We had booked a superior double room for 3 nights at a very low price and were looking forward to our stay. However, when we arrived after a day's work and 4 hours driving we were told that our booking had been cancelled and there was no superior double room available for 3 nights. When it became obvious that nothing had been cancelled from our side and I had received an email earlier on asking if the checking in had gone well we were offered a shabby standard double room with the curtains hanging off the rails. We were made to feel that we should be grateful to get a room at all since we paid so little. Then we were asked if we had a car and made to feel that we should at least pay £30 for parking which we did because we were made to feel so uncomfortable. On the road parking is free over night and we were not there during the day, so would have paid a fraction of that price. Even though breakfast was generally quite good, it was cold he first morning. The second morning we had to wait for half an hour until the buffet was stocked up again. The third morning we came down a bit later but still well withing the breakfast serving time. Most of the tables were covered in dirty dishes and there were neither mushrooms nor tomatoes left. Nobody came to clear tables or find out if anything was needed. So all in all, this had been a very disappointing experience.
