Staying at a location like this really made a once in a lifetime trip even more special. Clean. Tastefully decorated. Came with all of the amenities you can need—and the location was so nice. Managing to be nestled between old town and new town—a quiet space overlooking a gorgeous garden. Close to shops and some incredible dining—and truly steps away from public transit. The staff were always friendly and engaging and prompt in assisting with any of our needs. We will absolutely keep Sonder on our radar for any of our future travels no matter the location. The attention to detail and friendly service goes such a long way.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We had everything needed for an extended stay (washer, dryer, and full kitchen, and a gloriously large soaking tub).The location was within walking distance of everything we wanted to see with great food and bars less than a block away. It was super close to the main bus and tram terminal for easy transport to and from the airport and points further out. Final bonus: the private garden with access to the large Queens Garden. This space felt like a place out of time and provided an oasis of greenery.

We stayed at a two bedroom apartment. The kitchen had everything we needed to get started for our stay. Place was clean and comfortable. It was within walking distance of old town and new town. On a 2 week Euro-trip, this was my fav stay. The staff was friendly, the place was easy to navigate. No issues with any outlets or appliances. Shopping & food was closeby - we didn't use transit once just because it was THAT walkable. Will def be coming back the next time I come to Edinburgh. Will also look into other Sonder properties when traveling!

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay. The space is big, beautiful and light filled. Perks for us after travelling a couple of weeks were having a kitchen, the washing machine & a seperate living area. Unfortunately they don’t offer room servicing unless you pay an extra price, however they do have a little service cabinet in the lobby where you can stock up on items such as coffee pods, toilet paper etc which I thought was a great inclusion. It was our favourite hotel so far on our travels. Thanks for having us.

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay. The space is big, beautiful and light filled. Perks for us after travelling a couple of weeks were having a kitchen, the washing machine & a seperate living area. Unfortunately they don’t offer room servicing unless you pay an extra price, however they do have a little service cabinet in the lobby where you can stock up on items such as coffee pods, toilet paper etc which I thought was a great inclusion. It was our favourite hotel so far on our travels. Thanks for having us.

Great location and good access to public transportation. The bedrooms in the accommodation we had were comfortable and well decorated with ample storage space. The kitchen was well stocked with all kitchen items you could possibility need with the added benefit of a washing machine and dishwasher. Only issues were the wifi being very poor and that there was no info on how to use the digital thermostat. The wifi would connect but keep dropping/disconnecting to the point we gave up trying to use it. This also affected the digital tv.

The apartment was perfect. The instructions to get in were easy no line to wait in to get thru check in. I will use Sonder app directly from now on whatever city I'm in if they have apartments. We also lived the self service pantry to refresh items during the stay. I mean it was the experience of having your own flat in the city. This particular spot did have some noise from the road/ sidewalk but your in a prime city location so there will be hussle and bussle. We walked everywhere and grocery stores was close buy.

This was a nice apartment. Very convenient, clean and we were able to cook. One challenge we had was that the boiler was temperamental resulting in no hot water for bathing. This happened twice. It was a simple fix if you know how but the remote staff was unaware of how to fix.

Wonderful apartment. Very cosy, very clean. Decoration is beautiful and everything you might need is ready for you. We had a studio without view (which means there are no windows at all), but it was perfectly ventilated and that didn’t bother us at all (except checking the weather in the morning maybe). Our only complaint is that the bed was a bit small (1m40) for 2 people. We also didn’t receive the correct room number and our code to enter the building was wrong. It would have been tricky if we did arrive as planned late at night.

We had a 2 bed apartment, 1 queen size bed and 1 single. The apartment was huge, really spacious and lots of storage and it’s in a fab location really central for everywhere. First impressions were very good but there were a few issues. The biggest being no ceiling lights in the queen bedroom and living area, only tiny wall lights with yellow bulbs. I couldn’t even unpack my case without the torch on my iPhone never mind be able to see myself properly to dry my hair and put on make up. The girl on reception did try her best to resolve this by getting us some brighter, whiter bulbs for the wall lights and a lamp. We were also offered a change of room but would have to pay £50 which we declined. We managed with the brighter bulbs but overall it did make the apartment feel a bit dark and dungeon like. I imagine it would be better if you stayed in the summer and got more natural daylight. Other than that the shower head popped off a couple of times and the shower screen didn’t meet the top of the bath properly so water went everywhere when you were having a shower. I few minor other things that just took the edge of the overall impression, wire hanging down from behind the tv, part of the radiator was falling off in the hallway and one of the sockets in the kitchen wasn’t working. Overall a few minor changes and attention to detail could’ve made a ok stay and really good one

The property was clean, aesthetically pleasing, in a great location for walking the city, close to shops and restaurants. Even though you do have a code, there is someone on property for a number of hours during the day. Only downsides, communication was difficult and lacking, and the twin bed in the twin room was uncomfortable for an adult.

The staff was amazing and checking in was very easy and pleasant The property was really lovely and located in best area of Edinburgh. The apartment was very spacious, well equipped and comfortable. The only negative was that there were no windows and because it was in the basement, the apartment required to be equipped with air vents and circulation which was very noisy and it could not be turned down and the sleep was disturbed. Overall it was very nice and large apartment in great location.

We had a 2 bed apartment, 1 queen size bed and 1 single. The apartment was huge, really spacious and lots of storage and it’s in a fab location really central for everywhere. First impressions were very good but there were a few issues. The biggest being no ceiling lights in the queen bedroom and living area, only tiny wall lights with yellow bulbs. I couldn’t even unpack my case without the torch on my iPhone never mind be able to see myself properly to dry my hair and put on make up. The girl on reception did try her best to resolve this by getting us some brighter, whiter bulbs for the wall lights and a lamp. We were also offered a change of room but would have to pay £50 which we declined. We managed with the brighter bulbs but overall it did make the apartment feel a bit dark and dungeon like. I imagine it would be better if you stayed in the summer and got more natural daylight. Other than that the shower head popped off a couple of times and the shower screen didn’t meet the top of the bath properly so water went everywhere when you were having a shower. I few minor other things that just took the edge of the overall impression, wire hanging down from behind the tv, part of the radiator was falling off in the hallway and one of the sockets in the kitchen wasn’t working. Overall a few minor changes and attention to detail could’ve made a ok stay and really good one

Staying at a location like this really made a once in a lifetime trip even more special. Clean. Tastefully decorated. Came with all of the amenities you can need—and the location was so nice. Managing to be nestled between old town and new town—a quiet space overlooking a gorgeous garden. Close to shops and some incredible dining—and truly steps away from public transit. The staff were always friendly and engaging and prompt in assisting with any of our needs. We will absolutely keep Sonder on our radar for any of our future travels no matter the location. The attention to detail and friendly service goes such a long way.

Great location and very close to the train station. Friendly staff and were very attentive when the sink broke to help to solve the problem. The rooms are really big and have great amenities and quiet! Would recommend staying if we went to Edinburgh again

We had everything needed for an extended stay (washer, dryer, and full kitchen, and a gloriously large soaking tub).The location was within walking distance of everything we wanted to see with great food and bars less than a block away. It was super close to the main bus and tram terminal for easy transport to and from the airport and points further out. Final bonus: the private garden with access to the large Queens Garden. This space felt like a place out of time and provided an oasis of greenery.

The only negative was that there were no windows and because it was in the basement, the apartment required to be equipped with air vents and circulation which was very noisy and it could not be turned down and the sleep was disturbed. Overall it was very nice and large apartment in great location.

Sonder apartment is very well placed and was really comfortable. Has all you need. My only negative impression were the excessive charges for checking in between one and three hours before 4pm. I believe is not a good detail charging extra if the apartment is ready as it is already quite costly. They did not reply messages via Hotels.com

Wonderful apartment. Very cosy, very clean. Decoration is beautiful and everything you might need is ready for you. We had a studio without view (which means there are no windows at all), but it was perfectly ventilated and that didn’t bother us at all (except checking the weather in the morning maybe). Our only complaint is that the bed was a bit small (1m40) for 2 people. We also didn’t receive the correct room number and our code to enter the building was wrong. It would have been tricky if we did arrive as planned late at night.

We had a great stay! The only critical thing I have to say is that there isn’t complimentary room cleaning or turn down service, hey charge an extra fee for that if you want it. Otherwise our stay was lovely, the facility was very nice, and the people at the front desk were extremely kind and helpful! It was pretty centrally located and had amenities that we enjoyed. Overall we would stay here again!

The property was clean, aesthetically pleasing, in a great location for walking the city, close to shops and restaurants. Even though you do have a code, there is someone on property for a number of hours during the day. Only downsides, communication was difficult and lacking, and the twin bed in the twin room was uncomfortable for an adult.

The whole process was seamless - from leaving our bags in the lockers and checking in, to the stay itself. Central being an understatement - with walkable distance to every single thing you would want to visit in Edinburgh, comfortable and more than spacious for a three night stay and a fair price to boot - I’d highly recommend it.

We stayed at a two bedroom apartment. The kitchen had everything we needed to get started for our stay. Place was clean and comfortable. It was within walking distance of old town and new town. There were tram and bus stations everywhere. We did not need a rental car. The only complaint our beds were very stiff. There was a front desk with a manager when we arrived in the afternoon. The office is closed in the evening. Make sure your reservation is complete before arriving. Uploading ID documentation is very important. Great stay, beautiful gardens behind the hotel. Would stay again.

The apartment was perfect. The instructions to get in were easy no line to wait in to get thru check in. I will use Sonder app directly from now on whatever city I'm in if they have apartments. We also lived the self service pantry to refresh items during the stay. I mean it was the experience of having your own flat in the city. This particular spot did have some noise from the road/ sidewalk but your in a prime city location so there will be hussle and bussle. We walked everywhere and grocery stores was close buy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Thistle Suites in Edinburgh. Our suite was spacious, clean and comfortable for our group of 4. We enjoyed the living area and kitchen amenities. Front desk staff was accommodating and helpful. One of the best things about this accommodation is the location in Newtown. Close to the train and bus station and easy walking distance to the Old town. Communication with the property was effortless. The only issues I would mention is that the size of the bed in the master room is definitely not a North American Queen and that the smell in some of the halls and lobby area was really bad, suggestive of dead mice. Thankfully this smell was not evident in our room. Aside from that, the room was terrific and we would definitely stay there again.

Very clean apartment. Noise from the street was the only drawback since it's an older building without double glazing and on a busy street. We only stayed 2 nights because we were touring but would have liked to have stayed longer. Near to Princes Street and Royal Mile, restaurants, bus station.
