This is a great place to stay if you have a late flight into Bilbao. They offer a free shuttle to and from the airport and took our bags in bag check all day while we explored the city. There is also lots of parking if you have a car or rented a car. It's not in a location that is near anything though, so don't expect that and it would have been good to have a pool and a workout room. We could tell there wasn't a pool from the listing but I was just hoping for a workout room since it's a Holiday Inn. The breakfast in the morning was also good. The room we had which had two single beds (ushed together) and a couch bed was pretty crammed to fit all the people with our bags/luggage, which would have been really difficult if we had stayed here a long time. But all in all this was a fine stop for our trip.

Hotel is 5 minutes from the airport, had a comfy bed and courteous staff. We needed the shuttle 4 times, but were only able to use it twice because we didn't receive a message back for the first trip to the hotel, and it didn't show up when we went into town and needed it for the way home (we waited long enough that 2 shuttles should have arrived, but neither did). So if the shuttle is a big deal, the other airport hotel may be more reliable?

Everything was fine except we waited for the shuttle from the airport which never did show up and so we had to get in a taxi. We even called to find out where it was and they said it wasn’t at the hotel so it must be at the airport. The hotel needs to have better communication with the shuttle. We waited for an hour and the hotel is only 5min away. They did compensate us with a drink at the bar.

The hotel shuttle service starts at 5:00am and runs every 30 minutes which is very helpful for early flights. We dropped our rental car at the airport the night before and took the shuttle to the hotel. This was a good idea because there is very limited parking at the hotel.

This is a perfectly serviceable airport hotel, one of two major ones very near the Bilbao airport. Fairly basic compared to a "fancy" hotel in the city, and (like 99% of European hotels) lacking washcloths. But, comfy beds, quiet rooms, an excellent breakfast spread, a decent bar, and really a short ride to the city. What's not to love? The airport shuttle starts at 5 a.m. and has limited capacity. But, the staff is well aware of the early morning flight schedule to get everyone there in plenty of time. It's like an 8-minute roundtrip from hotel to terminal. 😎

We were at shuttle area between 22:45 and 22:50 and waited until 23.15. Contacted hotel and were told it left at 22:45 so we had catch a taxi for 12 euros. Reception and breakfast staff very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast.

Husband and I only stayed a night.Breakfast was excellent. A good variety.We decided to take the bus. Bus stop is nearby.Not punctual. As we waited the shuttle service was around the clock. Staff was wery friendly. I think the shower needed a little attention, moldy.

The common area is very nice and updated. The rooms are not there were mode due between the grout line. The tub was old and the towers were tired. The shuttle service was marginal leaving was good but coming from the airport the driver didn’t bother to stop. Literally just did a drive-by.

The staff at check-in and check-out were very helpful and professional. The shuttle to the airport is exceptionally convenient. The breakfast is great. Everything is ideal. The bathrooms are a bit outdated but clean. The noise level is a problem at this hotel, however. Twice I had trouble sleeping because guests in rooms next door or above were loud. It's a soundproofing problem with the building. You can hear through the wall as if they are paper thin.

Hot! Heat was on in room The air conditioning was stated to be on but alas it was heat. Went to sightsee and came back to temperatures of 88 degrees. We do not mind using a fan and window for cooling the room but the instructions were in correct and it was a poor sleep due to temperature. We had a large flying bug in our room. The front desk was not available to come and take care of this. We called many times without assistance.

Hotel was fine but our room was very warm 30C (86F). We cranked the AC down and went to diner. When we returned, the temperature was the same, AC was NOT cooling down. We contacted the front desk and they told us this was "normal" and the AC unit was running fine. I live in Florida so I know when an AC unit is working or not.... We asked to get another room and they said it was NOT necessary since the AC was "working fine". After 90 minutes of arguing, I asked to be refunded so I could go to another hotel. I asked to talk to the manager and they said he could not be reached... WHAT ??? They finally magically found another room and asked me to check the temperature to see if it was OK for us. This room was much better 25C(77F) so we moved our stuff. I rent hotel rooms at least 30 times a year. I never complain but this was a very unacceptable way to handle a customer. Otherwise, for the rest, the hotel was fine and breakfast was good,

Rooms are very old and weathered. No water bottle provided in the room. Spanish only television. Expedia booking of 2 rooms was not recognized and check in was over 30 minutes as a result. It was 31C and the shuttle bus driver did not turn on air conditioning. Holiday Inn and Expedia should be embarrassed about this property.

We checked in to the hotel fairly quickly, however we were given a room with three single beds instead of at least a double bed, since it was inconvenient for my wife and I sleeping in separate beds. And my wife tried two beds trying to find one that was comfortable, as she said it had something in the middle of the mattress that made it hard to sleep. During the 2nd evening, the room temperature was at 24C. and I tried to set it to 19C. before going to sleep. I woke up about 90 minutes later as the room was extremely hot. I found that the heater had gone on automatically and the room was now over 28C and climbing. I called down to the desk and they told me that the A/C was turned off so there was no way to cool off the room, and they suggested I turn off the thermostat and let the room cool down. In order to do this I had to open the window and it took over an hour to cool down the room enough to be able to sleep. I would suggest the hotel put a note on the thermostat during the Fall/Winter that says there is no way to cool off the room and to turn off the thermostat to lower the temperature.

The property is extremely close to the Bilbao airport so that was great and so was the free parking. Unfortunately, the property is also older and getting worn down, the decor is dated, the carpets threadbare and the ventilation/ac unit in the room was completely useless. I do see that they have started some renovation work which is a good sign and hopefully that will modernize everything again. The price was great though and the restaurant onsite was decent.

I had booked three rooms for one night, Siri reservation confirmed days ago. Upon arrival it turned out that they had only one of the rooms booked and no notion of the other two, the hotel was fully booked and we had to find two rooms for my colleague in a neighbouring hotel. Stayed before our flight out. It’s in a suburban area right near the Bilbao airport. Shuttle was very convenient, breakfast was free and offered plentiful variety. Staff was very friendly. Maybe a $35 euro cab ride into the city if that is in your plans. Would stay again.

Ideal for lay over,free bus to&from airport,idustrial area but can get under road at back of hotel if you wish to have nice walk,there is a walking&bike trail at top of hill,limited menue pizza&meatballs&couple ofther options,restaurant next door with more extensive menue but looked a bit cafe like&pricey for spain

Very nice facility with excellent service at front desk. The airport shuttle is very convenient and had no trouble making a 7AM departure. The breakfast is super and starts at 5Am. I was really disappointed because I thought this would be more of an American style hotel. What is more American than Holiday Inn? Also I thought the hotel was pretty new but the first room they assigned us had the AC control pulled out of the wall. The second room had problems with the shower and also mold in the shower. The food options in the restaurant are also very limited. There seems so be just one other restaurant nearby and they told me to look on Google maps to find it. Really? What happened to providing menus for places that will deliver food or are nearby? You know...that stack of menus you usually see in American hotels? With that said, the staff was nice and the hotel shuttle was great so it served our purpose well. Just know there is not anything to do around the hotel. You would have to take a cab or transit to see anything in Bilbao from this hotel.

The breakfast area was dirty indeed. To make it worse, when you asked the staff to clean the table so we could use it, he cleaned it partially and throwing leftovers to the floor and never picked it up. We experienced the same problem the two days we stayed. This greatly penalizes all the other good things from the hotel, up to the point that I don't recommend staying at this place
