Stayed at this hotel for a couple of days because of its close proximity to the Blue Barn on the Green, which is where my niece was getting married. I had two rooms, and the other couple I made a reservation for got there about 15 minutes before me. Their name wasn’t even on the reservation yet the hotel checked them into my suite without even contacting or asking me. This made for a very awkward start to the weekend when we had to switch rooms once I got there. Then, once I got into my room, I noticed a very musty smell. Given the age of the hotel, I’ve kind of learned from experience to expect a little bit of wear and tear odors in walls and carpeting of rooms, which is why I always bring candles with me on my trips. Because the rehearsal dinner was in just a couple of hours, I didn’t want to spend a lot of time hassling with trying out and changing rooms to see if there was something better. As I unpacked and got settled in, I realized this room has no dressers to unpack your clothes into, except for two little nightstand drawers on either side of the bed. The closet was of normal size but there was an oversized safe in taking up a third of the space along with the iron and ironing board, which looked to be 30 years old itself. Yet the worst of it all was when I woke up the next morning stuffed up and feeling a little under the weather. I decided to take a look at the HVAC unit. Disgustingly, it was covered in black mold, as were some of the curtains and drapes. AWFUL!!!

The staff was very polite and helpful. The hotel was pretty clean for the most part. The floors could have been swept better. Maintenance wise, the toilet had too much caulk that was spread around the toilet. It was turning the color of urine. I wiped it with a rag to see if it was clean. It appeared to be stained not neglected during cleaning.
