We were traveling through town for a few days. We were surprised at how much we enjoyed staying at the Hotel Metropole. The best surprised was the gym and SPA. It was fantastic and so refreshing. Although the pool was closed for the winter, the spa more than made up for it and at no additional charge. The only thing I didn't appreciate was a per person cover charge for eating at the restaurant. That doesn't seem like a good way to encourage guest to dine-in.

Amazing! Stayed here at least 5 times in the past 10 years and this hotel never disappoints. My only complaint is at €400 a night for our double seaview room, the €20 daily lounge bed fee should be included in the price of the room.

We stayed with 3 children, the location and facilities are excellent. What makes this hotel extra special are the fantastic staff who are helpful and friendly. My children really enjoyed the pebble beach and the lifeguards made sure my children had something to play with. An excellent hotel, everyone made the extra effort to ensure my children had a wonderful stay.

im visiting Santa Margherita for over 12 years, couple of times a year (luckily, i live in the south of switzerland, 4 hours drive away), and had the privilege to stay in every 5 stars in the area. This time I was not happy with the offer of the hotels i usually stay in, so I tried Metropole and i was very deeply impressed. On paper, they are 4 star, but honestly they could easily qualify for 5 stars. amazing pool, amazing garden and beach, very nice decently renovated rooms, friendly and well trained staff. breakfast with great choices. beautiful spa. i can only recommend them and will surely visit in the future.

Four or five star hotels in Santa Margherita are expensive but the Metropole lives up to expectations. We had a quiet, well appointed room which was very clean and had a great modern bathroom. It was a garden suite. Hotel seems slightly old fashioned at first contact but bedrooms are good, the staff and service are excellent and it has a decent restaurant. We eat there both nights. It was great to have parking right outside as well. Nice indoor and outdoor pools and garden areas. Also a gym and spa as well. Good breakfast buffet with plenty of choice.

Excellent hotel right on the beach. Absolutely loved this hotel. It was absolutely stunning! Our room was huge and the balcony came right out onto the beach front. The hood at breakfast was great. Lots of variety. The pool was a standout. Stunning views of the gorgeous surrounding buildings and the pool barman/ lifesaver was an absolute legend. So lovely and hospitable. He also tops your drink right to the top which made us very happy. I can highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Santa Margherita

This property is in front of the ocean, and walking distance from the train station. Not only convenient it is also very clean quiet and beautiful! I loved my room because of we paid extra for the ocean view. Very friendly staff. Overall, I recommend to stay in this hotel Thank you!

Nice mid tier property, the tall front desk guy was a jerk but our stay was ok overall. The hotel is dated, smoky in the hallways and there’s rule signs everywhere. The best part was the ocean patio area.

I made a mistake in booking for one pax instead of two and so the hotel wanted to charge me more. Plus breakfast for two pax was extra as well as a better sea view room. It ended up being 160€ per night, much more than what I booked. I did a quick check at Hotels.com for the same date and it was still cheaper than what they charged me. I consoled myself by having a sea view room. Still the view was only partial. The hotel is right next to the main road and so it gets noisy at night from the buses and bikes that come through. There is no aircon and so it can get stuffy and so their suggestion is to leave the balcony door open hence the road noise. The elevator is very small and so only two pax with large suitcases can fit. Front desk staff is helpful. Breakfast is decent and what I like is the fresh orange juicer station. All in all, location is near town and train station but given what I was charged extra, I would probably opt for Hotel Continental which was just next door, a bit further from the main road and with a full frontal view of sea.

Great location and facilities overall. Aircondition in our room didn’t function properly and the staff claimed 24 degrees in the room was normal. We got a room in the small villa connected to the hotel and might be the reason for the temperature. Not going back solidly because of the AC and the way the staff handled our complain.

The hotel grounds are absolutely stunning and well maintained. The staff are lovely and helpful. The hotel is quite dated and would benefit from a refurbishment. No iron or ironing board in the rooms. Also no kettle, wine glasses or tea/coffee facilities. Great location

Classic Elegance with metal key you leave at front desk. Very Convenient to walk from train station 3-5min. Go down the winding road then you'll go left up & hotel on right. I didn't have time for the spa and fitness center but is they both looked Amazing! Breakfast was great with variety. Bed was comfortable. Location was Great! Bus & Ferry Port walking distance for Portofino. Pool area had chairs with adjustable head cover attached to lounger. I thought great for the price too. Highly Recommend! I

My wife enjoyed her massage with candle at the spa very much! The hotel is incredibly beautiful and dinner and breakfast are both spectacular! We return every year to this incredibly beautiful hotel! The staff are also so very friendly and are almost like a 2nd honorary family to us! Bravo!

Spettacolare. Non mi vengono le parole per descrivere la mia esperienza al Metropole se non una; la perfezione. Hotel favoloso, posteggio riservato, camera (la junior Suite) da mille e una notte, personale cordiale, ristorante e colazione fantastica. Il fiore all'occhiello della struttura è però la sua Spa, dotata di ogni tipo di comodità e di una vasca idromassaggio da sogno con grotta annessa per momenti di intimo relax e gestita da ragazze molto cordiali e gentili. Pulizia dell'hotel da oscar. Ritornando alla mia camera (la suite junior) direi che è stata senza alcun dubbio la più bella camera nella quale ho dormito; ampia, luminosa, tranquilla e con persiane che non fanno passare la minima luce mi ha regalato un riposo che non avevo da anni. Al suo interno ho trovato ogni tipo di confort (frigo bar, divano, bagno Deluxe e terrazzine con vista della spettacolare costa di Santa Margherita Ligure. A completare il tutto una bellissima piscina all'aperto (purtroppo inutilizzabile essendo a Febbraio) Il mio soggiorno all'hotel Metropole è stato sensazionale, lo consiglio a tutti per vivere un soggiorno di relax e tranquillità coccolati dalle calde acque dell'idromassaggio, in un'ambiente caldo, accogliente e di stupefacente qualità con attorno la bellezza della costa ligure. Complimenti a tutta la struttura, non dimenticherò facilmente il mio soggiorno. Grazie

Loved it here! After a long day of traveling, staying here to rest for two nights was perfect! Location was just where we needed to be! The town was amazing! Breakfast at the hotel was delicious.
