Stay was really good, guys at reception are excellent especially guy named Talhom or some similar name, im not sure, but 10 starts for hotel, only where I could give 8/10 stars is pool, workers at pool are not very friendly if you are not paying massage. Plus, they gave us used towel fill of female hair on it

Bra läge, trevlig personal och duktiga på engelska. Personalen på spa:t var inte riktigt ärliga och försökte lura oss på pengar. Trots lovad schampo/balsam på spa:t så fanns det inget där. Annars ett superfint hotell med lyxkänsla.

The Occidental is an amazing hotel and will be my number one hotel of choice on future visits to Istanbul. I was greeted warmly at reception and offered refreshments on arrival. I was then upgraded to a wrap around balcony suite. The suite was very large and was spotlessly clean. There was a gift of complimentary chocolates. There was a slight issue with the tv not working and someone arrived within a few minutes to rectify it. I was impressed. There is an amazing pool and jacuzzi. There are massages available at very reasonable prices. Breakfast was absolutely amazing, freshly baked breads replenished every 10 minutes, ginger shots, a variety of egg dishes, omelettes cooked to order, hot and cold buffet, churros and more. Delicious! It was my birthday during my stay and even though I did not mention this, the staff surprised me with a birthday cake and card delivered to my room. One of the staff also gave me chocolates. At checkout I was also given a token gift. All the staff went above and beyond to make my stay in Istanbul special, were super friendly and professional. A wonderful hotel in the heart of Taksim.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is very convenient by Hava Bus from the airport. The funicular & tram are very close to all the main sights. It was quiet, rooms maintained to a good standard & tea & coffee facilities available. Breakfast is excellent value for money with a huge of array of food & great coffee! The spa was clean and staff welcoming, just what is needed after walking 20,000 steps during the day. Staff are approachable & can speak several languages well. I'd like to say that Seda, a trainee, was very professional at reception & I was very happy to see there were a number of trainees at the hotel and that giving young people an opportunity to enhance their career. A lovely stay that made our time in İstanbul even more memorable.

Great hotel right at Taksim. There is a lot of choice and if this fits your budget it's an excellent option! Got upgraded to a balcony room so that helped! Good breakfast and great indoor pool and spa!

Location close to Taksim square and surrounding area with almost 24/7 shopping and easy access to transport excellent. Rooms somewhat “worn”, but clean and bed comfortable. Had “superior room” with balcony (806). Balcony spacy and sunny in afternoon. Nice big fridge. VERY noisy from neighbor rooms, walls are paperthin and even low voices can be heard easily. In next door room had family with screaming kids (and parents) past midnight, and hotel apparently couldn’t move us to other room with balcony, were very reluctant to ask for them to try to lower the noise level and didn’t offer any consolation (we didn’t ask). Maybe noise problem only on 8. balcony floor which seems to have different layout than other lower floors. Pool small but clean, same goes for spa/sauna area. Staff ok friendly but as mentioned could/would not fix biggest issue. Breakfast was poor but of course convenient to have in house. Considering overall price level in Istanbul could probably have found cheaper with same amenities, but location was good and we enjoyed our stay.

There were huge ants all over the rooms. It was very scary. When we told the hotel staff. They were not giving us a separate room. Finally after complaining for two straight days they gave us a separate room. We were women and had such a bad time in this hotel due to their negligence and ants. We did not pay for ants to share the room with us. They did not give us any discount or anything to cover such a terrible time. It was very disappointing. I would like to get my money for 2-3 nights back. As I stayed with ants and it was a traumatizing experience to feel that they would be in my clothes or shoes etc.

A limpeza diaria do apartamento deixou muito a desejar, o banheiro estava visivelmente sujo, inclusive com cabelo de outros hospedes nas paredes do box. O lixo nao era retirado e o papel higiênico nao era reposto, o dispenser do sabonete líquido se descolou da parede do box desde o inicio e no foi recolocado. Alimentos e Bebidas foi bom, café da manhã, especialmente.

Great quiet location close to everything walking to takim square and taxis ! Beautiful hotel great staff all so kind and helpful! First room bathroom was dirty tiles and old not renovated had smoke from other room come in and got sick !

Siamo arrivati in tarda notte e ci hanno dato una stanza maleodorante e rumorosa. Al nostro reclamo, il portiere di notte ha detto che non c'erano altre stanze libere e che dovevamo adattarci. Dopo una notte insonne, abbiamo chiesto di fare il check-out per trovare una sistemazione altrove e, alla fine, grazie all'intervento di Expedia ci hanno cambiato la camera ed il direttore ha fatto un upgrade addirittura ad una suite. Un elogio alla direzione dall'hotel. Tuttavia, abbiamo pagato una notte in più per una stanza inagibile e nessuno si è offerto di rimborsami per il disagio sofferto, oltreché per il prezzo del soggiorno inutilmente pagato. Un consiglio a tutti coloro che andranno in Turchia: reagite sempre ai tentativi di truffare noi turisti europei (saranno molti e frequenti) e non rinunciate a far valere in ogni modo i vostri diritti di viaggiatori. Questo hotel ha un solo grande pregio: una colazione ottima.

This hotel is definitely not 4 star. The room was dated, the bathroom door was rotted from water damage, they didn’t refill the body wash in the shower for our entire stay. The local area is so noisy at night with street vendors setting up to sell bootleg items at 11pm. My next visit to Istanbul will be at a different hotel.

Location of the hotel was fantastic and the price we booked at was quite decent. Breakfast was ok. The shower temperature was horrible and quite dangerous for kids because it kept switching from warm to extremely hot and then cold without me adjusting it. Was very annoyed. The lady at reception was checking out wasn’t the friendliest and a bit rude.

The Occidental is an amazing hotel and will be my number one hotel of choice on future visits to Istanbul. I was greeted warmly at reception and offered refreshments on arrival. I was then upgraded to a wrap around balcony suite. The suite was very large and was spotlessly clean. There was a gift of complimentary chocolates. There was a slight issue with the tv not working and someone arrived within a few minutes to rectify it. I was impressed. There is an amazing pool and jacuzzi. There are massages available at very reasonable prices. Breakfast was absolutely amazing, freshly baked breads replenished every 10 minutes, ginger shots, a variety of egg dishes, omelettes cooked to order, hot and cold buffet, churros and more. Delicious! It was my birthday during my stay and even though I did not mention this, the staff surprised me with a birthday cake and card delivered to my room. One of the staff also gave me chocolates. At checkout I was also given a token gift. All the staff went above and beyond to make my stay in Istanbul special, were super friendly and professional. A wonderful hotel in the heart of Taksim.

This property has great and not so great elements. First the great. Service is amazing,so is housekeeping. Property is is relatively in good shape. Really get a feel for the history of Istanbul The not so good - A. Bathroom for a suite has only single sink and one bathroom B. Smelt second hand smoke coming from AC vent

Location close to Taksim square and surrounding area with almost 24/7 shopping and easy access to transport excellent. Rooms somewhat “worn”, but clean and bed comfortable. Had “superior room” with balcony (806). Balcony spacy and sunny in afternoon. Nice big fridge. VERY noisy from neighbor rooms, walls are paperthin and even low voices can be heard easily. In next door room had family with screaming kids (and parents) past midnight, and hotel apparently couldn’t move us to other room with balcony, were very reluctant to ask for them to try to lower the noise level and didn’t offer any consolation (we didn’t ask). Maybe noise problem only on 8. balcony floor which seems to have different layout than other lower floors. Pool small but clean, same goes for spa/sauna area. Staff ok friendly but as mentioned could/would not fix biggest issue. Breakfast was poor but of course convenient to have in house. Considering overall price level in Istanbul could probably have found cheaper with same amenities, but location was good and we enjoyed our stay.

Bra läge, trevlig personal och duktiga på engelska. Personalen på spa:t var inte riktigt ärliga och försökte lura oss på pengar. Trots lovad schampo/balsam på spa:t så fanns det inget där. Annars ett superfint hotell med lyxkänsla.

I had a bad experience upon check in and going 2 my room. Worst experience ever. But to the hotels credit they have done everything possible to make this up to me so credit is due. The stay has been fine afterwards and the hotel is a good place to stay. Credit to the check in desk AM who has done everything he could to smooth over the initial experience. Thank you Fettah Acar.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is very convenient by Hava Bus from the airport. The funicular & tram are very close to all the main sights. It was quiet, rooms maintained to a good standard & tea & coffee facilities available. Breakfast is excellent value for money with a huge of array of food & great coffee! The spa was clean and staff welcoming, just what is needed after walking 20,000 steps during the day. Staff are approachable & can speak several languages well. I'd like to say that Seda, a trainee, was very professional at reception & I was very happy to see there were a number of trainees at the hotel and that giving young people an opportunity to enhance their career. A lovely stay that made our time in İstanbul even more memorable.

Siamo arrivati in tarda notte e ci hanno dato una stanza maleodorante e rumorosa. Al nostro reclamo, il portiere di notte ha detto che non c'erano altre stanze libere e che dovevamo adattarci. Dopo una notte insonne, abbiamo chiesto di fare il check-out per trovare una sistemazione altrove e, alla fine, grazie all'intervento di Expedia ci hanno cambiato la camera ed il direttore ha fatto un upgrade addirittura ad una suite. Un elogio alla direzione dall'hotel. Tuttavia, abbiamo pagato una notte in più per una stanza inagibile e nessuno si è offerto di rimborsami per il disagio sofferto, oltreché per il prezzo del soggiorno inutilmente pagato. Un consiglio a tutti coloro che andranno in Turchia: reagite sempre ai tentativi di truffare noi turisti europei (saranno molti e frequenti) e non rinunciate a far valere in ogni modo i vostri diritti di viaggiatori. Questo hotel ha un solo grande pregio: una colazione ottima.

They upgraded us to a 5 star hotel for one night as there was a fire alarm issue at the hotel. They also gave us free dinner and free breakfast every morning. Staff on the front desk were very helpful getting us cheaper cab ride to helping us navigate Istanbul. Rooms were decent size, very clean.

I loved this boutique hotel, on the coner in the thick of things.walkable to a lot of tourists spot. Lively and active area like NYC . Yet in the hotel quiet and comfortable. Be careful in clubs, 2 in our group were scammed by women who work with the club. Also get the hotel to arrange for Taxi -$35.00 when they did it, $80 when we did.

Amazing location. Five mins from Taksim square. Plenty of stores nearby for grocery and eateries. The entrance of hotel is at a corner but the rooms are good sized and clean with adequate amenities. Staff was also very friendly.

We reached quite early than the check in time. But the staff ensured we were given a room as soon as possible when one is vacated. And once they did they upgraded us to a suite. Breakfast spread was really good and tasty. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean and well maintained. Overall a very good experience

Location close to Taksim square and surrounding area with almost 24/7 shopping and easy access to transport excellent. Rooms somewhat “worn”, but clean and bed comfortable. Had “superior room” with balcony (806). Balcony spacy and sunny in afternoon. Nice big fridge. VERY noisy from neighbor rooms, walls are paperthin and even low voices can be heard easily. In next door room had family with screaming kids (and parents) past midnight, and hotel apparently couldn’t move us to other room with balcony, were very reluctant to ask for them to try to lower the noise level and didn’t offer any consolation (we didn’t ask). Maybe noise problem only on 8. balcony floor which seems to have different layout than other lower floors. Pool small but clean, same goes for spa/sauna area.
