Very new hotel which is in the final stages of completion. However beautifully furnished, good parking, lovely staff. Some teething problems which we are sure they will resolve quickly. We will definitely stay again.

What a great find. Think it may be new as decoration and quality of amenities were great. Really was a lovely place, time and money must would have been invested. Perfect location for the walks we wanted to do. Walked into Bakewell, did the Monsal Trail and hiked up to the old Magpie Mines. Would definitely recommend a stay @ the Ashford Arms food was top quality and to have breakfast included was a bonus. Great pub/choice of beverages too. We had the magpie room comfy double out of the way. No trouble parking but to be honest we didn't use the car from arrival Wednesday afternoon to leaving Friday morning. Can imagine that may change during peak season but a perfect time to visit. Experienced all weathers in those 2 full days but managed to stay warm & dry.

Staff charming helpful and polite, food amazing, showers piping hot, plenty of parking, bed comfortable, nespresso machine in my room with choice of coffee pods. Would have liked a box of tissues but that’s being ultra picky!

Absolutely beautiful pub. We stayed overnight in a lovely room very comfortable and tastefully styled with plenty of hot water, coffee machine and radio too! Gorgeous hotel! We stayed for one night, friendly staff and lovely room which was clean. Hotel bar and restaurant lovely and breakfast very good. Not too far from Bakewell, we had a walk in and called at Thornbridge brewery on the way. We would definitely stay again.

An excellent hotel clean and inviting. The staff were so friendly and helpful nothing was to much trouble. The food was superb with an excellent choice of gluten free items. Can’t wait to return. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Having only re-opened a month previously The Ashford Arms was very clean and our room was spacious and well equipped. The hotel was very well staffed and they were all helpful and competent. We enjoyed our one night stay. One piece of advice to future guests - make a restaurant reservation before you arrive if you would prefer to eat in the restaurant. [We were happy to eat in the bar!]

A thoroughly enjoyable overnight stay at this boutique hotel.We stayed in a junior suite which was very comfortable and spacious. Slight niggle that the loo flush requires attention and there was an absence of facial tissue which we would expect to find in a hotel of this standard but it did not detract too much from our stay. Our evening Meal of home made chicken and mushroom pie followed by chefs own Bakewell tart with raspberry ice cream was delicious.

This was our first visit to the hotel since it was refurbished. I’d saved up to take my husband there for his birthday treat. When we got there, we were so impressed and our room was lovely, apart from it feeling very warm. We realised that we were directly above the kitchen. It was really noisy, as the extractor fan was so noisy to the point that it felt like we were about to take off on an aeroplane ( and that is no exaggeration ) We were kept awake by the staff laughing outside and throwing bottles into the bin till around 11pm. Then at 7am on bank holiday Monday, we were woken at 7am by staff talking loud outside and the extractor fan went on again. We couldn’t get back to sleep after this. The staff were really lovely at breakfast and we would come back again, but definitely not back to the room above the kitchen. It wasn’t the birthday night I had planned.

It was ok, very small room for what we paid, bathroom was tiny, we had a stand alone air con in the room which was great, however this meant it was vented outside and we couldn't close the window so was woken early by the noise from the hotel

Lovely hotel in a nice area serving really good food along with great staff. It would have been perfect apart from the size of the room that we were given. The room was clean although extremely small and it was difficult to move around in there. For the price of our stay I would have expected the room would have been much larger.

Absolutely loved our stay, this is such a cosy hotel with beautiful decor, amazing food and fabulous staff. Wish we had stayed for more than one night! Lovely evening meal in the restaurant, and a great breakfast too. Excellent that you can choose from the breakfast menu and it’s all cooked fresh to order. The only very slight downside was the size of our room. We stayed with friends and both booked deluxe rooms. They were given Marvin and we had Magpie - this was much smaller despite being the same price, with no armchair or separate dressing table area. I think Magpie should be priced cheaper perhaps as a ‘standard’ room, although it was still perfect and had everything we needed! Would definitely stay again.

A fantastic little hotel, the pictures online I believe don’t do it justice. We stayed in the Magpie room which was a little compact BUT it’s at the top floor on its own out of the way. It’s so lovey and quiet with no doors slamming or other guests walking past, fabulous! Room itself was cosy and clean with a lovely view from the window over the village. Breakfast was great too with a good choice from the menu if you wanted something other than a full English. The only fault I had was with how hot the room was but in a period property, in a loft room, during a heatwave there really isn’t much that could have been done. The hotel did provide an electric fan. The village itself is beautiful, there are a few little shops and bars and a lovely river walk which takes around 40minutes in to Bakewell. Would recommend.

Lovely overnight stay. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was excellent!! Only downfall was we were above the kitchen so when they slammed the door it was extremely loud in our room - especially at 6:45am but other than that we can’t fault it and will definitely be back!!

What a little gem The Ashford Arms was. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms very nicely appointed, clean and comfortable. Dining was a pleasure with an interesting menu and the food was fantastic. At breakfast the menu was also very nice and varied and the full breakfast excellent. Good location for visiting Chatsworth, Bakewell etc would definitely recommend a stay.

It’s a nice inn in a small quiet village with beautiful views if you explore the area. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel. If you are an American who will not be driving, no Uber coverage. We found the hard way. I suggest to add it in the description about no Uber coverage but there is a taxi which needs to be pre-booked, it can get busy. We tried to call a taxi, we were told by the taxi company that they will not be able to pick us up from the hotel until 4 hours later. It’s a nice place, just need to know those details. We didn’t get much help from the reception about getting a taxi or about Uber.

The service and friendliness of staff that couldnt do enough to make our stay the best. Breakfast was top notch with only the best ingredients. Gorgeous hotel! We stayed for one night, friendly staff and lovely room which was clean. Hotel bar and restaurant lovely and breakfast very good. Not too far from Bakewell, we had a walk in and called at Thornbridge brewery on the way. We would definitely stay again.

What a great find. Think it may be new as decoration and quality of amenities were great. Really was a lovely place, time and money must would have been invested. Perfect location for the walks we wanted to do. Walked into Bakewell, did the Monsal Trail and hiked up to the old Magpie Mines. Would definitely recommend a stay @ the Ashford Arms food was top quality and to have breakfast included was a bonus. Great pub/choice of beverages too. We had the magpie room comfy double out of the way. No trouble parking but to be honest we didn't use the car from arrival Wednesday afternoon to leaving Friday morning. Can imagine that may change during peak season but a perfect time to visit. Experienced all weathers in those 2 full days but managed to stay warm & dry.

Excellent suite. Welcoming staff. It was a Friday evening and the restaurant was noisy and a bit short-staffed. Great location in a quiet pretty village a couple of miles from Bakewell.

It’s a nice inn in a small quiet village with beautiful views if you explore the area. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel. If you are an American who will not be driving, no Uber coverage. We found the hard way. I suggest to add it in the description about no Uber coverage but there is a taxi which needs to be pre-booked, it can get busy. We tried to call a taxi, we were told by the taxi company that they will not be able to pick us up from the hotel until 4 hours later. It’s a nice place, just need to know those details. We didn’t get much help from the reception about getting a taxi or about Uber.

Beautiful old B and B with exceptional customer services. The food was great and very accommodating to my gluten-free daughter. Five miles from Chatsworth House and in a stunning location. Well worth a stop.

Absolutely beautiful pub. We stayed overnight in a lovely room very comfortable and tastefully styled with plenty of hot water, coffee machine and radio too! Dinner and breakfast were delicious and the staff were polite and friendly. The village is beautiful, quiet and picturesque. We honestly can’t fault our stay at the Ashford Arms

Fantastic, friendly and accommodating staff - food and service. Seriously the best lime and soda :), something so simple and yet… I have an adventurous palate, so was delighted to try a new taste sensation in the Brazilian cheese bread. The Bakewell dessert did not disappoint, was beyond expectation and ample for two spoons! Thank you. Photographic stroll over the bridge just behind the hotel - 100 metre walk.

An excellent hotel clean and inviting. The staff were so friendly and helpful nothing was to much trouble. The food was superb with an excellent choice of gluten free items. Can’t wait to return. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

A thoroughly enjoyable overnight stay at this boutique hotel.We stayed in a junior suite which was very comfortable and spacious. Slight niggle that the loo flush requires attention and there was an absence of facial tissue which we would expect to find in a hotel of this standard but it did not detract too much from our stay. Our evening Meal of home made chicken and mushroom pie followed by chefs own Bakewell tart with raspberry ice cream was delicious.

Great little hotel. Not long since being re opened I believe. Really nice decor, great food (although a little expensive), friendly welcoming staff and the best thing was the room which was very luxurious with coffee machine, fresh teas etc all for a very reasonable price with breakfast included! Would definitely stay and recommend.

Absolutely loved our stay, this is such a cosy hotel with beautiful decor, amazing food and fabulous staff. Wish we had stayed for more than one night! Lovely evening meal in the restaurant, and a great breakfast too. Excellent that you can choose from the breakfast menu and it’s all cooked fresh to order. The only very slight downside was the size of our room. We stayed with friends and both booked deluxe rooms. They were given Marvin and we had Magpie - this was much smaller despite being the same price, with no armchair or separate dressing table area. I think Magpie should be priced cheaper perhaps as a ‘standard’ room, although it was still perfect and had everything we needed! Would definitely stay again.

Hotel was very welcoming with a lovely cosy bar, restaurant and orangery. It was very busy with Sunday lunch customers, which was a good sign. We booked a deluxe double room- The Harris - very nicely decorated, although it was a very small room and space was tight, especially in the bathroom, we did wonder what a standard room would be like! The receptionist did mention on checking in that they operate a working kitchen and therefore some noise was to be expected, but unfortunately our room was directly above the kitchen and the extraction fans were extremely loud, whilst it didn't bother us in the evening as the kitchen shut before we went to bed, it woke us up very early when they started breakfasts. This was our only negative, I would ask for a room not above the kitchen next time. Breakfast was very good, made to order. No buffet, but you simply ordered off the menu and it was good quality and very hot. A great stay and would go back because its in a lovely location.
