Days Inn by Wyndham Staten Island

Arrived and room was extremely tiny for 2 people, only had one bed and asked to upgrade. Was told the manager would not allow it even though they had rooms available. Bathroom door opened outward and entrance door was right next to it..Could even open the bathroom door all the way it hit the entrance door. I am not sure who designed these rooms, but it was too small for anything. I have never experienced a room this tiny, and I travel almost every weekend and stay in hotels. Woman at the desk was super nice and kept apologizing but wasn't her fault. No parking garage or lot. Have to park on the street and it's a meter!!! Never experienced a hotel without parking as well. Was never to this area before so it was chaotic for me to try to find parking and feel safe with my vehicle on the main street. I think if they allowed us to upgrade and pay more for a bigger room I would not have given such a bad review but why would the manager not allow it?

There is no parking at the property. It’s all street parking - one street is metered parking and the side is free if you can find parking. The area does not seem the greatest so I felt uncomfortable leaving my car not on the hotel property but a few streets down. This is not handicap-friendly since the front of the hotel is for buses. They should remove “free parking” and “breakfast” as the amenities. I’m thinking the breakfast part is because of it being new, but all they had was one kcup machine. In regards to the staff, they are friendly. The man who checked us in was cheerful and kind. The room was very clean.

Clean, rooms were very small. Pillows weren’t comfortable. They only had street parking that fills up quickly.

Hidden Gem on Staten Island. Everything was great from the staff , the room and the breakfast. The only negative was the parking situation. Overall I would stay again.

Check-in was easy, very cordial front desk staff. Upon arrival, we were greeted by lots of ants in our room. We thought maybe the previous guests left some food out. Asked to be moved and was told someone would come up and spray. They sprayed and we went out for dinner hoping for the best. When we came back there was still a continuous crawling of ants all over the floor. The final straw was seeing one on a pillow in the bed. We went back down to ask to be moved and was told there were no rooms available (she reached out to the manager). Came back up with the same spray, which I used to spray much more. I'm glad it was natural but the mint scent was bad enough to burn our eyes. We were forced to deal with this and while the ant population decreased over the next 24 hours, it never actually subsided. We stepped on ants very regularly during our stay. I asked twice via Expedia to speak to a manager and did not get a response. Poor follow up customer service. I will not be returning here and will consider this if I see a Day's Inn option in any of my travels.

It was a wonderful stay. The hotel was clean. They had breakfast and the staff was kind.

There was bugs all over my suite case and Jair all over the bathroom

Rooms are not cleaned well. Hairs on the floor all over the room and bathroom. Bad smell in the bathroom.

We stayed three nights at this hotel and the first night we checked in the floors had not been cleaned. There were stains and dirt and hair all over the floor. We asked the worker at the front desk if it could be cleaned the next morning while we were out of the room all day and when we got back that evening the floors were still dirty. We then asked the front desk again to please clean the floors the next morning. AGAIN they did not come by our room and clean them. We had to spend three nights in a dirty hotel with no compensation. Also the area around the hotel is not the best. If you are traveling alone I would not recommend this hotel. You have to park in the neighboring area and it would not be wise to have to walk back and forth to your car in that neighborhood at night.

Rooms are beautiful and still very new and clean looking. Unfortunately, the single bed rooms are extremely small. But overall, it’s really nice.

Pros: Very clean and comfortable, good delis in the area, very walkable. Cons: Room is on the smaller side, you can hear doors slam from your room.

Small rooms but you are in city so the norm. Clean and bed comfortable. Very helpful staff and easy drive to ferry to NYC for 5 boro ride.

No key cards front desk had to let people into rooms and lied saying it would be fixed. So it made for an uncomfortable stay knowing if I leave I have to get front desk to open the door. I could have lived with that if I wasn’t placed into a smokers room that reeked of chain smoking cigarettes. I am very upset my freaking clothes stink now. Room 704 should be decommissioned. Unreal that’s what I was given. And then on top of that no TV remote in the room. The smoke is unacceptable everything else is minor.

The front desk gentleman was out of this world. Best check in experience! Felt like VIP service

The Worst Hotel Experience Ever – Avoid at All Costs This was hands down the worst hotel experience my wife has ever had — booked through Hotels.com, which only made it worse. Despite good ratings online, everything went wrong. She couldn’t make it the first night and called ahead, but the front desk didn’t understand English and didn’t cancel the reservation. When she arrived the next evening, tired and called ahead, but the front desk didn’t understand English and didn’t cancel the reservation. When she arrived the next evening, tired and stressed, they had canceled her second night too — and then tried to resell the same room for $100 more. She had no car and no options, and they kept repeating the same excuse. To top it off, a drunk guest behind her kept on mocking her “Wow, you’re lucky they’re even letting you stay.” She stood at the counter for over an hour fighting for a room she already paid for. When she finally got it, the room was unbearably noisy — likely next to a boiler or ice machine. She couldn’t sleep at all. Horrible service, zero accountability, and a total lack of basic decency. Don’t trust the reviews. Absolutely never again. Zero stars.

No matter what how much I keep coming over on my trip, they still remember me and welcome me! I also love the staff and the workers. They always make me feel welcome and safe!

No parking except street parking. Paid online and specifically asked when manager looked lost that he was only putting incidentals on my cc. I was charged twice and it took two days to be refunded. I do appreciate the girl who answered for making sure it got done. Hotel is in the hood in Staten Island. Wouldn’t stay again

Great hotel, and although the location for me is rather convenient, the area it is surrounded by seems a bit dingy and has litter everywhere. I'd see broken glass bottles on the ground and have to be careful where I step. It's also next to a metal working warehouse that often makes a lotta noise during weekdays. None of this isn't the hotel's fault at all however.

Desk staff was consistently friendly and warm all week at all times of the day and night while I was there. Room was basic, but was in good condition and adequately provided the basics if you're not snooty with your needs. The hotel fits the bill if your main goal is to give up the frills to save money in an expensive city. Locale isn't ideal (immediate neighborhood isn't scenic, 4-mile walk or ride to the ferry, but it's closer to the ferry than most other options).

Very walkable area

Property it’s self was nice, clean. Staff great. But the area around it I can’t say the same about. Area dirty and shady. On the plus side easy bus ride to the ferry. The bus is right outside of the front door.

Close to the Staten Island Ferry

Not only is there no onsite parking, there is no parking anywhere nearby - not that I would have felt safe leaving my car or walking to the hotel. The area was so bad that we decided our lives were worth more than the cost of the hotel - that they wouldn’t refund. Very disappointed in the chain. This was a scary and horrible experience. Luckily, the Hilton was able to fit us in, with parking and much safer area- and it was CHEAPER!

Very accessible to public transport

New property and thus a solid selection for the area - but also missing some essentials like coat hangers etc. Really much further away from Manhattan than you'd think, making it a real pain to get to.

The room was tight but clean and sufficient. I was concerned about the lack of designated parking, but we were able to park our car on the street in front of the hotel and had no trouble. We picked the hotel for its proximity to the Staten Island Ferry, which we were able to ride for free and enjoy a day in Manhattan without the hassle or expense of staying in Manhattan.

Very convenient location close to Staten Island Ferry

Great stay for the price! The croissants in the morning are amazing!!! Gentleman at the front desk is wonderful! Drove to the ferry. Parked for $16 and the ferry was free to Manhattan. Walked Broadway and shopped on Canal. Super easy and walkable from the Ferry.

Was a great location. Was leaving on a Cruise from Bayonne the next day. Free breakfast was a little weak.

Breakfast could be better for the Prices and let us know that there is absolutely no private parking...

I would say this is the best Days Inn I’ve ever seen. The brand has a bad wrap. This one is basically new. Location wise not the best if you are trying to do things in New York, but it does have public transit close. The AC was amazing. The breakfast was just coffee and some Croissants. They had cereal too but no bowls while I was there. The room was comfortable.
