Extremely Disappointing Stay at Tru by Hilton Miami Airport South Blue Lagoon – Request for Resolution Dear Hotels.com, I am writing to share my deep dissatisfaction with a recent stay at Tru by Hilton Miami Airport South Blue Lagoon. Unfortunately, this experience fell far below the standards I expect from Hilton properties — in fact, it felt like a Hilton without the “H.” Here is a summary of the issues I encountered: The airport shuttle never arrived — I waited over 40 minutes and was forced to find alternative transportation. There was no soap in the shower, and despite requesting it, it took over an hour for it to be delivered. The bathroom sink was broken, which made basic use of the facility inconvenient. My room key did not work to access the parking gate, causing additional hassle. The key also failed to work when returning late at night, leaving me locked out and needing assistance. The texting feature did not function — I texted about the soap and received no response, ultimately having to call the front desk to resolve the issue. While I appreciate Mateo — who was working on the evening of June 7 — for doing his best to mitigate the situation by providing a parking voucher, the stay continued to be marred by avoidable service failures. Given the number and severity of issues, I am requesting a credit or other form of compensation to acknowledge the unacceptable experience at this property.

This is a fabulous and convenient hotel... BUT the parking entry/exit was a tabacle having to use room key for BOTH entry AND exit! Key didn't work. Thank God I was not alone to help. I'm use to leaving room key in hotel when checked out! Also, the AC in the hallways were frigid! Needed sweatshirt at bar and restaurant!

First time staying at TRU and it was a great experience overall. Always looked forward to breakfast, great service by Ona who is always on the go. Our room spotless when they would clean and smelled so good in the hotel. No complaints. To our surprise they offered free laundry and we just needed to buy our detergent. Would def recommend. Very convenient for us due to surgery. Walking distance to surgery center and food. Great stay!

I picked this area because it was close to the airport and I like to work out before getting on a plane but the gym did not open until 7 am. I have never stayed at a place that opened that late and I do not understand that if it is not close to other rooms that could wake them up

After a long flight from the UK we're so glad we opted to stay near the airport to rest up for a night. The shuttle was free, we didn't have to wait long at the airport and it was just a 15 minute drive to Tru. The hotel was great, clean and welcoming, free coffee and swimming pool. The room and bed was comfortable and we stayed on site and ate at the hotel bar on the 10th floor with a great view of a thunderstorm. My wife beat me at pool, that was the only downside. The breakfast range was vast, back up on the 10th floor, but my appetite was up after a good workout in the gym. We'll definitely book back in here next time we fly into Miami.

The pool was busted during our entire stay. We were there for three nights. The staff was not very helpful and I felt that during checkout I was ignored even after I said good morning to the the lady at the counter. The place is very clean and the area is very walkable to many restaurants and a grocery store. I had my kids with me so we were really bummed that the pool wasn't working.

Was in Miami for the Club World Cup and Tru by Hilton is my first go to whatever city I visit. The low cost self parking in the garage was great because I had rental from the airport and appreciated that it was parked in a garage. Very easy to drive to Miami Beach and Little Havana and conveniently located very close to a Publix and their low priced prepared foods dept. Saved me a ton of money not having to eat at restaurants every day. The pool table and foosball table were also a plus!

Great stay, very close to the airport with a shuttle. Shuttle isn’t often so we had to wait for a while but that wasn’t an issue.

Rather new and well kept overall, but the room was not well cleaned, the air conditioning was extremely noisy and an alarm clock in the room woke us up in the middle of the night, so not much sleep here…

We had no bathroom light and no outlets that worked requested maintenance multiple times and no one ever cam had to take showers with our cellphone flashlights ! Very frustrating!

Very near airport and offers a free shuttle service. My room was very big but sadly the shower had long dark hairs in tray (not mine) Staff really nice and breakfast was also very nice

Tru was very nice. It was my first time staying at a Tru and my family and I were very impressed. It was clean, the beds were so comfortable and the overall look of the hotel was very nice! The views were beautiful as well.

The hotel itself is nice and clean plus the location was nice being close walking distance to restaurants and a supermarket. Breakfast is great! However our toilet did not well and we reported it. They said that they sent someone to fix but we were out most of the day and when we returned, the problem was still there

I was thoroughly impress by the cleanliness of the property. The hotel smelled soooo good not just in the lobby but on the hotel floors! And the breakfast...Wow!! I was not expecting the amazing variety! Hot food which was freshly prepared! Plus the view from the tenth floor where the breakfast was located was incredible! Whoever thought of this concept of continental breakfast needs a raise!! I even told our Taxi driver how amazing the facility and breakfast was at TRU! The beds was comfort and I slept like a baby! Oh and the added touch of my name on the TV! Fantasic welcoming idea!! I will definitely recommend your hotel to my friends! Your hotel was priceless! And truly affordable!! Having the dining room/buffet on the top floor is very nice and offers a nice view. I found the building to have a bit of a musty smell, and the floor in my room was dirty, which I learned when I went to put my socks on. Not ideal.

Clean room, staff friendly, location to airport good. The really nice thing that impressed us was the breakfast. So many choices and delicious food. The dinner from the bar was also good quality and tasty.

I didn’t use the airport shuttle. Waited awhile, and never saw one come by even from a different hotel. Room was clean. Sink faucet was temperamental. I liked having a coffee machine available. I would tell future guests not to arrive before 3 o’clock check-in time or you’ll be sitting in the lobby with another 100 guests until then. Also, bring ear plugs. Never heard any airplane noise, but clanking and water flushing during the night. Didn’t really bother me, but did remind myself to bring ear plugs next time.

Nice staff and property. The property was clean and the staff is professional. My issue is the noise. We were first dealing with a dog barking in the room next to us. The staff provided a new room and the first floor has a lot of hallway noise.

Our stay was OK. The TRU is a bare bones hotel. No glasses, coffee or tea machine in the room, very small room, no closet - what I would expect at a budget hotel.

Great proximity to the airport. Staff was friendly. Beds and pillows were a tad bit hard.

Did not think the hotel was worth the money. I expected something more, room was small, bed was uncomfortable. Our view was great but on the ground floor , so not private. I would have booked the home 2 suite side of the hotel had I known they shared the same property. Breakfast had great options.

We only stayed for the day as we had just got off a cruise and had a late flight… The staff at check-in when we showed up super early ( 9am) in the morning were very helpful and allowed us to check in early, which was a lifesaver. I didn’t catch the persons name who checked us in but they were absolutely fabulous! They don’t have day rates, but we didn’t care to pay a full overnight rate as we were there for at least eight hours. I don’t know if I’d want to stay here overnight as the AC is a wall unit and is very very very loud when it’s running. The rooms are a bit musty and felt damp but the beds are super comfortable. The room was very clean. Great shower. The pool area has no shade, but the pool itself is in good condition. They have free breakfast in the morning. It’s subpar at best. But there is something for everyone.

Front desk told me the restaurant closes at 8. They are open much later

Arrived to check in at 5.30pm and was told room was not ready. Went for a bite to eat and came back 45 minutes later and there was still a problem in finding a room. Front desk staff were rushed off their feet in dealing with customers. The room we had was ok. Quite large. Bed was comfortable. TV didn’t work, after two requests to fix it someone did come to the room and fixed it, but it stopped working again in the morning. Buffet breakfast was ok. Some of the ‘hot’ food was just luke warm. Overall my opinion is that it is over priced for the stay, and didn’t offer good value for money

I arrived early (between 9:30-10 AM) and was told that my room would not be available until the afternoon. I was allowed to leave my luggage in the corner with others waiting for a room. I came back around lunchtime and waited. I asked if the room was available I was told no that a room may be available after 1 or 2. I waited with two other potential guests. The manager came out and offered them drinks and snacks while they waited. He did not acknowledge me. I asked again at after 1 and 2. A gentleman who just returned from his break was reminded by his coworker that he has to offer me a king if 2 queens were not available. He said no, I have to give her what she wants. The coworker didn’t back down and he proceeded to look at his computer telling me that nothing was available until 3. I sat back down and watched others who also had 3:00 as check in time proceed to get checked in. The manager walked by and stood at the desk as I was finally checked in at 3:10. I had to ask for the location of the bathroom as I proceeded to pee myself. A puddle was left where I stood. I cleaned the bathroom floor but I had soiled my dress and shoes with urine. When I came back to the front desk to get my room key, the hosts that had refused to provide me a room started speaking in Spanish, asking the person assisting me about details of happy hour such as were they going and what they were going to drink while they were still trying to assist me.

This hotel lost my reservation and then double charged me, they were overbooked and did not have enough staff. The shuttle to the airport was not running as advertised, they ran out of towels at the hotel and the front desk does not answer the phone. The one guy they had working was trying to deal with the crowds and was overwhelmed. I am still working with your booking site to resolve my issues because the hotel will not answer the phone.

Room was not available. When we finally received our room there weren’t enough towels for 4 people. 1/4 of a roll of toilet paper, pillows were flat, no hair dryer. Meal in the restaurant took 2 hours to be served after ordering. Went to front desk for assistance 5 times and they said we’re working on it. My last trip to front desk, in my pajamas, I refused to leave without toilet paper and towels. They finally brought 2 pillows to the room in a plastic bag. They left it in front of the door and ran. Both pillows smelled like a cat peed on them. Last thing was we paid a $12 deposit for transportation to the Miami cruise port and the transport never arrived. The front desk would not refund our $12. If they were my employees, they would all be fired!! I am requesting a full refund.

We arrived late on the night that we checked in. The staff obviously were tired as they weren't the most welcoming. However, the morning staff was excellent and quite helpful. Overall, the stay was satisfactory.

This TRU by Hilton was a pleasure to stay at... the rooms are spacious and we had a Lagoon view.... There are also A panda express and a chipotle restaurant as well as a Itailian restaurant within walking distant...there is also a strip mall within a 5-10 min

Property was located near restaurants within walking distance. It was also a short drive to lots of places to visit. The staff were nice and the hotel was very clean. We loved the bright and quiet rooms and would highly recommend this hotel.

Very nice bar and breakfast area on floor 10, however it isn't open very long. Staff was very nice and hotel was clean. Only down side is you cannot check in until 3pm on the nose. Very busy hotel and great shopping/dining within walking distance.

Our stay was excellent! From the lobby, to the rooms ,Hallways restaurant area/breakfast area was very clean! The staff was extremely nice. The food was excellent drinks as well. We would definitely recommend. Great stay all the way around.
