The lobby bar area is large, comfortable and welcoming. Swimming pool was good and we enjoyed although the slide is out of order. sad we have to pay towels for £1 each, in the end towels gone missing I think towels should be FREE to used. Mattress was hard weren't the comfiest, neither were the pillows. Carpet are so dirty need proper cleaning. One staff in the Funhouse is very rude towards guest/ visitors not very welcoming, needs proper training how to dealt with guest/visitors with using polite and friendly manners. The location is perfect for exploring the Cairngorms. Great location for town and mountains.

Lots of activities for kids, swimming pool and leisure staff were amazing. Other staff were friendly but some of the systems were silly. Seating and setting tables 1 by 1 by 1 person caused an unnecessary wait when you have already booked breakfast. One coffee machine. Queue for juice etc. Dinner 1st night was told go to the bar ot will be fine, got there no seats, walking round and round no help, just me and my daughter, eventually another family let us sit with them, then the person bringing food i asked about sauces and he just said over there and walked away so i had to leave my 7 year old alone with strangers while i got them and when i ordered. 2nd night decided to book dinner, buffet only, buffet was terrible, pizza tasted like cardboard, eventually found something that tasted ok but not great quality for the price. Coffee bar was brilliant. Pool was brilliant. Arcades were great. Room was basic but ok. Fun house brilliant. Closing the pool so soon after checking out was a pain but the lovely receptionist gave us passes to the fun house which was very nice. Overall a great place for a family stay and if you sort out your illogical love of queueing for dining it would be even better.

Very good food-dinner and breakfast, rooms are clean but could be better standard, bed not to comfortable, very short hotel night-16.00 till 10.00, we couldn't use a swimming pool because was open very short time from 8.30 till 19.30 and you have to book, we didn't received any information about this-most hotels have swimming pools from 6.00 till 22.00 and you dont have to book if you are a guest.

Queue to check in was ridiculous even though they ask you to check in online 2 days before arriving. Stayed in a 2 double bed room in the main part of hotel, was very clean. The beds and pillows aren’t very comfy so didn’t sleep well. The facilities are great for kids. My son loved the soft play and mini golf.

Fantastic facilities, especially for kids but all a bit tired and dated. Only 1 of the pools was open for a chunk of our stay resulting in long waits to get in. The bedroom was very basic, almost dorm like. The bar staff were very harassed and didn't seem to want to be there, one guy even rolled his eyes at me! Next time I'll stay closer to the Aviemore action.

Had a lovely stay with our grandson. The facilities at the hotel for kids is excellent. The soft play, pool and park were all worth a visit with the kids. We ate in the hotel for the 3 nights we were there. The food was lovely but not a great choice. Room was fine but could do with upgrading. Staying at this hotel you really need a car to get into Aviemore as it is a bit out of the centre.

Horrendous experience. Check in took over an hour. The room was too hot and smelly. The beds were uncomfortable. There were festive activities that required additional booking and £120+ payment for family of 4 to attend a ceilidh, which was fully booked. The hotel in general was understaffed. The woodshed shut at 10pm. Towels for the pool cost £1.50.

This hotel is long overdue an overhaul and this year it was nice to see they’ve started it on some rooms. Worth a visit but don’t expect plush 4/5 star hotel. It’s dated but they seem to be improving things. Staff are lovely, pool is small and the lady who runs the pool does so with an iron fist and is sometimes over zealous. Amazing setting, great breakfast and average rooms. This year our mattress was in dire need of replacing but the room itself was clean and tidy. The entertainment is very cheesy but great for the kids. Nothing really much for the adults. It is worth a visit but we are hoping next year they will have done a lot more to the place to bring it up to date. Children’s play areas are great and the arcades are brilliant for passing time. Not really that expensive either. Overall, worth a visit but don’t get your hopes to high. We use it as a base to chase the snow for the kids each winter.

Overall stay is ok .Rooms are not cleaning daily basis .They are saying it is cleaning only 5 days interval. Asked them empty the bin as it was full .But the house keeping staff refused to do it .They have given only a bin liner instead of emptying the bin .

The only redemption was that the hotel was fairly cheap for the area, but it was horribly worn, quite dirty and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Hotel facilities decent enough. Entertainment provided for families on certain nights and adults on other nights. On-site mini golf reasonable as well. Swimming you have to book, limited to 30 people for any given time slot. Room definitely not the cleanest and needs modernised. Not being cleaned daily probably contributes to this. Shower average.

When we arrived it was a nightmare to get a parking space. Once we got into the hotel we had to wait in line for 30 minutes to even check in. Got into the room was very out dated was dusty and had crumbs in the drawers, my lamp next to my bed didnt work, there was a brown stain on the duvet, the bunk bed my daughters was sleeping in was very unsafe due to the ladder moving and the top barrier of the top bunk bed moved. The handle on the wall in the bathroom was coming away from the wall and the sink had curly thick hairs in it. When we woke up there was no running water. Would not recommend this hotel and would not be staying here again..

Check in was very late at 4pm. Queue of 45 minutes to check in. Queue of 8 people at the bar and one barman. Took 30 minutes to order food while waiting in the queue. Single room was absolutely tiny, like a student dorm. No bedside table. Drain in shower nlocked. Not 1 picture n the room wall. Network of corridors to get to room felt like being on a ferry and rook a crazy time to get there. Kettle didnt work. Dirty marks all over the wall that the bed was against. Strange stains on leather chair. Couldnt get a coffee in the Foyer as the coffee stand was unmanned with an apology sign put up. All staff we encountered were very friendly, helpful and polite but clearly ridiculously overstretched. Chairs in Foyer bar worn through and arms were thick with the oils of a thousand hands. Food was lovely when it arrived. Maps of the site would be appreciated as we had nonidea where the Woodshed bar was.

Extremely dated and not to a good standard for the price. Dinner was absolutely terrible. Like a buffet you’d expect in a school. Poor choice and food cold&stale. For £25 an adult and £15 a child. Robbery. Avoid! Breakfast not much better. Room was dirty with wee left in the toilet before we arrived. Room had not been cleaned to an acceptable standard. Pool ok.

Arrived to check in at 6pm, we waited 50 minutes in a queue before being able to check in. The queue at the bar to be served was equally as long. Room was tiny and in the roof. During summer months is unbearably hot. The reception did provide a fan on the second night.

It was a forgettable stay. Okay a budget room but the bed was awful and toilet / shower room tiny. Mattress springs gone. We booked out at 3am snd went home advising night manager of reasons. Dont think he cared. Stayed here before but probably won't be back. Pay a little more for some sleep next time.

Great hotel for families with plenty activities on site and nearby. Only downfall was it was a bit noisy with squeaky floorboards so you could hear everybody walking down corridors but that wouldnt put me off staying again as all the other plus points more than made up for it.

Our room was small-- the bed was pushed against the wall so one person had to climb out over the other person. Also, we visited in early June but our room was so hot we could barely sleep, even with the window open. There seemed to be heat coming from somewhere-- maybe we were in the wing over the kitchen? The hotel supplied a desk top fan that we ran all night.

We love Coylumbridge Hotel and come often but we were in family room 174 and it was so hot. We slept with windows open and fans on. Not what you expect in March. I did tell reception when I checked out to make them aware. The lady said I should’ve came down and they would’ve sorted it but didn’t want to move our boys again when they were settled. We love Coylumbridge Hotel and come often but we were in family room 174 and it was so hot. We slept with windows open and fans on. Not what you expect in March. I did tell reception when I checked out to make them aware. The lady said I should’ve came down and they would’ve sorted it but didn’t want to move our boys again when they were settled. Anyway apart from that it’s a super hotel and we will be back just not to room 174 lol.

If you’re staying longer than a night be warned the rooms in the annex are small I’ve been in bigger jail cells. myself and small child just about got into the queen bed. And not even a lamp in the room. The place if so big. It’s a well oiled machine. We stayed and included the half board option. I must say the food in the buffet style restaurant was well worth the money. WELL DONE TO THE COOKS AND waiting STAFF

Staff were helpful, however on arrival the car parks were full including the overflow. The room was clean enough but definitely dated. Tv only had two channels available. Bed was ok. Won’t come use this place again. This place is good for family’s or very young couples but not for us.

Have had a couple of nighs per week over last 3 weeks stay hete. I have very much appreciated rhe last 2 weeks having an upgraded room provided. Lots of parking and facilitirs on site. Must say only downside was a long check in queue. Not the fault in any way of the receptionist who was friendly quick and efficient as on my previous stays but perhaps managment could better roster cover or pull in staff to help at busy times as there were plenty else around that could have helped her but didn't.

Lovely hotel, check in took nearly an hour. Unsure why it takes so long, but everyday there were long queues of people at check in. Food was good, room was clean and comfortable. Pool was well maintained and clean changing facilities. Staff were lovely who we came across. They just seemed short staffed in areas of hotel which let hotel down a bit as long wait times at times for food, drinks etc, due to only one staff member being on bar etc. lovely hotel overall, would visit again, just what you needed as a family.

The check in queue was queuing out of the door when we arrived. It took us 45 minutes in the queue to check in. There was one person on checkin for at least 20 mins. Then another arrived but it was still painfully slow. It took 10 mins for one couple to checkout! The manager was hiding in the back office not fazed at all by the enormous queue. When we can back down to the lobby an hour later there was still an enormous queue. Saw queues everyday we were there. Seems the manager has normalised queuing in the hotel. It’s not ok to make elderly people stand in line for 45mins plus. Very poor. The breakfast was also understaffed large queue to wait to be seated. All the queuing spoiled out stay. Hotel was pretty tired, bathroom dirty are needing tlc.

At time of booking I made a request for accommodation suitable for a 6 month old baby. At check in we were given a room on the first floor. There are no lifts. There was no offer of help to get to room with pram, suitcases etc. No mention there was no lift so we had to go looking for one then return to reception and skip the queues to request another room. Staff unapologetic, didnt seem to care. We were given a room on the ground floor. It was close to noisy bar. Children playing chap door run on our door late into the evening, waking our baby and young child. Noise from bar and people outside our room smoking. Smell and noise coming into our room. Room had rubbish in it from previous guests and lots of hairs in the bath. Room felt unclean. There was a notice to say room only gets cleaned if you stay 5 nights or more. We had to go to reception to get towels and toilet roll. Breakfast was okay. The coffee was terrible. Overall would not recommend.

Check in took ages. Key didn’t work, went back , still didn’t work, went back again. Manager came and let us in with master key. Had to recharge the lock! People across from us were given a room already occupied :/ Bar menu had poor choices in our opinion. Will not book again.

A very old and outdated hotel with poor service, lots of hidden costs, below average food, no lifts or help offered with luggages. Terrible dinner menu if you're opting to half-board here and prices for additional items and hidden costs are through the roof. Their double beds are insultingly small (smaller than queen size) and calling the reception / room service from the rooms doesn't work because the phones are not connected properly. Door locks and key cards are so old that they constantly need to be taken back into reception to be fixed. Parking is a nightmare as there is never space out in front of the hotel, so if you are carrying a lot of luggage or heavy suitcases, you'll struggle to drag it through the gravelly car parks and up the flights of extremely old stairs. They kicked up a fuss because we wanted some plates and cutlery to have our takeaway food inside our rooms and because we wanted to eat some light snacks purchased from our travels in the common bar area even though we had purchased food from there as well. When going to the pool, they questioned my wife on what kind of swimming costume she is planning on wearing into the pool because of hygiene reasons. We felt racially discriminated against at this hotel due to the above reasons. Would not recommend, there are better alternatives in this area or in the nearby towns of Aviemore and Kingussie.

Bizarre late check-in experience for our one night stay last night. We had reserved and expected to pay on arrival, arriving quite late for a business trip. On check in, I asked about paying and booking in for breakfast and was told this wasn’t possible until tomorrow. We accepted this and headed to our room. We were then disturbed in our room just before 2am by the receptionist, who demanded that we hadn’t paid and we had to come to reception (in our PJs) but didn’t wait around for us to join him. I use hotels extensively for work and have never encountered this when selecting a ‘pay on arrival’ option! Staff the following morning were brilliant by contrast and we had an enjoyable morning enjoying the Sauna and breakfast before checking out. Very slow check in, took almost an hour. Slow service in restaurant also but staff were all very nice just seemed not enough of them. Pool was good but paying for towels is disappointing when paying what we did for bed and breakfast. Parking was not easy with many cars parked atrociously. Restaurant buffet dinner was quite poor options and expensive for what it was. Breakfast was a lot better but I've been a lot of places that do it a lot better for the price paid.

We were really pleased with our stay the apart from one thing - the staff. They were very pleasant and everything but in the restaurant were very slow and almost non-existent. Taking half hour to bring our drinks order with no apology/explanation was a bit much. None of the table around us were cleared during our time there also. If they had staffing issues, a quick explanation would have gone a long way.

The biggest thing going for the hotel these days is the location which is wonderful. It is now a low end and low cost Hotel so expect that to be reflected in the decor , room comforts , and so on. Nice bar area , easy parking ( at the rear , not the front ). Set your expectation at the right level and you not be disappointed.

Both the room and the bathroom were clean. Beds were comfy enough for a 1 night stay. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Interior of the hotel and rooms are a bit dated though if that's something that will bother you. Otherwise a great stay in a good location.

Had a lovely stay with our grandson. The facilities at the hotel for kids is excellent. The soft play, pool and park were all worth a visit with the kids. We ate in the hotel for the 3 nights we were there. The food was lovely but not a great choice. Room was fine but could do with upgrading. Staying at this hotel you really need a car to get into Aviemore as it is a bit out of the centre.

Landed by chance in this fabulous hotel. Couldn't make it home so had to stay somewhere. Got a last minute deal late in the evening. I had time for a couple of pints in the big wooden lodge style building accessed via a wooden bridge. Great singer entertaining. Whole hotel is set in forest but 60 seconds from main road to Cairngorms. Bus stop at entrance. Next time I stay I'll be bring my wife and dogs. They'd love it here.

Compact cosy double room 59 does what it says on the tin, though you are around by kitchens in what looks like was former staff accommodation. All good though, only one minor issue is only 2 really thin pillows on a double bed...you could probably get more off housekeeping or reception if needed.

Lots of activities for kids, swimming pool and leisure staff were amazing. Other staff were friendly but some of the systems were silly. Seating and setting tables 1 by 1 by 1 person caused an unnecessary wait when you have already booked breakfast. One coffee machine. Queue for juice etc. Dinner 1st night was told go to the bar ot will be fine, got there no seats, walking round and round no help, just me and my daughter, eventually another family let us sit with them, then the person bringing food i asked about sauces and he just said over there and walked away so i had to leave my 7 year old alone with strangers while i got them and when i ordered. 2nd night decided to book dinner, buffet only, buffet was terrible, pizza tasted like cardboard, eventually found something that tasted ok but not great quality for the price. Coffee bar was brilliant. Pool was brilliant. Arcades were great. Room was basic but ok. Fun house brilliant. Closing the pool so soon after checking out was a pain but the lovely receptionist gave us passes to the fun house which was very nice. Overall a great place for a family stay and if you sort out your illogical love of queueing for dining it would be even better.

Excellent except for breakfast when the kitchen serving staff disappeared for about 15 minutes. This was just as the restaurant became busier. There were some items of food not available - eg fried eggs. Any request for other food specially prepared eg poached egg - was not available for that time. The restaurant staff were helpful and friendly but the kitchen let them down.

Good experience overall , nice friendly staff in all areas , large open lounge with comfy sofas , excellent pizza,s ,tacos and nacho,s from the Woodhouse barn , really comfy beds but bathroom tired Superb buffet breakfast

The staff are brilliant and very professional..unfortunately the standard of the food served has dropped dramatically ..lots of the items on the menu were cold , some looked like they were reheats and in general a huge turn off ...it's a pity because it was very good on previous visits ..any furure visit will not include meals.

Hotel room was a cosy double and at £59 for a bed for two it was a good price. The bar was good and there was entertainment. The issue for us was the food- we cannot stand buffets and the only offer was a three course buffet for £25 a head- sorry not our style so we drove elsewhere ate and returned. A bar meal would have been fine but not available.

Check in staff and waiters all really friendly. Room was spacious but dated. Restaurant offers a 3 course buffet for £25 which was way too high, especially when the food was cold and the choices were bleak. It was OK!

Stayed for two night with our two and four year olds, breakfast as part of the booking. Very well set up for kids and families, especially younger ones. Get what you pay for. Breakfast was super busy between 7am and 8am as hotel has coach trips staying over which stretches it to it's capacity, no coffee cups available and no bread etc. Went for breakfast laster second morning and was more manageable. Location very good and pool area great for the kids. Nice location down by river behind football pitch if you can scale the incline.

Limited time for play area. One of the beds did not had duvet. We had to order one and the cover as well late night when we noticed this.

Check in was initially set for 3pm, this was later pushed to 4pm. By the time we were checked in the children's facilities were closed and we were unable to access the pool because part of it was broken and what remained was busy due to the weather and then closed abruptly. Tried to get food a little before 9 to be told the kitchen shut at 8:30. It appeared to me that on the whole the place was understaffed. In relation to staff, I cannot recall the last time I've been treated so rudely, I was trying to sort out feeding my family and looking for cutlery, in the reception I saw the lady who checked us in and tried to ask her for help. Initially she tried to blank me to my face, I wasn't in a position to allow this so asked again and she barked 'bar' at me as she dismissively waved her hand towards the bar and flounced off...I was extremely offended. To be fair the saving grace of the was the bar staff who were very helpful but very busy as well, this person didn't appear to be doing anything anytime I saw her after taking so long with check in.

We checked into a room that hadn’t been cleaned - hairs (from multiple different people in the bed) along with dirt, old food and yellow stains inside the bed, hairs in and around the toilet seat (guess which kind) and excrement on the toilet seat. The hotel staff were happy for us to leave at first after we stated we couldn’t stay with our young child. We eventually got moved to a clean room after speaking to the manager. The hotel is understaffed - the check in line was reaching out the main entrance door and there was 1 staff member behind the desk (this is at the start of August). The bar also only had 1 staff member causing enormous queues. Over 3 days we witnessed the exact same scenario. I first stayed in this hotel over 30 years ago. My father also had a room during this weekend and he stated it was identical to the times we visited as children (hint: no modernisation or refurbs in this period). My father and mother were left for 4hrs with no room on check in (OAPs that had travelled 3 hours to get there). There were no apologies and no sense of urgency. We paid £220 per night for our 3 night stay. If you can get this hotel for £50 or less per night then it’s worth it - no reason to complain - you get your ‘value’. For any price over you should look at the premier inn and use local leisure facilities or get self catering. Pay attention to all the negative reviews of this hotel - they will be largely accurate. Save yourself the disappointment.
