Beautiful hotel located in a stunning mountain area. Rooms are small but very cosy with a beautiful view. Pool was also very nice surrounded by a gorgeous view. Staff were friendly and helpful. Also get the foot massage!

Very nice front desk staff and clean, comfortable room. Breakfast buffet nice. This hotel is difficult to drive to due to its unique location, so use hotel provided directions, not on-line maps. Also, parking is not convenient to lobby which requires that you haul your bags up a pretty good grade for a moderate distance. There’s a pizza place also right at enterance. It’s very good and very popular at night which causes real traffic flow challenges getting to hotel parking lot.

Superb service-minded staff at the reception! We had big troubles with our rent car and I got tremendously helped by the staff. So greatful! Location in the valley is so beautiful. Clean rooms. Nice air con. Breakfast was very good and service excellent. Peaceful pool area with a great view. Monitored parking area. Mobile phone range very bad due the location. You have to use wifi.

Hotel Scapolatiello is quite unique, created by a family in 1821 and currently run by the 5th generation of the same family. It is in a fantastic location in forested mountains above Salerno with majestic views. The rambling building has several terraces with lots of flowers and it is a soothing and pleasing experience to sip a cocktail provided by the friendly and obliging barman, Antonio, to relax, and just gaze at the natural beauty all around. We found the staff to be helpful and smiling and felt we were being well taken care of. A special mention also to the head waiter Abel, who went out of his way to ensure everything was to our liking. There is a nicely laid out and good sized swimming pool with ample deckchairs and towels and a small bar. The restaurant is slightly old-fashioned, with a relatively short but decent menu, in addition to which there were always specials such as sea bream, sea bass, lobster, spaghetti with utterly delicious tomatoes, and steak. The wine list is extensive and affordable. All in all, we loved being there and it was a lovely experience. On one night singers from the Conservatoire at Salerno gave an impromptu performance in the lounge area, which was magical. The only excursion arranged for us by the hotel was a trip along the beautiful Amalfi coast in a motor launch with another couple, with a one hour stop in Amalfi and a longer one for lunch in Positano.

This is a really nice little place. A boutique hotel renovated several times over the more than 200 years in business. Pool, SPA, bar and restaurant are just a few things that make this place so special!

Beautiful hotel, wonderful surroundings. The rooms are a bit on the smaller side for a family of four, but that is to be expected for a hotel that was built in 1821. Free, unlocked WiFi everywhere was very useful since the cell phone reception was spotty, given the location (the hotel is in the mountains but with a quick and easy access to the coast). Also, make sure you have a small car, given how tight the streets are.

Utroligt hyggeligt hotel med en smuk beliggenhed. Af ældre dato men det gjorde ikke noget. Meget charmerende. Dejlige små haver med plads til at sidde uforstyrret og læse en bog. God størrelse pool. Udbuddet i morgenmadsbuffeten var ret varieret efter italienske forhold med både sødt og salt, brød, kage, frugt, æg, juice etc. Virkelig venlig service i receptionen som hjalp os med at finde det bedste værelse til os. Værelserne hyggelige. At have et værelse med balkon kan absolut anbefales, ikke mindst med tanke på den smukke udsigt. God mad i restauranten. Ikke overdrevet dyrt.

Rooms we were allocated were dreadful. After complaining we were allocated a slightly better one but the couple we were holidaying with were given an apartment style accommodation but many issues and not comfortable. We couldn’t wait to leave. We didn’t enjoy our time there and apart from one male member of staff the rest were surly and unwelcoming. The member of staff who did at least smile recommended a restaurant in Ravello, which was superb. However he also recommended a boat trip along the Amalfi coast. £500+ and promised we would see Positano, (we did see it from way out to see), have an hour ashore in Amalfi and lunch. We had lunch at an ok beach bar but of course we paid the restaurant additionally for that. The other parts of the itinerary never happened. Just chugged up and back down the coast. As for snacks and drinks, couple of bottles of water, a shot of limoncello and a slice of cold pizza. An absolute rip off and boring. Absolutely not what we were told we would get for our £500.

Hotel Scapolatiello is everything you want in an authentic Italy visit. Your at the top of the hill and see the beauty from above. The hotel itself is centuries old and has a very unique feel. Would recommend to walk the hotel to see the beauty for yourself. The staff are very friendly and attentive on everything they do and are very prompt with cleaning service daily. You’re only a 10 mins drive down into cava de Tirreni. This hotel and town is a beautiful gem.

Una excelente opción para un viaje a la zona de Campania y la Costa Amalfitana. Personal muy amable, siempre dispuesto a ayudar y a ofrecernos información con planes, lugares, transportación. Hotel limpio, con unas increíbles vistas y múltiples terrazas para descansar y relajarse. El desayuno y las cenas de buena calidad. Destacar otra vez la excelente y personalizada atención del personal.

This is a beautiful property! Very comfy room and a respite after our busy visit to Rome. It was a bit remote but our tour company came and picked us up and dropped us off with no problem. We would highly recommend!

Beautiful hotel, wonderful surroundings. The rooms are a bit on the smaller side for a family of four, but that is to be expected for a hotel that was built in 1821. Free, unlocked WiFi everywhere was very useful since the cell phone reception was spotty, given the location (the hotel is in the mountains but with a quick and easy access to the coast). Also, make sure you have a small car, given how tight the streets are.

Utroligt hyggeligt hotel med en smuk beliggenhed. Af ældre dato men det gjorde ikke noget. Meget charmerende. Dejlige små haver med plads til at sidde uforstyrret og læse en bog. God størrelse pool. Udbuddet i morgenmadsbuffeten var ret varieret efter italienske forhold med både sødt og salt, brød, kage, frugt, æg, juice etc. Virkelig venlig service i receptionen som hjalp os med at finde det bedste værelse til os. Værelserne hyggelige. At have et værelse med balkon kan absolut anbefales, ikke mindst med tanke på den smukke udsigt. God mad i restauranten. Ikke overdrevet dyrt.

Rooms we were allocated were dreadful. After complaining we were allocated a slightly better one but the couple we were holidaying with were given an apartment style accommodation but many issues and not comfortable. We couldn’t wait to leave. We didn’t enjoy our time there and apart from one male member of staff the rest were surly and unwelcoming. The member of staff who did at least smile recommended a restaurant in Ravello, which was superb. However he also recommended a boat trip along the Amalfi coast. £500+ and promised we would see Positano, (we did see it from way out to see), have an hour ashore in Amalfi and lunch. We had lunch at an ok beach bar but of course we paid the restaurant additionally for that. The other parts of the itinerary never happened. Just chugged up and back down the coast. As for snacks and drinks, couple of bottles of water, a shot of limoncello and a slice of cold pizza. An absolute rip off and boring. Absolutely not what we were told we would get for our £500.

Superb service-minded staff at the reception! We had big troubles with our rent car and I got tremendously helped by the staff. So greatful! Location in the valley is so beautiful. Clean rooms. Nice air con. Breakfast was very good and service excellent. Peaceful pool area with a great view. Monitored parking area. Mobile phone range very bad due the location. You have to use wifi.

Una excelente opción para un viaje a la zona de Campania y la Costa Amalfitana. Personal muy amable, siempre dispuesto a ayudar y a ofrecernos información con planes, lugares, transportación. Hotel limpio, con unas increíbles vistas y múltiples terrazas para descansar y relajarse. El desayuno y las cenas de buena calidad. Destacar otra vez la excelente y personalizada atención del personal.

Vi var en familj med fem vuxna. Vi hade en toppenbra vistelse på hotellet. Verkligen! Underbart vackert uppe på berget, personalen var så fina och trevliga, dom fick oss verkligen att känna oss välkomna. Alla såg hela tiden till att ta sig lite tid att göra det där lilla extra för att skämma bort oss. Frukosten var mycket god, hembakat varje dag och riktigt bra kaffe. Utsikten från terrassen var magnifik. Sängarna var sköna och parkeringen perfekt. Vi kommer absolut att komma tillbaka!!

It was our 2nd stop of our trip and it was my favourite stop. A true Italian experience. The mountain stay in a little town in the mountains, was fantastic!! The hotel was wonderful with really nice people at the front desk. Very helpful.

A Hidden Gem in the Mountains - Truly Unforgettable! We had an unforgettable stay at this beautiful historic hotel, perched atop a mountain in a quaint little village. The setting is absolutely magical-right next to a Roman aqueduct dating back to 100-200AD, and beside a stunning old Catholic church. What truly made our stay exceptional was the staff. From the warm and welcoming waitstaff -Gabrielle, Abdelkader, Lello and Mario— (and all the others that we do not have their names) to Antonio the bartender always there to accommodate with drinks and food, everyone made us feel right at home. A special thank you to Francesco and Simon the pool attendants, who were both incredibly helpful and always ready to answer any questions we had with a smile. If you're looking for charm, history, and outstanding hospitality, this place is a must-visit. We will cherish our memories here forever. Very nice front desk staff and clean, comfortable room. Breakfast buffet nice. This hotel is difficult to drive to due to its unique location, so use hotel provided directions, not on-line maps. Also, parking is not convenient to lobby which requires that you haul your bags up a pretty good grade for a moderate distance. There’s a pizza place also right at enterance. It’s very good and very popular at night which causes real traffic flow challenges getting to hotel parking lot.

This is a beautiful, historic hotel located in an isolated area in the mountains 35 minutes outside of Salerno. Staff were friendly and accommodating, the room was comfortable, but unfortunately for me and my family it was a little too remote for us. It’s about a 10-15 minute drive from Cava de Tirreni and 35-40 minutes from Salerno. I didn’t realize the distance when we booked the hotel. If you’re looking for a location where there are restaurants and shops close by, this might not be the best location. For plans based out of Salerno, transportation is €40 each way. This can get pricey if you’re planning a lot of sightseeing trips and excursions. However, it is a great place to truly get away, unwind, and enjoy expensive views of the hills above Salerno.

Vi havde et fint ophold på hotellet. Men restaurant skuffende en del og alt for lidt at vælge imellem. Vi havde heldigvis lejet en bil så vi kørte i byen og spiste. Et godt hotel med fin udsigt. Men kommer ikke igen.

Bis auf immer gleiches Frühstücksbufett kann man das Hotel für Ausflüge z.B. an die Amalfiküste empfehlen. Es liegt recht einsam in einem Bergdorf, in der unmittelbaren Nähe ist keine Auswahl an Restaurants vorhanden. Im Hotel selbst wurde das Restaurant ohne Halbpension nur am Wochenende geöffnet.

Mooi hotel, klassiek Italiaanse sfeer. Vriendelijk personeel, goed Engels sprekend, denken mee waar nodig. Echt heerlijk eten. Het diner is ook echt goed. Dichtbij Salerno. Amalfi en Positano zelf zijn wel even een stuk verder. Met openbaar vervoer ben je ca. 2 uur kwijt.

Breakfast is late every morning. Not all food is out at 7:30 when breakfast starts, have to wait.. Why?? Do not park near the hotel entrance. Car can get damage due to small street leading to the hotel reception. Park in the below parking, it’s easier. Great views and good for tracking the near mountains..

Beautiful old hotel full of charm and style and comfort. The views are amazing and the pool is lovely. We had a suite with a hot tub on a beautiful balcony. Wish we'd had longer here.
