I liked making reservation way in advance. I didn’t like my request for a lower level room didn’t happen. No elevator so I had to climb to the second floor with my bad knee.

The hotel was very run down. Didn't notice at first because the lighting in the room was so poor. Took a long time for the water to become warm enough for a shower. Dips/holes in the flooring; tripping hazard. Floor was dirty. We were afraid to take off our shoes. No remote in the room. Had to go back to the desk for it. Attendant tried to be helpful. No attendant on duty most of the times I went to the desk. Not there when we checked out at 9am. (Back in 15m sign utilized constantly. The only employee I saw there.) Amenities: ice machine (clean & tasted fine), coffee in the am (did not drink), wi-fi (did not work & was too exhausted to go to the desk to ask about this). Appeared to have mold in the bathroom. I killed a cockroach about a 1/2 inch in length crawling across the desk under the TV.

Very Dirty and loud!!!! I spent the first night cleaning my room up!!!! I couldn't get my Money back so I had to stay! No housekeeper for 5 days and the dirt was built up every where in my room, holes in towels and blankets!!!!! This is a 1 night emergency stay place or rent by the hour type place. Definitely not for relaxing or business!

We checked in. Staff was friendly and courteous but then things went down hill. The room smelled like cigarette smoke and pot. There were cigarette burns in the bedspread and curtains. Could not get the new Roku tv to work because we did not have a Roku account. Then I pulled back the blanket and the sheets were dirty and had black dog hair all over them. There were no other rooms available.

This place can't help being what it is. The staff person there was great. The smell of cigarettes permeated this place to the point that even smoke-free rooms smelled which gave off the impression that it was unclean, whether true or not. We ended up leaving right away due to health concerns. Also, there was a mouse right outside doing doughnuts.

This room had the hardest mattresses, very small and lumpy pillows.the fridge smelled like rotten death when opened, the microwave was filthy and the toilet would not flush. The tv would not work. Would have been better at a rest stop in my car

Very dirty place. Ran down hotel for sure. For beinf next to multiple hotels you'd think you want to look better and not have prostitutes living there. Stayed one night. Paid for 2 nights. Declined to refund for the 2nd night of staying when i checked out before 11am. Definitely will not stay there again or at any motel 6 for that manner..

This place was so bad that we asked for a refund and traveled an hour to the next available place. I generally research the reviews before I book. We were on a long road trip and I made many reservations at once, but I must’ve forgotten to read the reviews on this place. The check in went smoothly. Very courteous young man. Our nonsmoking room was the problem. It reeked of smoke. Someone had taped over the smoke detector. The heater was in disrepair. The on/off button was worn through, meaning you had to stick your fingers into the bowels of the machinery to push the interior button. There was no light in the bathroom. The plastic covered thin mattresses sat upon a hard platform. I’ll bet they were painful. The dingy bedspread had holes from cigarette burns. Definitely recommend you steer clear of this place!

This has to be one of the most miserable stays to kick off the new year! I travel for work nearly every weekend. However this time my water heater went out so I opted for a hotel room finally. There was absolutely NO hot water at the hotel the entire time I was there. I informed both the front desk and another attendant however they were more concerned with checking my room to see if it was damaged or if they could give me back my deposit. I slept there only one night because when I woke up I had bites all over my body! Legs, arms and mid section were covered in bug bites. Of course there was still no hot water to shower. It was disgusting! I packed up and left as quickly as I could. I contacted Hotels.com about the problems with the hotel. The fact was I didn’t need a room I needed hot water. I lived a few minutes away. The hotel was contacted and had no response and took no responsibility! DO NOT STAY HERE! Poor Service! BUGS! BUGS! BUGS!

This place is a dump. I expected it not to be amazing, given the price, but I didn’t expect it to be this bad. The room reeked of cigarette smoke (smoke-free room), the floors were filthy, there was a large piece of the wall missing behind the TV, and the bed was very hard. At check-in I was required to put down $40 cash as a deposit on the room. The irony! There are people that live there, no biggie generally. Some of these particular people were outside on the deck playing loud music until well after midnight. It was easily heard in my room despite being several doors away. In good news, there were no bed bugs. There are poop

Seem to be remodeling which is nice. Love new furniture set up and bedspread! Bed was comfortable,it was quiet and it was cheap. Bathroom definitely still needs to be updated and need new pillows and wash cloths. Both my wash cloths were like gauze you could see through them. Overall I was very happy with my stay. It provided everything I needed for the week

I only stayed one night and you definitely get what you pay for. At first arrival the room looked pretty good. I then looked at the bathroom, the door looked like it was coming apart, the door handle looked like it was ready to fall off and extremely loose (I couldn't probably pulled it out of it's hole). It also appeared someone prior to me had punched a hole into the bathroom door. Water pressure was almost non existent. It was ok for a night as I just needed a place to sleep at as I was leaving early the next morning. I would not stay here for more than one night.

The room I was in had been recently updated with new paint, floors, and furniture so that made for a relaxing stay. The AC unit worked well but the smell of stale cigarettes was strongest with it on. I kept the door open when I first arrived for a long time to air it out , and then again later before I went to bed. Overall I will stay here again next time I take a trip to Cedar Rapids

Hotel was awful. The service was awful. The front desk person was not at the desk when I arrived. They had a sign saying be back in 30 minutes, so I waited and they were not the friendliest person when they arrived. The room that I was given was terrible out of bad smell floor had dips and holes in the tiles. The cleanliness of the hotel was subpar.

We checked in. Staff was friendly and courteous but then things went down hill. The room smelled like cigarette smoke and pot. There were cigarette burns in the bedspread and curtains. Could not get the new Roku tv to work because we did not have a Roku account. Then I pulled back the blanket and the sheets were dirty and had black dog hair all over them. There were no other rooms available.

It was exactly what I expected. I didn't need a fancy hotel, just a place to shower and sleep. The staff were terrific at check-in and checkout.

This is a hotel for people who are dealing drugs and/or cheating on their spouses. I had people smoking outside my door which caused smoke to billow into the room and kept me up at 240 in the morning. I tried calling the front desk, nobody picked up. I went to the front desk, nobody was there. Avoid.

Don't bother you check in and they leave you alone to do your day. Don't bother you unless something going on other then that they respect your privacy. Front desk miss rex very wonderful girl I would come back just for that wonderful lady! Good front desk help!

I never would have booked this had I done the reservations. It smells, it’s run down, needs some serious maintenance and was overall the second worst place I have ever stayed. The security lock on my door was broken off and not usable. Someone knocked on my door at 3 am as I was preparing to leave for the airport. When I arrived late at my room last night after working the parking lot smelled of pot. It was just overall horrible.

The stay was ok. Just needed a place to rest for a few hours from a NY to SD drive that I could have my dogs. I arrived at like 1 130 am and it felt a little sketchy. Lot of people roaming around, people living out of campers close by. Was worried my 50 year old vintage car might not of been there in the morning when I woke up was the vibe I got overall.

This place is a dump. I expected it not to be amazing, given the price, but I didn’t expect it to be this bad. The room reeked of cigarette smoke (smoke-free room), the floors were filthy, there was a large piece of the wall missing behind the TV, and the bed was very hard. At check-in I was required to put down $40 cash as a deposit on the room. The irony! There are people that live there, no biggie generally. Some of these particular people were outside on the deck playing loud music until well after midnight. It was easily heard in my room despite being several doors away. The hotel was very run down. Didn't notice at first because the lighting in the room was so poor. Took a long time for the water to become warm enough for a shower. Dips/holes in the flooring; tripping hazard. Floor was dirty. We were afraid to take off our shoes. No remote in the room. Had to go back to the desk for it. Attendant tried to be helpful. No attendant on duty most of the times I went to the desk. Not there when we checked out at 9am. (Back in 15m sign utilized constantly. The only employee I saw there.) Amenities: ice machine (clean & tasted fine), coffee in the am (did not drink), wi-fi (did not work & was too exhausted to go to the desk to ask about this). Appeared to have mold in the bathroom. I killed a cockroach about a 1/2 inch in length crawling across the desk under the TV.

this is the first bad review i've made. i didn't expect much from a motel 6 but what we walked into was disgusting. from the 30 minutes we were in the room we saw very visible black fuzzy mold above the window, mystery splatters on the walls, a loose floor board my 2yo tripped over, dirty microwave, nightstand/head board had spots on it, toilet had stuff on the seat/bowl, i took one swipe on the floor with a rag and it was black so clearly it wasn't cleaned. obviously when you book at a motel you don't expect luxury but i do expect at minimum basic cleanliness. the only good thing was they reluctantly refunded us the full amount after i brought up the black mold being a huge health hazard especially with us having young children. the amount of money they're making after hiking up their prices due to an influx of people from new workers at the plant, it's very obvious they aren't putting any of it back into the building.

Our stay at Motel 6 was extremely disappointing. The room had such a strong, unpleasant odor that all of our clothes smelled like it even after we left. We purchased air sanitizer from a nearby store in an attempt to make the room tolerable, but it did absolutely nothing to improve the smell. The beds were rock hard and very uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. To make matters worse, there appeared to be black mold in the shower area. Because of the condition of the bathroom, we did not feel comfortable using the shower at all. Cleanliness and comfort are the bare minimum expectations when staying at a hotel, and unfortunately this property failed on both. We would not stay here again and cannot recommend it to others.
