Great stay, excellent breakfast and parking accessible (even though some guests decide to not park in a authorised space). The only issue in my room 19 was the radiator was on full, and no way of turning down, so had to open windows and then road noise kept waking me. I did enjoy my stay though.

Parking easy, lovely and cosy, great atmosphere

Clean warm room with comfy beds. Friendly staff, good food. The live music Saturday night was a bit too loud for us but most people seemed to enjoy it. Good parking but only two of the four EV chargers were working. Octopus Electroverse worked fine. Overall good value, would stay again

Lovely hotel, and fantastic staff. My bed was super comfy and they gave me loads of pillows (a necessity that most hotels neglect to provide). The room was quiet, and I slept like a baby. The bar is great. Dining room is pretty standard, the food was fine.

Hotel was exactly what one would expect from a decent pub chain - nothing to rave about but nothing to really complain about. Only limitation is that although it claims to have “Accessible” rooms there are no walk in showers nor support rails for disabled persons

Overall the experience was good BUT there is NO lift AND there is plenty of room for one to be installed. The stairs are awkward with luggage.

Lovely stay in historic hotel. Bar and eating are downstairs was welcoming and fun - food was good. Lots of Parking.

Comfortable and quiet room, friendly and approachable staff, plenty of space in the on-site car park.

Booked a room with 4 poster bed, was very comfortable and warm (despite very low outdoor temps!). Room was spacious, with good size bathroom, with bath or shower available. Extra seating in room was nice for TV viewing, everything very clean and well presented. Only downside there is no lift to upper floors. Restaurant meals and breakfast very good.

Ideal for an overnight stay if on the move from south to north or vice versa. Rooms a bit basic but do the job and a good price. Good on site parking just a few meters off the main road. Very good breakfast and stopped off on the way back for an evening meal which was also good and a sensible price. Much better option than the Air Balloon just down the road which is always busy and full of itself. Having said that, should keep this one to myself!

The room facilities weren’t great. The unsecured Wi-Fi doesn’t pass cyber security measures and there was no effective mobile signal. The TV and radio channels were extremely limited to only BBC, ITV, And C4/5. The room wasn’t hoovered during the stay. Power sockets were hidden behind tables so charging phones was difficult. The shaver power socket was dead. There were no tissues in the room. Given the lack of facilities, it was a challenging stay for a solo traveller (two of my four nights) and it made planning the days out harder. It would have been useful to have more details about what was going on locally - including that the very nearby English Heritage Roman Villa was closed but the local area was great. The staff were ok - not massively friendly. For a Greene King property it was either sad or amusing to overhear them heavily criticise Fullers pubs. It felt like the property was more orientated to weddings and events rather than stays. The food was a tad expensive for what it was.

It is a fine old building in a lovely part of the country. The reception staff were very helpful, even assisting us without question to change rooms when we found the room we were given had a small window and was dark and with little fresh air. Poor lighting was a feature of both rooms, with bulbs being severely low wattage or just not working. Room cleaning was great however. We were a little bemused by one or two bar staff, who seemed to be untrained in good bar work such as noticing their customers in order of appearance and remembering them from one round to the next. Breakfast - Continental - was good. Overall, a mixed experience that could have been better with a little extra time and care at all levels.

The hotel is OK, looking a bit tired in places, but perfectly good for a couple of nights. The problem seems to be in the restaurant. Both nights there was something forgotten from the order. We sat at the same table both nights and the same bit of food that obviously fallen off someones plate was there both nights. Breakfast food was good but how an organisation the size of Greene King can't manage to have proper de-caff coffee is beyond me (we were given a sachet and a pot of hot water and told to make it ourselves). I also heard one person told that they don't have de-caff tea. They can buy a pack of that in a supermarket and put it in a pot... Overall it was OK for 2 nights but the restaurant is pot luck.

The actual hotel is idyllically situated in a gorgoues cotswold village location, the venue offers a lovely bar and dining experience as well as a more formal dining room ... and that for us is where the loveliness began and ended. With the cost of things the way they are in this current day, we accept that nothing is cheap anymore and at best, trying to get value for your money is a struggle to say the least. So, we paid our £120 for a double room (Not inc breakfast) and whilst the rooms was okay, it was certainly in need for some TLC to say the least. To fair, it was clean(ish) and the bed was comfortable but again, thats where the good ends. The decor is beyond tired, the bathroom was really shabby (indluding a dented bin and a horrible plastic wall mounted hand pump), the bedding and furnishing is in great need of replacing and the television and remote (that was held together with sellotape) simply needs removing, binning & replacing. Our overall stay was nice enough but I'd rather have paid a little more and recieved a little more. I guess it just about does what it says on the tin. How ever, marketing as a wedding venue is questionable... when spending any money these days you really do want to feel the guest is the priority. We dined in the bar, we found the menu & food to be lovely, the staff were all super too ... a shame that despite several requests from other guests previously that they don't offer a cheese board dessert option but other than that, a really de

Lovely local area. Room warm, clean and tidy. Breakfast was really, really good. - No sockets by the bedside. Couldn't charge devices over night there. Appreciate it's an old building. Cables could be run around the side though?? - On arrival, staff made us feel like an imposition. We ordered food from the bar (chips) but then a live band started playing and it was impossible to hear one another. We (2 of us) asked if it would be possible to sit in the restaurant area where it was quieter (there were still guests there from earlier). The member of staff we spoke to was rather unkind about it all. A simple "Really sorry we can't... You could try sitting..." would have been totally fine.

Rooms are a bit tired and dated but quiet and the bed was comfortable. Excellent shower. Food was pretty good - it’s pub food but fairly priced. All in all, pretty good value for the price.

Lovely room, nice big bed that I found comfortable - large bathroom and bath. Quiet in room, everything you'd need/want. Shame about some of the portion sizes in the restaurant and lack of many items on the menu.

The hotel was very noisy in the first half of the night , but from about 11pm it seem to quiet down. Bed was very comfortable and the hotel itself was beautiful and charming..

The receptionist who checked us in was friendly, and the room was a good size and clean. The bed was comfortable and i slept well. The water for the bath / shower was also nice and warm. We ate dinner in the restaurant - a good choice of food and ours was nice. The only small negative was the WiFi where i kept having to reconnect.

Second time I've stayed here, only issue is breakfasts seem to be a bit disorganised; both times I've stayed here, I've been forgotten! Having said that, every staff member is super friendly, and super helpful and the rooms are comfortable and clean. I'm in the area at least once a month for work, so I'll continue to stay here, as the bed, breakfast and dinner deal is great value and keeps our accounts dept happy! Just don't forget me at breakfast! 🙂

Electric charging points weren't working. Don't think they have been everytime we have been. Food was excellent. Saturday evening service was very slow though..Waited 60 minutes for our food. I apreciate they were busy but 60 minutes for a burger and gammon was a bit excessive. Have stayed here a number of times. Lovely place. Will stop again.

Lady at reception very welcoming and friendly. The hotel itself is a little tired looking but our room was great, clean and comfortable. Went to the bar for a drink but found the bartender extremely unfriendly and in a bad mood. Paid extra for breakfast the next morning which was very good. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall, it was a decent stay (for the lower price). There’s a walking path with views that runs behind the property. The food was really good, though service in the restaurant was terrible; the service staff were all pretty inexperienced and rude. Still, good food though! The room was all that you’d expect.

Beautiful area and wonderful place to stay. Room had a sunny terrace beside beer garden and walks out through woods. Food was excellent and served very quickly. We really enjoyed it here. The staff were really friendly and efficient too. We felt very welcome.

Beautiful building, perfectly located for any visit to the Cotswolds. The breakfast is excellent and very good value for money. The staff are very friendly and courteous. Can’t recommend it enough.

Hotel is in a lovely location. We were able to join the Cotswold Way from the grounds of the hotel to go for a walk which had stunning views! The hotel room is clean, comfy and quite spacious. I would say it is a little tired in places however it hasn't spoilt our trip! We ate in the restaurant on Sunday evening and the food was delicious! Overall, a very enjoyable trip!

comfortable rooms, excellent location for visiting our family in Cheltenham, right on the Cotswold way which we wanted to walk. Food excellent

We had everything we needed here and the staff were very helpful. We were walking the Cotswold Way and this place is right along the path. They also offered trail lunches. It’s nothing fancy but a nice meal, bed and bath and great service made it a really good stay.

Staff at reception, in the bar and who clean the hotel rooms were excellent. All friendly and welcoming. Great to have pub facilities for eating and while the food is average at best, it's convenient. Great location to visit everywhere across the Cotswolds and easy access to the M5. Room was cozy, comfortable and quiet and we would definitely stay here again.

One night stopover. Selected for economic pricing and realistically you get what you pay for. Older pub with rooms. Superficially tired but kept clean and spruced up in some places with new paint. Exterior has scaffolding (December 23) but it shows owners are investing in maintenance. Staff were pleasant and polite. Evening food came out quickly but suffered from Green King supply chain. I had three starters and no main course. The breaded mushrooms were the worst I can ever recall. Texture of rubber and tasted of water. The pate was OK but covered in thick slab of fat (which some people like). Garlic bread was fine. Breakfast was good - cooked and cold option. If your expectations are reasonable then this place is fine for the money

Hotel was fine, nothing luxurious. A bit rim down but all amenities were there. Breakfast was ordinary but fine. I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant, it’s cheap but food is really not nice. It’s a very common pub without charm but it’s fine. Stay here if it’s within your budget and location is convenient. Expect nothing special and you won’t be disappointed.
