Really a beautiful hotel but not that family minded. Don’t choose the rooms with the Mountain View. Its a beautiful view but you’ll have a very busy road right next to it and its very noisy. We couldn’t sit in the evenings in our balcony and talk because of that road. Its typical Hotels.com who has these rooms always up to a road or the rooms the hotel can’t book otherwise. The hotel is very expensive and they charge extra for everything. 20 euros a day for parking, 20 euros a day for a baby cut/bed. They even charge money for umbrella rent. So stupid. There are no activities for kids even though they claim to have it.

This was a beautiful property right on Lake Maggiore in Baveno. It wasn’t right in the town center but it was a nice 15 minute walk. Convenient to take a water taxi and the front desk was very nice to call and book one for us. We did a water taxi to all three islands for four of us for 120 Euros. It was nice to have the taxi on call 15 min before we needed it to head to the next island. And getting picked up and dropped off right at the dock of the hotel was so nice.

Beautifully situated grand old hotel with commanding views across the lake. Very friendly, helpful & polite staff. The rooms & communal areas have been tastefully updated with modern touches. Lovely to be able to relax on the terraces or on a sun lounger down by the lake & swim. The swimming pool is rather oddly situated & is probably not quite in keeping with the rest of the hotel. The tennis court has an amazing view but the surface needs some tlc & it costs Euros20 an hour to play. It was a little disappointing that neither access to the gym nor the health/wellness area were included in the overnight stay. Again one had to pay extra for those. It would be worthwhile Expedia making that clear.

The facilities are beautiful the price to not include breakfast and the parking that they have is per hour every time that you go in and out, it’s not that close to Baveno or Stresa unfortunately during our stay, it was raining a lot, but the facilities are beautiful. Decoration in their rooms are fantastic.

Hôtel très bien située. Style un peu "rococo" mais belle chambre et vue lac imprenable. Le plus, plage privée avec transat, serviette à dispo, piscine (un peu froide !!). Réception et service impeccables. Seul bémol, parking souterrain payant (19€) et pas trop le choix car parking à l'extérieur pas possible. place restreinte (faut savoir viser pour se garer !!)

Ottimo hotel con spiaggia privata. Camere molto confortevoli e pulite. Ci andiamo spesso e sicuramente ci andremo in futuro. Una garanzia sul lago Maggiore. Unica pecca che voglio segnalare è la mancanza di materassini sulle sdraio della spiaggia.ottima colazione. Personale gentilissimo

Tout était parfait. Une chambre spacieuse avec une grande salle de bain. Balcon donnant sur la montagne et le lac. Propreté impeccable et décor de la chambre digne d'un film de Visconti. Quant au restaurant et son personnel top! Hall de l'hôtel super!

Det var et fint værelse. Venlig personale. Smuk udsigt fra vores værelse. En del støj fra trafikken Fra vejen som lå meget tæt på hotellet. Plastik græs, plastik buske i krukker, plastik udendørs møbler. I meget varme lugter det af plastisk og plastik græs er meget varmt og ubehageligt at gå på. Koster ekstra at bruge trænings rummet og bilparkering. Drikkepenge til personalet på 1600 kr blev lagt automatisk på regeringen ved udtjekning. Jeg vil ikke anbefale til at at komme og jeg ønsker ikke at komme tilbage. Det var ikke pengene værd.

Belle situation mais équipements vétustes, notamment un volet roulant hors service 3 nuits sur 4, sans possibilité de fermer les rideaux. Les lacunes dans le service (tasses non changées 2 jours de suite) étaient heureusement rattrapées par l'amabilité du personnel.

This is the most lovely hotel I have ever stayed at. We had absolutely nothing to complain about. You are always prepared for the images to be better than the reality but this was the other way around. The hotel, the rooms, the beach and the grounds are stunning. Clean, not over crowded. Calm and pleasant stay. All the staff was lovely. We didn't want to leave! The beach is amazing and a part of it is available for dogs which was amazing! We chose between Splendid and the grand dino but are happy we chose Splendid since it was so calm. This place has that little extra. We can't wait to come back!

Hotel splendid was good but we encountered a few minor issues. My request for non feathers was not met until a few days into the trip even though I’d sent an email request prior to my stay. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. Hard mattress and pillows like sacks. After a polite request they did change the pillows and covers. Another downfall was ants in my room. Not just one or two but quite a few. Not great, some crawling on my bed. Food was ok, not the best I’ve had and was never piping hot, always luke warm. Breakfast was ok but again I’ve had better. The hotel staff were lovely. The hotel as a whole looks very impressive, traditional and grand. The private beach and seating area outside are great. A few loose decking pieces around the pool which could be dangerous. My son stood on a few with his bare feet. There was also a leaks in the main lobby and a musty damp smell along the corridor to our room which was often busy with people on conferences in the rooms off the corridor. Spa was nice and relaxing although a water station is needed especially after a sauna!

Plastik græs, plastik buske i krukker, plastik udendørs møbler. I meget varme lugter det af plastisk og plastik græs er meget varmt og ubehageligt at gå på. Koster ekstra at bruge trænings rummet og bilparkering. Drikkepenge til personalet på 1600 kr blev lagt automatisk på regeringen ved udtjekning. Jeg vil ikke anbefale til at at komme og jeg ønsker ikke at komme tilbage. Det var ikke pengene værd.

Beautifully situated grand old hotel with commanding views across the lake. Very friendly, helpful & polite staff. The rooms & communal areas have been tastefully updated with modern touches. Lovely to be able to relax on the terraces or on a sun lounger down by the lake & swim. The swimming pool is rather oddly situated & is probably not quite in keeping with the rest of the hotel. The tennis court has an amazing view but the surface needs some tlc & it costs Euros20 an hour to play. It was a little disappointing that neither access to the gym nor the health/wellness area were included in the overnight stay. Again one had to pay extra for those. It would be worthwhile Expedia making that clear.

This is the most lovely hotel I have ever stayed at. We had absolutely nothing to complain about. You are always prepared for the images to be better than the reality but this was the other way around. The hotel, the rooms, the beach and the grounds are stunning. Clean, not over crowded. Calm and pleasant stay. All the staff was lovely. We didn't want to leave! The beach is amazing and a part of it is available for dogs which was amazing! We chose between Splendid and the grand dino but are happy we chose Splendid since it was so calm. This place has that little extra. We can't wait to come back!

Hotel splendid was good but we encountered a few minor issues. My request for non feathers was not met until a few days into the trip even though I’d sent an email request prior to my stay. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. Hard mattress and pillows like sacks. After a polite request they did change the pillows and covers. Another downfall was ants in my room. Not just one or two but quite a few. Not great, some crawling on my bed. Food was ok, not the best I’ve had and was never piping hot, always luke warm. Breakfast was ok but again I’ve had better. The hotel staff were lovely. The hotel as a whole looks very impressive, traditional and grand. The private beach and seating area outside are great. A few loose decking pieces around the pool which could be dangerous. My son stood on a few with his bare feet. There was also a leaks in the main lobby and a musty damp smell along the corridor to our room which was often busy with people on conferences in the rooms off the corridor. Spa was nice and relaxing although a water station is needed especially after a sauna!

Really enjoyed this hotel. Have a nice bar that you can also access from outside. Beautiful beach and pool area. It is about a 12 minute walk to the ferry. And sometimes it can be slightly noisy. My neighbor kept me up fighting with her boyfriend. Finally called down to the desk and they had it resolved in less than 5 minutes. My friends also got their laundry washed by hotel. So that was a great service. Lots of cruise liners (Viking) use that hotel. Again quite beautiful.

Kamer met ontbijt. Prijs kwaliteit voor het ontbijt ronduit slecht. Voorheen bij eerdere bezoeken uitstekend. Nu lege broodmanden, geen ei keuzes. Een kwartier voor tijd wordt frisdrank bar afgebroken. Dikke min. Parkeren op prive terrein overzijde, open lucht niet afgesloten en een werkelijk gevaarlijke weg oversteek. Prijs 19 euro. First of all, the staff was super professional and nice. Rachel from the front desk made our stay such a great pleasure and the overall experience truly best, with her care, attention, and service. She is truly amazing, but so are all of the staff. Also, the room condition and overall hotel are highly recommended.

Fantastic hotel with location directly to lake. When I was to pay for stay - staff at reception told me a 5% add on to previous agreed price price for staying when booking via Hotels.com had to be added. Tip to all staff. Thats 5% of 2.300 EUR. They smiled and said…you’re most welcome to increase this to 10% or higher. This is highly problematic approach by hotel. Its a huge amount of tip to add Independent of the service staff gave during stay and based on price for staying at rather expensive hotel. I assess this as a clear case of a “rip off”. Pay in advance and be prepared for this approach hotel practice!

Ci siamo trovati benissimo, tutto molto bello, dalla spiaggia ad ogni tipo di servizio. Unico neo che mi ha irritato; trovarsi al ceckout la mancia per il personale gia' inclusa nel conto, sotto la voce servizi (6%) senza preavviso o richiesta di consenso. Al mio diniego , fatto per principio , e' stata tolta, e pensare che avrei accettato se interpellato,perche' il personale e' professionale, ma trovandola cosi...e' scivolare sulla buccia di banana. A parte questa cosa , ci siamo trovati molto bene e consiglio vivamente

This was a beautiful property right on Lake Maggiore in Baveno. It wasn’t right in the town center but it was a nice 15 minute walk. Convenient to take a water taxi and the front desk was very nice to call and book one for us. We did a water taxi to all three islands for four of us for 120 Euros. It was nice to have the taxi on call 15 min before we needed it to head to the next island. And getting picked up and dropped off right at the dock of the hotel was so nice.

The facilities are beautiful the price to not include breakfast and the parking that they have is per hour every time that you go in and out, it’s not that close to Baveno or Stresa unfortunately during our stay, it was raining a lot, but the facilities are beautiful. Decoration in their rooms are fantastic.

Hôtel très bien située. Style un peu "rococo" mais belle chambre et vue lac imprenable. Le plus, plage privée avec transat, serviette à dispo, piscine (un peu froide !!). Réception et service impeccables. Seul bémol, parking souterrain payant (19€) et pas trop le choix car parking à l'extérieur pas possible. place restreinte (faut savoir viser pour se garer !!)

Lækkert hotel med den flotteste udsigt -stranden var så lækker, så vi prøvede aldrig poolen - restauranten var også fin måske til den dyre side men fin. Morgenmaden var ok minus dårlige scrambled eggs, hvilket er vigtigt for mine drenge, der kun tænker i proteiner -kommer gerne igen

Ottimo hotel con spiaggia privata. Camere molto confortevoli e pulite. Ci andiamo spesso e sicuramente ci andremo in futuro. Una garanzia sul lago Maggiore. Unica pecca che voglio segnalare è la mancanza di materassini sulle sdraio della spiaggia.ottima colazione. Personale gentilissimo

Tout était parfait. Une chambre spacieuse avec une grande salle de bain. Balcon donnant sur la montagne et le lac. Propreté impeccable et décor de la chambre digne d'un film de Visconti. Quant au restaurant et son personnel top! Hall de l'hôtel super!

Der Empfang an der Rezeption durch den Mitarbeiter (Rolando?) war beeindruckend. Hotelfachschule par excellance. High end Sympatiefaktor. Die Lage des Hotels ist imposant. Die Frühstücksterasse mit Blick auf See und Inseln einzigartig. Der Hoteleigene Bootssteg zur Gästenutzung lässt 007 feeling aufkommen. Erlebnis der Extraklasse. Hotel splendid was good but we encountered a few minor issues. My request for non feathers was not met until a few days into the trip even though I’d sent an email request prior to my stay. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. Hard mattress and pillows like sacks. After a polite request they did change the pillows and covers. Another downfall was ants in my room. Not just one or two but quite a few. Not great, some crawling on my bed. Food was ok, not the best I’ve had and was never piping hot, always luke warm. Breakfast was ok but again I’ve had better. The hotel staff were lovely. The hotel as a whole looks very impressive, traditional and grand. The private beach and seating area outside are great. A few loose decking pieces around the pool which could be dangerous. My son stood on a few with his bare feet. There was also a leaks in the main lobby and a musty damp smell along the corridor to our room which was often busy with people on conferences in the rooms off the corridor. Spa was nice and relaxing although a water station is needed especially after a sauna!

Mit dem Aufenthalt, das Zimmer und das Personal waren wir sehr zufrieden :-) Wir reisten mit Hund an, der Park unmittelbar neben dem Hotel bietet die beste Voraussetzung für einen Spaziergang mit perfekten "Gassi Stopps". Der 10 Minütige Spaziergang an den Hafen ist Perfekt, wir sind begeisterte Beschucher von Baveno, waren schon viele Male hier :-)

The hotel has a great location, a nice beach club and beautiful territory. Unfortunately, almost everything else falls short of what you would expect given the price and the hotel’s published rating. The breakfast is nowhere near worth €30 per person. Although the selection is quite extensive, the quality of the products is rather average and the overall offering simply does not justify the price. The parking fee is also completely unreasonable at €25 per day. This kind of price might be understandable for visitors who are not staying at the hotel, but charging hotel guests this amount feels excessive and unfair. The staff seems polite and friendly, but the service feels very formal and impersonal. They seem more focused on following procedures than on actually helping guests. There is very little feeling of genuine hospitality or willingness to go the extra mile. Overall, the hotel gives the impression that it was probably a fantastic property some years ago, but that insufficient investment has been made in maintaining and upgrading it to the standard you would expect today. The location, beach club and grounds are definitely the strongest points, but unfortunately the overall experience does not match the price or the hotel’s rating.
