What makes me see one hotel as superior to another begins with how you are treated at the very start. This is one of those hotels. Those behind the reception desk actually answer your questions, offer solutions to your needs and made me feel they sincerely wanted to (and did) help. The entire staff, throughout my 3 day stay, maintained that same level of care. They advised on which taxis were 'honorable'; booked tours; even offerred to take me on a tour when a guide wasn't available. It was just unlike any hotel I have ever stayed. Oh, they have coffee at all hours - even for those unfortuate travelers who have early moring flights. Their Tavern Restaurant is fun for lunch and dinner and thier breakfast is impressive. It a great hotel on a colorful street where the locals come and sit at the park across the street. You'll be hard pressed to find such a wonderful place when you visit Stockholm!

We stayed 2 nights, had booked a deluxe double room with a balcony. But was offered an upgrade to room with a terrace (slight increase in price). Great room, the staff were helpful, friendly and attentive! Great area, highly recommend Hotel Rival. We enjoyed the breakfast. Traveled from the US, would stay here again if we visit Stockholm!
