Freys Hotel

Just know that there is no Air condition in this hotel. This may not be in issue for some but if you're looking to cool off after a day of walking around your coming back to an oven. The maintenance came up and brought me 2 air fans. Thank God I was not there longer than 2 days. The hotel rooms are unique and there are not safes deposit boxes in the room. Just an FYI. Shower pressure was really nice though. The service is hard to put your finger on. They answered every question, but it was kind of like a matter of fact. The breakfast was great and included. The room keys actual key which is trickly to carry if you don't have a purse as its bulky heart shape.

Bra läge och trevligt hotell med bra bemötande av personal. Extra plus för fin bastu och relax som vi fick boka för oss själva.

Enjoyed sauna, gym and superb breakfast! It was a great experience.

The hotel is quite old and a little dated in parts. However the room was very comfortable and quiet, looking into the little courtyard below. Location is superb - 100m from the station for the Arlanda express, bus and tram routes to all parts of Stockholm and beyond. Buffet breakfast was varied and superb, the Belgian restaurant has great food as well and the outdoor terrace is a lovely place to sit in the evening with one of dozens of powerful Belgian beers to enjoy. Staff universally friendly and helpful too - very happy with our stay, thanks!

Ett hotell i centralt läge men däremot var bilderna extremt missvisande. Vi bokade ett superium rum plus och på bilderna såg det jättefint ut. När väl på plats så var det helt annorlunda, örngott var inte tvättade och hade fläckar på sig. Det luktade väldigt unket och instängt. Möblerna var absolut inte samma som på bilden. Frukosten var inte heller bra, torrt bröd, dålig äggröra och pannkakor smakade gammalt. Hade höga förväntningar med tanke på priset vi betalade men det enda positiva var läget och även balkongen. Allt annat var verkligen inte värt pengarna.

The central station is only 1 city block from this hotel. It is quaint and an older hotel but super clean and well maintained. We loved the old world European feel. It was right by the hop on/hop off bus and convenient to all local attractions.

Badrummet behövde en rejäl städning. Ganska lyhört rum på första våningen

Allt var bra, liten detalj är att det hade nog behövts att städas i ventilation i badrum annars inget att klaga på.

Smutsigt underlakan, duschen fungerade ej och osköna kuddar.

This hotel has seen better days. The uninspired breakfast was ok, and the hidden basement gym acceptable, even though it seemed like an afterthought. I would have given this hotel a rating of 4 stars for the friendly staff and excellent location alone, but the smell of sewage in my tiny bathroom lands this review solidly on 3 stars.

The hotel is right across the road from the Arlanda Express from the airport and the main shopping street is at the other end of the street, so in a perfect location. I was in a single room with a spare bed which was small but not any smaller than other singles I've stayed in although the bathroom was very small. The room had a kettle, fridge, tv, a socket at the mirror for the hairdryer, full length mirror, but hanging space was not full length. The bed was more comfortable than it looked. No safe in room but safety deposit boxes downstairs at reception. Hotel was clean, felt safe as a single female, staff all pleasant. Breakfast lots of choice but maybe could have been hotter, the eggs were warm but not hot. Ate in the restaurant downstairs which was also very good. The only downside was the heating in the room - just a dial and I couldn't get it right had to keep fiddling with the control as either too hot or too cold. Would recommend Stockholm as a city break and this hotel is perfect for a few day away.

Rent och fräscht hotellrum. Utmärkt med kaffekokare och kaffe och the på rummet.

Bra läge, tyst rum och skön säng. Trevlig reception. Okey frukost utan att sticka ut. För små badrum och dusch. Jag är varken stor eller tjock men funderade på om en stor / tjock person kan duscha där 😅!

Perfect location for access to the train station. Wifi was fast, room was small but comfortable, slightly weird shower. The big negative was terribly noisy plumbing. I heard water running through the pipes all night. It wasn't consistent like white noise, but went up and down in volume continuously.

Zimmer groß, etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber ausreichend. Lage unschlagbar! Direkt in der Innenstadt, die Central Station 2 Min. entfernt. Genial!

The pros first, the location is very convenient and you can easily walk to almost all attractions in the city, the central station and arlanda express station is within 600 and 200 metres resp. There are many excellent restaurants around the hotel as well as grocery store and convenience stores. Breakfast is free and has a decent range of foods. They have about a dozen types of cereal and breads. But their hot food selection is basic and does not change. Rooms are warm and there is also a portable radiator provided. The lighting in the room is bright and way better than most other hotels. Another feature is the many electrical outlets they have around the room. These are not globally compatible so bring plugs for Sweden. Cons: WiFi is very slow so if you want to work or watch shows on streaming services, it is a pain. The rooms are very small (expected) but their bed is horrible. The mattress was old and lumpy and just 3 inches (see pic) which made sleeping not just uncomfortable but painful too. Rooms have a small fridge and microwave. Laundry service is per item and is very expensive.

Slitet rum, mycket färg som hade skrapats bort och trasiga kakelplattor mm. Väldigt lyhört från korridoren och de andra rummet.

Staff and location were excellent. However, room was very small - I thought I would knock the TV off the wall squeezing past the bed. Wouldn’t recommend for a couple. Room was facing a courtyard/driveway. Noisy 24hrs. No air con so had to keep windows open and try to sleep with all the noise. It was ok but wouldn’t stay there again unless I had a room with a different outlook.

Amazing experience - it’s in a perfect location, a stones throw away from the city centre train station and all the shops. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful, even when I lost my bag they found it for me. Rooms are a bit on the small side but for the price I can’t complain. Beds were comfortable and the space worked wonderfully for me and my daughter. Would absolutely recommend and stay here again.

Trevligt hotell med vänligt bemötande. Rummet var fint och rent. Frukostbuffén var bra. Vi kom ett par timmar för tidigt men det var okej att få checka in och få tillgång till rummet ändå. Perfekt för vår del. Då vi kunde lämna bagaget på rummet och slippa släpa runt det på stan.

Personalen i restaurangen både under kvällen och under frukosten var bedrövlig. Har aldrig varit med om något liknande

Bra läge och verkligen en hotell med karaktär. Frukosten öppnade precis när vi behövde gå till tåget. Fick hjälp av personalen på frukosten att packa och ta med en liten påse. Verkligen uppskattat!

Trevlig personal och bemötande.

We arrived in the evening and I was already on medication due to some medical condition. Olivia the front desk girl on duty greeted us and she was very helpful in making sure I was fully comfortable with the room and etc. I left a short note thanking her effort and please make sure that the excellent behavior in ensuring guests felt at home never go unnoticed. This certainly exemplified your hotel welcoming message “Making everyone feel comfortable”! Everything is just great about the hotel.

Nice hotel in one of the typical old buildings in Stockholm City Center. The rooms are however not old at all and of very nice and feel-good quality. Staff upon check-in was a little bit rude and impolite but that may just have been a spur of the moment.

Ligger bra, nära centralstationen och Arlanda express. Frukosten lagom stor och fräsch. Personalen i receptionen trevliga o hjälpsamma. Personalen i matsalen inte lika mycket, stressiga och inte hjälpsamma. Men skulle kunna bo där igen och ge dem en ny chans.

ストックホルム中央駅。特に空港から直行のアーランダエクスプレスの駅から出て、まっすぐ歩けばすぐに到着。アクセスは最高に良い。市庁舎やガムラスタンまで徒歩圏内。駅からホテルな方向をそのまま進めば歩行者天国のショッピング街。建物も歴史ある建物をリニューアルしており趣も最高。一階にベルギー系のレストランを併設しておりいざとなったら食事もここで。ちなみに朝食はここで。7月で気候も良かったので外で食べた。カモメが狙っているので朝は注意。場所柄、スペースが狭いことだけが難点かな？それでもコスパは良い方

We'd a perfectly pleasant 3 night stay here. We had just come from 5 nights in the Arctic & so had quite a bit of baggage with us. One of the main reasons I chose the hotel was due to its location near transport hubs. It is just a couple of minutes - straight across the road from the Arlanda Express stop so that worked perfectly for us. There is also an access lift to the metro beside the hotel which is handy if using it. It's also walkable to Gamla Stan & Museum Island. There is also a good range of restaurants within a few minutes' walk. Our room was quite small - which is quite common in European capital cities but well-equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer. Breakfast was good with a nice selection of hot & cold options. Staff were also helpful

I had a wonderful stay at Freys Hotel last weekend. The property has a lovely, traditional feel while being situated in a modern part of town. The location couldn’t have been better — directly opposite Central Station and the Arlanda Express, with bars and restaurants close by but without any intrusive noise. My room was beautiful: clean, luxurious, and with exceptionally comfortable beds. The staff were welcoming and attentive, which really added to the experience. Breakfast was very enjoyable, with a good continental selection; although the vegetarian options were a little limited, it was still a satisfying start to the day. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and Freys Hotel will definitely be my first choice for future visits to Stockholm.

Strålande bra läge mittemot Arlanda Express och ändå på en lugn sidogata utan trafikbuller. Nära till allt, inte minst pendeltågstationen. Prisvärt och mysigt hotell men ganska litet rum, allt som behövs fanns dock där. Dålig luft i restaurangen, matos i receptionen. De borde kolla upp ventilationen i lokalerna i entréplan.

Great spot to stay close to attractions, walkable close to train station.

I’ve been staying at this hotel in Stockholm since the 90s and I always come back to it. I love its boutique type feeling and the location is fabulous as it’s opposite the Arlanda Express and has a metro stop around the corner. It’s also close to Drottninggatan a street that has many shops and leads you to Gamla Stan. The rooms are lovely and clean with powerful showers and there is plenty of choice at breakfast. Whilst I have stayed at others places in Stockholm, I tend to always come back to the Freys for its great location.

Great location near to Arlanda Express. Breakfast buffet was very good with plenty of choice. Friendly reception staff. Baggage storage before check in and after check out.

Bra läge. Bra storlek på rum, bra utrustat med stor kyl, högtalare och chrome cast. Besviken på frukosten som höll väldigt enkel standard. Önskemål skulle vara frukt (melon, annanas mm), pannkakor eller våfflor, färskare bröd mm.

Frukostpersonalen skulle kunna ha bättre koll på allergener och korskontaminering. Bad om eget smör under frukosten då jag är glutenintolerant. När personalen kom ut fick jag laktosfritt smör, med kommentaren att smör inte innehåller gluten. Vilket absolut är sant, men om det står smör 20 cm från en stor mängd bröd som skärs upp, med smörknivar i som används för att smöra sagt bröd, då är det inte glutenfritt längre. Personalen var inte otrevlig, men det är något som man bör ha kännedom kring om man jobbar med livsmedel. Kommenterade för personalen ang att dörren till rummen vad svår att öppna, rent omöjlig om man inte hade båda händer tillgängliga, då man behövde både trycka på dörren för att kunna vrida om låset, för att samtidigt trycka ner handtaget för att sedan kunna dra upp dörren. Fick till svar att deras dörrar var så. Jag tycker inte att det är okej att känna till ett problem, men nonchalant strunta i det. Jag kunde hantera detta, genom att ställa ifrån mig all mina saker på golvet för att kunna låsa upp och öppna dörren. Men hur är det med den äldre personen som har artrit eller reumatism? Eller föräldern som samtidigt behöver bära på sitt barn? Ska de behöva be om hjälp för att över huvud taget komma in på sitt hotellrum. Jag förstår att det är en kostnad att behöva byta ut alla dörrar, men det är en otroligt basic grej att man ska kunna öppna dörren till sitt hotellrum. I övrigt var det ett helt okej rum, det var rent och utbudet på frukosten var helt okej.

Ett mysigt, familjärt hotell i absoluta centrum av Stockholm. Rent och snyggt i lite gammaldags stil, fortfarande användande av fysisk metallnyckel. Trevlig och tillmötesgående personal. Snabb check-in. Bekväma sängar och bra badrum. Mycket fin frukost med stor variation.
