We had a lovely stay while visiting family in St. Charles. The carriage house is well located. It was clean and efficient. The kitchen has all that is needed for a quick breakfast. Guests aren't likely to do much cooking as the carriage house is within walking distance of many great restaurants. My girls loved the upstairs bed nooks, especially after discovering the built in reading lights.

We are delighted to have found this beautiful VRBO and the quaint area of St. Charles! We were coming to St Louis to see our Phillies play the Cardinals but didn’t want to stay in the city. This was a PERFECT spot. Close enough to go exploring the city, but then coming back to the quiet historic streets of St Charles. The Guest House was cozy and unique with a peaceful view of the Missouri River just a golf stroke away. Steeped in history but certainly not lacking any modern amenities needed. Nicely stocked with backup toiletries, a few snacks, and bottled water so we didn’t have to run out and buy groceries as we often do at many VRBOs when only bare minimum supplies are provided. The brick gas fireplace adds a perfect atmosphere. I’d love to visit in the colder fall/winter months just to use it more. Loved the coffee table book showing photos of the process of how the owners refurbished this little gem and gave it new life to offer a beautiful, quiet place to stay. Walking the brick streets to the many shops and amazing restaurants was absolutely charming. Everyone was friendly. We had two wonderful meals at the Main House Restaurant just steps away. Also enjoyed great meals at Tony’s, Novellus, and Allin’s Diner. And had a great time listening to LIVE music at the Honky Tonk just blocks down the street. Walkable and safe area with loads of charm. Thank you for the great stay!

We loved this house. It was cute and functional and plenty of space for me and my 2 kids (16, 26). It had all the basics and plenty of extras. It was exactly as described, check in was simple and communication with owner prior to arriving was amazing. We were able to walk to lots of restaurants and places to shop and driving into St. Louis was simple and only took about 20 minutes depending on where we were going. The area near the home is just beautiful and I have could have spent days exploring. If we make it back this direction I would absolutely want to stay here again.

As mentioned in all reviews, the location is THE best! We stayed there during the 4th of July festival and were right in the middle of the action. BUT with the old thick brick walls when we shut the door all the noise was muted, not to zero, but low enough that it was no big deal. Bed was comfortable, the place was spotless, you get your own parking spot too. Could not recommend higher! -Matt

If you have never been to St. Charles, MO, you have to go and stay in the Riverfront Guesthouse. My 3 siblings and I stayed for 2 nights in this uniquely renovated 1830’s cottage. The cottage is perfect for two people but also worked great for our group of 4. The main floor bed was like sleeping on clouds it was so comfy. The upstairs beds are like bunk beds. If you want a bigger bed, there is enough floor space to use an air mattress, if you want to bring your own. There is no mirror on the second floor so if you have multiple people getting ready at one time, I suggest you bring your own. There are LOTs of outlets. The Keurig and snacks are a nice touch. There are plenty of places to eat in walking distance so only having a kitchenette was no problem. The location is AMAZING! Out the front door is the Missouri River with the Katy Trail for biking or walking. Walk up a short sidewalk and you are on Main Street. Besides the things to do on Mainstreet, the casino is just down the street and wine country is about a 30 minute drive. Highly recommend!

I was in town for a work meeting. I have found VRBO properties to be a much more comfortable alternative to generic hotels, and The Guest House did not disappoint. The riverfront location was cozy, inviting and very clean. Thw property is within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The owner Matt even personally called me after check-in to make sure everything was alright... definitely a nice warm personal touch, that made me feel at home! I highly recommend and will definitely be returning!

Perfect location for a St. Charles getaway. Such a peaceful spot in the midst of all the hubbub. We came for a family wedding and found ourselves in the midst of the Legends and Lanterns weekend. What a fun time. The cabin was was more than we expected. We will definitely be back.

This house was perfect for the 2 of us on a mini getaway. It is right off the mai street with tons of shopping and restaurants within walking distance and the river right across the street. What a charming, beautiful home! My children and I enjoyed a relaxing stay, sampling the restaurants and bakeries between walks along the river. Clear instructions, a welcoming home with thoughtful touches, and a perfect spot to relax. I’d definitely recommend staying here!

We loved this house. It was cute and functional and plenty of space for me and my 2 kids (16, 26). It had all the basics and plenty of extras. It was exactly as described, check in was simple and communication with owner prior to arriving was amazing. We were able to walk to lots of restaurants and places to shop and driving into St. Louis was simple and only took about 20 minutes depending on where we were going. The area near the home is just beautiful and I have could have spent days exploring. If we make it back this direction I would absolutely want to stay here again.

You get access to lots of local spaces walking distance and the Katy trail right across the street! The cabin js so clean and well kept. Theres a lot of attention to detail in the set up and the hosts are really helpful! Cant wait to come back.

I had a lovely stay. The guest house was within walking distance to so many historical sites. I felt comfortable and safe - it was just the perfect place to land after a full day / weekend of training. Very peaceful. The hosts were very responsive and answered my questions within minutes. Such a cute place. I’m hoping to come back and spend more time exploring and enjoying the area with my family. I highly recommend.

The Guest House was the perfect spot for us. The house was quaint, clean and absolutely adorable. My husband and I enjoyed our time together and we loved all that downtown historic Saint Charles had to offer. Audrey & Matt were kind, prompt & very accommodating. This restored mini cottage is the perfect fit for a St. Charles visit. The location right off of Main St allows for easy access to all the local businesses. Exceptionally clean and well maintained. Great communication with hosts. Would highly recommend for making memories!

I was in town for a work meeting. I have found VRBO properties to be a much more comfortable alternative to generic hotels, and The Guest House did not disappoint. The riverfront location was cozy, inviting and very clean. Thw property is within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The owner Matt even personally called me after check-in to make sure everything was alright... definitely a nice warm personal touch, that made me feel at home! I highly recommend and will definitely be returning!

As mentioned in all reviews, the location is THE best! We stayed there during the 4th of July festival and were right in the middle of the action. BUT with the old thick brick walls when we shut the door all the noise was muted, not to zero, but low enough that it was no big deal. Bed was comfortable, the place was spotless, you get your own parking spot too. Could not recommend higher! -Matt

The property was just as described and pictured. The location is right in the middle of the historic district making it an easy walk in either direction and just steps away from the Katy Trail.
