This hotel is convenient for visiting the city centre, cathedral and shops. My only criticism is that we were not forewarned about off site chargeable parking. This is not clear on the Hotel.com website. Staff and facilities at the hotel can't be faulted.

Enjoyed staying in this historic place. Room was very nice. Staff is excellent. It was unseasonably warm and because it’s a historical property there is no ac so it was very warm. Excellent high quality fan in room made it bearable.

Exceptional staff, exceptional food, just all around exceptional! Location is great and walkable to Salisbury Cathedral/Magna Carter and the Salisbury Market/Old George Mall. Disclaimer: The Chapter House is from the 16th century so the floors creaked and are uneven with no lift. The reception is a small desk at the bar. Overall, still has a lovely and charming stay. Only downside is we stayed one night and would've loved to stay longer.

Considering It's a 16th century hotel, it's been very well preserved give its age. The restaurant is great , amazing steak. Very nice staff. Only one thing bothered me, because it's an old place so there's no AC, it happened I was there at the hottest day in the summer. Even they were nice to set a Dyson fan in the room, it was still too hot at night! Couldn't really sleep at all, I can't complain about the hotel itself, just bad timing I guess

Stayed for 1 night in The Chapter House, Salisbury, wished the stay was longer. This stunning 16th Century hotel and restaurant is located right in the heart of Salisbury, walking distance from the cathedral, located directly opposite the hotel, market square and numerous other city centre attractions. There is no car parking on site, however, on arrival by car, stop outside the hotel entrance and obtain a 24-hour parking voucher for a nearby car park, literally 2 minutes walk from the hotel. The £8 cost will be added to your bill. The beautiful, but very old bedrooms are exquisite, especially the executive rooms. Although 16th Century, the bedrooms have every facility you would require, including iron, ironing board, safe, electric fan. The large bed is extremely comfortable with high class sheets, pillows and pillowcases etc. We ate in the Chapter House restaurant which matched the bedrooms for quality. Booking is highly recommended to avoid disappointment. All four of our dining party ordered steak, which is probably one of the best steaks I have ever eaten, sentiments shared by all four of us. Good sized portions, perfectly cooked and delicious. Overall, a faultless stay in a fabulous perfectly situated, historic hotel.

Unique ancient house restored as much as they can. Great staff and fantastic breakfast. Parking lot is a block and an half away for $8. We had a very comfy bed and a lovely shower. The pub serves first class grilled beef. Great experience.

Character-filled very old property. The stairs are wonky, the floor is creaky, and the night door (inset into a huge wooden door, which is closed at night) is tiny. In short, you can’t miss you staying in a 16-century house. But it is comfortable (beds, showers), the breakfast is delicious, and the staff friendly.

Gracious staff. Delicious breakfast buffet. Great location near the cathedral. Our room was nice but small. The wonky stairs (and no elevator) means this wouldn't be a good choice for anyone with mobility issues.

It is an old hotel (antique in fact giving it’s been operating for 800 years), so no wall are straight, floors are uneven, hallways are narrow, and there is no elevator. But the conditions are ell kept, and the staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. We would definitely stay there again

Our stay was amazing. The room was spacious, quaint and felt like we had gone back in time. The building was 800 years old, so the floors and stairs were uneven, but it only added to the charm. We loved it! The bathrooms were modernized and spotless. Breakfast was cooked to order along with a buffet. It was delicious. The staff was delightful. They couldn't have been any better. The location was close to the cathedral and about a 20 minute walk to the train station.

The Chapter House was amazing. You can feel the history of the place when you visit. The modern comfort and cleanliness in such an old and historic building is nothing short of brilliant. The two rooms were furnished beautifully. Dining on site was delicious and the staff were lovely. I could see Salisbury Cathedral’s spire from my window and the cathedral is just a few short minutes walk away.

Had a lovely stay at the Chapter House. The hotel building is beautiful full of character and quirky. Our room was lovely. Very comfortable bed and nice bathroom with cathedral view. Staff were very professional and helpful. The only negative was the underwhelming breakfast but there are lots of eating places close by. Would definitely recommend hotel but give breakfast a miss next time

Staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. One of the ladies saved the day by getting us a cab to Southampton in time for our cruise. We were going to Uber and found out there are no Ubers in Salisbury. Do not know her name but we are eternally grateful.

The Chapter House amazing! Staff were wonderful and couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect. Little extras that made us feel very special. The room was gorgeous and the bed so comfortable. Five stars isn’t enough for this place! Would highly recommend for a stay in Sailsbury. It’s the only place to go.

Check in was very easy, staff friendly & helpful. Area is ok, parking 2 min walk. We had one of the new annex rooms, very nice! Had a problem with the shower & were offered a different room.

Property is an old period property with lots of character. The welcome on arrival by a gentleman was very friendly and he showed us to our rooms which was a lovely touch lovely warm welcome. The reason for the not selecting full stars is due to being kept awake most of the night due to noise from outside - very loud drilling and banging sounded like roadworks being completed so loud it woke me up at 3am and after numerous attempts it kept me awake all night (it takes a lot to keep me awake as I'm a really deep sleeper). Appreciate you can't stop this but if we had been made aware that road works were being completed outside our window throughout the night we would of asked for a refund and selected a different hotel as we had a meeting at 9am so was really tired all day. Breakfast was lovely lots of choice and the cooked option was lovely. The welcome in the morning was not very friendly and we appeared to be an inconvenience to the young lady who came across very differently to the happy friendly gentlemen we met in the morning sadly. Overall a lovely hotel, just a shame about the sleepless night and unwelcoming staff at breakfast.

Being so old The Chapter House must be a nightmare to maintain but the crew do it well and all those I met went out of their way to make my stay pleasant and comfortable. I was impressed as I felt they genuinely cared.

No hot water or heating. Despite attempts to fix the problem by the hotel, we had to check-out and find alternate accommodation. We understand boiler issues happen, but when the staff were questioned about it they were insistent there was not an issue. We did subsequently receive a refund for our booking and the Owner/Director did later acknowledge that there was a problem and sorry we had to endure the consequences.

This hotel is convenient for visiting the city centre, cathedral and shops. My only criticism is that we were not forewarned about off site chargeable parking. This is not clear on the Hotel.com website. Staff and facilities at the hotel can't be faulted.

Great old hotel with real character. Wood paneled walls and fireplace, but still had a comfortable bed and modern bathroom. To top it off, the morning breakfast was great. Would definitely stay here again. Very close to Stonehenge.

I was literally 6 minutes away from the cathedral and the main shopping. The hotel was very quaint. Breakfast was excellent as was the staff. I wish I had had time to use the enormous tub!

It’s a lovely property in a very convenient location for the city centre and the rail station. The staff were brilliant! I am disabled and they were very helpful. Old, Grade II listed buildings can be a real accessibility challenge but they were as accommodating as possible and very kind. I hope to be able to return in the future.

The Chapter House was amazing. You can feel the history of the place when you visit. The modern comfort and cleanliness in such an old and historic building is nothing short of brilliant. The two rooms were furnished beautifully. Dining on site was delicious and the staff were lovely. I could see Salisbury Cathedral’s spire from my window and the cathedral is just a few short minutes walk away.

Great hotel in an excellent location for visiting Salisbury. In a medieval building, we had huge oak beams in our bedroom. Opposite St Anne’s gate, for a short walk to the cathedral and the rest of the city. Convenient parking very nearby. To top it all, excellent restaurant with great steaks. If you’re visiting Salisbury this is a great place to stay.

One of my new favourite hotels. An old place fixed up nice. Room was very comfortable, excellent bed, bathrooms have been modernly renovated. We asked the cab driver (a £6 cab to Salisbury station) for restaurant recommendations and he replied “you’re staying there”! Turns out they have a very popular restaurant that serves some of the best steaks I’ve had. They age their own beef, the menu was superb. Breakfast was awesome, custom made Eggs Benny and full English breakfast, along with fresh croissants, fruit,etc. Staff was genuinely friendly. Right across the street from St Anne’s gate to the Cathedral. A few blocks to the Market Square and lots of good places to eat. Highly recommended.

The rooms are old but quite charming and the amenities in the room were the same you'd expect at any hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The included breakfast was fantastic. We also sat down in their restaurant for dinner and I can honestly say it was one of the best we had all around England!

We loved the bathroom: large bath and separate shower with good quality toiletries. Separate loo. Subtle lighting to see the way to the bathroom at night. The only small criticism is the Sunday breakfast ran out of items that were not replenished and staff although very polite were a little over-stretched.

It was a historicity and charming house with lovely people. The room and food was amazing. But we did ask for a room for 4 and got only 3 sleeping places.. but the smallest one of us was able to squeeze in! After all a beautiful hotel

The Hotel and the bar +restaurant are all amazing. My room was clean comfortable and as I was there on a hot week they'd put a Dyson blade in my room and left it running plus kept the curtains closed. The restaurant was kept cool too The bed was just right firm but with a pillowy top and the . The towels were well sized and soft. No The decor even down to the accessories complemeted the beautiful building. The room and bathroom were spacious and spotless. Rooms were cleaned daily. The staff are amazing throughout, helpful, friendly The breakfast was delicious with a great options ; cereals, granolos , droed and fresh fruit, yoghurt toast and jams etc. The hot food was cooked to order by filling in a form the night before . I'd recommend the eggs Benedict with lovely streaky bacon . The only minor niggles are that the water in shower was a bit erratiic and the instant coffee was Nescafé . Coffee bags and mugs would make it even better. The Nespresso was quite fun . I'd highly recommend The Chapter House
