Not impressed with our stay at the hotel. Pool was very busy with the jacuzzi being packed with people. Temperature of the pool water itself very cold. Bar area and breakfast extremely noisy and not relaxing. Room extremely hot so had to keep the windows open, but this meant we had noise late into the night from the bar and then first thing in the morning from people going out to play golf Breakfast ran out of food 45 mins before the end of service. I had to ask about getting more food brought out twice and the response was we were too late. We had a child with us who left hungry. Certainly not what I expected when I booked

Lovely place to stay for a couple of nights. Pool/gym facilities were excellent and restaurant/bar was great!! Lovely staff. Our room was so far away from reception area….I went for a jog and started at the room and covered almost 500m before I reached the lobby! A guest laundry would have been most helpful.

We love staying at Belton Woods as a family, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast is fantastic. The swimming pool facilities are great.

The reception, bar and restaurant are all beautifully decorated and there was a very chilled vibe about the lounge area. Food was a little expensive but it was all very tasty! The staff were all really helpful, polite and friendly. We found that mealtimes were well staffed so if you needed anything there was always somebody able to help you. The pool was lovely and added bonus that there was no need to book. Some things to improve: Rooms really need an update. They are dated and a bit shabby now. We had a few problems with our room - the hot and cold tap were the wrong way round, so my son ended up scolding himself. The doorknob to the bathroom kept falling off. The bathroom towel rail was broken with wires on show which is not good but definitely bad with young children in a family room. The heater sounded like a plane about to take off so we could not turn it on. However, I let reception know and they sorted a couple of those problems whilst we were out for the day which we were grateful for (main one being the tap!) When a family of 4 is staying I would advise putting more than two sets of towels in the room and the same with the water in the fridge. There were no glasses in the room, only mugs (Good for toothbrushes and other drinks) When booking it did say there was 24 hour room service, but upon arrival we were told it was not available.

The rooms were huge, spacious and very comfortable. heating and cooling options were great. The lobby and bar areas were done up beautifully for Christmas. We arrived at 2.30pm and they wouldn’t let us check in until 3pm which was a bit annoying. Many of the lamps in the room didn’t work which made reading in bed hard as the room was very dark. Also, the Wotif listing said there were laundry facilities, which we were counting on, but when we enquired there are NO laundry facilities on site and we were told to go into town.

This is a nice enough hotel with lovely views at the rear but it’s not worth the price tag. Our room had comfy beds and pillows but the bathroom was in a state of disrepair (wood panelling discoloured a nasty brown or falling apart) and really tainted the overall experience, given the price. There was also dust/cobwebs on the toilet pedestal so it was clear that cleaning needs more attention to detail in some areas. Reception staff were great but bar/restaurant was lacking - bar staff not knowing what a shandy was, waited about half an hour for chips and onion rings only for them to arrive cold and have to re-order. Then had to chase the re-order. Not the standard I expected. Breakfast was good, great veggie sausages which is a plus. Spa was what you’d expect for a golf/conference type hotel, average but nothing particularly special. If I’m paying £200 a night, I’d expect better overall.

Extremely helpful and friendly service throughout our stay. Room ckean and comfortable hoid food and very dog friendly. The recotion staff were amazinf g they saw i had cut my finger on arrival (not at the hotel)) and offered to clean it up and put a plaster onbit fir me. Really impressed.

A large property The hotel seems in the mist of a refurb with a lovely modern reception and dining area But other parts in need of some improvement We didn’t eat on site, but I would say mid range pricing , we did sit in the bar area which was nice and spacious with lots of golfers using and a conference when we were there we still found seats Rooms are well equipped with hairdryer, ironing and ironing board, safe, tea tray shower gel and hand soaps, plenty of towels A small seating area The rooms are a mix, old style tv and old furniture But our bathroom was more modern Bedding smelt really musty and damp, , we saw the laundry outside in the car park in large bins so assumed perhaps why I’d of loved a full size mirror , we just had a round mirror above the dressing table The reason for our stay we had a voucher for the spa, the spa was nice it had its own spa cafe for lunch and drinks You also had access to a relaxation room, gym, swimming pool jacuzzi steam room and sauna We would stay again if we were in the area

This was our 3rd stay. Staff exceptional as always 👏. Breakfast offered a good choice. little disappointed at our room this time. We were on the ground floor, the room decor and furnishings are very tired, bathroom grouting mouldy but super comfy beds! First time we found it to be noicy too.Ladies changing rooms tired, mould on shower area ceiling. Shower gel a nice touch, but they were all empty on two out of three occasions. Always enjoy our stay here but looks like some tlc is needed. Definitely will ask for first floor room next time.

We received a very warm welcome and an upgrade as it was our wedding anniversary. Lovely large room which was very comfortable and extremely clean. Swimming pool was a bonus. The restaurant is very good. The staff are all fantastic. I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel is beautiful. The breakfast is perfect. The only thing I didn't like was the very cold rooms, I didn't feel comfortable and couldn't relax. I didn't know that the jacuzzi was only for age over 16. (should be mentioned in the description) If I had known, I wouldn't have booked the hotel because our children really like the jacuzzi.
The hotel is beautiful. The breakfast is perfect. The only thing I didn't like was the very cold rooms, I didn't feel comfortable and couldn't relax. I didn't know that the jacuzzi was only for age over 16. (should be mentioned in the description) If I had known, I wouldn't have booked the hotel because our children really like the jacuzzi.

Room was very tired, not terribly impressed. Not cheap either for 3 nights. Paper thin walls in so much as I could hear the person snoring in the next room plus children running up and down all evening. Will be unlikely to visit again. Gone down hill considerably from my last stay in 2022.

Clean, but the most dated room I have ever stayed in. TV was so old that it had lines running down the screen and flickered. All of the furniture was battered and had seen better days. I Booked and paid for a deluxe twin due to the size of the bed and got a classic twin room which only had double beds.

Recently redecorated, looks fabulous. Bar meal really nice. But don't count on getting sleep. Noisy bedroom doors banging and guests walking the corridors and chatting until possibly midnight, then fire doors banging with early risers making their escape from 5am onwards (possibly trying to wake up the revellers who kept the working ones awake all night!)

Noisy bedroom doors banging and guests walking the corridors and chatting until possibly midnight, then fire doors banging with early risers making their escape from 5am onwards (possibly trying to wake up the revellers who kept the working ones awake all night!)

We were greeted by a female receptionist whose name I didn’t get at around13.30 on the phone. Finished phone call didn’t greet us but chose to speak to member of staff first. Checked our room which was not ready which we expected. Before we could ask her where to store luggage she turned round and started talking to another staff member. Finally got the answers we needed and went to the bar to get something to eat. Gentleman at the bar very pleasant and helpful. When the first food arrived it was put on the table and before we could ask for cutlery or napkins they were gone. When the second order arrived we quickly asked for things before they could disappear again. Staff definitely need more training. Room was large and as expected but tired and the hotel needs to,spend some money on refurbishment. As we went straight out we didn’t realise that the bathroom fan was not working something that housekeeping should have picked up when they cleaned the bathroom.

For a golf hotel and spa, this property is lacking in hospitality, service, good food and despite what looks like a wonderful bar/lounge to have some cocktails and enjoy some food, there was zero service. We had to go up to the bar to order drinks, even though there was less than a handful of people in the bar, and there was two bar tenders. They would look at us, but never once did they come over to let us know the protocol to order, we figured that out after sitting for 20 minutes. This hotel is located in the middle of nowhere, so going to another establishment was not an option. When we drove up to the hotel, there was zero help from staff to help with luggage, rather the gal behind the front desk watched us lug in our luggage and struggle to keep the swinging doors open while we did so. She greeted us by saying our rooms weren't ready (it was 2:30, check in was 3) and that their systems were down. She then turned on her heel and went to the back office, to which we had to raise our voices to bring her back to inquire what we were to do with our luggage in the meantime. She gestured to a closet and told us we could help ourselves to store it. Incredibly unhelpful and not the level of service for a PGA Golf resort. Expedia shows "Laundry Services" as one the of the amenities at this hotel. I booked the Belton Woods because it was one of the few who offered this service and being that we were travelling from Canada for 2 weeks, laundry was a priority. NO Laundry!!Beware:(

We were travelling around Norfolk n wanted an hotel as a mid travel stop off. We couldn’t have found a better place. So much so we booked for our return trip. The hotel and the team from , reception to housekeeping to restaurant team were perfect. Nothing was too much trouble. I want specifically mention from the housekeeping team - Diana, Samintha and Hermique. Thank you again.

Arrived about 10 minutes before 15:00 and was told that they were making guests wait until 15:00 to check in! Paid deposit on card to order food to room bill but when had the meal in the restaurant there was no record of this and the waiter went to reception to sort it out. When he came back there was still no record and I had to pay with credit card. When I checked out I mentioned this and the receptionist said they had forgotten to tick a box on the system but they would refund the £50 deposit onto my card which took several days to cancel. The room was clean comfortable and tidy and the housekeeping is to a high standard. The food in the restaurant was excellent but the dining was rushed - the starter arrived in about 3 minutes before the waiter had even got the wine, and only about 10 minutes after that the main course arrived so the meal was over in about half an hour. Ideal if you’re in a hurry but less so if you’re wanting a relaxing evening meal.

Poor service in restaurant - waiter said we could not order food from the childrens’ menu as this was for u12s. We explained that my daughter was 11 and he then questioned us and then her further. This information was on our booking form. He then stood around 1M away from our table for the whole meal - all of this made our children quite uncomfortable. Some good was good (breakfast) but main meal was poor quality and tasteless, therefore poor value for money. However bar and reception staff was lovely.

We received a very warm welcome and an upgrade as it was our wedding anniversary. Lovely large room which was very comfortable and extremely clean. Swimming pool was a bonus. The restaurant is very good. The staff are all fantastic. I would recommend this hotel.

A poor overnight stay, a large party going on in a room at the end of our corridor, spilled into the corridor and went on until about 3am, shouting screaming, banging on doors, staff did not have this under control at all - hardly slept, poor standard of food at dinner, and cooked breakfast was poor even though we went early - items looked like they had been sitting a while. We mentioned the bad experience at check out and they were not concerned

Great hotel in a beautiful quiet location. Staff were friendly, the hotel and room were very clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable, only downside was that the duvets were really thick for this time of year so it made it quite hot when trying to sleep. Breakfast was really tasty with plenty of choice. We stayed with children aged 11 and 3 and they both really enjoyed the stay, especially the pool!

Nice location and views of the golf course. Lovely breakfast. We used the leisure facilities which were great after a long drive. Only negative comment was we were in a room next to guests with a dog which barked continuously when they left the room.

Lovely hotel and room. Just let down a touch by breakfast. Cold options great but the hot options had run out at 9.30am. Staff seemed very reluctant and slow to top up the basics such as eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms

Not impressed with our stay at the hotel. Pool was very busy with the jacuzzi being packed with people. Temperature of the pool water itself very cold. Bar area and breakfast extremely noisy and not relaxing. Room extremely hot so had to keep the windows open, but this meant we had noise late into the night from the bar and then first thing in the morning from people going out to play golf Breakfast ran out of food 45 mins before the end of service. I had to ask about getting more food brought out twice and the response was we were too late. We had a child with us who left hungry. Certainly not what I expected when I booked

A stay of 2 halves really - the staff were great, all of them, couldn't do enough for you but sadly this wasn't enough to get this review above an average rating. Disappointing really as we were looking forward to a night away with good food not too far from home. The let down was the food in the restaurant which was pretty grim and not becoming of a place like this. Let me start with a caveat - you can read my other reviews and see I'm not a serial moaner, far from it, so it takes a lot for me to stand at reception as I did this morning and be very unBritish! So let's begin shall we. My starter, which was supposed to be cauliflower tempura, was actually brocolli in fish batter which was thick and pretty undercooked. The dip that was with it had negative taste as well! Lordy it was bad as well as being 100% wrong! The main was an average burger with warm coleslaw that had a bit of fizz to it so that first mouthful was grim and that was left to ferment in its dish - no idea how long that had been sat on a worktop in the kitchen! Frozen fries as well did not a decent dish maketh. And the dessert was pretty bland. Sadly my wife faired even worse. She looked at the menu before we left home and was impressed that it stated that all the mains could be made as vegan and gluten-free options if reauired (she's celiac and has real issues if the food contains any dairy or wheat) but the reality is that only one starter could be and only 2 mains - one of which she couldn't have on the n

Lovely hotel, was booked into the wrong room and had to move once I was unpacked. Breakfast was chaos and understaffed. One lady trying help people and load coffee beans and put pastries out and top everything up. Coffee machines didn’t work and queues 7 people long which then effect getting your breakfast. Lots of poeple quite upset by it all.

Good hotel. Room was fine. Good value considering the pool (which was great) and the included breakfast (which was buffet and loads on offer). The restaurant is very overpriced . We ate in the lounge, and it was decidedly average pub grub at inflated prices. Staff were very attentive throughout.

No gluten free options apart from one roll at breakfast, despite requesting the menu and details well in advance of our stay. Overcooked breakfast items on the buffet (cremated bacon, tomatoes and sausages) and cold fried eggs. The only nice items were the mushrooms and fruit. Poor service in the sports bar - when we asked for a glass of rose, we weren’t told there were actually a couple to choose from, so when we returned the nasty house wine which smelt and tasted off, the server acknowledged how bad it was then said she would only change it if we paid extra. The nachos were revolting - cold, covered with bright orange cheese sauce rather than real cheese, they were missing the jalapeños, and instead of spring onion, they were smothered in awful dried onion flakes. And all real coffee machines were out of action, so no lattes or cappuccino, only instant! The only saving grace was Jan in the restaurant who couldn’t do enough for us and tried to help as much as possible, suggesting the continental cheese and meat platter which was delicious. If she hadn’t been there, we would have rated this far lower despite the hotel being in a beautiful location withy lovely grounds.

Reception and the bar area, nice, modern and although expensive, good food The pool was nice enough, clean and not too busy. The rooms are really really dated and in need of decoration and upgrades. Worse though is the air con which has similar power and effectiveness as a hamster on a wheel that doesn’t go around. It basically blows air already a hot room.

Everything was perfect. As part of a large wedding.party but travelling alone for the first time since losing my husband this year. I found the hotel and staff friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Strongly recommend, thank you x

Started off under par but we complained about our room that overlooked the car park and had a noisy family next door we was immediately upgraded to a suite facing the golf course with a patio which we enjoyed coffee in morning and free drinks in the mini bar! Great breakfast in the morning, lovely swim and jacuzzi and as it is as my partners birthday we thank Belton Woods staff for making it special!
