I gave this place a two star for convenience. When I first got there, they couldn’t find my reservation. Once that was finally settled, my husband and I get to our room…the floor is dirty. There’s no tissue, no soap. The tub was filled with dry wall. The bathroom sink leaked from the pipes under it when you turn the sink on. The bed was hard. The hallway was filled with random trash, work equipment, Roku sticks. Just dirty. The walls are extremely thin. All night it sounded like somebody was above us stomping expect we were on the top floor!!

Unannounced under renovation (bad sloppy renos) from the website description. THE SITE SAYS FREE BREAKFAST but there was none. I called the front desk just to ask when it ends and he said: “I don’t know nothing about a free breakfast” Also our floor were so dirty that we ended up placing some towels down near the bathroom/sink area after me wiping it a bit before. Everything else was nicely clean. PS: bedsheets not so soft, but whatever.

The hotel did not have a jicuzzin as it stated in its over view when i was searching for a hotel this was a big deal for me as it was one of the reasons I chose this hotel Secondly there was someone above us who kept stomping around all night even after we notified the front desk it continued all hours of the night. Thirdly the room was much smaller than expected and the bed was a full size bed not a queen I have a queen bed at home and it was much smaller than my bed at home.

There was a roof repair being done. The crew began at 8am. It sounded like an elephant herd directly above my room. This location did not have any luggage carts to assist unloading at check-in nor for loading at check-out. I would think this would be standard equipment at all hotels. The free breakfast closing at 9am is inconvenient. The item selection available was poor.

While it appears they are renovating the property, these renovations are being done by amateurs. We stayed in a newly renovated room. The chemical smell made it difficult to sleep. There were paint splashes all over the floor, countertop, and stove. There were outlet covers missing from the walls, the room was dusty, and doesn't look like it and been properly cleaned. The television was mounted to the wall crooked. The only bright spot was the extremely friendly staff at the front desk.

The hotel looks as if it had nothing done to it in 25 yrs any thing that broke was still broke . it is under renovation now. the fridge smelt really bad and also froze our food, the room was cluttered with too much furniture. the room also had a slight smell to it. The breakfast tables were not cleaned from one morning to the next ! The elevator was dirty the halls were dirty, the entrance was dirty. the bathroom was dimly lit. The ice maker was broken . The pool was closed for renovation but advertised as having a pool . The sheets were clean and the orange juice was good at breakfast . Breakfast had the very minimum and still be able to call it breakfast . They took all the profit for 25 years and put nothing back ! find a different hotel this one is a disaster !

Hotel staff are helpful and friendly. Nice, clean room and the price was great for having a fridge, stove, microwave, and sink. No coffeemaker. Building wasn't secure, some outside doors were propped open all night. Overall good experience, and would book again.

I had to change rooms three times. The first room wasn’t cleaned, the second room, the bathroom was covered in gnats (bugs). It was disgusting. The rugs haven’t been vacuumed and the breakfast area was filthy. No coffee and no cups. I will never stay here again. Disgusting.

We had to change rooms because the tv did not work. The 2 room we changed in the door looked like it was kicked in and the wind was coming through the room the heat had to be on 80 to not be freezing in the room. And when we got in the room the furniture was pull from the wall. The floor looked like it was not mop yet but we did not want to change rooms again cause it was cold going back and forth to the lobby.
We had to change rooms because the tv did not work. Hands down The worst experience in my entire life was renting a hotel for one night from this place. I would never, ever recommend my worst enemy to stay at this place. You are at risk of bed bugs, cockroaches and an unsanitary environment.

Dirty generally. Room: moldy shower, gross tub surface, dresser handle off, no brewing tray for coffee maker, missing light bulbs (4) over sink. Linens and bed fine. Newer toilet--but wobbly seat. Receptionist highly impersonal and almost rude--no welcome, eye contact or thanks for staying, etc. Breakfast sparse. Walkways trashy. Windows dirty. Avoidable in future.

Room was not in shape for guests. Odor smelled like smoke. Entrance light switch did nothing. Bathroom floor was slippery. There were loose tile on the bathroom floor. Toilet seat was loose. When we got there the door to room had a big dent in frame like it was broken into. The fridge wasn't cleaned out had worker cleaned it for us. All of the TV's in hotel was smart tv and only shared 1 wifi so no Internet.

It was good, clean fresh smelling, too... bath tub faucet leaked, water in tub was scalding hot. No light bulbs in the wall sconces, limiting use of turning the lights on to just the over head light, which was too bright. ALSO the key card expired requiring i go to the desk to get it reset. The building is next to a busy freeway, was quite loud. But in inside the room wa quiet like church. I would stay there again, staff was very helpful. Thank you.

Staff was super friendly and helpful! The property has been getting some updates and they are making better. The lobby looks and smells great! Our room was clean and comfortable. The only thing I would suggest is if you are bothered by noise overhead or you’re a light sleeper than you should request a room on the upper level. Also, if you have trouble with the tv the staff will come help resolve the issue. The tv is set up through WiFi with Roku and if it gets reset it can be a little challenge to get it connected but the staff will gladly help (it’s a quick fix). We would stay again…great staff, comfortable room with a great price!

The Red Roof Inn Auburn Hills offers a great stay at a budget price. The room was comfortable, clean and tidy, and the location is great, being close to many dining and shopping opportunities like the Great Lakes Crossing Outlet Mall. I will definitely be returning.

The front desk guy got an attitude and was upset with the printer, he yelled and punched the printer right in front of us. The room had no heat at all and very thin blankets, it was 20 degrees outside so it was horrible.

We got to the hotel with 45 minutes to get ready for my reunion, which i drover over 5 hours for. We were told they doubled booked and did not jave a room for us, unless all three adults would sleep on 1 king size better together. Obviously this wouldnt work so the desk agent canceled our booking and basically said we cant help you youre on your own. We ran mext door to another hotel got a room with 20 minutes left to get ready but also had to pay $40 more. Very upset and disappointed

We got the how was your check in message from Expedia 2 hrs before we arrived. When we did arrive around 1030 pm the male clerk was asleep at the welcome desk. He was still groggy, spoke horrible English if not on something as well. It took him awhile to find my reservation and finally issued a key for room 140. When i arrived the door was clearly open 2-3 inches, the room smelled and the sheets were dirty. As we had been on the road all day and he cleary was not the person to make anything right in that moment i simply told him the situation and left. Someone owes me a full refund including expedia point amt i used.

When we showed up, he tried to tell us that there was a rate difference and we had to pay an extra $50/night, or cancel our reservation through expedia and pay them directly. My husband got upset and did swear once, this guy responded by swearing and yelling back, then pulled out his vape and vaped right in front of us. When my husband said we came from Canada, it was a different tune from this guy. He thought we were from Ohio just from looking at my license. If I hadn't used my expedia points to help pay for the room, and if we could have afforded to go elsewhere, I would have walked right out!! We also had some difficulties with the room, were told twice maintenence was coming, they never did, and we had to switch rooms. Would NEVER stay at this place or ANY Red Roof Inn again!!

The room was recently remodeled and very clean. Two minor issues in the room and front desk staff were very quick to solve the problems (even offering to give us a different room which was not needed). Night time staff was very empathetic when we had to check out in the middle of the night due to a family emergency that we needed to get home for (seemed genuinely concerned for us and our safety driving home). Would recommend a stay here if you're looking for cheap price and no extras like restaurant, continental breakfast, etc.

Unannounced under renovation (bad sloppy renos) from the website description. THE SITE SAYS FREE BREAKFAST but there was none. I called the front desk just to ask when it ends and he said: “I don’t know nothing about a free breakfast” Also our floor were so dirty that we ended up placing some towels down near the bathroom/sink area after me wiping it a bit before. Everything else was nicely clean. PS: bedsheets not so soft, but whatever.

Hotel was disgusting, it was under construction, dust everywhere, smelled like cigarette smoke everywhere, our mattress was ancient, tub was gross. Breakfast was a joke, first morning there they closed breakfast up an hour early and then said the posted time was wrong but it was posted in 2 places and the night desk told us it was until 10 am as well. Second day we got breakfast, it was coffee, juice and a nutragrain bar. Manager was rude. Close this place!

We stayed there the night before my daughter's graduation. The check-in desk was so high I had to stand on my tiptoes in order to sign the paperwork. The clerk was extremely friendly though. The entire 3rd floor reeked of marijuana. Our room was clean enough, but the towel bar by the sink was broken/missing. The "continental breakfast" was nothing but instant oatmeal and cereal, no pastries; bagels; etc. Overall I would rate this stay a 2.5/3 stars but no higher.

Dirty generally. Room: moldy shower, gross tub surface, dresser handle off, no brewing tray for coffee maker, missing light bulbs (4) over sink. Linens and bed fine. Newer toilet--but wobbly seat. The hotel looks as if it had nothing done to it in 25 yrs any thing that broke was still broke . it is under renovation now. the fridge smelt really bad and also froze our food, the room was cluttered with too much furniture. the room also had a slight smell to it. The breakfast tables were not cleaned from one morning to the next ! The elevator was dirty the halls were dirty, the entrance was dirty. the bathroom was dimly lit. The ice maker was broken . The pool was closed for renovation but advertised as having a pool . The sheets were clean and the orange juice was good at breakfast . Breakfast had the very minimum and still be able to call it breakfast . They took all the profit for 25 years and put nothing back ! find a different hotel this one is a disaster !

Afterwards, called customer service who confirmed they most likely gave away my other room. Lobby reeked of cigarettes & people were just loitering all around outside smoking. Felt unsafe. Went online afterwards & the website was still allowing them to book rooms. Ridiculous & very unprofessional.
