We loved our stay at Lazy Bear Retreat house... it was perfect for our group of 5 .. 3 adults and 2 kids. Lots of space inside and out for the kids, and the kitchen/dining/living area was wonderful for hanging in the morning and evening, enjoying mountain views one direction and the Straits of Juan de Fuca in the other.

Nice house with multiple bedrooms to choose from and a quiet area. We enjoyed the large kitchen and living room area. Host was very responsive when we needed a new propane tank for the grill.We also enjoyed doing the jigsaw puzzles at night after our days in Olympic NP. Internet service was very spotty and I couldn't do work one night. Luckily I managed to get it done the next day, probably because other people in our group stopped using WiFi and used cell data.Other than that it was a good stay. One more bathroom would be great for a large group.

The house and yard was perfect for 6 person family. We had plenty of room to sleep, cook, and relax. We enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs in the evenings in the peaceful front yard. The view was beautiful. The house was located perfectly for day trips to hikes. The owner was excellent at communicating. I highly recommend this staying at this house.

This was a wonderful property to stay at while we explored Olympic National Park!! The kitchen was well stocked, extra pillows and blankets, very clean and cozy! The are around the house was also very quiet and nice. We were met by 2 deer in the yard and a friendly dog stopped to greet us.

We had to fall back to cellular hotspots for multiple kids doing homework and college applications at the same time. The hot water heater was perhaps a tad undersized as we ran out of hot water frequently. But manage these two minor things and you're set with a solid, comfortable home base for exploring the area.About 10 minutes from Sequim proper and about 7 minutes from US101, you're close enough to get where you need to go but far enough away to enjoy the quiet and solitude. We really enjoyed the house and the quiet setting. It was the perfect location for us to visit family in Sequim over the holidays and easily able to visit Olympic National Park. The four bedrooms were all good size and more than we needed. Also, the large yard is great. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a great time and enjoyed the large house! We had a view of mountains from the di ing area and could see Canada from the front windows...also had visits up close from the local wildlife! Well equipped and close to all the things we wanted to do!

The beds were comfortable. The whole house was homey. The front yard needs mowing. The firt impression when we arrived, we thought we had the wrong house cause the front lawn was so overgrown. Overall we all enjoyed our stay.

House is nicely laid out. A note by kitchen faucet about water being sort of brown when you first turn on would have been nice. If cleaners would have checked breadboards for cleaning. Also instructions for running heater heads and check tv remote if it works and replaced batteries, we lucky had some with us. Deer’s morning and evening were a nice bonus.

Comfortable home in a great location - awesome views of Victoria, BC from the front windows and deer grazing near the front yard. Nothing fancy, but very clean and well-equipped, and the PM was very responsive and helpful with regard to a Wi-Fi connection question.

We loved our stay here. The views are amazing. Deer came strolling though every morning/night. Rural country settings. Rode the bikes that were provided down gravel roads. Close to cline spit and dungeness spit for great sunsets. I believe this is the owners grandparents place. Their photo was displayed at the property. Some of the furnishings (kitchen table, lamps, living room chair ) are from their time period . Which are all in good working order…don’t let that persuade you away from this property…I think it’s a nice tribute to them. All beds were reported as very comfortable. And the bedrooms were all very large. I would 10/10 recommend this place. Short scenic drive to Sequim, but the benefits to being in rural area outweigh the short drive.

The house was very clean and well-stocked with everything we needed for cooking, which made meals easy and enjoyable. We spent most of our time in the kitchen and dining room, perfect spots to relax and watch deer wander by in the evenings.Each bedroom having its own baseboard heater was a huge plus, especially since I tend to run cold and could warm up my space while others kept theirs cooler. The beds varied a bit in comfort, but nothing major. Communication with the hosts was excellent, from helping us plan out parts of our trip to checking in after we accidentally set off a fire alarm (oops!). We had a great time and enjoyed the large house! We had a view of mountains from the di ing area and could see Canada from the front windows...also had visits up close from the local wildlife! Well equipped and close to all the things we wanted to do!

Nice house with multiple bedrooms to choose from and a quiet area. We enjoyed the large kitchen and living room area. Host was very responsive when we needed a new propane tank for the grill.We also enjoyed doing the jigsaw puzzles at night after our days in Olympic NP. Internet service was very spotty and I couldn't do work one night. This was a perfect house to hold all 8 of us on our family vacation. Loved how everything was one 1 level - so easy to hang out with each other and have space at the same time. We had 4 kids staying with us and they appreciated the ping-pong table, basketball hoop(we replaced the net as it was falling apart), and huge yards. Would not hesitate to book again as the owners obviously show pride in their house. Communication was on point when we had problems with the keypad. One of our best vacations!

The house and yard was perfect for 6 person family. We had plenty of room to sleep, cook, and relax. We enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs in the evenings in the peaceful front yard. The view was beautiful. The house was located perfectly for day trips to hikes. The owner was excellent at communicating. I highly recommend this staying at this house.

The location of this home is outstanding. You will see deer, rabbits and we saw a bald Eagle. You will also see ships pass through Juan Fuca straight. The house is roomy and comfortable. Lastly, the host was attentive, answering our questions quickly.

We loved our stay at Lazy Bear Retreat house... it was perfect for our group of 5 .. 3 adults and 2 kids. Lots of space inside and out for the kids, and the kitchen/dining/living area was wonderful for hanging in the morning and evening, enjoying mountain views one direction and the Straits of Juan de Fuca in the other.

What a great stay! Seeing deer and mountains in the morning while drinking coffee and planning our day was wonderful. The location is great for visiting the Dungeness Spit, the Olympic National Park and the Hoh Rain Forest to name just a few places we enjoyed. It was hard to leave, and if we are ever lucky enough to come back to visit we will definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed the house and the quiet setting. It was the perfect location for us to visit family in Sequim over the holidays and easily able to visit Olympic National Park. The four bedrooms were all good size and more than we needed. Also, the large yard is great. We would definitely stay here again.

Wow, what can I say. We spent two nights at this property while attending my brother-in-law's celebration of life This house was large enough to accommodate our family and was just a few minutes from our relatives. This house is old and showing wear, and would benefit from some serious updates - broken blinds, dirty microwave, ancient coffeemaker with a dirty warmer, kitchen faucet sprayer drooping, faint odor of tobacco, freezing cold when we arrived, and the living room heat did not turn on. Heat was provided by wall units in rooms, so it was difficult to get even heat. There were no towels in the bathrooms, but we did find some in the hallway, and discovered others in the clothes dryer. The washer did not work. When I contacted the host, he did schedule a maintenance person, but by then we had checked out. I had to contact him to get the door code. The description of the bedrooms needs editing. One bedroom has one king bed OR two twins that can be pushed together to make a king. The mattresses and bedding were ok. Overall, it was a disappointing rental.
