The property is lovely. The kitchen was wonderful for beverages and light breakfast and snack options. I appreciated the thick towels and slippers. It is conveniently located for a university visit and off a main strip with restaurant options near by.

This is a very nice bed and breakfast. Each room has an electric lock. We stayed in the Orlando and Sarasota rooms and had our own private entrance.

Great stay. Really great location as well as a great place to stay. I believe it's an updated "old house" that's exceptionally charming. Kitchen is stocked with waters, sodas, snacks, etc. Room was very comfortable and well stocked. Will definitely return.

What a beautiful place to stay. The rooms are so nicely decorated, and the main living area and kitchen are amazing, kitchen well stocked with pastries, coffee, granola bars, anything your heart desires. Free and safe parking on premises. Check-in is easy via self check-in. Morgan was absolutely forth coming and took care of everything when expedia messed up, I cannot thank her enough. I would stay here anytime. Simply beautiful!

The house is well cared for, has several areas for relaxation and socialization. It has a fully equipped kitchen which goes unused as breakfast is limited to wrapped muffins, bagels and bread left on the counter with a bowl containing fruit and some packets of instant oatmeal. There are baskets of assorted snacks and juices/beverages available- nice touch. Missed the true sense of a B&B,where you are greeted by a host, get to mingle with guests, and share a prepared breakfast. I guess those types of B&B's are in the past.

Lovely Inn. 1938 original home converted to a 10 bedroom B&B. Recently renovated. Nicely appointed. Super comfortable beds. The property is “self-managed”, meaning you check in with a provided code and help yourself to a wide variety of provided snacks and drinks. A very short walk to some of mid-town’s best dining options.

Beautiful property, quiet, very clean and well maintained. Nice parlor area to sit, relax and socialize as well as an outdoor area for same. Nice self-serve kitchen area (no cooking allowed) with pastries/bagels/coffee/tea and some fruit. Would definitely stay again when visiting Tallahassee.

Place was very nice, but no housekeeping, we had 2 adults for 3 nights and 4 towels and no one to ask. I thought it was funny they had an extra envelope on the nightstand for a tip, since we never seen housekeeping. I would of been happy to tip for some clean towels.

We had a very nice overnight stay. The room was large, clean and well appointed. The bed and bathroom were comfortable. Breakfast options were very limited but the coffee was good and bottomless.

This is a very clean, beautiful home. The room (Destin) is quaint and tastefully decorated, as was the rest of the home. I loved the style and decor and was very excited to relax and enjoy it. However, there are a few issues that need to be addressed. We did not see any staff at all during our stay. Towels were not refreshed, and neither was the ONE roll of toilet paper that we had in our bathroom. I took the liberty of looking in all the closets I could find open but did not find any. We also could not find an iron and ironing board. We attempted to steam our clothes in the shower the night we arrived, but we had no hot water. None. Trust me, we waited and tried the sink and the shower, but the water was cold. The next morning, there was enough warm water for one of us to shower, but the other was left in the cold, which was amplified by the fact that the AC was beyond a reasonable level of coldness. We tried shutting the air vent, but it wouldn't close. The second morning, we had ample hot water; it was wonderful. However, after shampooing my hair, I reached for the conditioner, which was not conditioner—it was body wash. The shower had 2 body washes and one shampoo. With no staff present, I sucked it up and attended my meetings with frizzy hair. So, while the aesthetics and design are commendable, the lack of basic amenities and absence of staff severely impacted our stay. These issues need attention to provide a more comfortable and pleasant experience for guests.

If you are in Tallahassee to visit your kid or for a game, I would highly recommend this place. It’s an old 1920s home with a handful of suites. A few living room areas and plenty of free water, cokes, snacks. The bedding was so nice I took a picture of the tag to buy for my home. We usually stay at the AC Marriot but it was sold out. This was a pleasant surprise. Extremely clean and comfortable

I wish we had found Capitol Inn sooner. We stayed for graduation weekend and it was great! The staff was great, there were plenty of drinks and snacks, it was very clean and well maintained.

The hotel is an older beautiful home, great location. I was unable to bring my son inside at last minute, i was asked to pay $279 to get a room for him. We had no choice but to pay for a room for him. There is no attendant at the hotel when you arrive so you must make sure you have the code to open main door and room before you arrive at the hotel. The house has a strong smell; smells like mold. The beds are not very comfortable. In addition; there was extremely loud music playing in the surrounding areas. Couldn’t fall asleep until around 1 AM. Beautiful rooms, very clean and nicely decorated but quite over priced and not family oriented.

The owners put a lot of thought and expense into this property. It was as described and my room/bathroom was amazing. I was reluctant to do a review because I want to keep this gem to myself but they deserve kudos. Check in was easy. Amenities were thoughtful and accessible. Bed was very comfortable and the place was very quiet so I slept really well. Over the top clean and welcoming. Don't be put off by the location. It is near FSU and better than any hotel as long as you don't mind checking yourself in/breakfast on your own, etc. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you!

We were able to let ourselves in with a code to the surrounding doors that was emailed once we paid and completed our online reservation. A separate code gets you into your room. Know the name of your room, and check for your codes. No one was on the premises when we arrived. Lovely old historic home. No blow dryers but I will know to bring my own next time . Also, we could not get our tv to work on the Samsung account as it could not connect. Also, the WiFi is not secure so I was unable to work. Overall, lovely upgraded historic 1920’s home. Coffee and pastries were waiting in the lovely kitchen in the morning. Great location, and overall kind owner and manager who helped on the phone. Gasden street is one way and traffic often zooms by creating some noise. The Key West room faces the front and we heard the cars. I will stay here again in a different room.

There are blinds on the windows, but no curtains to fully dampen the exterior lights. Proximity is very close to a busy road. There are open grates(vents?) over the doors and a large gap under the door that also let light in and those would also be concerns for noise/privacy when at full occupancy.

First off, I loved the simplicity of “check in”. All I had to do was download an app that helped me unlock the doors. That was literally it. The room was extremely nice, and the bed was very, very comfortable. The tv was very new and big. The only negatives I have are that the shower handle was kinda of broken, but I still managed to turn on and off the shower. There was also no AC control (at least that I could find), but the room was cool and comfortable anyways. Just wish there was a fan instead. Honestly, those are completely minor complaints. The Capital Inn was a great find, and I will definitely look to stay there again in the near future.

Greeting, parking, location and staff was great! The place was very clean , bed was amazing and the decor and kitchen is nice. Walkable to the park and lake which was the main reason we picked it. However, I agree with some of the other ratings: the light from outside does peek through the wood shutters and blackout curtains are needed. You can also hear the noise not just from outside, but just from next door. We stayed in the Naples room and could hear the next room’s snoring and conversation. Greeting, parking, location and staff was great! The place was very clean , bed was amazing and the decor and kitchen is nice. Walkable to the park and lake which was the main reason we picked it. However, I agree with some of the other ratings: the light from outside does peek through the wood shutters and blackout curtains are needed. You can also hear the noise not just from outside, but just from next door. We stayed in the Naples room and could hear the next room’s snoring and conversation. I’d also say the shower pressure (and just the general amount of water that came out) was pretty average.

The Inn was beautiful. The room was too cold, the whole end is controlled by one thermostat. The room was too noisy, you can hear the traffic passing by at night; you can hear people coming in, sitting around talking, laughing and on their phone. The hotel is an older beautiful home, great location. I was unable to bring my son inside at last minute, i was asked to pay $279 to get a room for him. We had no choice but to pay for a room for him. There is no attendant at the hotel when you arrive so you must make sure you have the code to open main door and room before you arrive at the hotel. The house has a strong smell; smells like mold. The beds are not very comfortable. In addition; there was extremely loud music playing in the surrounding areas. Couldn’t fall asleep until around 1 AM. Beautiful rooms, very clean and nicely decorated but quite over priced and not family oriented.

We love this Inn. It’s so beautiful and peaceful. This was our second time staying in the Miami room. When we checked in it was very hot in our room. It was late, but we called the emergency number and they fixed it immediately. we will be back soon.

We were able to let ourselves in with a code to the surrounding doors that was emailed once we paid and completed our online reservation. A separate code gets you into your room. Know the name of your room, and check for your codes. No one was on the premises when we arrived. Lovely old historic home. No blow dryers but I will know to bring my own next time . Also, we could not get our tv to work on the Samsung account as it could not connect. Also, the WiFi is not secure so I was unable to work. Overall, lovely upgraded historic 1920’s home. Coffee and pastries were waiting in the lovely kitchen in the morning. Great location, and overall kind owner and manager who helped on the phone. Gasden street is one way and traffic often zooms by creating some noise. The Key West room faces the front and we heard the cars. I will stay here again in a different room.

Absolutely fantastic, and there’s a reason this establishment’s rating is so high! Anyone traveling for FSU family weekends knows how awful the local accommodations can be, but the Capitol Inn easily sets the gold standard. Absolutely the first place I will look for future stays. Property manager was super attentive and texted/called to ensure I had no questions about accessing the room. The room itself was immaculate and very clean. Really can’t say enough good things.

First time in Tallahassee for an FSU campus tour and so glad we chose The Capitol Inn! It truly exceeded our expectations. Super close/easy drive to the school which was a big plus+. Both the Inn’s shared spaces and bedrooms were pristine in terms of cleanliness, and we could tell a lot of effort went into curating aesthetic space decor and making guests feel welcome (including a sweet welcome/snack basket and a happy hour upon arrival). Nothing but great things to comment on the guest service as well - I personally had a few interactions with the GM (Morgan) for inquiries and a special request, and she was so pleasant and positive and accommodating! I will 100% be booking here again when in town and will be recommending this place to family & friends visiting their students. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This is a nice clean property that is very convenient to the State Capitol. Very nicely appointed room and bathroom. Lovely park across the street. Check in was simple & convenient! I only have a couple of suggestions: the hot water in the shower took a long while to get warm and much longer to get hot. There are blinds on the windows, but no curtains to fully dampen the exterior lights. Proximity is very close to a busy road. There are open grates(vents?) over the doors and a large gap under the door that also let light in and those would also be concerns for noise/privacy when at full occupancy.

If we come back to Tallahassee again, we would stay here again. The midtown/Lake Ella area is very walkable with plenty of food and drink options and it is central to everything else going on. The hotel itself has a great contactless check in and is both comfortable and very clean inside.

Great stay. Really great location as well as a great place to stay. I believe it's an updated "old house" that's exceptionally charming. Kitchen is stocked with waters, sodas, snacks, etc. Room was very comfortable and well stocked. Will definitely return.

This place is so cute. Self check in was easy & quick, thanks to an email & phone call from the hotel. The room was spacious, clean & beautifully decorated. A welcome basket of snacks was a pleasant surprise. The bed & linens were very comfortable. I didn’t like that there wasn’t a door on the shower. Nice toiletries in the bathroom. My only regret is that I couldn’t stay longer.

The inn is tastefully decorated … clean, not cluttered, charming, modern bathrooms, kitchen, a very special place. The bedding was nice and mattress was comfortable. The basket of water and snacks and Happy Hour drinks were a nice touch. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast items. The check-in process, parking was easy. I can’t think of anything I would change. Also, beautiful park across the street with trails. This will be our number one choice for accommodations when we return to Tallahassee!

Free and safe parking on premises. Check-in is easy via self check-in. Morgan was absolutely forth coming and took care of everything when expedia messed up, I cannot thank her enough. I would stay here anytime. Simply beautiful!

It has a fully equipped kitchen which goes unused as breakfast is limited to wrapped muffins, bagels and bread left on the counter with a bowl containing fruit and some packets of instant oatmeal. Just wow. This is an amazing hotel/inn. If I ever need a hotel in Tallahassee, I will only stay at this place from now on. The common area was very nice, the rooms squeaky clean, the beds super comfortable, and the shower in the miami room may be the coolest shower I've ever been in. My wife and I had an amazing experience. They don't even mention on the website that they provide coffee, pastries, and cliff/granola bars for breakfast. Oh, and did I mention they have a very nice kitchen/shared dining area with a large fridge? I wish more cities had places like this. I highly recommend The Capitol Inn.

Great location, clean, very nice rooms, lack of control over the A/C and thin walls can be a problem... in our case it was freezing all night and I didn't have a sweatshirt with me so I wore 3 shirts... also there is no breakfast/treats service in the summer which needs to be stated on the listing. If you need to communicate with the host do not use the e-mail/messaging service as it is just a bot. Bring coffee creamer, earplugs, and a sweatshirt. Otherwise, it's quaint and nice.

After lugging all of our things downstairs to the lower level, we entered the room only to realize it had not been cleaned from the previous guests. Trash in the trash can, towels on the floor, bed disheveled. I messaged the property, then called and left a message. After a few minutes, I called again and luckily someone picked up. While they did relocate us, there was no apology nor empathy of any kind from the gentleman on the phone, he simply muttered something about dates getting mixed up. If I was the manager or owner of this property, I would have been horrified and at the VERY LEAST offered an apology. The next morning, we went into the kitchen to check out the continental breakfast of bagels, coffee, juice, etc. as advertised on their website, but there was nothing there. When I messaged the property and asked, they answered (8 hours later) that it was only during legislative session and football season, then went and removed the false advertisement from their website.
