Incredibly beautiful but also comfortable hotel, convenient to everything downtown and train station. Excellent bar. Valet parking is pricey but in line with what you’d expect to pay at a Ritz.

I've stayed at Ritz Carlton properties for years and for the most part my stays have been enjoyable. However, this stay was one of the worst in recent memory and I'm not sure if I will stay at a Ritz Carlton property again in the future. Some of the pillow cases were stained/dirty, the towels felt like sand paper, the phone was not working, the fire alarm went off at 6am Sunday morning and life safety instructions were unclear at best, my wife ordered a bagel and it was not only poor in quality it was burnt black, just a terrible experience.

Terrible experience. Got in late from traveling and I didn’t expect to walk into a smoke room with smoky wet dirty stinky pillows. The room smelt smoky and moldy. The bathtub was dirty. I would honestly love a refund. I’m also a Marriot member and haven’t experienced this before and when I spend a lot of money I expect a clean room. Especially traveling with two toddlers.

The head rest of the bed was dirty and sticky..we asked to get it cleaned. Never happened so we cleaned it up ourselves. The water pressure was so poor, you could not take a shower properly. We asked drive to open a water pressure and never got fixed. Would not stay here again.

We traveled from New York City down to Philadelphia for a concert and a special night, Lamont Landers at Milk Boy, my Christmas present from my wife. We thought the Ritz was a sure bet. But when we returned from the concert, we found that our shower was unusable. It sounded like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and would only produce extremely cold water. Until we simultaneously turned on the sink, and then we got extremely hot water. It was late, and the noise the shower was making was no doubt waking up our neighbors, so we went to bed and tried again in the morning, getting the same results. We could hear our neighbor’s shower making the same noise. When we went downstairs for breakfast, we spoke to the manager, who said she would look into it and meet us when we checked out. When we did check out, the front desk clerk made no effort to find the manager and had clearly been told to tell us she was in an accounting meeting. We had to shower when we got home. As people who have used Ritz hotels as a frequent local weekend escape, and as our hotel of choice for distant vacations, we are extremely disappointed.

First, I’d like to say that the staff was lovely and the lobby was very beautiful, architecturally speaking. But our room was… not great. Curtains were ripped. We found an old deflated balloon in the closet when getting linens for the pull-out sofa. The linens for said sofa consisted of a pillow and a prison blanket. The refrigerator drawer was broken, so we could not have cold drinks unless we ordered from room service. Most outlets in the common area did not work, even with several “does flipping this switch change it?” experiments. I’ve stayed in nicer Hampton Inns.

The building itself is gorgeous. A testament to bygone era grandeur. However, inside the rooms are lacking,. Worn, dated furnishings and mismatched decor, cheap, low grade towels, all were a disappointment compared to other Ritz Carlton properties. Hotel rooms need an update.i paid $1300 for one night in a suite, I was expecting Ritz-Call to luxury. Instead I got basic hotel amenities.

I have stayed at a number of Ritz and Four Seasons properties. This is not top tier. We stayed in a standard room which had a battered old refrigerator sitting on the floor. That is not Ritz, that’s airport Marriott. Ditto the half-functioning phone. And the toiletries which genuinely smelled bad. I remember when Ritz had Bulgari toiletries. Room service was very good, service in the bar and restaurant was lazy and uninvolved. This hotel needs a major refresh and some new energy and commitment in food and beverage.

My only concern was that your room was next to the elevator bank, which could have been very noisy. It did vibrate in the room when the elevator was in use. but by the time we went to bed, the activity lessened.

Bed was really comfy. Wasn't impressed with the room though for the prices of a Ritz and it didn't have refrigerator other than the mini-bar. The bartenders and bellmen were FANTASTIC! Breakfast was average, but the eggs were excellent! Be aware you will hear the bell from City Hall on the hour so if you want to sleep in, don't stay here!

Overall, the stay was great! Everyone was very nice and accommodating. The bar and lobby area were amazing. Location everything! The views from my corner king room were stunning and made everything worth it… I was a little disappointed with the dated and plain condition of the room itself. It was my first time staying at a Ritz and I guess maybe I was expecting the best room ever.

My girlfriend and I were in town and stayed at The Ritz Carlton Philadelphia. The property looked elegant and inviting on their Instagram page as well as on the internet which was the main reason I picked The Ritz Carlton instead of The Four Seasons at Comcast Center, however it didn’t seem to be that way when I arrived at the property. My other main concern was that one African American front desk associate who was not so pleasant and had a negative attitude during check in. I asked the lady a few significant questions and she seemed disinterested in giving assistance. Both Men’s and Women’s bathroom (according to my girlfriend) in the lobby were also not maintained and in disrepair. I am a big fan of The Ritz Carlton and the service it offers since I’ve been to a few in the country, but the one in Philadelphia needs to uphold the prestige and the top tier service that I believe the brand still stands for.

My girlfriend and I were in town and stayed at The Ritz Carlton Philadelphia. The property looked elegant and inviting on their Instagram page as well as on the internet which was the main reason I picked The Ritz Carlton instead of The Four Seasons at Comcast Center, however it didn’t seem to be that way when I arrived at the property. My other main concern was that one African American front desk associate who was not so pleasant and had a negative attitude during check in. I asked the lady a few significant questions and she seemed disinterested in giving assistance. Both Men’s and Women’s bathroom (according to my girlfriend) in the lobby were also not maintained and in disrepair. I have never heard the word ‘no’ as many times as I heard it at this property…No, sorry we can’t do that…No, you’ll have to ask someone else for that…No, we don’t offer that…No,no,no. The only ‘no’ I will remember is the “No, I will never stay at this property again”. As a frequent Ritz Carlton customer, I can say that I was highly disappointed with the service at almost every touch point— from the front desk to the concierge to the restaurant. So happy it was just a one night stay!

Beautiful, stunning hotel, great food from the restaurant to the bar to in room dining! We had a few hiccups with our check in, having to return to the front desk 4 times before our room was ready. Made for a very long travel day. I would encourage management to ensure your new (or newer) front desk employees are ready for service worthy of the Ritz Carlton brand before putting them on duty. Great location and would stay here again!

Celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary at the Ritz for 2 nights and it was amazing. Perfect. The check in process was quick and Bettina was so friendly. The lobby is gorgeous with a restaurant (open til 11pm)and bar open til 1am. Our deluxe king room was so nice with a city view. The location is perfect and we could walk to so many restaurants. This hotel is located right next to city hall, across the street from capital grill and McCormick and Shmicks. We were about a block from Del Friscos and maybe 2 blocks to El Vez. These restaurants are all popular dinner spots in Philly. Stay here! The property is so clean and the staff is so friendly. Nick the bartender was amazing and the doormen are so great as well. Hope to be back soon!

The hotel is clean, and leans heavy into its heritage as a name associated with luxury. That doesn't change its location-- it is in the middle of downtown surrounded by abhorrent traffic at peak times, walking outside greets you with the city smell of trash and smog, and if you plan on eating food in the city as of Dec 2023, you'll pay twice as much as you would outside of the city limits. The hotel is a pleasant stay -- the experience, not so much. You could do better by finding a stay outside the city and traveling in and out.

The hotel was amazing. From the Valets to the front desk I was impressed. If I could change one thing I would ask for the bartenders to more responsive to the guests. They were a bit standoffish and not what I would have expected from this caliber of hotel.

I have stayed at a number of Ritz and Four Seasons properties. This is not top tier. We stayed in a standard room which had a battered old refrigerator sitting on the floor. That is not Ritz, that’s airport Marriott. Ditto the half-functioning phone. And the toiletries which genuinely smelled bad. I remember when Ritz had Bulgari toiletries. Room service was very good, service in the bar and restaurant was lazy and uninvolved. This hotel needs a major refresh and some new energy and commitment in food and beverage.

The entire staff at the Ritz deserve kudos and praise for having made New Year’s Eve such unforgettable experience. It was something out of a Fairy Tale and my stay will forever be one I remember fondly in my heart! I don’t want to forget anyone from the staff at the front door greeting us, the bellboys to the wonderful team at the Reception. I do, however, want to emphasize a special mention for having done such extraordinary work to Lauren, all the servers at Aqimero and in particular the bartenders which made New Year’s Eve possible!! And a personal shout out to that gorgeous man ws in charge of setting up the venue to make it look, in every way, that we were borrowing a page out of The Great Gatsby for this evening. He did a fabulous job and I had the privilege to speak to him afterwards and was blown away by his commitment to Event Planning. All in all, I hope this review brings great News to all the team at the Ritz and that they know I could never have dreamed a better way to close 2024 and start the New Year 2025 than in sharing time, company and memories at The Ritz!

Bed was really comfy. Wasn't impressed with the room though for the prices of a Ritz and it didn't have refrigerator other than the mini-bar. The bartenders and bellmen were FANTASTIC! Breakfast was average, but the eggs were excellent! Be aware you will hear the bell from City Hall on the hour so if you want to sleep in, don't stay here!

Checking in took at least 15 minutes after I was being helped at the counter. No idea why as I had no questions or issues. Being charged $4 for an ice cube at the bar was frustrating, partly b/c it's ridiculous and partly b/c it's not transparent. You order an $18 drink and it shows up as $22 without a line item comes across as price gauging.

A smoothie, omelette, and oatmeal cost me close to $80, and paying for breakfast as part of the booking only gives you a credit rather than an included breakfast. - dated furniture and bathrooms. Rooms are def in need of an upgrade. Water pressure in the showers was poor, and the bathroom leaked after every shower. Room felt more like a 3 star. - doormen don't help with bags or doors etc.

The check in process took a while. There was a line of people and only 1 person checking people in. a very nice gentlemen that was vry friendly. While a woman stood next to the check in clerk doing something on the computer and never raised her head to help a customer in the 20 minutes I stood in line and there was 1 person ahead of me and at least 6 people behind me waiting in line. Then we went to the restaurant/bar area for some quick bites. it was 4:00pm and our wedding reception was at 6:00. We sat and waited for at least 20 minutes until I finally asked the hostess if someone could help us again and she said there was only 1 server/bartender and it would take some time. After that ,a very nice gentlemen who was not a server came over to help us and took our order. I assume he was a manager of some sort. I did not understand why on a Friday afternoon when everyone is checking in for the weekends . Weddings all over, why was there no help? It seemed more like a scheduling problem than a staffing issue. The valet , bell hop were all outstanding and accommodating. The room was ok felt a little tired but was clean. The rugs in the restaurant area looked soiled or maybe it was a shadowing in the rug I really could not tell so I did not think that was a good thing. We had breakfast in the morning and had an outstanding server , her name was Quinn. So nice and a wonderful warm welcoming smile and demeanor.
