I was first hesitant to book this hotel based on some reviews. I'm glad I had given it a try though. I will book this hotel again. Incredibly friendly staff. Comfortable beds. It has an arcade and a pool which scored extra points with the kids. The hotel is located close to the river and amazing restaurants, and more playgrounds for the kids. Also, shopping and Tim Hortons right across the road. We didn't mind the noise from the nearby trains. Some reviews mentioned a smell because the hotel is older. I didn't notice anything off. And yes, there were a noticable amounts of homeless and people abusing drugs in the middle of the day right by the hotel, but we avoided them and didn't feel unsafe or anything.

We stayed at this hotel 2 years ago it was clean , nice beds, nice clean hot tub/pool and a good complementary breakfast although the area was not the best but just ok. Yesterday we stayed there again and horribly disappointed. The beds were caved and sunken in the middle and so uncomfortable. The water in the shower kept turning cold and loosing pressure when another room would turn their water on. Then went to the pool area-there were black chunks of something floating and swirling around in the hot tub and the pool was so cloudy you couldn’t see the bottom. Didn’t dare go in. I told the front desk and the staff said they would look into it. At this point in time I discovered they no longer have a complementary breakfast. We woke at 5am by a screeching alarm clock ( I suppose we should have checked that before going to bed). We left at 630 am sadly disappointed and tired from the bad sleep on the sagging mattresses. The staff asked how the stay was so i told him about how disappointed we were and he didn’t really seem to care but said he would tell the manager (doubtful) We went to our vehicle only to find the area around our truck littered with beer cans and bits and pieces of garbage. I assume the area has gotten worse since we were last there as there are warning signs everywhere warning guests not to leave valuables in the car and the hotel is not responsible for damage or thefts. Oh and accosted by an angry pit bull and it’s owner in the hallway. Will Never return!

First time staying at this hotel, its a great place for families, pool, hot tub, arcade with 1$ games, pool table, and a cute little movie theatre. Rooms were spacious and clean, could use better pillows and the only negative for me was the "tip" container at the front desk, thought this was tacky. Good food close by and great walking distance to riverside park and tons of restaurants.

Unfortunately we chose this hotel for the pool and arcade for the kids but when we checked in we were told both areas were booked for a private function by the owner . Disappointing if we had known we would have stayed somewhere that we could have access the pool before 8pm at night .

Checking in and out was no problem at all. Friendly staff. But the room had water/liquid marks that weren’t mopped up, contact lens stuck the the bathroom counter, clumpy pillows, dog feces(#2) in the lobby when we first got there.

Great area of town and good amenities in the hotel but all the glasses in the room were dirty and the shampoo was out. When I asked for a mini bottle, they had none available and did not offer to come fill it either.

Bathroom very small, grouting around the tub cracked, dirty and moldy. Room was getting a little dated. Parking did not seem very secure and the front desk suggested bringing belongings into the room due to the homeless who frequent the area. We have stayed here several times but feel it's time to find a new hotel that's more suitable.

Hotel old but refreshed. Very clean. Big problem- walls are paper thin. We felt like our neighbors were in the room with us. We could hear their tv, conversations, every sneeze. We stay in lots of hotels and it’s never been this bad. A shame because all other parts were fine.

The hotel had a large room and was clean and quieter than I expected. The train tracks were close by but were not an issue for our stay. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was simple but affordable and quick. Maybe a little tired but rooms were modern and in good shape. Overall very happy with our stay and felt it was great value for the money.

The hotel is in very poor condition. The rooms smell. We paid $200+ for a night stay. We were okay with the price thinking we will get a good night sleep after a long drive. Our room was 319, next to an elevator. We could hear anyone walking in the hallway, slamming luggage and opening and closing of elevator. Worst stay. Didn't get a restful sleep. Won't recommend this hotel at all. You are better off staying at holiday inn with better amenities and location at a less cost.

Room was just ok for the money. Property is a little “tired” and could use an upgrade. For the money, would have appreciated a breakfast included. Mattress on the bed has definitely passed the “best before” date but staff were very nice and helpful and it has a good central location.

The room was great- beds were pretty comfy. TV had a good selection of channels. Air conditioner was amazing. Wifi was awful in our room on the third floor though. It is downtown so there were some unhoused outside, but no one really bothered us as we walked to a place for dinner.

I really can’t say more than enough nice things about the Lady named CHEY that works at the hotel. I had to make arrangements for my mom to stay there after her husband passed. CHEY made my mom comfortable and took care of her until I arrived ! She helped my mom unload her car and helped her belongings etc. I am from Winnipeg so it was not able to be there for her check in as I was flying out the next day. Just excellent to see people like Chey are out there helping seniors.

Front and staff was friendly and professional. They accommodated an early check-in space there was a group in the hotel for a hockey tournament and they booked my room in on the other end of the hotel so I wouldn’t be bothered. Wouldn’t have anyways, but it was very thoughtful of them.

They down graded my room due to having my service animal even when I had VIP access booking through Expedia This shows a clear lack of awareness and training. Service animals are not pets, they’re protected by law. I hope the hotel takes steps to better educate their team.

there was a fire alarm that went off at Sunday night at the hotel at 9pm. My 6 year old child and I had to evacuate along with everyone else. We left the hotel and went to stay somewhere else. I was told we would get a refund for that night and then we never got one as "apparently" they can\'t give one if the booking was through Expedia. Apparently nothing they can do (yah right). So beware with this hotel, they get their cut through Expedia then when they mess up they won\'t do anything after the say they will to compensate for a bad stay. Don\'t book here.

The location is terrible - unsafe area with many homeless people and drug users. The front desk had referred my wife to the Seven Eleven around the corner to pick up milk. The short walk was scary and unsafe and she had to wait there for me to come and pick her up. The hotel staff was very sympathetic to our situation but on the other hand did not offer any assistance. This was a very bad experience for us and purely for safety reasons we urge everyone to seek accommodation elsewhere - probably best not in Kamloops.

Stayed here for a bachelorette party. They were able to accommodate an early check-in for us since we had an event to attend in the early afternoon. The location was great for walking to the bars downtown later at night. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and clean. For being downtown it was also quiet. The blackout curtains were great and so was the AC. We didn’t end up using the pool but it looked clean and not too busy either. We loved the arcade area and the snack shop. The only aspect I was disappointed with was the breakfast bistro. The service wasn’t great. The food was great either. My sausages were cold, we had to send back two plates of cold, soggy hashbrowns and then they completely forgot one of our meals and had already started cleaning up and preparing to close before we had to remind them that we were still waiting on a meal.

First time staying at this hotel, its a great place for families, pool, hot tub, arcade with 1$ games, pool table, and a cute little movie theatre. Rooms were spacious and clean, could use better pillows and the only negative for me was the "tip" container at the front desk, thought this was tacky. We did find a brunch place called Hello Toast and there is a Tim Hortons walkable from the hotel.

We stayed here 2 weekends in a row. It was a good location for us. The pool was operating, but had multiple birthday parties booked throughout the weekend that were booked as private parties. It would have been nice to know when it was open. When we asked for hours it would be open, they said they could not share when the private parties were booked. Breakfast was even more disappointing. It is not included, which is fine. Cost of $10.00 per person. If this was a free continental breakfast, I would have complained about the quality. I asked for a refund after seeing what they offered, and they would not give it. We had not even eaten yet. We had cereal, and toast with no spread. Avoid the breakfast. More than anything, the staff was very rude. I am sure they are frustrated with dealing with these complaints. I don't normally complain, and we were not rude or yelling at the staff, but they had no interest in talking with us about the issues.

The hotel location and staff were all great. The espresso machine was down in the café, which limited coffees in the morning not so good there the room had marijuana cigarettes in the AC vents that made it smell a little off as well as inside the refrigerator in the room.
