The Beverly Laurel Hotel at West Hollywood

The rooms were really cute and retro looking. Very quiet. It was hard to find because it is a small building on a busy street. Parking is Valet only.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here at the Beverly Laurel. For the price I paid, the vibes were great. The pool was cute with great tunes. The rooms were clean. The location was central to wherever I needed to go, it's all a 20 minute drive somewhere. There's a great diner in the lobby. They let me stay till Noon and now I'm working on my laptop by the pool before my flight. I appreciated the low price I paid, compared to other hotels that charge double but are not better. It gives motel vibes, but it's not. It's just cool, and was clean. Everything was great to me. Dig this place, i'll be back.

Great location, but room needs help. Rug is torn from one end to the other, and basically workout and dirty. Also the added resort hotel fee is ridiculous. $35 for what? And another $35 for valet parking?

We stayed in the suite and couldn’t have been happier. Large bathroom with 2 sinks! Comfy circular platform mattress! With the blinds open the room glowed with the green neon, loved that!! Drapes closed easily and completely blackened the room for sleeping. The staff is always incredibly nice and you can’t beat complimentary valet parking. We keep coming back!!

Good price for the area, basic rooms and amenities. Valet parking is fast and convenient. Staff is supper friendly.

We liked the pool and the proximity to the Grove and Farmers Market. There is an eclectic restaurant called Swingers attached to it that had good comfort food. The only 2 things we didn't like is we had to use valet parking so we lacked the freedom to go to and from our car - we had to have someone get the car for us whenever we needed it. Also the elevator was out of service and our room was on the 3rd floor so we had to drag our luggage there., but they did offer to help.

Pros: Good value for the price, good location, clean spacious rooms, nice pool area, diner next door is great Cons: you have to pay for the “resort” fee even if you don’t use any of the amenities (pool, parking, etc), you have to pay for valet service if you want to park your car on the premises, parking is not secure (no gate, no overnight security), rooms are not soundproof, elevator is broken

Everyone who worked at the front desk had great hospitality and we’re very helpful. The valet guys were quick and friendly. I loved the feel of this hotel, it is family owned, and you can tell that it is loved even though it is a decades tradition. Beautiful pool. And it was heated.

Property was clean and staff were friendly. FYI: There is construction of a building accross the street and the elevator is still out of service.

On the past I liked this hotel, NOT anymore! Elevator down for “upgrade” the whole stay. Had to carry luggage up 3 flights. It was down last Christmas too. In the past could park your car yourself. Now must use the valet service to get safe parking. And they charge for the service even if you don’t use it.

It was a very pleasant stay and we had a good time. The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. It was easy to get to places and transportation was easily accessible. I recommend this hotel for a great trip.

Towels definitely need replaced they are not white anymore they look dirty and the sheets. Housekeeping must have not vacuumed before us crumbs all over the floor and also the carpet looks gross. We didn't dare walk on it without shoes or slip ons we were supposed to stay for 5 days got there Sunday left Tuesday to go stay at a better hotel and also gave my deposit on room for damage charges and I know we didn't damage anything we did not get all our money back People please don't get trapped by there pictures on internet or wherever u see them

Grove shopping adjacent, easy neighborhood to get around from, nice cafe downstairs, first-come, first-serve safe covered parking, cute theme. Clean sheets crisp sheet and towels, friendly staff, everything you'd expect from a 3-star spot. Room sofa was in desperate need of upholstery cleaning, filthy is putting it delicately. Main room large window's outter pane (double pane window) was completely shattered by a bullet-sized hole yet; unsettling. Ants had taken hold of the bathroom. Phone rang twice in the evening with automated voice courtesy wake up call, which was never requested. TV turned on during middle of night twice despite remotes remaining in separate sitting area. Odd...

Overall the aesthetic of the hotel was fun and funky. My room had a very dirty carpet. Walking around barefoot left my feet covered in dirt. It even seeped through my socks.

I'm going to tell you what management won't. Do not book the suite. The bathroom door is missing and they don't tell you that. Not even when you check in. There's also a serious issue with cleanliness. I noticed long black hairs all over the bathroom floor soon as I got in my room. The toilet was also clearly not thoroughly clean... Because of this, I scheduled the room to be cleaned (24hrs in advance because that is their policy if you want the room cleaned during your stay). When I came back after the room had been "freshly cleaned" nothing had changed but the bed had been made. The same hairs, the same uncleanly state. It made no sense. When I went down to the front desk to speak about all of this, the rude concierge was unapologetic for the situation. I asked to speak to the manager and he said the manager was on vacation for the week and no one was covering for him. Don't waste your money.

My husband and I stayed one night at the Beverly Laurel for a doctor appointment nearby. We arrived late and left early so we didn't utilize any amenities except for valet parking. The valet was great upon arrival, very polite and friendly, no issues there. Check-in was great, Melissa was very friendly and helpful with getting to our room. The hotel itself is super cute and retro, which we loved! Once inside the room we found cute decor, but the carpets were badly stained and old and it just made you feel dirty all over. We would not have stayed had it been more than one night and had we arrived sooner we would have asked to change rooms. It was that bad. The tap water when brushing teeth, washing face smelled of rotten eggs, they need a water purifier or something. We let the front desk know when we left about the issues. Valet is open limited hours so we had to go downstairs and search for our car as it was not inside the small parking garage. Car was fine, but definitely not secure as you would assume with valet parking. It was out in the open for anyone to break into (not the best area).

Not recommended. Old towels, no lampshade, not changing the beddings, old washroom need renovations

We traveled from South Dakota to LA for a quick birthday trip. We had never been there before. The staff was so helpful and friendly, especially the young man from Turkey! The rooms were impeccable. I am very particular about cleanliness and this exceeded my expectations. We will stay here again.

Fun and quaint vibe. Mid-century modern motif. Clean pool. Was happy with room size and layout. However my AC did not work. I had two units, and neither functioned. But, that was only a minor inconvenience.

The elevator is not working. We were on 2nd floor with a small kid. The room was spacious but you can hear people talking in the room next door and people walking on the corridors.

I really like this hotel. It’s charming. Successfully retro without trying too hard. Attached diner is very convenient with great hours. Staff is incredibly accommodating. Room is spacious and bed is comfortable. I had two issue this stay: children SCREAMING endlessly at the pool and I was placed close to a housekeeping hub which was SO unnecessarily loud. I would stay again in a season when the pool would be less utilized and request a room far from the housekeeping hub.

I really would like to be able to rate this location higher, but it just doesn’t quite cut it. The hotel lobby is nice for what is probably a 1960’s vintage building. We stayed in room 307 which is on the fourth floor. While our room wasn’t unattractive, it was clear that any upgrades had been done quite a long time ago. The room needed new carpeting and the AC unit was very old. There were no dresser drawers and no luggage holder in the room. The only place to store clothing was in a closet in the bathroom. The pod coffee maker was dirty. I asked for a replacement and didn’t get one. The place needs a major remodeling. The only major renovation I saw was to the elevator control system. At least that’s good! Note: There is only valet parking in the underground lot under the hotel. You must pull up on Beverly Boulevard at the front of the motor hotel and the valet will take your car from there. Parking is $38.50 a day with in and out privileges. If you need anything out of your car, you can go down into the parking area after getting your keys from the valet. Also, there is a $20 a day ‘fee’ which I would hesitate to call a resort fee like a lot of the hotels like to refer to them. Certainly can’t be a resort fee here because this is not in any way shape or form a resort. It is a motor hotel as it says on its sign. seems like the $20 a day extra fee is just another way of getting bookings on Expedia at a lower price while then charging you more once you get to their hotel.

I gave a 3 overall because the A/C unit sounds like an alien space ship and is really loud. And the walls are thin. I could hear my neighbors conversation clear as day while I was trying to sleep at 12:00am at night. But everything else was good.

Thin walls. you can hear everybody walking around and talking ..still.. Classic old Hollywood hotel. Cute style and easy access to the city.

This property is in a great location in West Hollywood. It’s one of the most affordable hotels in the area. The rooms are a bit down at the heel but clean. Internet connectivity is slow and does not support remote working. The pool area is an oasis.

Super kitschy hotel. Large room and door down a hallway so relatively quiet although we did stay on a Wednesday night. Neon lights outside room were peeking thru the curtains over night. Tub only big enough for one person (unless you’re really tiny) and it didn’t drain easily. We could hear walking upstairs. Fun experience though.

Back to the Beverly Lauren Hotel for my third time. This hotel is perfectly located for restaurants and Hollywood and walkable to The Grove and Farmers market. Staff are friendly, efficient and valet parking is included in the resort fee that you pay at the hotel. Rooms are simple but very functional and you have the added bonus of the fabulous 'Swingers Diner' right next to the hotel.

I'm a little disappointed in this hotel. It's a great location, has a very cute 50's art deco theme, but my stay wasn't the best. I had a pre-paid for my hotel and upon check in, the front desk was supposed to charge only for the property tax fee but instead charged me again for the full stay. I didn't know this until checking my bank account the next day and almost $400 is missing. He didn't even tell me he was charging this or else I would've caught his mistake in the moment. This really screwed me over while on vacation. I received my refund a few days later, but I'm still just a little shocked that they wouldn't even confirm what they are charging for when it's such a large amount. Outside of that mistake, it was EXTREMELY loud and you could hear literally everything as if the walls weren't even there. I would not recommend this place or stay again.

We spent six night at this hotel. Pros: Good, walkable location with access to many restaurants and shops and easy walk to busses. Reasonably priced Comfortable bed Relatively quiet air conditioner Easy off street parking. Cons: Except for check-in, staff pays no attention to their guests. When a group of travelers was making incredible noise at 11:00 pm with kids running all over the place and screaming, we asked if there were no quiet hours to be enforced. The front clerk advised us that the hotel could do nothing about guests’ behavior and the only option he suggested was to speak to the noisy crowd ourselves or to call the police. Remarkably strange! The elevator was out of service the entire time although staff was using it. Guests had to carry their bags up the stairs. No room cleaning unless requested the night before. We searched for the towel cart ourselves to get clean towels after three days. Bathroom lighting is dismal. Bathroom window cannot be latched shut which is a safety risk. Refrigerator, safe and clothes hanging space are all located inside the bathroom.

They didn’t communicate to me what I needed to bring with me at the time of checking in after I called the hotel three times for a confirmation. As a courtesy, I wasn’t reminded by the receptionist at the front desk to bring the required documents such as a physical credit card. I have a credit card, but it’s digital., but they didn’t accept it. They refused to give me my room regardless of me already paying for it at the time I made the reservation (a week ago). I had to borrow the debit card that belonged to my seventeen year old son. I arrived to the hotel exhausted after driving on the freeway for eight hours.

The staff and service were excellent! Will definitely be looking to stay there next time we visit LA.

The staff was friendly and helpful, and parking was a huge plus. The attached Swingers Diner makes mornings easy — great coffee, good food, and a laid-back local crowd. Overall, it’s the perfect mix of vintage charm and modern convenience. I’d absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish, affordable LA stay.

Fantastic motel that’s been recently renovated. So fun and novel to stay in. Room was very clean and comfortable. Located close to The Grove & Erwhon. As noted by other residents there is ongoing construction across the road which is noisey in the morning but otherwise not an issue.

I like the location of the hotel as it is very central - near Melrose shopping, West Hollywood, Sunset strip. It is LA so it still takes forever to get anywhere. The staff is friendly. The rooms have a nice mid-century vibe. The carpets could use a good cleaning or replacement. Having Swingers downstairs is a convenience as is the coffee shop Harvey's across the street which is open before 8am. The price is good for Los Angeles.

We should have been alerted that construction was planned to take place directly outside our room starting at 8:30am. If we knew this we would have asked for a different room.

This retro hotel is a little gem. Our room was very clean as was our bathroom. We had appointments at Cedars-Sinai hospital and the location is just 8/10 of a mile away. Apparently there is self-parking in the back so drive around to the side-street and pull in. We didn't know about this and paid the $35 fee which included valet parking and was VERY convenient. The restaurant "Swingers" next door is DELICIOUS!!! The menu is diverse and amazing and very reasonable.

I loved the retro hotel! Our room was the suite and it was very cool! The neighborhood is a little sketchy, I wasn't comfortable walking around after dark. The diner downstairs was great and they served wine and beer products.

This place is so dang cute! We came down for an appointment at Cedars, and picked this hotel for the close proximity. It did not disappoint. It's been well maintained and was clean throughout the grounds. There's a nice diner attached, keeping with the "retro" theme. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, and the room was spacious and clean. I highly recommend, and would definitely stay again!

Great place to stay if you’re in the area. All the staff are top notch: friendly and professional. Attached restaurant, Swingers, offering great classic diner food, couldn’t be more convenient. Lots of other choices all around. Highly recommend!
