Cabin In The Pines - Walk to Sargents Wildlife Area

The cabin was extremely clean. No shortage of supplies. The kitchen, bathroom and the bedrooms had all the conveniences I could have asked for and more that I didn't expect. The kitchen had higher quality ingredients for use also.The location can't be beat. It is in the middle of a forested area and was less than a 5 minute walk to Edward Sargeant Wildlife Preserve. Really nice walking trails and beautiful on the Preserve. 5 minute drive to the center of Chama for groceries restaurants, etc. Less than 40 minutes away in Colorado are excellent trails and only 1 hour away from Pagosa Springs. 30 minutes away is Heron Lake State Park in New Mexico. Beautiful scenery at Heron Park also. We had daily visitors of deer, hummingbirds and other wildlife at the cabin.I can't say enough about Austin. Check in was a breeze. I had a couple of questions during our stay and Austin would respond immediately or within 10 minutes. We had a real windy night that knocked out the pilot light on the water heater. I couldn't get it started and they had to do a little work on it to get it going, but it was up within 30 minutes of notifying Austin. He also gave us some tour guide advice as he lives in the area. Great stay. We will be back.

Our microwave did not work, but the hosts were very responsive.

The cabin was nice, the wrap around porch was impressive. Very peaceful place to hide away for a couple days.

Awesome cabin! It exceeded our expectations, wild life everywhere.
