Comfort Suites Sanford

The lobby air conditioning was out at the Sanford, NC location having to eat breakfast in a sauna type setting. An employee informed me it had been tnat way for 5 years! We were called and awakened by 4 calls. The worst being at 430am Saturday morning. On Friday I had just stepped out of the shower and your maid walks in with fresh towels, without knocking and I was standing there in my birthday suit! The lock would not engage so I couldn't prevent her entry! My sister told her I was in there, but she did not understand and walked in on me anyway! I was harrassed the first 2 nights with front desk phone calls for banging noises that were NOT made in my room! If they were, people on both sides of me would have complained as well but they didn't. I believe the guests below me were working them for a free room or something! The most egregious offense to us was being awakened at 430am Saturday and being caught nude by the maid Friday morning! I nor any of my family or anyone I can influence will consider staying here ever again! My nephew is a Choice member and he will no longer use your hotels! Good luck to you! I always used Comfort inn and Suites in the past but never again. I wish your future guests more sleep at night than I was alloted to have over a harrassing lie! I will much rather stay at a roach motel than use any of your Choice Hotel locations again! We will do our homework to insure our money goes to a hotel with no ties to the Choice Hotels brand!!

Parts of the flooring in the common area are cracked and broken.

There was lots of trash around the parking area, inside the building was average it looked like they was working on some things. The pool was not working which was disappointing because my daughter was looking forward to enjoying it and the exercise area which wasn’t very clean and smelled like soured towels. The room and bedding was clean with the exception of finding some kind of pill on the floor under the corner of my bed that I took down to the front desk after looking up and finding it was some kind of opioid! The door key stopped working on the second day there and the lady at the front desk was super nice making different key cards that still didn’t work so she let us in manually and said she told maintenance when he came in, when I came back to my room to pick my daughter up it still wasn’t fixed so my daughter went to the front desk and the lady was pretty rude to her because my daughter told her it wasn’t a key issue it was the door and she didn’t want to move her self from the front desk and let her in so I had to call while on my way back to class ( that was why I was in that area) the same lady was extremely rude to me also and even slammed the phone down and hung up on me. They did at that point go manually let her in the room and with in 5-10 minutes maintenance came and changed the battery in the door and all worked well until the last night we where there and the door lock did it again but thankfully one of us was in the room and we was leaving early.

Hotel was in the middle of a remodel and our room was half way done it seems. Bathroom was atrocious with shower hanger dangling. Pool was also being remodeled and we chose this place due to indoor pool.

Curtains were ripped off window, no cups in the entire hotel, mud on room floor, no coat hangers, pool was unfit and closed, Toilet would not flush and the Choice complaint line did NOTHING! DO NOT BOOK

Booked this place to be closer to family because we usually stay out of Sanford and this place was run down and BAD! Pool is closed indefinitely and Orbitz site doesn’t tell you that, they don’t have shampoo but have soap and conditioner ( manager said it was on backoder and purchased us a small bottle), the toilet valve made a screaming noise when you flushed it, and the hair dryer was broken. The night staff were very apologetic but the day staff just wanted to play with their phones and the breakfast was ok. Will not stay there ever again.

The indoor pool that they have listed is not operational. According to one of their staff has been out of service for years. We specifically booked this one for the indoor pool for entertainment for our kiddos in October. The beds were very uncomfortable. High school football field right behind the property. Friday night football game was loud and clear while the kids were trying to go to bed.

The staff was super friendly BUT the only reason we booked with this hotel is because they had an indoor pool. it was completely out of order. The hotel was dated and in need of repair. There was a bug fogger on the coffee table when we came in…not a good look. i don’t like giving bad reviews but this really wasn’t good.

This place is always clean and offers well equipped rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful. This is the first place that I check, when I will be in the area.

Me and family were not able to stay at the hotel due the room being dirty and additional rooms were not available. There were crumbs in the sheets and you can tell they weren’t changed in a while. There was also a dead cricket and water bug or roach shell on the carpet.

This is the cleanest motel I have found in the area with a somewhat reasonable price. With that said, they are getting close to pricing themselves out of my range.

We stayed at this hotel during the UNC graduation weekend. We received 2 rooms on the entrance floor. Both rooms were moldy and smelly. You can hardly breathe. Won’t stay there again.

The service from the start was terrible! Hotel is advertised with a working pool, upon arrival it was shut down. Not only was the pool shut down but in my opinion the hotel should be also. Black mold in the shower, roaches in the room, dirty sheets, dirty environment, terrible customer service, and the list goes on! Went on this trip with my family anticipating having a good time and it was absolutely ruined. When asked about a refund due to conditions my request was denied and said if I had an issue I could contact Hotels.com but if you ever got on their phone line you would know that went absolutely nowhere! I 100% do not recommend staying here. 0/10.

The staff was extremely nice. My room was clean, and everything was clean. Comfortable bed and I had two great nights’ sleep.

The staff was extremely nice. My room was so clean. My grandson enjoyed his stay. He was quite happy. The bed was very comfortable. I had two great nights’ sleep! Definitely recommend and will definitely return!

The staff was helpful and kind. The breakfast has a variety that met our needs. Parking was safe and convenient. The room was fine and the beds comfortable but unfortunately, BED BUGS freaked us out and made for an overall anxious stay. We lost most of our first night's sleep as we problem solved the situation. We know bed bugs can be an issue anywhere and we ALWAYS check our bed and headboard. This was our first encounter in over 50 years of travel. We saw some concerning stain on one bed corner (underneath a an enclosed mattress cover) but decided to stay in that room anyway. Just a bit later, we found a tiny bug on top of my pillow and killed it and tossed it. They offered to move rooms and we did. But before we did, my husband found another bug on that same bed and we videoed that one and showed it to staff. The manager responded the next morning with a refund for our first night. But boy, we feel like we dodged a bullet. We would never want to bring bed bugs home. They are near impossible to get rid of.

We reserved two rooms because we were in town for a wedding. After driving 9 1/2 hours, we arrived at 11pm. We were greeted by the lady at the front desk. She was wonderful! We made our way up to our rooms. The one room was fine. My room, however…..my children and I walked into our room and was hit by an enormous smell of weed. We exited and went down to the lobby and asked for another room. The lady was very sweet and moved us across the hall. We went into our room and noticed two “water bugs” crawling on the ground. We call them cockroaches in Ohio…North Carolina call them water bugs? Anyway, I killed them, made sure all of our things were off of the ground and went to bed. I was exhausted and the only other option was sleeping I. The car. We didn’t notice any other bugs on the second day. We checked out and I informed the front desk of the bug situation to which she answered she would have someone take care of it immediately. They didn’t offer a refund or anything. At that point we were just ready to get home.

The Comfort Inn was good to us. They could use some new mattresses though. The mattresses are very basic like the ones you’d buy for $89 at a random big lots on the side of the road. Breakfast was great, had something for the whole family.

Beds were uncomfortable. Rooms were clean but old and tired. Will nit be staying here again.

It was OK, it worked for a few days. The staff was nice and the room was big. Standard breakfast fare. It was clean but certainly worn and needed updates in both the room and the general areas.

Room was spacious but the pull out couch was broken, the carpet in the room was dirty, and the pool was conveniently closed however advertised in the booking.

Very nice room with respect to layout and cleanliness, however the matress was in dire need of being retired. The breakfast is on the minus side of a standard continental breakfast. They have juice and coffee but don't have soda for the non-coffee drinkers, which would be an inexpensive upgrade. Also absent are hard boiled eggs, but they did have sausage, scrambled eggs, pre-packaged pastries, yogurt and some fruit. I view the Drury Inn as the gold standard for breakfast (not one anywhere close to Sanford), with the Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express as having a standard continental breakfast. Bottom line: a very good value for a few day stay. If a good matress is critical to you consider other the Holiday Inn or Hampton across the street. We've stayed at both years ago and found their mattresses to to be very good. Granted you'll pay a premium for those properties, so it depends on your priorities. For the cost conscious/budget constrained traveler, this Comfort Inn is a very good choice. We'll likely stay here again for short stays or late arrivals.

Had a problem with check in. Clerk did not know how to handle reservation through Expedia. Price I paid was excess for this hotel.

We also had friends check in and were given the key to a room that was totally trashed but had been checked off as cleaned. The highlights were the breakfasts and the housekeeping staff.

I have never slept in a more comfortable bed while traveling! And ALL the staff were so nice and friendly! Thank you!

When I left my iPad in the room, the housekeeper turned it in and they called me, what great service!

The hotel front desk staff was very friendly and nice. Made me feel comfortable. The room was nice and clean and roomy. The only concern was the air conditioner. When I turned it on, it made a terrible loud noise. So I turned on the fan and it was better. This probably needs to be checked out... Room 206 .

Our stay was good. The first night was a little noisy after 11:00Pm, it soon quieted down so we could sleep. The room was very refreshing and clean. The front staff and others helper were friendly and professional. The doors closing could be a little softer every time door close it would shake the floor. Not sure what can be done about that but the stay was nice.

Clean, quiet hotel in the middle of Sanford. Easy access and lots of parking

It was clean and convenient to where we would be going. Plenty of eating establishment s close by. Staff was very polite and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again. The only negative thing I could say was the carpet needs replaced as you enter the room but in no way made the stay uncomfortable.

Very easy to find and all of local restaurants are near by room was stocked with towels and toiletries and and I was staying for the weekend for graduation so I requested not to clean room until checkout love staying at Comfort Suites 😁

It was close to where I was golfing the next day

My room was nice and very cozy. The location was perfect as it was surrounded by soo many places to eat. My only issue is that theres no handle bars or slip resistant strips in the tub. I almost fell a few times in the shower but thankfully caught myself. I highly suggest making this improvement before someone gets seriously hurt. Other than that, I'd stay there again.

Stayed here while attending a funeral. Dining and miscellaneous shopping very convenient. Found a downtown area with great bbq and shops just 3 miles away. Will stay again.

Our stay was great! great Customer Service. Great location, room was great! loved the room and Decor. Breastfast was great, and the lady that did the Breastfast!

Not enough lights in the room. No makeup mirror. Did not have a shower curtain - had to ask for one. No 24 hour coffee in the lobby. No tv in the breakfast section. Staff was very friendly.

Short staff 2nd day for breakfast. Ran out of food, juice, ... eventually replenished. 1st morning - shower head in room not functioning ... was fixed by 2nd day but had to go to work without a shower day one.
