Peterborough Inn & Suites Hotel

Parking is a pain because it’s around the corner from where the facility is and parking on the street at night is not recommended due to vandalism, however in saying that the property was very well kept and our stay was very enjoyable

Only negative was no onsite parking (block and a half away). Not an issue for us but may pose more of a challenge for those with mobility issues.

Nice boutique hotel that is downtown. Free parking a block away from the hotel. Didn't like having to put a $200 security deposit on our one night stay. Air conditioning wasn't working in our room, the front desk person quickly changed our room without any problem.

Their gym was closed, under renovation. This was one of the reasons I had chosen the hotel. The next door club was noisy with patrons exiting loudly at 02h. Although the staff was supportive, it did not make up for the inconveniences.

It’s an old hotel across the street from a noisy social club. There is no on-site parking and the tickets to get out of nearby parking garage don’t work. This place definitely needs a refresh. The decor is dated and the staff are not particularly helpful.

Staff were friendly and quick to respond. Having covered parking close to the place was great. Close to downtown and lots of restaurants.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but the property needs some TLC. The fitness Center is in the basement and not well lit. The treadmill had an error on the screen and was unusable. The hot tub in the room did not work and the in-room coffee maker sparked and blew a fuse.

The hotel has a deal with city parking for free pass. The lot is security guard 24/7 and has a level 2 EV charger pay to use. Not sure of that detail, I didn't use it. Out front of hotel is drop off parking. The hotel is dated and almost run down. Breakfast was bare minimum and even ine vat of cream cheese was empty the other two flavored vats in use day after day until empty. The small window AC did manage to finally cool room and when turned low and left on wasn't too noisy I guess. The bathroom, especially the shower was not clean. A ring around the jet tub and cobwebs in the light shade. Bathroom smelt of mold. I left bathroom fan running and door close which did help considerably with stink. Lighting in room totally inadequate. One bedside lamp was unplugged cord lost in balls of dust. One of two led retrofit bulbs in ceiling light was out and the entire fixture looked so cheap/old/makeshift. The area has a good number of destitute on the streets. Place gave me the creaps for so many reasons and I wish I had not had this experience.

Only thing we did not like - was the offset parking a block away in a parking garage. Although the cost was covered by the hotel.

There were bed bugs and we still had to pay for the night we stayed there.

You get what you pay for. The cheap price should have been a sign of what to expect. Hair in the tub drain. Fridge door wouldn’t stay closed. Appeared to be blood smears on the wall beside the bed. Ants in the washroom. Didn’t want to touch anything and couldn’t wait to leave in the morning.

Bed bugs in room 305. Since being home I’ve developed 5-6 bites. The internet says they take hours, days or even a week to appear. Unacceptable.

Clean room, nice staff

We just needed a room for one night to attend an event downtown, and this seemed convenient. Wishing we had just driven back home instead of staying at this dive. Incredibly dated, dark and dingy. Dark brown curtains that we had to keep closed as all that was out our window was another building very close and we could see in the windows. Rooms were filthy. Old chocolate brown bedspread that looked like it had been washed 1000 times. We had to ask for new pillows as they were old, lumpy and flat. Made the mistake of taking a pillowcase off one just to check…ABSOLUTELY disgusting all stained and gross. Dust everywhere in the room, crumbs behind the nightstands. Moldy shower curtain in the bathroom with white flimsy towels with stains. Old cigarettes burn marks all over the bathroom vanity. Toilet kept running almost every time we flushed. Do yourself a favour and NEVER stay here!

The rooms were dirty/ Washroom flush was not working and I had to fix it. The water was really dirty. The blankets had an awful smell. The room was not properly cleaned and had lot of dusts even om the blanket.

In general the property is quite dated. The rooms desperately need a renovation with stained carpets, furniture, etc. Bathrooms were in poor condition with obvious signs of neglect and uncleanlines. The first room we were given had stains on the comforter and hairs on the pillow covers.

Room was clean but the furniture and the carpet looked very old and outdated. The Windows are facing the wall of the building from which not pleasant smell was coming. We didn't use fireplace or AC.

Good points: staff were friendly, room was clean, functional. Low price for the room, basic breakfast also included. Hotel also paid for parking in nearby parking lot ($12) and provided 15% voucher for nearby restaurants. Not so good: decor was not nice - I don't think this place had been decorated since the late 1970s.I was expecting Starsky and Hutch to break down the door at any time 😀 Also room has an incredibly klunky and noisy air con unit, and the bed was very worn - like sleeping on a trampoline. Overall though, it was fine for a night and the price was very cheap, I don't understand how the hotel actually make any money! The staff were very welcoming & accommodating. Is your don't mind the decor, it's fine for a cheap overnight or two.

excellent property in the downtown core. we had a great room at the front of the hotel with floor to ceiling windows and the bar across the street could be heard until 2 am on a saturday night. otherwise a great stay and staff were very friendly. very clean and affordable although a little dated. would stay again.

Great place to stay. My room had a fireplace and jetted bath tub. Breakfast was great with lots of variety. Overall a very clean and welcoming place. Being downtown was nice. As I was walking around I noticed a pool hall. Something you don't see much of nowadays. The hotel gave me a 15% off voucher for a few local restaurants. Tried Riley's. Very good.

The room was a nice size. The fireplace in the room didn’t work all of the faucets in the room leak. The plug for the bathtub was too small. There was a leak in the ceiling in the hallway that I could hear dripping all night.

Bed needs a mattress topper, very hard. Husband did not sleep all night. The bed cover and pillow covers need to be replaced- freshen up the whole bed.

Older hotel but well kept. Great location for downtown restaurants. The only miss for me was the air conditioner which made weird shower type noises. Woke me up when it came on. But my husband thought it was better than other in room ac units that make loud motor sounds...

It’s cheap and it’s right in downtown. There are a lot of little things they just don’t bother to get right; TV doesn’t really work, coffee maker is on a table but not plugged in, room HVAC doesn’t seem to work (cold)

I do want to say my rating is based on the amazing and understanding staff. The location is great, free parking around the corner, they offer 15% off dinning in several restaurants that are all walking distance. The hotel is outdated and basic but clean. It just depends on what your priorities are.

Good location and reasonable price. Building and facilities are a little bit dated. Very helpful staff.

I didn’t like that the staff misunderstood another guest and opened my hotel room at night to let another guest into my room. Thankfully I was there and had the safety latch on, as they physically had the door opened, and of course demagnetized my keys in the process. There was a simple sorry, and some excuses but I hope that no other guest ever has to experience this again. Not even a call or explanation from the manager, so there’s no assurance that this won’t happen again.

It could be much better if they pay attention to the smell, feeling of clearness and AC noise level. Location is good and staff is friendly.

I was going to Ptbo for a friend reunion. We lived in the city for years so we are used to it. We went to check in and the man at the front was very rude on his phone watching YouTube while we were asking questions and the tried to make us pay twice. The person who helped us for check out was very kind though. We knew the location was going to be loud since it was across from the bar, but there was people knocking on our door at midnight and 1 in the morning, then running away. Finally, the reason behind I am being brutally honest is we did not feel safe. I was with a group of girls and I shared the room with one other girl. We were getting reading for bed and went to lock the door and the security lock was broken off. We took a picture and when to the front desk to ask the man there if there was any thing we could add to lock the door more securely and he said “no it can’t be locked fully incase we need to get in and check on the room” which made us very uncomfortable. The hotel room was also very rundown which was fine until we went to shower and the water smelt weird, the tap barely worked, and we found a dirty sock that did not belong to us under the pillow. It was unfortunate that we had this experience with this hotel since I know how long it had been around but it was just an enjoyable experience.

Stayed the night for a local concert, good accomodations. The original booking was for 2 people, but when we needed another bed last minute they had an extra cot for a fee. Beds were comfortable, rooms have sinks and fridges. Adam at the front desk definitely took care of us with a smile, very friendly and sociable.

Downtown location at a very good price.

This property was fantastic for being close to everything downtown and where you don’t care as much about being in an updated hotel. The staff were fantastic, rooms were clean. Very outdated rooms however and the cheaper price makes sense. There’s a club across the street so don’t expect to sleep much if your room faces the street as it was loud and partying till wee hours. The rooms have only window air units but they worked. Hotel lobby and halls were very warm and gross feeling. Tons of restaurants near by and good food too! Highly recommend Indian place right next door.

Downtown location was a plus, however the street racing late at night was a bit annoying. On the second night, just turned up the window fan to drown out the noise.

Unfortunately, this older 3-star hotel itself isn't that bad. Excellent staff, average, dated rooms, average to sub-par breakfast, and a dimly lit gym space in the basement. But the incredible noise from nearby bars made sleep impossible, booming a techno beat until 3 a.m. I would never recommend anyone book this hotel until you have noise-cancelling earbuds.

Run down building. Damp inside. Lots of sketchy people around area from dusk until well after dawn.

Very charming little hotel! I used to live in Peterborough and would pass by this hotel frequently but never knew how cute it was inside. It’s the perfect hotel for a weekend getaway, especially if you want to be in the heart of the city with easy access to nightlife

staff were good, building is nice, location is excellent. noisy air conditioner, curtains hard to manouver, street is noisy Wednesday and Saturday nights.

Dated and old Coffee maker was gross dirty. And breakfast abismal (bagel, coffee, yogurt. That's it.)

Good value, nice place breakfast simple but coffee ok. I don't understand why it's not more fully booked. It's a slight inconvenience to park at the king st parking lot but an interesting short walk.

The breakfast was limited, only bread and coffee. They haven't parking lot properly. They used public parking.

Continental breakfast was very basic but not bad, a true-to-definition continental breakfast. Rooms were quiet, tv was small and distorted but all we needed was a bed for the night and it got the job done.

Pretty tired..dreadful continental breakfast; watery coffee and OJ. Parkade wouldn’t take their coupon..that was 12 bucks. But for 90 bucks, it was a huge room..clean enough…a big bed. so it worked…I’m happy.

The stay was very comfortable and the staff was attentive and responsive to our needs. The breakfast had a good range of foods to choose from and the eating area was well kept too.

The check in process was good, was not really fond of having to walk downtown alone from parking garage back to the hotel but the room was good- bathroom was dated but loved the jacuzzi tub! The discount on dinner coupon was fantastic, the breakfast in the morning had many options.
