This is an autonomous hotel. Other that a cleaning staff, there is no one else on the property. Shortly after check in, self-check in, via a text with a room assignment and entry code, I was charged an amenity fee on my credit card. I called Weekender, the parent company of The Trailhead, and inquired about the charge. I was told it was to pay for the WiFi, breakfast, Hulu, and use of the lobby area. Since WiFi and breakfast were supposed to be included with the cost of the room, this was an unacceptable charge. As for use of the lobby area, I don’t even know what that means. You have to walk in there to get your “ breakfast items”, so why am I being charged for walking in there. The whole thing was ridiculous, insulting, and a money grab. Would not recommend this property.

This is a motel, two story, outdoor hallway to your room, not a hotel. That is not a complaint, just a fact. It was contactless check in, which was difficult because we booked through hotels.com, (the staff happened upon us and had to help - they were very nice). The room was very clean. It was nice to have Keurig coffee in the room. When we arrived the stairway smelled so strongly of bleach that it hurt to breathe it, the next morning, that same stairway smelled strongly of sewage. Not sure why but we reported the issue. Grab and go breakfast was available, which we appreciated. The room was also nice and quiet.

Room was basically clean and basically well maintained. The front door didn't shut all the way. Needs a deadbolt on it to keep it shut. Flush. Bathroom could have been a little cleaner this mold and some of the molding around the bottom of the tub and shower. The drain in the middle of the bathroom floor is good because the handicap shower but the floor is not tilted toward it. So the water just pools all over the floor of the bathroom. And then the odd note on the microwave about not putting the microwave dishes onto the furniture. Where else are we going to put them to eat? You don't offer placemats or anything so we just use the towel on top of the table as I place mat. But you might want to rethink that note. Heat was very good. Worked very well, except you must have air in the pipes because every time the heat came on it clanks a little like an old radiator. A plumber can fix that for you. You just needs to be bled. To grab and go breakfast. Although basic was a great feature. Made use of that a couple of mornings that was very good and very nice. Location to the wild center was excellent so overall decent and good. Never interacted with staff so can't tell you anything about the staff. One other minor thing. Not enough light in the room. One light didn't work. But not a lot enough like to read by or do anything by at night. Again, overall decent. A few more details to pay attention to and it would have been perfect in a five star

Room was clean & comfortable ( HVAC worked well) . There was a cracked window. When I notified them about the window they arrived quickly to check, told me it had been reported previously. The room had been updated BUT bath tub is from the 70’s ( blue) and there is paint missing from radiators and baseboard. The entry carpet is a well worn industrial type carpet, Even though the room has been redone it appears rustic and not modern. N When I had streaming issues with the TV he also arrived quickly to show me what I had done wrong. TV worked well after. The breakfast items ran out just after 8:00AM and did not get replenished before we left about 9AM. Shouldn’t advertise an included breakfast if there is not sufficient quantity. Overall not good value for the money spent but to be fair it is a busy week in the Adirondacks (leaf peppers) and all properties raise the rates.
