Pool was down everything else was great.Price was excellent.

Majority of the gym equipment did not work.

Everything is outdated and old. No improvements on anything. No bar or breakfast. Small pool. Small tvs. Sketchy hallways.

Hotel was clean, room was clean, we realllly wanted to use the hot tub but it wasn't hot

I was charged an extra fee at check in for a wrist band I did not need as we were not using the pool This fee was not mentioned on top of a property fee we had already paid No real explanation was given by desk staff nor Expedia staff

Would not go back. Old building with leaking roof. Buckets with dirty water everywhere. No beach access. Tiny pool right off the Main Street. Not very good accommodations, no luggage holding or late check out.

Short staffed, glass in the pool, hot tub did not work. Appeared to be under construction.

The swimming pool was closed. I was given a room with a handicap shower, after my shower the entire area was soaked. There hasn't enough towels to soak up all the water

The property is in clear need of an overhaul renovation and nothing is being invested in it. The furnishing are 30 years old and in poor condition. The cleanliness of the common areas is not terrific. When you walk in from the garage, it smells like a truck stop bathroom. As you ride up the elevator, you can see the years of grime on the support structure for the windows and the windows themselves have not been cleaned in many years. The bathroom in the room has a door and frame that is rotting. There was also no hot water. I called the front desk and they sent someone who could not communicate and what I was able to get out of it was this is how it is. This did not make sense since the day before, I was able to take a hot shower. I had to sponge bathe before leaving. The staff was friendly and the mattress was fairly new and comfortable and the room was clean. The online reviews make no sense as being good unless standards are very low by those who left them. It also make sense now why most of the pictures are at night time. The owner of this property should be ashamed of how this building is operated. I will never stay here again and will most definitely tell others to not waste their money. I love the South Padre Island area and so far this has been the only stain on my trips here.

It is infested with cockroaches. They gave us a handicap room that we didn’t need. The swimming pool area was dirty and the hot tub was not on.

Smelled horrible dirty furniture in rooms

Has been the worst hotel I've stayed at. The times I've gone to South Padre Island years back, I stayed here twice and it was okay, but now it has just gotten worse. Roaches in the fridge, hair in the towels and on the sheets. When I went down and told them to switch out the blankets, they never went. We stayed for two nights and not even one day of room service went by. Horrible, horrible hotel.

Do Not Stay Here! The moment you walk in the door it smells like mildew. They even took us to see a room on the 5th floor and it smelled all the way up. The chairs and furniture looks like they purchased them second hand, with stains and scratches. We ended up leaving and finding another place to stay.

It had Roaches in the room, the bed was made out but the bathroom weren’t clean the dirty towels were still on the floor, I had to call the front desk to complain about the issue and it wasn’t restocked with the towels as needed, as we walked into the room they were not pick up, it had a unpleasant smell as we walked into the room Air conditioner was leaking water and he will leave A puddle of water on the floor, I wasn’t satisfied of the stay where I was at

Very outdated, water faucets had mold mildew around, dirty, AC unit area very dirty and rusty.

I rarely leave reviews, but this hotel was so bad I feel obligated to warn others. From the moment we arrived, the experience was a disaster. The front desk staff were rude and dismissive, barely acknowledging us during check-in. The room itself was filthy stains on the sheets, hair in the bathroom, and a horrible musty smell that never went away. The air conditioning barely worked, the walls were paper-thin (we could hear everything from the rooms next door)I also didn’t feel safe the locks on the doors looked like they hadn’t been updated in decades, and there were people loitering in the parking lot at all hours. The water turned was shut off for close to 2 hours . No changed sheets no towels and no toilet paper for 4 day stay . I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Save your money and your sanity book anywhere else

bed was awful. sank in middle. couch was worse than the bed. not the cleanest. water pressure in shower was awful. could barely wash my hair. outdated, no charge ports or access to netflix and such. elevators are slower than molasses.

Very lovely hotel with a unique and comfortable style. The room was nice and clean, and, most notably, very spacious. I will definitely consider this location for future stays at the island.

There was tile outside my door in hallway and could hear every suitcase rolled through. There were also no curtains, just blinds which made it impossible to block sunlight. No thick comforter and pillow hurt my neck. Not a comfortable stay at all!

This hotel is a converted mall. So layout is weird. Anytime a door down the hall closes the whole room shakes. There was no hot water which was unacceptable. The view out our window was of a rooftop and was partial because of saltwater stained windows, beds were SO hard and pillows very flat. Room was moist and stuffy so bathing suits didn't dry overnight. The only good thing was the jacuzzi that was very hot and fed into the pool. So pool was heated.

Room was ok, but no internet access on the 4th level.

Room was spacious and clean. Excellent winter rates. Really small tv. Parking is a little difficult. They closed the 2nd story garage while we were there. Hotel phones were inoperable so you couldn't call the front desk. WiFi very slow. Extremely low water flow in shower.

Overpriced for the condition, but it was comfortable. I’ve never seen a suite with TWO KING beds AND a sofa bed, so that was nice. I felt trapped because I picked a date and when I hit reserve I noticed the date was for a different date and I couldn’t cancel it or I’d lose my money. So for the price I ended up paying I could have picked a hotel I actually wanted.

The rooms are big and on the clean side but could use some updating

Came in at 3:20, room wasn't ready and apparently there was like 3 other groups waiting also. The old lady and the chubby guy literally have an attitude problem. The pool was green, the hair dryer in my room didn't work, the shower head is all rusty so only 3 holes were throwing out water and the place smells.

Freddie was wonderful at front desk! He arranged so we could be near our friends. Gave us several recommendations for the area.

It’s very run down. They only cleaned our room once during a six day stay even though I requested it one day in specific and still they didn’t go. Due to this We had to go down to the lobby to get clean towels every day including rolls of toilet paper because they only left 1 for 4 people. At least the staff was nice.

I like that the pool was somewhat heated. Hotel is old but a good location, walkable to beach & food. Staff was friendly. However it was hard to get plenty of towels & washcloths. On our last day/night we were told there were no towels for our room or the pool.

First of all my husband's and i arrived there at 1:45 am, we checked in and the guy at front desk was very unresponsive and rude. After all the paper work were done we asked for a luggage cart his response was that people keep them in there room, if there is one it may be on the 2nd or 3rd floor. Mind you this is 1:45 am and wew were freaking exhausted, my husband and I are running around on every floor looking for a luggage cart while the front desk clerk is doing god knows what when he should be doing his job. During our stay there was never any clean towels or wash cloth, we didn't want or room clean we just asked for clean towels and toilet paper, we stayed for 3 nights and it was a freaking disaster during are whole stayed. Staff manager at this hotel facility is a joke! There towels are so nasty i wouldn't even used them as cleaning cloth for my own house. Asking the staff for anything that we need during our stay is and absolute disaster and of course they don't have them, there whole team of staff are rude and unprofessional, mind you our vehicle almost got towed because my husband and I were checking in, this people are unbelievable and I'm absolutely speechless that they can run this hotel like this! Please do not waste your money. The room is very old and smelly, the pillow cases and sheets were dirty, the place all together is run down!

We arrived for check-in around 1:30 pm, had to return at 3:00. Clerk was rude in saying it wasn't a condo for the price, and maybe I should have stayed elsewhere. The hotel seemed almost empty. We left, then returned. The elevator was stuck so we had to go up to the 4th floor by stairs, same for the morning, had to take the stairs down. The shower sprayed water everywhere, the bathroom sink had a lot of calcium around it. The bed sheets were very thin, had I known, I would have taken my own. I will not recommend this place to no one. I wanted to ask for a credit but the lady was being rude to the customer before me.

Sunchase is the most affordable beachside property that is located in the shopping/restaurant hub of the island - Denny's is a 1 minute walk next door 24 hour food , Charlies Pizza, McDonald's also 1 minute walk next door - CVS is a 3 minute walk, food trubks 2 minutes away. The beach access is a 1-2min walk - amazing location, its notnthe newest but very spacious and excellent price.

This particular hotel, the Sunchase Hotel & suites was rated 3.8 stars through your booking service through Expedia! It also advertised that there would be a complimentary breakfast which they did not offer as there wasn't even a restaurant &/dining area within this hotel! It's definitely not a 3.8 star hotel & doesn't offer you any type of breakfast at all! This hotel was without airconditioning throughout their hotel in the hallways & elevator! It was very dirty & filthy throughout the hotel! It had dirty fingerprinted glass doors, dirty fingerprints & scratched graffiti on the mirrors in the elevator, outdated & dirty furniture throughout the hotel including an outdated, dirty stainedsofa couch & beds within the hotel room! The beds were absolutely aged uncomfortable, dirty, & were visibly stained

This property is old and out dated NO breakfast. Our room was like an oven in the evenings. We had a Kichenette there were pots and pans but nothing to cook it on. The TV was the size of a lap top the small fridge sitting out in the floor. The only good thing is its next to a Denny's. Never staying here again!

The rooms are big and spacious. The location is amazing - very walkable and lots of options for shopping/dining within easy walks. Great garage parking. Felt safe all the way. Staff was great. Excellent value for the money! The only issue is the property is dated. Some updating is necessary.
