Great hotel with a nice size room. Area is away from hustle and bustle from Times Square. 5 minutes walk from Penn station. 2 minutes walk from nearest subway(Herald square) The free breakfast is ok we just had toast on the days we used it . Free tea and coffee available all day till 6pm. Staff were great & really helpful when we needed them. Room was cleaned daily. The only negative to cleaning we had is the air vents on the ceiling in the room for air conditioning were absolutely full of dust. But apart from that everything was spot on. We have stopped at 4 different hotels in the last 4 years in NYC and must say this one is at top for location and quality. WiFi is excellent in hotel and free mini fridge/Iron/Ironing in the room .They also store your luggage free of charge if you arrive early(before check in or leaving late after check Out) We would definitely come back to this hotel again if/when we returned to NYC .

I would highly recommend that you stay at Hotel Stanford. Very friendly staff. We were able to check in at 2 instead of 4. Excellent location to hop on a train to go anywhere. 3 blocks away from the Penn station if you catch the LIRR. It is a good size room and the bed is so comfortable to sleep on. Many options for breakfast. Coffee and tea from 10 until 6pm. CVS is on the same block. They also have coupons to many restaurants around the hotel. I went to Capt. Lou, across the street from the hotel, and got a lobster roll for only $19.99 and with the 10% off. I will definitely stay at this hotel when I come back to NY!

Convenient location and friendly staff but sub par in every other way. From the dirty carpets to the slow single elevator it’s very worn and has seen better days. Shower had very little water pressure and has a flimsy curtain that sticks to you while you’re trying to rinse off. The room door is warped or missing a seal so the hallway light is blinding all night.

We couldn’t have picked a better location to stay. You are less than a 10 minute walk to many of New York’s attractions. There is a subway station less than a minute from the hotel (Herald Square) that is very convenient to use. We were able to check our luggage before we checked in as well as after we checked out allowing us to explore the city without hauling luggage around. Staff were friendly and helpful. The building is old and shows its age. But it’s part of the ambiance. Breakfast was interesting including Vienna sausage, mashed potatoes, salad with ranch dressing, and toast & bagels. We chose to eat elsewhere. There is no lack of food in the area including some great Korean shops. The view out the window was a brick wall with an occasional pigeon. The beds were extremely comfortable which was way more important than the view. If you’re looking for fancy, this isn’t the place. If you’re looking for a great location, friendly staff, and a comfy place to sleep, stay here. We would do it again.

Clean and comfortable. Our room was very quiet. Breakfast was fine, however, offerings of mashed potatoes and salad are unusual. Breakfast room gets very crowded. Good location close to subway. Welcoming staff. Would gladly stay there again.

The property is a little outdated but was clean, staff very helpful and efficient. Kept our luggage as we were early which freed us up to do some sightseeing. Coffee available most of the day in the bar/dining area. Great continental breakfast, only downside is it needs to be varied every other day. Would have liked a croissant option on some days instead of the repetitive items every day. Breakfast staff very efficient. Overall a great stay and location, would use this hotel again.

Great staff, clean hotel and a great location in the middle of K Town. However, he complimentary breakfast was a little lackluster, the elevator was small (official max capacity of ten, but its impossible to fit more than 6 people without luggage), and my 4 night stay that I paid $1400 for is now a $4000 stay for the same weekend next year 🙃

Blood stained pillow for the first night. We had a normal bathroom mat for the first night but not the second night. placed a small towel (same small towel for guest) on the floor for the second night. Then no bathroom mat for the third night.

Outstanding staff, clean room, lounge, and lobby.

Overall good and great location. Room was comfortable but the bedroom rug was stained and detracted from the overall good quality.

I found a underpans in the room. Their is a few hairs in the sower that everyone chould see even the cleaner . The location is very good. And the zervice at the breakfast was very kindly

Was disappointing I stayed back in February only two months earlier and the hotel was great. This visit wasn't it was a trip with my mum and the toliet wouldn't flush and flooded on a different time they didn't even clean that up properly just moped up the dirty water. Room wasn't clean. Dusty and pink soap scrum in shower. Didn't vacuum once on our 8 day stay.

Very clean and well maintained for an old hotel. The beds were very very comfortable! We were able to walk to the theater district/Times Square or the subway is right on the corner if we were going farther. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel was in a convenient location near Penn Station. Whilst superficially clean the doors and furniture were sticky and needed a good clean. The rooms were somewhat dated and the hairdryer did not work. We were on the 4 Th floor and it was very noisy. There is only one small lift which is not enough for a hotel of this size. It was virtually import get a lift and we ended up carrying suitcases down the stairs. Stairs were dirty

The heating system did not work, no glasses or cups in the room and we had to go to second floor when we were staying on the 8th floor. The internet was extremely terrible, as you should advertise that your internet is, "dial up," as I had to use my hot spot to have internet. It seemed outdated and carpet seemed old. The staff was nice. It just lacked value.

Property was clean, but old. Photos in listing are not accurate, windows have been photoshopped, they are actually bricked over and same as a bottom deck cruise ship room with no daylight. Staff professional and nice, however very limited by senior management in being able to provide true 4-star experience and clearly not a goal to have repeat customers. Posh room prices for a motel 6 experience. Brown water flowing into tub. Forced Room change and no upgrade. Paid more than $150 over current rate because I booked in advance and rate dropped, refused to make an adjustment.

Hot water was difficult to get for the first day and a half. Rooms do not actually have temperature control so saying there is “AC” felt misleading, but I recognize it’s been unseasonably warm. The staff did bring up a fan and were very kind and attentive. Room was pretty loud during the day due to construction outside but it’s the city so that’s pretty expected for a building of this age. If you need to work from the room or sleep during the day I might consider another option. The location is fantastic! Even with all of this I would stay again if I needed to be in this area of the city

The location was excellent. The beds were comfortable. The water pressure was an issue. Breakfast could be improved.

Stayed here with a friend for a long weekend. Our (2 double bed) room was spacious, clean, and surprisingly quiet despite abutting the elevator. The one time we called down for assistance, service was very fast. Front desk and door staff were consistently prompt and friendly. I didn't use the wi-fi so cannot speak to it personally, but my friend seemed to have no issues or complaints with it. AC worked smoothly. We enjoyed complimentary water and continental breakfast daily before heading out on city adventures, for which this hotel is perfectly centrally located. I would love to stay here again the next time I'm in town!

Great location, large clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed and pillows, good a/c, doorman, within feet of a subway stop, very close to Empire State Building. Times Square is a short walk. Nice that my room was ready a bit early. One small negative for me was that the continental breakfast was limited (bananas, apples, American cheese, toast, bagels, cereals, yogurt, coffee, bottled water, mashed potatoes, cut up hot dogs), and it’s the same each day. But, in fairness, it does say “continental breakfast,” not full breakfast. Waits for the one elevator were sometimes long, also. Other than that, I enjoyed my three night stay and would stay here again.

Although we knew the area was busy far past a reasonable amount of noise that was able to come through the windows even on the 11tb floor all day and night. We’ve stayed in Times Squaee before and could not hear the amount of noise we heard from our room at Hotel Stanford. The other major issue was lack of hot water and pressure. Sometimes the water pressure is out of a hotels control, however hot water is not. Took multiple showers that were completely cold and the times it did warm up, it was luke warm at best. I rarely do a review but felt this information should be shared.

Staff are extremely rude. For a country that supposedly relies on tips, you’d think the service would be impeccable. Unfortunately not. Checking in was difficult, the lady struggled to converse. Checking out was worse, the chap extremely rude, no receipt given.

Hotel Stanford was a nice hotel. Very lovely, safe, clean, and pleasant hotel. The staff were professional and welcoming. More than happy to give you additional help to make your stay more enjoyable. Someone was always at the front desk along with a doorman to help with luggage and to make you laugh. Really appreciated the help with the luggage in and out of the hotel. Our check in was smooth and they give you a list of restaurants and places that you can go to and get an additional 10% off your bill. We did just that at the restaurant next door. It was yummy. The beds were comfortable and the room very clean. We had a safe and a refrigerator in our room and more than enough space for our excessive luggage. As far as location, you really can't get better. I loved our lower Manhattan hotel at Christmas, but this location was way more convenient as you are near everything like the Empire State Building, Hop On and Hop Off bus stop, and Madison Square Garden. The food in the area is great and people are very nice. One drawback: The breakfast is odd. No eggs any style or bacon. They had instant mashed potatoes, Vienna Sausages, and salad makings instead. Toast saved them, but plan on eating elsewhere for breakfast. You do get one free bottle of water per person each day. HINT: *Make reservations way in advance. *They will store luggage before Check In.*If you are going to use the 10% off connected to the Hotel, ask for a coupon before you head out.

I travel to NYC for business around 3 times per year. This is the first time I have stayed at Hotel Stanford. What an amazing combination of location, convenience, shopping, restaurants, access to MSG and other major points of interest. The hotel staff is second to none. This trip I have experienced a whole new standard for hotel customer service. It feels like using friendly as a way to describe them is so understated. This staff has totally raised the bar for their display of excellence in all areas.

Amazing stay as always. The staff is kind and tries to accomodate any needs you may have. They are very informative about what is available and even offer discounts for nearby restaurants to help you stay on budget during your stay. The room is very comfortable and clean. You have your basic necessities and the complimentary continental breakfast and after hours coffee service is a huge creature comfort that you wont always find in your New York hotel stays. This hotel is my #1 choice of stays during my visits to the city.

A neat little hotel in a perfect location. We loved this location...as we love to walk and explore. You are minutes from the Empire State Building, a 5-8 minute walk from Penn Station and Madison Square Garden (on the same street), 10-minute walk to Bryant Park/NY Public Library, 15min to Times Square, 20 mins to Grand Central Station, 30 mins to Central Park.... you get the idea. However, if you like a balance, we also accessed the subway which is literally at your doorstep to get Downtown and Uptown. The front office staff were always friendly, and the continental included breakfast both convenient and a bonus! Access to and from the JFK airport is easy...take the AirTrain to Jamaica then Switch to the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) and head to Penn Square. All up this will cost around $10 and take around 1-hour 15mins. A taxi costs between $85 and $100.

I was treated very badly by front desk staff early morning upon check in. The woman took my card and ID, made me think I was checked in. Then told us to leave our bags and go eat breakfast first. We ate, came back downstairs to get our room key and bags. No room ready. We patiently waited, agreed to pay any extra fee’s because we were there before 4pm (which is crazy). Hours passed, still no acknowledgement from staff. I ask what’s going on she tells us the room will be ready shortly, then rudely asks us to wait away from her upstairs in bar. We keep checking in, still no room. We watched the 2 employees call in others who came after us. Telling them their room is ready! Around 4:10pm they check in other guests before us! At this point we waited 8 hours for our room. Insane! Finally they check us in. We ask to speak to a manager. They lie and say the girl who was rude is new. How does that fix anything? When entering the room, we have hair in shower and stained pillow cases. 8 hour wait, when promised our room was ready, then a dirty room. Unacceptable! I’m still waiting for acknowledgment from my report to management. Nothing! I will not be booking here again. Nor will any of my clients or the agencies connected to us. Throughout my stay we heard the same lies to new guests about rooms being unavailable and upset people sitting in the lobby past check in time. Don’t book here! You won’t have a clean room ready.

Perfect business hotel in the Corean sector of NYC. Close to Macy's for shopping and easy access between 5th and Broadway.

This is the perfect location! Two blocks from a subway station and walking distance to all of the main sights. It is a quiet location. The staff are very attentive and helpful. Breakfast is a basic European style.

This hotel is situated in a convenient and very walkable area. A subway station is steps away, cabs are readily available, and private cars can be arranged at the front desk. This area is safe, although very loud at night. The rooms are well kept, although very dated. Having said that, the rooms are incredibly spacious for NYC. Surprisingly, very little noise is noticeable from neighboring rooms; however, the street noise is very loud and sleep is difficult. As many have noted, breakfast is indeed an odd assortment of food. Overall, I would stay here again for the sake of convenience, but not for luxury.

Everything was so close. We were on a short walking distance from the empire state building, times square, penn station, MSG, … but also there is a subway line just next to the hotel. It’s also near (in) koreatown so there are convenience stores, restaurants, cafés, … nearby. The breakfast was pretty good considering I expected way less from the comments I read. So overall great experience! Would recommend.

The location right next to a MTA intersecting metro station was perfect it made getting around the city easy. The hotel is a short walk from some major sights the area was vibrant and safe. The hotel upgraded me on check in to a larger room the Wi-Fi was excellent Bathroom well equipped all good.

Refurbished older hotel. Has everything needed, but not top notch. That said, the bed and bedding was very comfortable. It also has a nice, free breakfast open from 6:30 to 10:00a.m. very conveniently located. The Herald Square subway station is only 1/4th of a block away

This hotel is in Midtown South Manhattan near the Empire State Building. The hotel is a pretty good value for the area. Our room was large and nice and the hotel staff were great. Free breakfast was a big plus. There is a subway station steps from the hotel. There are more than enough places to eat and Greeley Square and Herald Square are right there. It is in a very busy area in Koreatown. The immediate area is okay but you could call it a little loud and dirty. All in all, this worked well for our once-in-a-lifetime week as tourists in NYC.

The entire staff was incredible! Our room was very clean and spacious. We had a wonderful stay. We do have one question, though. What's with the breakfast offering of mashed potatoes and Vienna sausages, LOL!

Liked that breakfast was included and offered more variety than last time. Especially liked the salad, grape tomatoes and olives. Mashed potato and sausage also were a good addition to the cereal, toast, bagels, yogurt and fruit. Really like that the Keurig machines are available all day for coffee. It would be nice if the bathrooms had hooks behind the door.

Good location. Only 1 small and slow elevator. Narrow stairs. Breakfast was terrible. They served salad, mashed potatoes and these gross mushy little hot dogs. No eggs. Breakfast room had a poster with the word b*tch on it. Not family friendly or professional. Bathtub had some black mold. Outdated interior

The hotel is in a convenient location with shopping, eating, and the subway in walking distance. I would have liked a better selection for breakfast, especially in the protein area. Also, my room had a few electric outlets that didn’t work. Overall, the stay was okay, no major problems.
