We had a great time at this unique and beautiful home! The home had everything we could need. We loved watching the sunsets and sunrises from the deck, gazing at the stars from the hot tub and taking a quick trip down to the hot springs - I couldn’t recommend staying here enough! The host was extremely communicative and made sure we felt right at home!

This property is situated on a gorgeous piece of land that is peaceful and well-maintained. The place was perfect for our family of four. Our two boys shared the second bedroom, which had two beds. There was everything we needed to cook several meals, use the hot tub, and clean a load of laundry. The ride into town is not too far, with a great view as you go. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

We had such fun staying here!! The house is amazing, and loved learning more about it. I love how tall the counters are, makes things so much easier for us giants! The furnishings are eclectic and comfy. I loved that there was only 1 TV, the kitchen was so fun to cook in - and the exterior was fantastic. We were able to take both roads to access the house - one is for the adventurous soul the other isn't lol. It was also awesome to have a semi-private access to the trails and Rio Grande away from the John Dunn Bridge access. Great views and the hot tub was relaxing. We also had a great and easy time accessing this reservation through VRBO. We will highly recommend this place to others and will probably come back!!

The house, property and owner were all great! House is very isolated but with great views and hike into the gorge to the hot springs. Owner was easy to communicate with. Hot tub and fire pit at night were great!

Top of the list of VRBO properties where I have stayed . A very special place. We stayed 3 nights and did not leave property . It is situated between historic Manby Hot Springs (good short hike ! right from property) with views of the Dobson House (! this was a surprise). We felt we were in the middle of nowhere yet completely safe and secure. The location is residential with neighbors few and far between. Good Wi-fi. The hot tub was VERY clean and already hot when we got there, worked perfectly, easily controlled and perfectly situated. The beds comfortable and kitchen well-stocked . Outdoor spaces were divine and each patio seemed to have its own bird friends/species. The road in was 4x4 worthy ! A little intimidating if we would have needed to go back and forth to town. It is a slow but doable 4 miles of graded dirt but honestly once we were there with (recommend) carry groceries in, we felt zero need to leave. A fantastic stay and I cannot thank you enough Katherin for sharing your place. It was just what the doctor ordered and then some ! Beautiful, peaceful and memorable. (*We found ourselves attached to whomever the oversized height kitchen and bathrooms were designed for. I could only view the top of my head in mirrors and had no small concern that the gas stove would light my hair on fire . I used a stool (provided !). This house was just what we needed for a long weekend away from rainy Seattle. The house was so comfortable and perfectly situated on the property. Took advantage of the hiking trails down to the hot springs where we have ultimate privacy on a crisp fall morning. House had everything we needed for our stay. Beds were very comfortable and the decor was tasteful and functional and stylish. Hot tub under the stars was perfect, fire pit watching the moonrise, magical! Kitchen was adequately stocked and had everything needed. Our favorite part about the house was its secluded location, perfectly situated to feel like we were the only people around. Just what these city dwellers needed! Distance to town was about 15-20 min.

An incredible, beautiful house and property! I particularly loved reading about how the house was built. The property speaks for itself: gorgeous, remote, and breathtaking. We spent most of our time on the porch in the wonderful hot tub or lounging on the comfortable chairs taking in the views. The stargazing was incredible!! Hope to visit again soon!

The pictures for the house do not do it justice. We stayed a week for our 20th anniversary and it was perfect. You feel very isolated at the house but are less than 20 minute drive to specialty grocery store and fine dining. The hike to the hot springs and the stars from the hot tub at night were our favorite thing about our trip. We will definitely be back. If you like going to the end of the road, this place is for you. Its location is incredibly serene and beautiful, perched just a few hundred yards from the edge of the Rio Grande gorge. The view alone could keep you captivated for many hours, but walk out the door and down into the gorge and you are soaking in hot springs and looking for bighorn sheep. The house itself was very user friendly and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. We appreciated that the kitchen was well appointed with new appliances. We enjoyed the wood stove during a November snow storm. The hosts were responsive, although we had all of the information we needed upfront and the property is very straightforward to access and navigate. Overall, this is wonderful place to unplug and reflect and relax. Highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Red Earth Palace Retreat. The home is immaculate. We were able to cook a delicious dinner as the kitchen is set up with everything you need to prepare any type of meal. The owners are attentive - they checked in on upon arrival. They also answered any questions that came up during our stay. I will definitely stay there again.

We loved our stay at The Red Earth Palace. It is a really cool house sited in a beautiful and somewhat remote area near Taos. It is along the Rio Grande where you can hike down to the hot springs. We had a very relaxing and peaceful weekend. The house itself is lovely and very clean. The kitchen is very well setup with all the tools you could possibly ask for. The house is the most unique home i have visited. It is an ecletic collection of old west barn doors to adobe walls and other cultures sprinkled in. The 15 acres allow for views of the mountains, wild life and fresh air. Theres even a trail at the end of tge driveway to Manby hot springs.The house is located on a gravel road. While there are multiple ways to get there, i advise you only use the entrance directions provided by the host....its near the municipal airport. (We never saw a plane). If you choose to enter via another route be prepared for serious off roading....We enjoyed our stay, it allowed for us to relax and unwind.

This home is stunning! The red earth walls are warm and inviting and it's clear that the home is custom in every way. The french doors from each bedroom open up to beautiful views and comfy seating areas. We loved our stay so much, we extended it for an extra night. Katherin was a very gracious host and we had a wonderful stay! 10/10

This house was beautiful with a wonderful location. It is right next to the Rio Grande Gorge with a short hike to get down to the river and hot springs. It was just what my husband and I were looking for for our 10 year anniversary trip. The house itself is beautiful with everything you need. There are a few quirks about the house such as the counter tops all being super tall - not ideal for short people, and the bathtub being huge and uncomfortable - but overall a great place. Check in and out was easy and straight forward and communication with the host was great.

Communication with the owners was wonderful. They responded promptly and with the details we asked about. The house is absolutely beautiful and the property has stunning views from the deck/hot tub area (glorious to star-gaze from as well).We hiked directly from the property to Manby Hot Springs and the Rio Grande River.The counters/sinks are very tall (I am not very tall, worked okay for my spouse and son who are 6 ft.) If you are taking younger/shorter kids grab a step-stool if you have one.We would 100% stay here again and again.

Host was great about communication and no issues at all with check-in or string the stay. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a somewhat remote location, that offers a ton of peace and quiet. Great hiking nearby and Toas is only a 20-25 minute drive from the property.

This place is perfect for a secluded place to get away for a while. Don't do what we did and put the address in if you're using GPS just put in the Taos airport and follow the host's directions from there. We had an amazing time hiking down the gorge, watching shooting stars from the hot tub at night, and cooking meals together in the kitchen. We have some hilarious pictures of our short friend standing on a stool to cook on the high counters.

An incredible, beautiful house and property! I particularly loved reading about how the house was built. The property speaks for itself: gorgeous, remote, and breathtaking. We spent most of our time on the porch in the wonderful hot tub or lounging on the comfortable chairs taking in the views. The stargazing was incredible!! Hope to visit again soon!

We had a great time at this unique and beautiful home! The home had everything we could need. We loved watching the sunsets and sunrises from the deck, gazing at the stars from the hot tub and taking a quick trip down to the hot springs - I couldn’t recommend staying here enough! The host was extremely communicative and made sure we felt right at home!

We booked a week around Labor Day to escape the Texas heat. The setup was great for us and our 1 small dog. The host was very responsive and helpful with any questions. We enjoyed exploring Taos and a couple of rounds of golf along with needed relaxation!

My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary here. It was absolutely magical. The house is gorgeous, and the secluded location was perfect for unplugging from our hectic lives for a week but close enough to Taos, the mountains and other destinations for day trips. Our hosts couldn't have been more gracious or helpful. On one blustry day, we lost power for a short while. Katherin responded within seconds of getting our message and had an update for us within minutes. We really could not have asked for more. We hope to return one day.

Beautiful property, well designed and executed home, wonderful hiking trails from your backdoor. It was a wonderful experience in all aspects, great communciation and check-in process and a fantastic location! Away from it all, but we easy access to Taos and all the amazing surrounding areas. Highly recommend!

Communication with the owners was wonderful. They responded promptly and with the details we asked about. The house is absolutely beautiful and the property has stunning views from the deck/hot tub area (glorious to star-gaze from as well).We hiked directly from the property to Manby Hot Springs and the Rio Grande River.The counters/sinks are very tall (I am not very tall, worked okay for my spouse and son who are 6 ft.) If you are taking younger/shorter kids grab a step-stool if you have one.We would 100% stay here again and again.

Wonderful home and property! Very peaceful and relaxing! Home had all of the amenities that we needed. Large space that was perfect for 2 adults, but definitely plenty of room for 4 adults. Host was great about communication and no issues at all with check-in or string the stay. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a somewhat remote location, that offers a ton of peace and quiet. Great hiking nearby and Toas is only a 20-25 minute drive from the property.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Red Earth Palace Retreat. The home is immaculate. We were able to cook a delicious dinner as the kitchen is set up with everything you need to prepare any type of meal. The owners are attentive - they checked in on upon arrival. They also answered any questions that came up during our stay. I will definitely stay there again.

The pictures for the house do not do it justice. We stayed a week for our 20th anniversary and it was perfect. You feel very isolated at the house but are less than 20 minute drive to specialty grocery store and fine dining. The hike to the hot springs and the stars from the hot tub at night were our favorite thing about our trip. We will definitely be back. The house is the most unique home i have visited. It is an ecletic collection of old west barn doors to adobe walls and other cultures sprinkled in. The 15 acres allow for views of the mountains, wild life and fresh air. Theres even a trail at the end of tge driveway to Manby hot springs.The house is located on a gravel road. While there are multiple ways to get there, i advise you only use the entrance directions provided by the host....its near the municipal airport. (We never saw a plane). Thank you so much for sharing your home with us! It is such a unique property with amazing views. For us, it is a perfect balance of privacy and serenity, but close to Taos or on the way to Abiquiu and Ghost Ranch. This was our second stay - with hopefully more to come in the future! Thanks again!

Top of the list of VRBO properties where I have stayed . A very special place. We stayed 3 nights and did not leave property . It is situated between historic Manby Hot Springs (good short hike ! right from property) with views of the Dobson House (! this was a surprise). We felt we were in the middle of nowhere yet completely safe and secure. The location is residential with neighbors few and far between. Good Wi-fi. The hot tub was VERY clean and already hot when we got there, worked perfectly, easily controlled and perfectly situated. The beds comfortable and kitchen well-stocked . Outdoor spaces were divine and each patio seemed to have its own bird friends/species. The road in was 4x4 worthy ! A little intimidating if we would have needed to go back and forth to town. It is a slow but doable 4 miles of graded dirt but honestly once we were there with (recommend) carry groceries in, we felt zero need to leave. A fantastic stay and I cannot thank you enough Katherin for sharing your place. It was just what the doctor ordered and then some ! Beautiful, peaceful and memorable. (*We found ourselves attached to whomever the oversized height kitchen and bathrooms were designed for. I could only view the top of my head in mirrors and had no small concern that the gas stove would light my hair on fire . I used a stool (provided !). We are fans dear sir or madam that you have in your possession a house made just for you ! Kudos and thanks for sharing !) Superb

We loved our stay at this unique home on the Rio Grande. It was wonderfully quiet with the best star gazing of any place we’ve been. We hiked the trails on the property, watched stars from the hot tub, and watched the hot air balloons on their tours of the river each morning from the patio. Although it is rural, it’s close enough to Taos to go in for lunch and shopping, an easy drive to the ski valley and the rafting trips. We would definitely stay again.

Took advantage of the hiking trails down to the hot springs where we have ultimate privacy on a crisp fall morning. House had everything we needed for our stay. If you like going to the end of the road, this place is for you. Its location is incredibly serene and beautiful, perched just a few hundred yards from the edge of the Rio Grande gorge. The view alone could keep you captivated for many hours, but walk out the door and down into the gorge and you are soaking in hot springs and looking for bighorn sheep. The house itself was very user friendly and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. We appreciated that the kitchen was well appointed with new appliances. We enjoyed the wood stove during a November snow storm. The hosts were responsive, although we had all of the information we needed upfront and the property is very straightforward to access and navigate. Overall, this is wonderful place to unplug and reflect and relax. Highly recommend.

Full night sky with the Milky Way visible; magnificent sunsets from the hot tub, and the beautiful architecture of the home itself, was a once in a lifetime experience.And…. Absolutely take the directions provided by the owner and not the GPS! My partner may have thought he could do it his way, which turned out ok!

The property is fantastic, the views are wonderful, and the host is beyond amazing. We had some car trouble the last night of our stay and the host helped coordinate with some local help to get us back on the road the next morning. Highly recommend!
