We rented the home for 5 nights just before Christmas. About a foot of snow fell earlier the day of our arrival so the outside looked incredible. When we arrived, we drove up the plowed driveway, but had to locate a shovel to gain access to the home because it was never cleared. We walked in and turned on the lights. The log cabin style home has a warm and cozy look and feel. As we got settled in we began to notice the neglect in the home — broken kitchen cabinet doors, exposed power outlets, a hot tub with a cracked cover and no chlorine in it, and squeaky beds. While the home is tidy, it isn’t didn’t feel clean. The floors are sooty, air quality was dirty, and filtered water tasted foul leading me to believe that all the filters throughout the house aren’t properly maintained. If the owner took the time to maintain the home I would return, but until then I’ll avoid and stay somewhere else that is clean and comfortable., and offers a healthier experience.

The property was beautiful but there were a few things not working. Initially when we got there the internet and TV didn't work but we realized nothing was plugged in. The day we were leaving from what I understood from the housekeeping personnel was that we were the first rental of the season. She said that everything should have been plugged in . I told her what we found that needed repair. I would go back and stay here because it was beautiful and relaxing.

Good- but house -has a musty smell. Could use more lights inside; not as proximate to beach as advertised. Hot tub was a bit dirty and would not shut off. AC not working well in queen bedroom. We were thrilled to see this cabin up for rent again! We stayed here many years ago when it had a different owner and are happy that this owner is sharing it as well! This is a cozy cabin with bathrooms for each bedroom (two en suite and one a few steps out into the hallway) which was important to us as we were traveling with our son and girlfriend and a close friend. The location is amazing…on the road circling Mirror Lake yet still private with lake access right across the road. We walked to town to shop and to stop in some of the many restaurants and bars. Every day we walked around the lake to take in the views and enjoy the fresh air. The hot tub was a great way to end the day and my husband got a fire going out in the backyard to take away the fall chill. This place would be excellent in the winter too with a nice wood burning fireplace in the living room. Football and chili by the fire after a day in the snow is definitely next on our list when we rent here again. The owner is very prompt with communication and we appreciated his quick resolution to a minor concern.

Property itself was very nice. We had a great time but there were a few glitches that were not well addressed by management. Property advertised as sleeping 10 but there sheets and blankets for only 8. Management promised delivery of the. Missing sheets but they never came. The hot tub was not hot and management’s fix came too late.

The cabin is rustic with modern amenities. Unfortunately communication with the host was all but non-existent because he was out of the country. Problems: 1) the WiFi router and TV were unplugged when we arrived and it took us until the next day to get everything plugged back in and working; 2) the hot tub cover was saturated with water and impossible to move without several people and the controls did not work properly on the hot tub; 3) there were NO instructions provided on how to access the 'PRIVATE BEACH ACCESS' that is advertised in the title - we would have enjoyed using the kayaks and sitting by the water but never found the access point.We did enjoy our stay overall because of the location and the amenities we were able to use BUT the property listing is misleading and inaccurate and I do not feel was worth the price we paid.

The house was a great base to explore the area, then come back to comfortable and functional spaces. A spacious area to relax and unwind by the large tv and fireplace, a well-equipped kitchen, powerful hot tub and comfortable beds are all great features. We also used one of the kayaks on mirror lake via the home’s access across the street which was wonderful. Appreciated being able to have a cool climate-controlled bedroom as well. Would definitely stay here again!

It was the perfect setting for our group to relax, read, and unwind in a beautiful setting, immaculate home with such care to details and decor. Upon arrival we noticed the grill still had food left on it, several lights didn't work or needed new light bulbs, cigarettes were left in the fire pit and the property was not very clean in general. There were exposed electrical wires where a light switch should have been and on the range hood. I contacted the property owner 3 times before he got back to me. He sent his maintenance person to the house who left us light bulbs on a table. Other then the location of this property we were extremely disappointed in our stay.

We are repeat winter visitors to the cabin. For our family there is no better lodging rental in Lake Placid. Spotlessly clean upon arrival, warm and welcoming each visit. Perfect location for access to events, restaurants and sights in the High Peaks area. The host is very easy to communicate with and very accommodating. We plan to visit again next year.

My family loved our stay in this cabin. The space was comfortable, clean and snuggly. We were busy during our days with skiing and luge and loved that we had a hot tub to relax in each night. Our dog traveled with us as well and had a fun time playing in the snow around the cabin. Thank you for allowing us to be your guests! Also, forgot to mention what a great location of this cabin. Easily walkable to town (if we had been brave enough to deal with the cold!).

We spent a quiet weekend out of town at this lovely cabin. We enjoyed all the space with the three full bathrooms! We spent time on the front and back decks and really enjoyed the hot tub every night. Thank you for the wonderful memories!

This was a great place to stay in Lake Placid that was in the ideal location--away from the business of the downtown area, but close enough to walk to the downtown area, and it is a scenic walk around the lake. Staying here gives you the feel of staying in a mountain lodge. There was plenty of room for 5 people, and the house was well-attended with all the amenities we needed. It was a very comfortable and relaxing place to stay. My only suggestions would be: provide clearer instructions on how to the heating/air conditioning units work, and provide clearer instructions about where the access to the lake is. Other than that, this is a very nice, affordable place to stay that I would recommend without hesitation.

Staying here gives you the feel of staying in a mountain lodge. There was plenty of room for 5 people, and the house was well-attended with all the amenities we needed. It was a very comfortable and relaxing place to stay. My only suggestions would be: provide clearer instructions on how to the heating/air conditioning units work, and provide clearer instructions about where the access to the lake is. Other than that, this is a very nice, affordable place to stay that I would recommend without hesitation.

The cabin is rustic with modern amenities. Unfortunately communication with the host was all but non-existent because he was out of the country. The house was a great base to explore the area, then come back to comfortable and functional spaces. A spacious area to relax and unwind by the large tv and fireplace, a well-equipped kitchen, powerful hot tub and comfortable beds are all great features. We also used one of the kayaks on mirror lake via the home’s access across the street which was wonderful. Appreciated being able to have a cool climate-controlled bedroom as well. Would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed the property. Some of the house could use some upgrades - specifically beds (which were very soft) and bathrooms (needed some extra attention to cleaning tiles) but overall it was a wonderful trip. Kitchen is well stocked. Hot tub was great for the end of the day. Fireplace made rainy days very comfortable.

Upon arrival we noticed the grill still had food left on it, several lights didn't work or needed new light bulbs, cigarettes were left in the fire pit and the property was not very clean in general. There were exposed electrical wires where a light switch should have been and on the range hood. I contacted the property owner 3 times before he got back to me. He sent his maintenance person to the house who left us light bulbs on a table. Other then the location of this property we were extremely disappointed in our stay.

We are repeat winter visitors to the cabin. For our family there is no better lodging rental in Lake Placid. Spotlessly clean upon arrival, warm and welcoming each visit. Perfect location for access to events, restaurants and sights in the High Peaks area. The host is very easy to communicate with and very accommodating. We plan to visit again next year.

A beautiful Adirondack cabin directly across street from Lake. We enjoyed location without being actually on the water. The hot tub & fire pit out back were a big hit. Very well equipped kitchen. Very quiet for great sleeping. There were a few minor issues that we tried to communicate with host but got no response. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The house was perfect. Great layout with kitchen, family, and dining room all open space. Great backyard with firepit for kids to play. Hot tub was perfect for the kids. Location easy to all main st shops/restaurants and Whiteface skiing. Few minor issues, communication with the owner was easy and responsive. Would definitely stay here again!

Property itself was very nice. We had a great time but there were a few glitches that were not well addressed by management. Property advertised as sleeping 10 but there sheets and blankets for only 8. Management promised delivery of the. Missing sheets but they never came. The hot tub was not hot and management’s fix came too late.

We stayed with our child and another family with their 2 children. Had a great time. Enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub, plus found it an easy walk from Lake Placid Brewing Company. Had a couple minor things come up and owner was incredibly helpful and quick to respond. Highly recommended!

This cabin far exceeded its description! Kevin was very communicative and check in was a breeze! Lots of snow and the driveway was plowed for us. He even had the Keurig upgraded since the one there was not working. Very warm in the winter which kade our stay very cozy. Highly recommend!!

We absolutely loved the beautiful log cabin. It was the perfect accommodations for our family gathering, celebrating my Moms 90th birthday. We loved the Adirondack decor throughout the cabin. The home was warm and cozy with the fireplace and lighting and worked very well serving dinners for the family In the open dining area. We loved the large kitchen, fireplace, washer and dryer, private bathrooms in two of the bedrooms and hot tub on the deck. The location was so convenient. We enjoyed walking into town and up the Cobble Hill Trail.we would definitely love to stay in this charming log cabin on our next visit to Lake Placid.

This was a great place to stay in Lake Placid that was in the ideal location--away from the business of the downtown area, but close enough to walk to the downtown area, and it is a scenic walk around the lake. My husband and I stayed with our pups and really enjoyed this property! It's super close to cobble trailhead so we could walk there, around the lake or hike close by. We loved riding the bikes around the property or into town. Lots of options to eat close by.

My family loved our stay in this cabin. The space was comfortable, clean and snuggly. We were busy during our days with skiing and luge and loved that we had a hot tub to relax in each night. Our dog traveled with us as well and had a fun time playing in the snow around the cabin. Thank you for allowing us to be your guests! Also, forgot to mention what a great location of this cabin. Easily walkable to town (if we had been brave enough to deal with the cold!).

We had a great stay; everything was just as described. Location is awesome to experience all that the Lake Placid area has to offer. A 1 mile walk brings you to shops and restaurants downtown on Main Street. Our family of 7, ranging from 3 to 63 years old, had a wonderful time thanks to the amazing range of area activities to choose from. The hot tub looked clean and inviting but we did not use it. There was rain on and off, which prevented us from sitting around the fire pit or using the kayak/canoe on the lake. Still, we were all very comfortable relaxing at this beautiful, nicely decorated house in between our comings and goings. The two large bedrooms are very spacious, with en suite bathrooms. The third bedroom is smaller, with easy access to a separate small bathroom. This room could use another nightstand and table lamp, but overall, accommodations were very welcoming, clean and cozy.

The place inside was beautiful and looked like the pictures. The outside did not look like the pictures. It looked overgrown and somewhat neglected. The grill was unclean and old, slats were off and on the ground, crawl space under the house was open and exposed, and most importantly the hot tub was very old and not working. The hot tub was the most frustrating part because it is something we overextended ourselves in price just to have the hot tub! The host never told us and he knew it was broken before we got there. VRBO care isn’t what they advertise either. I contacted them and I was told to contact the host which I already did multiple times. The host apologized and said he’d reimburse us for that amenity but once we were home, he would not respond to us. After several weeks and several long and frustrating calls to VRBO support, they were able to contact the host. We were eventually reimbursed 150.00 which honestly wasn’t worth the effort of trying to get it! I’ve been using VRBO for over fifteen years and never had a problem. Hosts need to realize that some people save their money a long time in order to go to these places. We should be able to expect what is offered on the listing when we arrive or at least be told ahead of time that the amenity is unavailable.

Very nice place to stay. It was very clean. The hot tub was nice. Close to town walking distance. The house was stocked with all you need except for firewood.The nice house cleaner went out of her way to get us some firewood. Would recommend for other renters.
