What a fantastic stay at The Grand Hyatt Athens! completely exceeded my expectations - the property was expansive and gorgeous! multiple inifinity pools, cabanas abound, rooftop bar and cafe. More pools, hot tubs, saunas, spa downstairs and we had a fantastic dinner at the formal rooftop restaurant - our travel group was so thrilled to experience this gem - what a treat!!

The best part of this hotel is definitely its view from the rooftop (pools & breakfast/restaurant). Also the spa is very nice. The location is a bit away from the main tourist attractions/areas, but still a rather easy walking distance - not the most pleasant walk though. The room was comfortable. There are some signs of the property not being brand new any more (stains on corridor floors, water damage on bathroom door etc.) even though it’s modern. The breakfast was good but not exceptional. The gym was ok.

This hotel is an oasis of luxury. The spa, the pools, the club lounge are beyond amazing. I absolutely would go back. The only downside is a good 25 minute walk to nicer area. Still well worth it and hotel offers free shuttle to city center.

This on paper is an excellent hotel. Really lovely helpful staff One major problem ….., the elevators….. they are not fit for purpose…. It took us 15 minutes to get a lift from breakfast on the 9th floor to the lobby.

The shower had mold. Upon reporting the maintenance came and said it is black caulk. Who puts a black caulk in all white shower, very wierd. I am not coming here again. They even charged me minibar which was never used by us. Do not have photos but will never stay here again.

The carpet on the floor I stayed in and the room I stayed in needs to be cleaned or better yet, replaced as it was very stained and dirty. The tile around the shower area needs to be cleaned or better yet. Remove the old gout and put in fresh new grout to approve the appearance. I was very surprised at so of the conditions I saw in this popular hotel.

My room had dirty sheets and the table wasn’t wiped down.. our friend said there was makeup on her pillow case I thought it was hers until I saw sauce on ours. YUCK! everyone at the property is very nice and the restaurant is good besides that.

We booked a Junior Suite with pool, for one while transitting via Athens. The room smelled old and musty, like your grandparents house. The pool in the suite was very dirty and didnt look like the water was drained. This isnt the expectation from a Grand Hyatt property.

Modern hotel with big rooms. The initial room assigned was in the pool level, it had a strong moldy odor and was isolated in a corner far away from the elevators. We had to request a room change and met some resistance cause the hotel was at capacity. Finally got a new room. Transfer to the airport was very overpriced (better to just request a taxi like we did). The restaurant in the 9th floor was booked and no priority offered for hotel guests. The room phone did not work.

Room was very spacious and comfortable. However we were facing the busy street and it was noisy. View from small balcony was of acropolis, would not spend extra for that. You can go to roof top pool/bar and have a much better view and seating.

Beautiful hotel. Only downside is that it is such a popular hotel that it is very busy during check out time and check in time. The lobby is very crowded and it’s almost impossible to get an elevator. So be patient. You’ll be waiting for a while. This hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly. The staff at the pool bar was not as friendly or attentive but overall this is a really great hotel to stay at and would choose it again.

Good service and attention to detail. Check-in wasn't good. Broken toilet paper dispenser was never fixed. Mini bar wasn't full when we arrived and you tried to charge us for stuff we didn't use. The elevators are not efficient. The signs for ingress, egress, and in and around the hotel need improvement. Otherwise, excellent.

Overall stay at the hotel was llvely, checking in desk staff were very helpful, however the doorman i found to be very unprofessional, unhelpful... he focused on anyone he thought he could get a tip from or earn extra cash from... mainly from men, which left myself a single female to communicate and navigate with the taxi drivers alone. With lobby staff recommending or referring me to the doorman made me very uncomfortable

Where to begin? Day one of six. Completely ignored by the breakfast waiter. Rude hostess. Was told while I waited four hours for my room to be ready to check out the spa. I went to the spa and stood at the desk for seven minutes While the receptionist was on the phone, speaking in Greek and completely ignored me. The funky designed shower sprays water all over the bathroom to the point of flooding! People waiting for the elevators to take them where they needed to go Wier backed up 10 to 15 minutes. One man with his luggage, went up and down the elevator three times before it took him to the proper floor. Waiters and people at the pool were extremely rude! I do not recommend you to stay at this hotel. Unfortunately, it looks beautiful on the outside and ugly on the inside. However, I don’t think there are very many choices for a 4 to 5 star hotel in Athens. But the grand Hyatt should not be rated five stars!

Really big hotel hence lots of guests as well as conventions. Room was clean and straightened up each day. Shower poorly designed water always ended up on the floor no matter what you did. Staff didn't always replace the stuff you used ie: spoons, tea, coffee. Located by a bunch of strip and sex clubs. Loud dance party just behind hotel last night we were there rooms are not sound proof.

Great location in terms of proximity to the cruise port and the acropolis. Room was clean and well cared for. Staff is helpful and nice. However there does not seem to have a lot around the hotel in terms of restaurants or sightseeing that guest could enjoy without a 20 min walk towards the acropolis.

The hotel is ok. Modern and clean but it is huge - so huge we had to queue for 30 minutes to check in. There are not enough lifts for the huge numbers of guests so one waits 10 - 15 minutes for a lift which stops at every floor. Also the location is dreadful - in a very rough red light area full of strip clubs and sex shops, very dangerous at night and 15 minutes by taxi to the centre of Athens.

Lovely large hotel with all the amenities and services you’d expect from the Hyatt. Big rooms too. Great view from the terrace. Staff at reception were perhaps not super helpful in providing all information. In terms of location, it’s probably a tad bar to get into the main tourist area (20 mins - fine but not easy to go back and forth), plus on a main road / highway so not a pleasant walk.

The hotel has an amazing rooftop pool and restaurant with incredible views of the Acropolis. The onsite restaurants were ok. Great breakfast buffet but ordering lunch took forever and was mediocre. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were nice. Overall, it was a good stay and I would recommend this hotel for a stay in Athens.

Hotel was okay. The elevator situation is a nightmare. We ended up hauling our luggage downstairs using the emergency staircase. The pool area was crowded and it was difficult to get drinks/snacks. Breakfast was good, view from the restaurant is amazing and our room was spacious!

Great hotel, quick short cab ride to the center. Amazing breakfast, definitely worth it. The lunch and dinner however was overpriced and not that tasty. Check in was a bit of nightmare, but the staff was friendly and patient. Even though we waited 35 minutes we were able to check in 2 hours early. Would recommend for your first time in Athens.

Great View, Disappointing Stay Unfortunately, our stay at the Grand Hyatt Athens did not live up to the name or price. Check-in was unnecessarily frustrating. We checked in early, then later had to wait in the check-in line all over again just to pick up our keys. A separate key-pickup line would be a simple solution. A bellman told us this has been an ongoing issue for years and was an “ownership” rather than management issue. The rooftop restaurant has a spectacular nighttime view of the Parthenon, but that was the highlight. Our $150 meal arrived cold, my burger bun was so hard it was like a crouton, service was extremely slow, and requested condiments never arrived. We had to ask for the check and then awkwardly handle the tip prompt while the server stood at the table. Our shower was missing the sliding holder that positions the handheld showerhead at a normal height. The rain shower had very little water volume, and areas around the shower door appeared poorly cleaned. The rooftop elevator also stopped working and displayed “FR,” which we were told meant fire, although no alarm sounded. We eventually gave up and walked back to our room. Breakfast eggs were good and the rooftop view is beautiful, but overall the hotel simply did not feel welcoming. For a Grand Hyatt, we expected much better. This experience was disappointing enough that we would think twice before choosing another Grand Hyatt in the future.
