We had a great stay at Hotel Piroscafo. The location is excellent, close to shops and restaurants, and the rooms are quaint and very clean. Parking was easy with their arrangement at a nearby underground lot (about a 6-minute walk), with in-and-out privileges billed directly by the hotel—very convenient. The included breakfast was excellent, and all the staff were very kind and helpful. Overall, a wonderful experience and highly recommended.

what a delightful spot, right in the center of everything, ferry and public beach within 5 min walking, great dining in the area and a lovely staff. we had a room with a little balcony and it was just perfect. very quiet at night and nice breakfast on the terrace. the 2nd floor terrace was also a quiet delight. thank you

Der Empfang war sehr unfreundlich. Uns war klar, dass das Zimmer erst 14 Uhr bereit steht, trotzdem war es nicht möglich, vorher einzuchecken. Wir wollten einfach nur Bescheid geben, dass wir da sind. Lage des Hotels ist direkt am Hafen, sehr zentral. Das Zimmer war sauber, sehr klein und dunkel (Innenhof) aber o.k. Das Frühstück war katastrophal. Im Frühstücksraum gibt es nur Plastikstühle. Das Buffet ist sehr übersichtlich. 1 Käse, 1 Wurstsorte. Die hart (blau) gekochten Eier waren kalt. Alles andere wie Marmelade usw. gibt es in kleinen Abpackungen. Kein Obst. Wir haben im entfernten Parkhaus geparkt. Beim Checkout im Hotel wurden uns dafür 10 € auf due Technung gesetzt. Wir bekamen ein Auslöseticket im Hotel. Bei der Ausfahrt wurde uns dann angezeigt, dass dieses Ticket bereits benutzt ist und ungültig. So mussten wir dann nochmals 22 € für die Auslösung bezahlen. (1 Nacht) Das war sehr ärgerlich. Auch wenn die Lage des Hotels sehr schön ist, werden wir dort nicht noch einmal einchecken.

Perfectly situated in the old port area of Desenzano with the breakfast area including seats overlooking the little boats bobbing in the old harbour. There is also a balconied terrace with the same view. Staff were friendly and helpful. Grazie breakfast ladies, you were wonderful! Breakfast had lots of choice, probably the best breakfast we’ve ever had in Italy.

Hyggelig, lite hotell helt sentralt i Desenzano. Jeg benyttet dagene til å besøke flere av de små byene ved Gardasjøen. For meg var det derfor et stort pluss at det bare var et par minutter å gå fra hotellet til kaien der båtene går fra. Det er utrolig mye interessant å se og oppleve i mange av disse småbyene. Jeg hadde ikke privat balkong, som mange av rommene har. Men hotellet har en stor, flott terrasse til fellesbruk og en hyggelig salong like innenfor terrassen. Stort rom med kjøleskap/minibar med billig vann og brus. Vannkoker og kaffe/te. Fint bad. Bra frokost, bedre enn på mange tre stjerners hotell i Italia.

Bars und Restaurants befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe. Zum Bahnhof von Desenzano kommt man in 15 - 20 Gehminuten. Es hat mir sehr gut gefallen und ich werde bestimmt wiederkommen.

Great hotel in excellent location. Worth noting that not all rooms are accessible by the elevator so when booking i would recommend asking for a room that you don’t need to take any stairs to if you have mobility issues

The location is beautiful and right in the centre of town. 20 minutes walk from the train station and 5 from the ferry terminals. The balcony on our terrace had plenty room for the 2 of us to sit there and enjoy the view. Our room was comfortable although the shower cubicle on the small side. The room and hotel in general, although rather dated was spotlessly clean and well maintained throughout. The service from the breakfast team was superb as was the choice and quality of food on offer. Sitting outside on the sheltered terrace enjoying the view of the old harbour each morning is something that will be sorely missed by ourselves. Unfortunately, there was one downside to our stay when we had an issue with something in the bathroom one evening. The "no can do" attitude of one of the reception staff really let down our otherwise superb stay at this beautiful hotel and town.

I stayed in a single for three nights and a double (with view of Porto Vecchio) for one night. Oddly, the single was a bigger room, albeit with a small bed. The narrow tub in the single room took dexterity to egress, not suitable if you have mobility issues. Although they have an elevator, reaching this room required taking the stairs from the 1st to the 2nd floor. Breakfast was satisfactory. The food choices and layout were not quite as good as other hotels I have stayed at. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. Only about 20% of the ceiling lights were on in the dining room, leaving the room a bit dark for my preference. Location was excellent and the price was very reasonable.

We loved almost everything about this property. The location can’t be beat -we stayed in room 9 and the only criticism is that this very small (but has a great balcony). The shower is comically small. I understand other rooms have appropriate showers . Even with this issue we loved our stay in this hotel. Highly recommend

Fabulous. Very small showers though. Would need bigger if bigger than a Uk size 12, I’m a 10 and I had found washing my hair and bending down in it very difficult.

Loved everything about this place. Wish we could have turned the air conditioner down a few degrees. There are steps within the room that could be a challenge. Staff was incredible and had wonderful recommendations on restaurants. Would stay again anytime!!!

The hotel is at the prime location with all restaurants surrounded. Step away from the ferry and in the middle of the town center area. Small hotels with about 30 something rooms. Love the balcony looking out the marina. However, the shower is so small. I am petite but still had hard time to get into the shower stall. Can't imagine for people with bigger size figure.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Piroscafo. The hotel was a lovely location overlooking the harbour, the breakfast was great, the staff were very friendly. We done lots of sightseeing while stopping here. Would 100% go back again!

We had a great stay at Hotel Piroscafo. The location is excellent, close to shops and restaurants, and the rooms are quaint and very clean. Parking was easy with their arrangement at a nearby underground lot (about a 6-minute walk), with in-and-out privileges billed directly by the hotel—very convenient. The included breakfast was excellent, and all the staff were very kind and helpful. Overall, a wonderful experience and highly recommended.

The room was lovely although we requested a balcony room ( as we are smokers) this was dented us. There was a,smoking terrace but this was locked from 8pm to 8am, so at any other time, we had to go from the 2nd floor to the street area to smoke. The breakfast was lovely with lots of choice. On our last evening we asked the man at the front desk to book is a taxi to the station for 5.45am the following day . He said we were too late , but he'd try to message them. We said we seeded a confirmation às otherwise we'd have to leave 30 minutes earlier to walk up the steep hill with luggage. He said we should have booked it before 7pm, even though we'd spoken about this a few nights earlier. I asked why we weren't informed if this and his attitude became very challenging abd he said it wasn't his problem, it was ours. There was then some confusion over paying for our stay, and he slammed his paperwork down and was shouting and swearing in Italian, tho the swear words were unmistakable. At this point we had to walk outside to diffuse the situation. He did eventually book us a cab for the following morning, but failed to tell us we would have to pay double for a reservation, so we had to then pay 20 euros for a 4 minute ride . The rest of the staff were so friendly and heloful, and couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable

The location is beautiful and right in the centre of town. 20 minutes walk from the train station and 5 from the ferry terminals. The balcony on our terrace had plenty room for the 2 of us to sit there and enjoy the view. Our room was comfortable although the shower cubicle on the small side. The room and hotel in general, although rather dated was spotlessly clean and well maintained throughout. The service from the breakfast team was superb as was the choice and quality of food on offer. Sitting outside on the sheltered terrace enjoying the view of the old harbour each morning is something that will be sorely missed by ourselves. Unfortunately, there was one downside to our stay when we had an issue with something in the bathroom one evening. The "no can do" attitude of one of the reception staff really let down our otherwise superb stay at this beautiful hotel and town.

This hotel is a very pleasant property. The communication was excellent. All staff members very exceptionally friendly and helpful. We appreciated their attention to the smallest detail. We would return to this hotel without hesitation. The selection for the breakfast was very good. The hotel is close to the harbor and many restaurants.

All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, we were made to feel welcome from arriving to leaving. The rooms were well appointed and serviced every day. The Terrace overlooking harbour was a perfect place to relax. The position of the hotel is excellent, in the hub of Desenzano surrounded by a plethora of restaurants and cosy bars. I cannot recommend this hotel high enough. We will be returning withy a doubt.

Fantastic hotel in a very nice area. Walkable from the train station in around 10 minutes. There are loads of bars/ restaurants within a few minutes walk of the hotel. The ferry to other areas of Lake Garda is just around the corner. The air con in the room worked very well in the heat! Breakfast had lots of nice options, although you needed an engineering degree to work the toaster. Would recommend to any family/ friends and would stay here again if we return.

I stayed in a single for three nights and a double (with view of Porto Vecchio) for one night. Oddly, the single was a bigger room, albeit with a small bed. The narrow tub in the single room took dexterity to egress, not suitable if you have mobility issues. Although they have an elevator, reaching this room required taking the stairs from the 1st to the 2nd floor. Breakfast was satisfactory. The food choices and layout were not quite as good as other hotels I have stayed at. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. Only about 20% of the ceiling lights were on in the dining room, leaving the room a bit dark for my preference. Location was excellent and the price was very reasonable.

Der Empfang war sehr unfreundlich. Uns war klar, dass das Zimmer erst 14 Uhr bereit steht, trotzdem war es nicht möglich, vorher einzuchecken. Wir wollten einfach nur Bescheid geben, dass wir da sind. Lage des Hotels ist direkt am Hafen, sehr zentral. Das Zimmer war sauber, sehr klein und dunkel (Innenhof) aber o.k. Das Frühstück war katastrophal. Im Frühstücksraum gibt es nur Plastikstühle. Das Buffet ist sehr übersichtlich. 1 Käse, 1 Wurstsorte. Die hart (blau) gekochten Eier waren kalt. Alles andere wie Marmelade usw. gibt es in kleinen Abpackungen. Kein Obst. Wir haben im entfernten Parkhaus geparkt. Beim Checkout im Hotel wurden uns dafür 10 € auf due Technung gesetzt. Wir bekamen ein Auslöseticket im Hotel. Bei der Ausfahrt wurde uns dann angezeigt, dass dieses Ticket bereits benutzt ist und ungültig. So mussten wir dann nochmals 22 € für die Auslösung bezahlen. (1 Nacht) Das war sehr ärgerlich. Auch wenn die Lage des Hotels sehr schön ist, werden wir dort nicht noch einmal einchecken.

Perfectly situated in the old port area of Desenzano with the breakfast area including seats overlooking the little boats bobbing in the old harbour. There is also a balconied terrace with the same view. Staff were friendly and helpful. Grazie breakfast ladies, you were wonderful! Breakfast had lots of choice, probably the best breakfast we’ve ever had in Italy.

Just returned from a wonderful week at the Hotel Piroscafo and we can’t recommend it highly enough! The location is absolutely beautiful overlooking the harbour. The hotel itself is immaculate and the staff are all fantastically helpful. For me personally as a coeliac, I really appreciated the excellent gluten free breakfast options which set me up for the day. I’m sure there are many great hotels in Desenzano, but on our next visit there will only be one place that we want to stay! 😊

Nous avons passé trois nuits à l’hôtel et tout était parfait sauf la taille de la douche qui était trop petite malgré que nous n’ayons pas une forte corpulence. Chambre 20 Le personnel est très agréable et l’emplacement superbe. Les petits déjeuners sont corrects. Belle expérience malgré la douche, il vaut mieux privilégier une chambre avec baignoire.
