Mälardrottningen Yacht Hotel

The location was great - very easy walk to the old town. Breakfast was fabulous. Plenty of options for sitting inside and out. Do not expect any early checkin but they have a luggage room available. Take note that there are very narrow stairs with no elevator. The rooms can get stuffy but they did provide a fan. Rooms were very quiet. We would definitely stay here again.

Leider hatte bei meinem Aufenthalt das Restaurant geschlossen. Ansonsten perfekte Unterkunft auf einem Schiff wenn man nicht mobilitätseingeschränkt ist. Super zentral gelegen und mit herrlichem Ausblick!

This is a unique stay in a fabulous city. The staff were kind and most accommodating. Of note (these are things to expect) that add to the charm of this stay. The yacht/boat is almost 100 years old, expect some normal wear. The renovations done recently have done well to update the setting. There is a lift for luggage. If you are in a party of 2 or more, don't lug your items up the gangway/walkway to reception. One person can check-in, while the other waits at the door immediately off the paved walkway, and bring the luggage through the door on ground level. There is going to be noise and light at night time, it's a city, you are staying on a boat that boasts over 50 rooms. Bring a sleeping masking and ear plugs. Those 2 items are crucial for travel regardless of your choice in lodging. The breakfast offerings were outstanding. The restaurant food was divine, as was the view to enjoy while dining. Another guest review complained about staff eating in the same location as the guests. How disheartening it is that someone could be bothered by such a thing. We were pleased to share our space with the staff. The location was a less then 10 minute walk from the commuter train stop at Gamla Stan. You can leave your luggage for free there before and after check-in/check-out. There are plenty of shops and eateries nearby. Bottomline, would stay again!

In general it was an amazing location, walking distance to the city center, view and great breakfast. Interior very cozy. In term of comfort, the locks and the app are not sync so it takes more than a few attempts to open the door.

The location is excellent. Please note that this is a boat hotel. The room was good and clean. The beds were ok, but not especially comfortable. The breakfast was ok. The hotel has a parking lot right in front and the parking fee is very reasonable for the location. Overall we have enjoyed our stay!

It was a unique experience. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast got us ready for the day, and the dinner menu was very tasty. Things to note about the design: the shower/bathroom was cramped in our suite, stairs are steep and narrow. This would not be best for someone with mobility issues. They are doing renovations so some areas still show wear while others have been spruced up. However, these are not deterrents, the location, view and experience were great. I will definitely stay here again.

The location is excellent and novel. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice. Generally quiet except for a motor or pump running at night which made sleeping difficult a couple of times. The online check in was a waste of time.

It was dripping dirty rusty water from the ceiling. We reported it first morning but no action was taken

Fint opphold, men på badet lå det igjen undertøy fra tidigere gjest, og vannglasset til tannpusset var brukt. Ellers var det hyggelig å sitte ute på dekk på kvelden, og frokosten var god ☺️

The place is great with the view , close to old town walking distance. Nice Breakfast ! Only thing not ok is the smell , I stayed just for a night in small room on 1st floor, I can smell bad pipe or something bad like stinky smell. I just tried to sleep a a night so didn’t want to complain or change the room. I don’t know is it only my room that near the toilet pipe or something. Overall , great place to stay. Good experience!! View from the small window hole is so beautiful!

The location can’t be beat! Beautiful views, right on the water, a short walk to Old Town and the Gamla Stan metro. The yacht itself is in dire need of an upgrade. While conceptually cool (who doesn’t want to say they slept in a yacht in Stockholm?), the rooms and facilities are so old. If you’re 35 and value sleep, do NOT stay here. The walls are so thin, I could hear snoring, toilets flushing, coughing, doors slamming, etc. The halls are so narrow, that if a guest is checking in/out super early/late, you can hear every step they take through the halls, the loud bangs of the suitcases and doors shutting, and every word said. I brought it up to the receptionist the next morning, and all she said was “all the rooms are like that.” The walkways ramp up to the reception area/front entrance was also pretty scary - it’s over water and slightly steep if you’re dragging up all your luggage. I was terrified something would fall out of my bag straight into the Baltic. The cleanliness was also less than average. Super STICKY carpet and stains on my walls (I took pictures). The room was so hot, it smelled musty, and there was no way to adjust the temp.

Very disappointed with this property. I was so excited to stay in a 101 year old ship and Gamla Stan, but upon arriving in the rain late at night we couldn’t access the building using the “aeroguest” app we were told to download to make things easier and skip going to the reception in the restaurant/bar. One of us had to stand outside in the rain with all the luggage while the other ran up to get real keys, which presented an issue and required a manager. We get to our room, a tiny bunk bed options for $245 a night, and we’re immediately hit with the unpleasant smell of rot. Within minutes we noticed the port hole window was leaking from the rain and pooling cups of water that was then running down the wall onto the desk we sat our purses on. We had to utilize our shower towels to stop the flooding. We enjoyed drinks at the bar with a pleasant bartender, however when he asked how the room was and we mentioned the flooding and using our towels to stop it he said “there’s nothing I can do about that.” He didn’t even offer new towels to shower. We went to bed but were unable to get any sleep because the cabin doors kept slamming shut through out the night at all hours. Then by 9am the cleaning crew started vacuuming the hall, slamming the vacuum into the front of the doors. I finally gave up trying to sleep and got up for breakfast around 10am but it was difficult to find a clean table. Dirty dishes/cups were left everywhere and I had to clean off a table by moving dishes.

Veldig trivelig skipshotell, veldig hyggelig betjening. Eneste jeg syntes var litt dårlig var lukten på lugarene. Fikk byttet cabin på grunn av lukt. Lugar nummer 2 luktet nesten like surt. Kanskje en ide å få renset gulvteppene :-) ellers veldig fin plass :-)

Mysigt boende med bra läge. Bra frukost. Negativt va väldigt ojämnt varmvatten i duschen och svårt att få bra temperatur på rummet.

Perfekte Lage. Das Zimmer ist hellhörig, die Belüftung ein wenig laut. Es war zu warm in der Kabine. Das Frühstück war gut, es war für jeden was dabei.

Rent och fräscht men väldigt varmt i hytter i vattenlinjen.

Rymligare rum än vi trodde, absolut inte 6 kvm, snarare 9. Bra frukost. Väldigt branta trappor.

Frukosten var jättebra och personalen var trevlig och serviceminded. Vi bodde i redarhytten och den skulle behöva en liten uppfräschning. Sängsrna var ok men toaletten/dushen var väldigt liten.

We were impressed with the conversion of the ship to a hotel. Breakfast was good. Nice location. The room was extremely small for 2 people. The view was a very small port high almost too high to see out of. Unique stay but would not do it again.

Staff was extremely nice. Views were good. Restaurant/bar was excellent. Biggest issue was there was a slight smell in the bathroom and the room had no real HVAC (it was cold).

Everthing very good Only problem was the app key acess on your mobile which took a long time to open doors or not at all Staff very good and gave me a card for opening doors

Easy access to bus train walking distance yo shops is very good but lots of cobblestones breakfast very satisfying lots to choose from and great strong coffee. Staff friendly

Bra läge, helt ok standard och rent och fint. Väldigt bra frukost med trevlig personal. Blev krångligt med rummen när vi skulle checka in och bemötandet från receptionisten som jobbade då var inte jättetrevligt.

Very nice. Quirky. Excellent location. Service varied by who was on… bar/restaurant has a lovely 1920s feel restoration & character. Cabins need a bit of love (snag jobs/touch up). Fun overall.

I throughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It is close to the central rail station and the main city sights. Breakfast was excellent.

Perfect location in old Stockholm, a short walk from the train station and five minute walk to the heart of the old town center. Great views, a perfect place to enjoy a glass of beer or wine on the top deck after a day of sightseeing. Excellent breakfast, too.

Ideally located minutes away from the historic centre of Gamla Stan (Old Stockholm) and within easy walking distance of all of the other attractions, such as museums and theme park, that you’ll want to see and visit. Also within easy walking distance if you arrive using the bus from Arlanda airport to Central bus station (Centralstation) the main transport terminal in Norrmalm at Vasagaten. The hotel is full of charm in its own right and it helps that all of the staff are friendly and willing to help. We arrived at about 1pm in the morning after a delayed flight and called to say as much, which was greeted with a “no problem,” response and “we’ll be waiting for you when you get here’” which they were. The buffet breakfast has a whole host of choice from cereal to cold meats to bacon and scrambled eggs as well as a whole host of other goodies in/between to feast on. You won’t go hungry! We booked the Christmas buffet which was fantastic and a great way to end our holiday. We booked into the Captain’s room which was clean and cosy with a near water level view across the water towards Sodermalm. The ship itself is moored in a nice quiet location just behind Riddarholmen Church. Can’t wait to go back!

Nice location and near to the main attraction within the city.

Great location, lovely comfy beds, perfectly formed en-suite and breakfast was plentiful with great coffee. Only slight niggles were the shower was tempramental - great pressure but temperature was inconsistent and the Bar wasn't open. We could see there was renovation work going on so assume we were just unlucky with our timing on that front .

Rolig område, hyggelig betjening, enkel men god frokost. Litt lytt mellom lugarene og litt ustabil temperatur i dusj. Godt trykk på vannet i dusjen. Veldig sjarmerende overnatting som vi sterkt kan anbefale.

We booked this hotel, for my birthday, and as always like a bar and a restaurant. Which this hotel advertises! There is no bar and the restaurant only opens on a weekend. We left on the Saturday. I am absolutely shocked that they can get away with advertising a bar and restaurant, when there is clearly none.

Excellent stay here with a friend. We had the double with Sea View. Spend the extra money for sea view. The double is really a bunk bed which works out fine for two friends. The room and bathroom are very small as you would expect. Very clean. Plenty of places on the board to relax. Incredible deck for drinks, very unique place. Don’t stay here if you want the Hilton. Stay here for the experience. Great breakfast. Great value for money overall

We stayed here for two nights in November The hotel was very centrally located, about a 20-minute walk from the central train station and about a 5-minute walk from Gamla Stan We were made very welcome on our arrival. Our cabin/bedroom took a bit of getting used to as we had just come from a luxury hotel in Copenhagen. It was quite small with two bunk beds, a small desk and enough storage for our cloths. The bath and toilet had been freshly refurbished and were fine, although a little small. The WIFI worked well Breakfast was very good, with a good selection of items both hot and cold We also had dinner in their restaurant one evening which was excellent – we had herring, meatballs and apple pie – we unfortunately missed this Christmas menu that starts later in the month So by the end of our stay, we had grown fond of the boat and would certainly stay there again

This is a wonderful, quirky place to stay in Stockholm. Very close to Gamla Stan which was great. The ship has lots of interesting history and art deco features. Food in restaurant was excellent !
