Bathrooms could use updates. New shower Curtain liners definitely needed. Overall great place to stay. Huge property a lot to see inside hotel building. Has own foot court and GM gas plenty of cars on display.

I was attending a convention at the Marriott. Valet parking was challenging, so I chose a nearby parking garage instead. Upon checkout, I wanted my luggage held at the bell desk. Neither a member of the staff nor I could find a member of the bell staff, so I had to keep my luggage with me throughout the day. The bathroom had some plumbing maintenance issues that I am sure were fixed quickly, as they were not complicated.

The room itself was excellent. However, It was like Walmart to check in with maybe 10 check-in desks and only two reception people working Friday in the afternoon. The hotel is very difficult to navigate if you’re trying to get out to the street or to find coffee. The Illy coffee bar was closed the Friday, Saturday and Sunday we were there. But it was very interesting that the hotel was part of the GM renaissance center. And the proximity to the river was nice. Our room had an excellent view of the river and the city.

Overall the view was amazing. However the a/c didn’t work which made me leave first thing in the morning. Then the bathroom it was an eyelash on the bathroom sink. The ceiling was coming down a little too.

Room was dusty especially around the windows. There was not any bath towels in the room. The towel holder by the sink kept falling off. The shower had black mold. When I got in the room the shower hand held .

The room was dirty. There was a dirty q-tip and public hair on the floor in the bathroom, toothpaste on the counter under the glasses, and mold on the ceiling. I have a food allergy, it took 3 tries to cook my food allergen free.

Every time we stayed there, the bathrooms were dirty. Somebody had spit on the curtain shower curtain. I mean it wasn’t wiped down real good and the bed was not freshly made and it smelled like smoking.

For the price, you are only getting the name and location. The rooms are very small including the bathroom. You have to pay for everything extra, parking obviously but also 15 bucks for WiFi. When we leave a hotel, we take the pillows out of the cases and the sheets off the bed to help staff, the pillows were stained yellow and their were yellow stains on both mattress cover. I expected a lot more from this hotel.

Great location to downtown. Average amenities, only one hotel restaurant and bar. No coffee maker in the room, so have to go 20 floors down to get a coffee. Room was comfortable and clean with impressive views of the river and skyline.

The beds were uncomfortable, the room was not properly cleaned (there was a box of diapers on the window sill behind the curtains; stains on the bedding), there was excessive noise from the street, elevators, and other rooms. This is a wonderful hotel with incredible views. It is clean, the bed is comfortable, and it is an easy walk to the river and downtown. Our only criticism is that they charge $14.95 per day for Wi-fi which is exhorbitant considering room costs are over $200 per night. Wi-fi should be free. We were also given a room with a non/flushing toilet; however, they fixed it right away. We were also disappointed that the Starbucks on the third floor was closed and there was nowhere to get a latte in the hotel. These things are minor (except for the Wi-fi). All in all, it was a relaxing and wonderful stay.

My room had an ironing board bit no iron, even after requesting several times. The hotel was huge, with a view of the water. There was a festival, rock i believe next door. Not good.

Our hotel room (east wing) was clean and we had a great view of the city. Our biggest concern was the check-in process where it took close to 25 minutes. They appeared understaffed although our check-in person was kind and helpful. People mover access was very convenient along with parkikg right across the street. Beds were comfortable and plenty of towels in bathroom.

Check in process was horrible, on itinerary it stated check in time was 3 pm, then when I got to property the time changed to 4 pm then wasn’t given a room until 5 pm. Spent the whole day waiting to check in.

We were supposed to check in at 4 but didn’t check in until 6:30. We were told at 3:30 when we were checking in that we would receive a call when our room was ready. We were very patient because we knew there was an event. But at 6 we were told by other guests to just go in the line and you’ll get a key. They had been waiting longer than us for a call and just went in line. My husband got in line and they were right we got a key and were able to check in a 6:30 (not because of your system). I was also charged on my credit card when I used Avion points to book. I called Marriot for support and they were not helpful with my double charge.

We were supposed to check in at 4 but didn’t check in until 6:30. We were told at 3:30 when we were checking in that we would receive a call when our room was ready. I have stayed here several times. However, There was a long like at check-in and only ONE person working the desk. A large hotel on a Friday evening with ONE desk worker??? There were 12 cubicles for desk workers. all empty but one. I have never ordered room service in previous stays here But I did this time . A HUGE mistake. Call down, they said it would be up in 20 min. After an 90 min, I called down to cancel as it was getting late. They said they will take the charge off my card and cancel. They did not. As the charge was from one of the cafe's within the hotel, it was separate from the Hotel bill. I went to bed and over two hours after my original order, they came knocking at 1AM. It was like a 'takeout guy" and I tole him I cancelled it over an hour ago, he said there will be no charge. But there was. Horrible experience!!!

Beautiful hotel! So much to do within walking distance and we had an overlook over the river. That was absolutely beautiful! Would definitely stay there again.

Great location to downtown. Average amenities, only one hotel restaurant and bar. No coffee maker in the room, so have to go 20 floors down to get a coffee. Room was comfortable and clean with impressive views of the river and skyline.

Walking distance to Riverwalk and Greektown. Make sure to check out the Mariner's Church close by if you are a Gordon Lightfoot fan. Loved the GM cars on display in the central atrium. Valet parking was very accessible and professionally ran. Check in was easy, although a little confusion with payments already applied through Expedia. Room lacked amenities (coffee) but had a coffee pot. Room was adequate but outdated. Lack of free coffee in lounge for guests. Rooms were very quiet. Didn't see any other quests on our floor, or cleaning services while there, but the rooms were clean. AC worked great in room.

We love this hotel. It is in the heart of Detroit, so most everything is walkable, plus it is on the Detroit River. The rooms are always clean and the staff usually let us check in early, which is a massive benefit when flying in from another state. There are good dining options + I enjoy seeing the GM vehicles on the main floor.

Pros: Nice view of downtown Detroit. Restaurants and other attractions inside building. Cons: Room service is basically nonexistent. Was told 12-18 minutes and that we had to come downstairs to get it. When I got downstairs, nothing was ready. Waited another 30 minutes and half of the order came out, the other half was missing. Waited another 20 minutes for order to be completed. It ended up being comped, but was a gigantic inconvenience for myself and my group.

The room itself was excellent. However, It was like Walmart to check in with maybe 10 check-in desks and only two reception people working Friday in the afternoon. The hotel is very difficult to navigate if you’re trying to get out to the street or to find coffee. The Illy coffee bar was closed the Friday, Saturday and Sunday we were there. But it was very interesting that the hotel was part of the GM renaissance center. And the proximity to the river was nice. Our room had an excellent view of the river and the city.

The room was dirty. There was a dirty q-tip and public hair on the floor in the bathroom, toothpaste on the counter under the glasses, and mold on the ceiling. I have a food allergy, it took 3 tries to cook my food allergen free.

The hotel is a three star at best. The amenities inside of the room need upgrading. It is a low and Marriott. For the price he paid is incredibly overcharged. The bathroom countertop was falling apart and other areas of the rumour and disrepair as well as not having coffee restocked or even available from our first night. And missing soap in the bathroom. At almost $700 a night you would expect more.
