cleaned daily. Mine was cleaned 3 times in 7 days but very basic. Sheets or linen was unchanged. Towels 3 times. I constantly asked for toilet paper as they didn’t replace. In 7 days the tea cups were not replaced or clean and no replacement of tea/coffee /sugar or any water. It was disgusting service. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Should be a one star hotel. Definitely not 4 star. Worst hotel I stayed in and I travel twice a year for last 50 years. Disgusting g service.

Clean room but the last two days they didn’t give me clean towels or clean my room. I liked that the mattress was firm and the sheets were laundered, not permanent press. The water in the shower was hot, which I loved. The hotel is located in a place where if u aren’t looking for it, u would walk on by. There were lots of restaurants near by and walking distance to shops and a market that had everything.

The rooms are very well furnished, nice and cozy, very clean. Staff is helpful, welcoming and professional. The location is central to everywhere. Highly recommended. Definitely we will stay there again.

Stylish vintage hotel in central location was ok for 3 nights. No fault of theirs, but massive construction site between nearby train station and hotel makes for rocky walking so the steep flight of stairs upon entering the hotel feels like the last straw. But staff are super nice. Unfortunately the bathroom smelled horrible, like poor venting. We asked and they did something to improve it but it was temporary. The windows open and the street is pretty quiet so it was workable but not ideal. Breakfast was good and room was large. Slim twin beds together were comfortable.

This is advertised as a 4-star hotel. However this hotel was a grave disappointment, in many ways a lower standard than 3-star hotels I've used. I will be contacting the Portuguese Tourist Board to see when they last inspected the property. Biggest issue was insufficient members of staff working at any one time, especially at Reception, and managing the breakfast. One of the receptionists even admitted to me at one point that the management need to employ more staff. The room we were initially given was OK apart from a very dirty shower. But within an hour, water was leaking from inside the top of the wardrobe, wetting our clothes. The water was leaking through a light fixture which potentially could have been very unsafe. Alerted Reception staff (on a Friday evening) but she told me she was the only staff member working at that time so she couldn't some to see it! So I had to email photos and video so that she could forward them to her manager (off-site). We were moved to the only vacant room which I was told was a similar "Superior Twin", but actually *much* smaller. Also the floor was very uneven such that the level of the beds' head was lower than that of the feet! I get the impression this room is not used much - a last resort. Never got reply to email or offered compensation. Breakfast was very disappointing. Many days we were missing items, e.g. eggs, orange juice, milk. Sometimes fresh fruit crawling with flies. Understaffed, so often no clean tables to sit at.

I stayed 3 nights in this hotel. When I first checked in, they gave me a room in the basement - one level under the main level. When I went to go check the room, I saw that there was rainwater from outside that had flooded from underneath the door into the room. There were flood bags that had already been placed on the ground to try to soak up the rainwater so they were already aware of the issue. The fact that they still assigned me this room in that condition really bothered me. The room also had a very strong mold and mildew smell. I went to reception to let them know what I saw and to change my room but they told me they couldn\'t change my room until the next day. When I asked if someone could come clean up the excess rainwater on the floor, she said "No, not until the morning" and offered me a towel to clean it myself. I was appalled. The shower floor was also dirty and there are gaps between the windows and the side walls so you can hear everything going on in your neighbours rooms. After the first night, they changed my room to the main floor and that was much better. The hotel is in a good location. I wrote an email and followed up several times with the hotel manager regarding my first nights\' stay but was ignored. Customer service at this hotel is horrible.

The hotel is in a great location for exploring the city. The staff were attentive and friendly although we were questioned before heading into breakfast and several checks were made to ensure we’d booked and paid. It seemed a little unnecessary and no apology was made that we were made to feel like we were trying to sneak in! The hotel hadn’t seen the messages I had sent prior to arrival so check in took a little while. When I first entered the room, straight away I could see the curtain hanging from the rail, I reported it in the morning and an attempt was made to put it back up but it was still allowing a lot of light into the room. Otherwise the bedroom was very comfortable. The eco bin system needs labelling! And the shower could do with a good clean, it’s very dirty in the corners and around the door.

The hotel was very tired. The shower was actually 2 feet x 2 feet. The room was not clean at all.

The check in process was great. Room was MUCH smaller than advertised (at least by 30-40 sq ft). Bathroom super tight (room 314). Hotel was clean overall. Basic. Has an issue night 2 that I was forced to book a second room - which I get. But how it was done was rude / disrespectful. There was no level of professionalism on that issue faced. Lady at checkout (Sunday) was very helpful. Kudos to her…

Large, delightful room.

Hotel is gorgeous! Breakie is good and the room a though small but pretty ok! Cons: too noisy at nite. I can’t really slp on Saturday night where people are returning after party at wee hours! The noise lasted through 4am!! Walls are thin. I can hear neighboring rooms returning as well.

Nice hotel in a good location - bathroom was a little old fashioned but a nice powerful shower. The room didn't have a safe in there which I normally like to use for keeping passports etc....

Excellent room, newly refurbished, on ground floor though, and on a Saturday night in porto it get loud on the street, up to about 5am.

Rooms were very small. No room for luggage. Very close to all things including the metro.

Some staff were amazing. Some staff need training in customer service. Rooms are super small and smaller than advertised. I was in 314 and it is much smaller than advertised. It can’t be more than 140 sq ft with advertised just under 200 sq ft. Breakfast was so so. Not worth €15 maybe €8-9 maximum.

My stay was pleasant. My only suggestion is to have someone at the desk at all times. I was already running late to catch a train to Lisbon but I couldn’t find anyone at the desk. The check out lady was in the kitchen helping to serve breakfast!

Very smooth check in. We arrived early, the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, stored our luggage, let us use their lounge .

Excellent en tout point. L’hôtel est belle, propre, bien décorée. Le personnel est souriant et aidant. Très compétent. Le lit ainsi que la literie sont très confortable et de qualité. Hôtel très bien située à distance de marche des visites touristiques, des restaurants et des bars.

The staff and service were pretty bad. We asked for an iron, but the reception told us to come downstairs to get it ourselves. Our room was not cleaned even after we put a sign on the door, and we had to ask twice to get it cleaned.

We had a lovely stay here. Our room was adorable and the staff were great. I forgot to ask her name but the evening receptionist was SO friendly and helped us book our library tickets online.

A perfect hotel with everything near. I actually did all my tourism in porto by walking.

Small hotel with a perfect location to many attractions like Clérigos tower, Lello bookstore and the Central Station. The rooms to the back is quiet and you have a nice view of the Clerigos tower. The only thing I missed in the room was a safety box. The breakfast is alright and you can have your breakfast in the garden or inside.

This hotel is newly renovated and beautiful inside. Our room was quiet and dark, and the shower was hot with good water pressure. It is on a side street as well, not the main drag, which I appreciated. The location is excellent and walkable to pretty much everything. I would definitely stay here again.

Confortable hotel in the heart of Porto. The rooms are spacious and furnished with taste, the location is excellent in the city center. Great time there!

Schönes Hotel, allerdings sehr dunkle Zimmer. Zimmer sehr hellhörig zum Gang. Oropax sind ein Muss. Frühstück schlecht (für Porto verhältnismäßig teuer, wenig Auswahl, keine Abwechslung: eine Sorte Käse, zwei Sorten Wurst, Rührei ist kein frisches Ei; aber viel Obst). Sehr schöner Garten.

I believe this place has been recently remodeled. It’s very modern, chic, and clean. The location is convenient, and it’s surprisingly not noisy in the night. The only disappointment is breakfast. $14 euro pp, you can definitely find better quality breakfast in the city.

Traveled solo. The room (single bed) was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was varied (eggs, bacon, pastries, cereal, bread, yogurts, coffee, tea, juices). The staff was quite helpful. It's at a walkable distance from lots of tourist spots and there are a lot of great restaurants and bars nearby. Great and safe area in general.

Everything about the property was excellent except the breakfast. Although not bad, it is not worth the €15. Other than that the entire stay was wonderful. The young men at the door are exceptional and very helpful! We will stay here again!
