A beautiful property, approx 15 minute walk from central York. I enjoyed a womderful stay in a beautifully decorated and well appointed room. I loved the artwork throughout the communal areas proprty and the 24 hour reception.

Quirky, clean, comfortable with lovely, friendly staff. Based in quiet, tree-lined avenue with good parking and close enough for walking to city centre. Well stocked bar and great breakfast. Would definitely recommend one of the four-poster bedrooms and we shall be coming back.

We took elderly relatives, we had requested ground floor rooms as they struggle with walking, although not guaranteed at booking stage, we were accommodated. The hotel was lovely in its quirkiness. We arrived early as we knew parking was limited and hoped to be able to park our cars, coming back later to check in. As our rooms were already ready we were allowed to check in early. We were also allowed to pay for extra half day of parking on our departure date, which meant we didn't have to move the cars around York to enjoy the rest of second day there. The rooms were all individually designed and the beds were the best hotel beds I have ever slept in, so comfortable, a comment echoed by our parents in their rooms. Staff were friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The lounge was comfortable to sit in, the breakfast options were very good. Although the location was within easy reach of York, 5-10 minute walk for a moderately fit person, it was tucked down a side street and was surprisingly quiet given the busy road nearby. Would I go back, yes and would I recommend to others definitely yes.

The Clementine Hotel is excellently located and the perfect spot for a stay in York. Staff were very attentive and on arrival, I was very kindly upgraded after they saw I had a very large suitcase and thought it would be more manageable for me to have a ground floor suite. The property has a real charm, and the attention to detail in the décor and provisions is second to none. The room was exceptionally clean, which is the first thing I check/notice in any hotel room.

Lovely hotel overall. We booked it last minute when we had issues with the accommodation we had already arranged. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The furnishings and interiors are gorgeous and we had a big bathtub. We did have an issue with the bath where it seemed that the jets hadn’t been cleaned and ejected grime into the water. I reported this to the staff and they said it would be looked at but it wasn’t. The emergency light in the main bedroom is way too bright and difficult to block out when trying to sleep. I also requested clean mugs, tea, coffee and milk replacements which wasn’t done. Considering we paid quite a lot for our room it was a little disappointing when these things were addressed. Having said that, we liked the hotel and would stay again.

The staff are fantastic and very helpful, the rooms are a bit dated and there were cobweds around the window, but none of this spoiled our stay.

From start to finish it was like home from home. It was a cold frosty weekend but the whole building was warm and cosy. Staff friendly Room beautiful - clean - everything you need. They even have a Cat called Teddy which made my stay. 5/10min walk into the center perfect for a york visit

Great location, very friendly staff. Our room was perfect, on the ground floor with a little outdoor 'balcony'. The bed was very comfortable and the room and the entire hotel were clean and well-presented. Parking was easy and the hotel is a 5-minute walk from the City walls. We will certainly be back.

We were staying in the Rowntree suite -4 poster bed- so comfortable, a wing back chair and a balcony with 2 chairs and table. There was a flame effect fire which made the room toasty. Much appreciated as we had snow at times and it was freezing outside- but we were beautifully warm. The bathroom was excellent-really warm and spacious.

Lovely hotel near to york city centre. Beautifully decorated lovely staff. Only complaint is the room was very small you had to climb over each other to get in bed, not ideal & nowhere to store your luggage.

Room was very small, could have used coat rack or hooks for hanging, window had a crack but it wasn't an issue. Room could have used a bottle opener. Bathroom was nice and bed comfortable

The staff were lovely and very accommodating. Upon arrival we were advised there would be an additional £15 a day charge for parking in the car park. The window in our room was rattling and kept us up most of the night. It's a well designed and lovely hotel but i would not say worth the money. Especially with the addional breakfast and parking fees which you would expect to be included when youre paying so much for your stay.

Service from the moment of arrival to the moment we left was outstanding. Easy walk into the city. Voucher for ‘Guy Fawkes’ was useful and we had a fantastic meal there. Couldn’t fault the place. Would love to come back.

We arrived early and just popped into reception to register our car as we planned to walk into York. The reception staff were lovely, they said our room would be ready in 15 minutes if we wanted to wait in the beautiful gardens they would take us up. We didn’t expect this as we were 4 hours before check in. The lady on reception took us to our room and showed us around the hotel. Everything was perfect. We had the room with the balcony and it was perfect. Breakfast was delicious and the staff cannot do enough for you.

Great stay at a lovely hotel just walking distance from the centre of York - which was perfect for what we needed. Very friendly staff and if you needed anything they'd be only too happy to oblige.

Lovely Hotel, good styling decor and dressed well. The cleaning staff, lovely, chatty and funny too….the front of house staff the complete opposite? Abrupt and not interested…which was a shame, as the place has charm and style…the lady in reception greeted us with no welcome or interest! Informed me parking was chargeable, first I’d heard of this, website don’t say it costs…and that they are very busy..so chose your breakfast now? What…?? The room was as I have said, stylish and had some nice touches…warm too…but for the money I wouldn’t say worth it! The service from the front of house let the visit down for us…plus the breakfast was lacking..bacon rock hard, toast cold, just lacking for £200? The right idea/look for a boutique hotel but the wrong attitude to greet you with, shame as I wouldn’t return on that basis alone! At 200pounds a night, I’d at least expect some interest in us, after all it’s a small bespoke place…when we left it was ‘your checking out then, right…bye!’ Nothing else or more….York is lovely…the hotel was too, just a shame that lack of interest, fake or not…would of been and should of been better.

The service from the front of house let the visit down for us…plus the breakfast was lacking..bacon rock hard, toast cold, just lacking for £200? The right idea/look for a boutique hotel but the wrong attitude to greet you with, shame as I wouldn’t return on that basis alone! At 200pounds a night, I’d at least expect some interest in us, after all it’s a small bespoke place…when we left it was ‘your checking out then, right…bye!’ Nothing else or more….York is lovely…the hotel was too, just a shame that lack of interest, fake or not…would of been and should of been better.

We took elderly relatives, we had requested ground floor rooms as they struggle with walking, although not guaranteed at booking stage, we were accommodated. The hotel was lovely in its quirkiness. We arrived early as we knew parking was limited and hoped to be able to park our cars, coming back later to check in. As our rooms were already ready we were allowed to check in early. We were also allowed to pay for extra half day of parking on our departure date, which meant we didn't have to move the cars around York to enjoy the rest of second day there. The rooms were all individually designed and the beds were the best hotel beds I have ever slept in, so comfortable, a comment echoed by our parents in their rooms. Staff were friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The lounge was comfortable to sit in, the breakfast options were very good. Although the location was within easy reach of York, 5-10 minute walk for a moderately fit person, it was tucked down a side street and was surprisingly quiet given the busy road nearby. Would I go back, yes and would I recommend to others definitely yes.

Hotel staff are really easy to work with and the decorations and hotel are very comfortable. The hotel resembles a Victorian luxury house. We would definitely go there again. The hotel is located in a beautiful neighborhood surrounded by luxury homes, and it’s only a 10 minute walk to the center of town.

Stayed for 2 nights and the hotel and staff were fantastic. Very comfortable, good sized rooms, loved the quirky decor about the place. Can't comment on the food, we spent all of our time exploring York so decided not to have breakfast, having brunch in town instead and dinner later. Great position, only a ten minute walk to the Minster, onsite parking is a bonus!

Great location, very friendly staff. Our room was perfect, on the ground floor with a little outdoor 'balcony'. The bed was very comfortable and the room and the entire hotel were clean and well-presented. Parking was easy and the hotel is a 5-minute walk from the City walls. We will certainly be back.

A beautiful property, approx 15 minute walk from central York. I enjoyed a womderful stay in a beautifully decorated and well appointed room. I loved the artwork throughout the communal areas proprty and the 24 hour reception.

Fantastic boutique hotel, room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. All the staff were great and we would definitely recommend and be back on our next visit to York. Location was fab just outside the centre and only a ten minute walk in.

Thought charging £15 per night for parking was too much , especially when I didn’t see any clear mention of this when booking. Hotel was in a great location to visit the centre of York (15 mins walk) and was comfortable with a nice feel and friendly staff.

It was so charming, we extended our stay an extra night. It was so unique and interesting, had a lovely sitting room where we could read and sip a drink. The area is quiet but it was only about a 7 minute walk into the city center.

Could do better water replenishment and more recycling bins. Also, a bit pricey with breakfast not being included. The staff were great (Nina & Cam). Parking was a bit of a challenge (crowded at times). Aside from those minor gripes, highly recommended

Lovely Hotel, good styling decor and dressed well. The cleaning staff, lovely, chatty and funny too….the front of house staff the complete opposite? Abrupt and not interested…which was a shame, as the place has charm and style…the lady in reception greeted us with no welcome or interest! All excellent apart from additional parking charge and having to leave car keys due to double parking. Breakfast was very nice although smoked salmon portion on my eggs was very sparse. The receptionist was excellent.

What a wonderful place to stay! Our room was beautifully decadent, breakfast excellent, and the staff team were all professional, charming and extremely helpful. I could not recommend Clementine's highly enough, plus it's walking distance from the city centre but set aside so it's relaxing and peaceful. We hope to return again. This is a gem!

Cameron on the front desk (and later that night also manning the bar) was lovely and made us feel really welcome, he is a real credit to the hotel. The decor is really nice and very atmospheric but maybe a little dark when it comes to doing your hair and make up! Breakfast was nice but we really missed having fresh fruit with our granola. We only stayed one night and left straight after breakfast but if we had been there longer parking may have been an issue. The car park was completely full when we arrived just before check in time so we had to park on the road..... it is residents only but you're okay to park after 4pm until 10am. Had we been staying longer we would have wanted to leave the car at the hotel and walk into town. Despite these minor issues we'd be happy to stay there again.

What a beautiful place! We booked only the same week for a little break and wasn’t disappointed! The welcome was amazing, Cameron was so helpful, showed us to the room, pointed out all the amenities on the way and even brought a bottle of ice cold water with him for us! The room itself was beautifully decorated (we have taken photos as inspiration for home) with an old Victorian vibe still blended in with the quirkiness of modern touch. Bed was so comfortable and spacious! We had a little garden area to ourselves and there was a larger communal garden area with a lit fire out when we got back in the evening. We spent time in the bar on the night and was made to feel very welcome by a lovely staff member - I can’t remember your name I am so sorry! Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment but the bar and room schools was great! The trip was rounded off by meeting the lovely Teddy on out checkout! We are already looking at return dates.
