Beautiful hotel for the area! I grew up coming to Alpena for the summer to spend with family and this hotel is such an upgrade. We have stayed at all the others and this is by far the nicest and cleanest! The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The snack area was a huge hit for my daughter and the pool was super nice. Will be booking here again!

We booked 3 rooms last minute through expedia to celebrate and use the pool to relax after my daughter graduated and we finished her grad open house. We checked in between 5-6pm. At about 6:45pm when i called the desk to ask a question i was then informed the pool was closed and had been since the hotel opened. Nowhere throughout booking was there any mention of the hotel pool being down. The front desk person, Garrett was very polite and even called another hotel regarding us using their pool, which they allowed us to, until 9pm, giving us 1 hour to swim. We wasted a hell of a lot of money on rooms for nothing. We live local and stay locally on a regular basis. We will stick with Days Inn.

The ledge in the shower was very dirty. The worst issue is the irons and ironing boards. The irons are poorly designed and easily fall over. My first ironing board had melted plastic on it that got on the iron and my shirt. I got another iron and ironing board from the front desk - prompt and friendly service. The second ironing board had three scorch marks on it. This is a safety issue. The staff was excellent and friendly.

This hotel is new as of April 2025, so it is very clean and new! The desk clerk was very professional and friendly, and even upgraded us. Our King Suite was gorgeous and spacious. Minor complaints that the doors are very heavy so when people come and go - it is loud. We used our sound maker to buffer the noise at night. Breakfast was great, offering the usual options but very tidy and tended to, and plenty of seating!

Clean, new property, very helpful staff. The walls are incredibly thin, I had a first floor room and couldn’t sleep with road traffic, hearing and feeling people walking upstairs, snoring coming from some direction, and hearing other toilets flushing.

Check in was quick and friendly. Upon entry to room the heat was not on, took about 2 1/2 hours to warm room up to 70deg. Slept in winter hat and coat. Shower needs to be primed before going into overhead shower mode. No milk for morning breakfast, asked and they said they ran out at 7am. No toothbrushes available for guests.

The breakfast could be better.Love the grits our first time seeing it. We stayed at the hotel for 5 days, on 1 of the morning a blond girl served raw grits it was terrible when we had a mouthful of raw grits. I mentioned it to her, she took it to the back and brought it back out and we thought she fixed it,but all she did was stirring it up.Someone went to complain and a manager went to the kitchen , I don't know what happened after that we were done with the grits that day. The most annoying thing in the room WAS the toilet paper roll holder, that toilet paper holder is the worst invention. It's frustrating when we use the toilet paper, it falls off the holder, and roll onto the floor we constantly have to pick it up.

I was disappointed with the breakfast selection, being gluten-free. Plus Saturday morning there was hardly anything left when we got down there. Though I don't know their situations, I thought the desk staff handled the cranky clients well. Good job :)

very disappointed. We waited about 15 minutes before anyone came to the front desk. After check in we went up to the 3rd floor and our room was not ready. Had to wait another 15 minutes before that was rectify. They did give us a upgrade to a suite on the first floor. So that makes up for it. Staff needs a major trainee program. Hampton Inn needs to recruit to bring in more qualified help and train them.

The place is brand new, so everything is in great condition. However, when the staff started fixing breakfast, banging pots and pans, talking loud, and waking me up at 4:45 am, not good. I even went out and told them to keep ot down, i was sleeping. They didn't.

9/11/25. Everything from start to finish was great. This is a new hotel, it's only been operating for 5 months. Check in was easy and the person we spoke to, Chris, was so helpful. He made sure we got a room away from the elevators, and the room was great. Very clean and well equipped with plenty of soft, fluffy towels. TV was easy to use, attached to the wall but movable. Breakfast was very good, plenty of hot food to choose from.

I mentioned it to her, she took it to the back and brought it back out and we thought she fixed it,but all she did was stirring it up.Someone went to complain and a manager went to the kitchen , I don't know what happened after that we were done with the grits that day. The most annoying thing in the room WAS the toilet paper roll holder, that toilet paper holder is the worst invention. It's frustrating when we use the toilet paper, it falls off the holder, and roll onto the floor we constantly have to pick it up.

The breakfast could be better.Love the grits our first time seeing it. We stayed at the hotel for 5 days, on 1 of the morning a blond girl served raw grits it was terrible when we had a mouthful of raw grits. Beautiful and clean hotel. The staff were all very nice and friendly. Check in was a little slow, but seamless otherwise. The bedsheets were nice and the room and bathroom clean, however, we found the bed to be very firm. The mattress is on a platform, not a box spring. We kept waking up due to shoulder pain and hip pain from the firmness. If you are young, it probably won’t bother you! The breakfast was very good. We had them email us the receipt and it wasn’t till after we left we looked at it and were shocked that they tacked on a “self parking fee” of $5.55 on top of the Hotels.com agreed upon price. We were never told we would have to pay to use the hotel parking lot, which should be included in the hotel price.

Room was very stuffy on the 4th floor couldn't open any windows bathtub was moldy could not believe it for a hotel that was less than a year old. Breakfast was terrible the egg runny sausage cold along with the potatoes after check out went to the local McDonald's for a hot cup of coffee and something to eat as the were out of coffee. How does that happen stayed here on a recommendation of a family member. I have been coming up to alpena for 30 years because my parents lived here this was among one of the worst nights in all my stays and I have stayed in every hotel in Town. I wouldn't recommend staying at this hotel

The hotel was in excellent shape. The rooms were great.The amenities were good. There was an incidence and a scare with the elevator. Where the attendant there, that night told us we were not allowed to use it.It was making noises and jumping up-and-down.That was a bit scary , but other than that , everything was great
