The room was very clean. It look as if it was recently remodeled...clean carpet, fresh paint, new bed. But, no curtains on the bathroom window was a problem. I had to towel off in the shower and dress in the other room. The bathroom window also had no screen so I couldn't open the window. There was a bathroom fan that came on when the light was on. Nearest place to eat, was at least 15 - 20 minutes away. Same with groceries and gas. OK place to sleep after a day of fishing or hunting.

This is, indeed, a motel for sportsmen. Our room had a backwoods theme, but was also prepped for folks coming in from a day in the backwoods. I think it’s being upgraded room by room (lots of building supplies blocking a couple of rooms), and kudos to whoever is taking in what seems to be a labor of love. The motel is not actually in Dorchester- don’t let Google misdirect you- and is quite isolated, so bring your own breakfast. But it’s also in the heart of the Driftless, which is a wonderful place to visit.

This is, indeed, a motel for sportsmen. Our room had a backwoods theme, but was also prepped for folks coming in from a day in the backwoods. I think it’s being upgraded room by room (lots of building supplies blocking a couple of rooms), and kudos to whoever is taking in what seems to be a labor of love. Love this place have been going to this place for years and love it. I know renovations are being done but a lot of construction materials around and overhang is looking pretty shotty. Would stay a million times over and we will be back for sure.

The room itself was nice and clean. Would stay there again. Very quite. Only issue was the bathroom window had no curtains.the bed was super soft which I liked but the wife didn’t care for. The outside looked abandoned or like a storage area. They are in the middle of a remodel though. So over all a nice location with a nice room and view at a great price. Will definitely stay there again.

Was in town to kayak and the motel was like 5 minutes away from the shuttle so it was very conveniently located. Room was clean. Shower was nice. Bed was comfy. Only complaint I have is the walls are very thin and when the neighbors checked in kinda late with their energetic kid, well there was no sleeping through that. If they insulated the rooms a bit better, id have given it 5 stars. Also, while we didnt go into dorchester (so i could be wrong) i didnt see a gas station in town on google maps, so make sure you plan accordingly.

Love the cabin feel of the motel. Only thing I noticed was you could really hear everything going on in the neighboring room. Wakes must be very thin but there really isn’t much you can do with that now except a remodel. I would definitely stay again, place was great

The only highlight of this property is the room itself which was surprisingly clean given the outer appearance to the property. This obviously is a place meant for "sports men." I was unaware that there is no property management onsight and almost no wifi service. Absolutely no cell service. For a woman traveling alone and needing a place convenient to may activities, I believed this would be ok. Unfortunately, when arriving, you are sent an email with code to unlock key to your room and since I do not have WiFi calling I was not able to communicate with family as to my status. There was a certain amount of fear overnight and did not sleep given the remote location and no staff available. I would not recommend this hotel for the average traveler.
