Although the staff were friendly, I didn’t find anything special about this hotel. It was very mediocre — the room smelled bad, there was no conditioner in the bathroom, the hallways were dark, and the elevator was slow, often with long wait times. Personally, I can’t believe this is rated as a 4-star hotel. I even saw a mouse on the first floor while resting on the couch.
Although the staff were friendly, I didn’t find anything special about this hotel. The best thing about this hotel is the rooftop. The 360-degree views are pretty amazing. Unfortunately, the seasonal rooftop bar was already shut for winter. Their website is great but very deceiving because it presents the hotel as a welcoming and cosy place to stay, with rather chic interiors and a lovely restaurant. Sadly, the reality is somewhat different. The hotel is rather dated and in need of some repairs because it is evident that the building suffers from damp and plumbing problems. The WhatsApp welcome message after check-in is a nice touch, but sadly no one was monitoring this, even though it informed you that they're here to meet any requests you may have. We were given a very small room (414) to start with which faces the back of the hotel, the rooms at the back are dark and this one is pretty stripped back with beige walls and a mouldy damp patch on one of the ceiling tiles. After waiting for someone to reply to my WhatsApp message whilst we were out and to no avail, we asked to swap rooms upon our return, and we were offered room 101 instead, a slightly bigger square room with the same decor, but the location is on the opposite end of the building. One of the ceiling tiles also has a damp patch on it, but this seems to be a problem throughout the building. The restaurant and bar were also closed on Sunday and no room service was available. As a gold member, we were not offered a free beverage as stated in our booking, our room felt more like a room downgrade.

they have a night club dj, that played dance music until past 4 am (on friday/sat) nights and the music bleeds into hotel bedrooms. if you are sensitive to sound, this is a terrible hotel for you. other than that, hotel is fine

Easy access to train, shopping, Eiffel Tower, etc, etc. staff was always friendly and helpful. Only downside is it’s an older elevator design so the car is limited to about 4-people with luggage. Rooftop bar is a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing

Very comfortable room. Accommodating and friendly staff. Great breakfast buffet. Loved the rooftop bar with great views. (The attached nightclub a little noisy, but didn’t bother us.). We did have to take the subway to most of the sites, and got a little frustrated with that because of trouble using our credit cards in the ticket machines, which kept asking for a pin.). We enjoyed our stay very much!!!! Thank you!

Check in and staff at the start were very helpful. The room didn’t fit 2 luggage (despite being for 2 people), didn’t clean the room (pick up trash, make the bed, add toilet paper) and the second day didn’t have hot water. We weren’t told proactively but had to find out while already in the shower. No remedy was offered aside from complimentary breakfast the next day which definitely wasn’t sufficient as it was offered after 9pm and we had made already other plans

My family and I were guests at the hotel for five days. The carpet had bleach stains and looked dirty. We never recieved full rolls of toilet paper, so my family and I felt like we had to conserve our use of paper. Generally it was a good stay, the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and well located, easy to get around. It would have been nice to have better tea/coffee making facilities in the room and also better control of the room temperature. The room was very warm and the temperature only went down to 19 degrees.

Beautiful hotel close to Gare du Nord and within walking distance of subway entrance. Staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Rooftop bar view of city was amazing. Room was super clean and spacious.

View from my room of Sacre Coeur was amazing. Beautifully appointed in an excellent location, convenient to metro, good restaurants, Rue des Martyrs, Montmartre. Loved the rooftop bar, but felt a bit out of place as an elder single. As a historic hotel, has stairs to consider. My room was quite small, no drawers so had to use the table for my suitcase.

The room was spacious, clean, and had all the facilities needed. The interiors were stylish, but the room could use a refresh in places, as there were some patches of flaky paint and signs of damp. One drawback was the noise on Saturday night from the club opposite and the busy street, but this was only an issue for that night. Overall, a comfortable stay with good amenities and a convenient base for exploring the area.

Our room was very small had a hard time moving around. At night was too noises, I’m not sure what was going on but we were on the 7th floor and music and noise was heard ever night until 12 o’clock except for Friday night the noise did not stop until 2:30am and we had a early morning flight Saturday morning. Didn’t sleep at all that night. The noise sounded like someone was scraping the floor and then it was like someone dumping water, then scraping again all the while music played.

This is a beautifully hotel, with rooms that are wonderfully unique and feel so Parisian. The staff are some of the best that I have encountered in any country and were there to help and advise throughout our stay (the free cocktails were a bonus). The location is perfect, a short walk from the station and right on the doorstep of Montmartre. This is now our place in Paris and we will be returning as soon as we are able.
This is a beautifully hotel, with rooms that are wonderfully unique and feel so Parisian. The location of the property was great and the bed was comfortable. Everything about the property was rather dark and enclosed, so that was contrary to the light and bright vibe I usually get from a hotel. The rooftop area was fantastic though.

Check in and staff at the start were very helpful. The room didn’t fit 2 luggage (despite being for 2 people), didn’t clean the room (pick up trash, make the bed, add toilet paper) and the second day didn’t have hot water. We weren’t told proactively but had to find out while already in the shower. No remedy was offered aside from complimentary breakfast the next day which definitely wasn’t sufficient as it was offered after 9pm and we had made already other plans

While the hotel was perfectly pleasant with a moody, rustic vibe, we had some trouble with reception. We very much enjoyed the service of the gentleman behind the desk, and of Dounia, the Guest Relations Manager, but we had significant trouble with one girl at reception who did not seem at all empathetic to struggles we had during our stay, and proceeded to act significantly rude and flippant to us after our first interaction. We received bad attitude from her every step of the way. When a fire alarm went off, and we walked down five flights of stairs to evacuate, she laughed off the situation and explained it as the kitchen “trying something.” Additionally, upon check out, it seemed we were charged twice for a bottle of wine and they did not believe me until I showed them the double charge on a printed out bill. Had it not been for this one reception worker, we would have had a perfectly pleasant stay, however due to her attitude and behavior I could not recommend this hotel.

This is a beautifully hotel, with rooms that are wonderfully unique and feel so Parisian. The staff are some of the best that I have encountered in any country and were there to help and advise throughout our stay (the free cocktails were a bonus). The location is perfect, a short walk from the station and right on the doorstep of Montmartre. This is now our place in Paris and we will be returning as soon as we are able.

Hotel Rochechouart is my home away from home in Paris. The staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely care about making your stay special. During my sister’s birthday and my aunt’s first visit to Paris, they went above and beyond with thoughtful touches and seamless arrangements. Beautiful rooms, perfect location, and exceptional service — highly recommended!

Fantastic location. While the outside of the hotel was very busy and a hive of activity with shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and shows, it was peacefully quiet inside. The staff are welcoming and helpful with refreshments and a safe quiet lounge while I waited for my room. I was very early arriving and expected to wait several hours, staff stowed my luggage and offered me coffee and Madeira cake, a sat and read for a while then went for a walk, my room was ready when I returned, 2 hours early! My room was very comfortable and clean, beautiful decorated, as is the hotel throughout. Great location for access to metro (outside the door is Pigalle) a few streets away and atep walk upwards is Sacre Coeur. Walk up the road to all that Pigalle and Balance offer including the Moulin Rouge. The other direction towards is quieter but many shops and cafes. A walk down the hill to Palace Garnier and Galeries Lafayette. Highly recommend the terrace atop GL for amazing views. The Musee Parfum islso nearby fir an interesting, different and FREE visit. The hotel features a restaurant and bar downstairs but the gem is Maggie's on the rooftop for a lovely evening, drinks, food and amazing views from Sacre Coeur riding behind and the Eiffel Tower in all her sparkling glory in the 360 view. Fantastic hotel, highly recommend for families, solo travelers, felt safe in my hotel accommodations. Staff were beyond helpful. Will stay again.

This hotel is a bit rough around the edges but I think it’s cause they maintain a 1920’s Paris aesthetic. Rooms are small are to be expected in Paris We had to change rooms as the one they put us in had no shower head, the lights flickered and the taps were broken. Glad they changed it. There is a tourism tax which in total was about 75 euros for 4 days so FYI. The restaurant had private events all week and the patio was closed due to weather most days. However the location is perfect, right near Montmartre. Don’t expect anything above and beyond here. They rarely greet you at the entrance. Not sure if it’s just Parisian culture but I’d probably stay somewhere else next time.

The room was spacious, clean, and had all the facilities needed. The interiors were stylish, but the room could use a refresh in places, as there were some patches of flaky paint and signs of damp. We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Rochechouart. It's very conveniently located withing walking distance of the Gare du Nord train station in the bustling neighborhood of Montmartre. Plenty of bars and restaurants withing walking distance. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel rooftop bar offers some of the best views over Paris especially the Sacre Coeur.

All was good. Staff were very nice, property is old but well maintained and clean. Close to Moulin Rouge and Montmartre but lots of sex related shops around. Little far from tourists activities sight. But close to subway station and bus stop. Overall I had a good experience.

Lovely hotel. Very clean. Close to many sites. Rooftop was lovely. Restaurant, dinner, breakfast surprised me! We didn’t have to look for a top restaurant in the area. People from outside were lining up to get in. Big beautiful restaurant. Fresh warm cake and cold water every afternoon in the lobby was a great touch and tasted homemade. Couldn’t say enough! Room was very small but the bathroom was nice, airy and big. It made up for the small room. We had beautiful Parisian view. Supermarket/pharmacy was 5 minutes walking distance. Highly recommend. Very pleasant experience. I will go back.

Very much enjoyed our stay there! I liked the location of the hotel, near Montmartre, but not near the over crowded streets. The 9th floor bar with a great view is a plus! Employees were pleasant and helpful. Only complaint would be very limited menu at Maggie restaurant

Very comfortable room. Accommodating and friendly staff. Great breakfast buffet. Loved the rooftop bar with great views. (The attached nightclub a little noisy, but didn’t bother us.). We did have to take the subway to most of the sites, and got a little frustrated with that because of trouble using our credit cards in the ticket machines, which kept asking for a pin.). We enjoyed our stay very much!!!! Thank you!

This is a small hotel suitable for 1 or 2 nights only. The rooms are small and sparsely furnished. There are no robes, no welcome book with in room dining info, no conditioner, limited f&b in mini bar. Reception desk were welcoming but they do not show you to your room. The breakfast service is terrible, they have no staff and neither do they advertise it ends 10am we saw many disappointed guests arrive at this time. They have croissants and some hot food but it doesn’t get replenished. There is no table service. The bar in the evening is busy and they don’t have enough staff, or take your order correctly. You end up going to the bar to ask for the things they missed. No offer of water with your cocktail. It’s just not great. The beds were comfy, the location is on a busy road, but north and south there are nice streets with boutiques and cafes and markets. I don’t think I would stay again. Not terrible, but definitely not as nice as images online portray.

The breakfast is quite nice, but there was confusion as to whether it was included after our first day, and we got a E40 surprise. The room was small of course, but well appointed: Nespresso machine. Mini-fridge. Big tub with nice amenities. The problem was the location. If we turned left out the front door we were soon surrounded by strip clubs. And no charming restaurants. We eventually discovered that if we turned right and downhill it was much better. But the reason we would not stay again is that it is not within even a long, brisk walk of any of the major Paris features. If you want to be near Montmartre then this is good. But if you want to explore Paris, it's too far out.

Everything you want in this charming part of Paris- cafes, local shopping. Montmarte is one of my favorite areas in Paris. But what made this hotel stand out was the excellent customer service! Check in/out was a breeze and the bar staff went above and beyond. The rooftop deck is incredible. Highly recommend Hotel Rochechouart for a stay in Paris!

This is a two-star hotel masquerading as a four-star. The light was so dim in my bedroom that even with every light on I could not read a book in bed, something I consider to be a basic standard in a hotel. I called the front desk for help, someone came up and we tried standing the little bedside lamp on a stack of books, but it still came up to only my torso height, so it was too low to read by. He said he would make a note and look into getting me something better the next day, but he did not, nor did he mention it when I saw him again. He also said other people had complained of the dim lights in their room, but I guess the hotel has taken no action. (Note, the photo I shared is taken with all the lights in the room turned on.) The maids did not clean my room one day in spite of the fact that I left my room at 1:00 PM with a "Please make up my room" card hanging on the door. I had to ask every night for additional coffee pods because on the days they came, the maids did not supply new ones. The hotel has a lot of chipped paint in the hallways which is maybe why they keep the hallways very dim. I won't stay here again!

This was our 3rd visit to Rochechouart and we are planning our 4th. Excellent staff, wonderfully comfortable bedrooms and what a breakfast. Can’t recommend enough
