Hótel Jökulsárlón - Glacier Lagoon Hotel

Loved it. Very clean, very good service. Peaceful. Only downside is that they wouldn't open the second spa at night even though many people wanted to enjoy the spa facilities.

Almost….. Pros- very comfy beds, gorgeous views from sauna and two outdoor hot tubs, helpful and nice staff, great sitting areas in lobby. Cons- For the price, you wouldn’t expect a lukewarm shower (water would not get hot), water in outdoor hot tubs to be 88 degrees for several hours (not bad if it wasn’t 45 degrees outside) and perfectly cooked meal to be almost warm and have stems and rinds left on the fruit. Almost got it…. Just needing a bit of attention to a few things to have this place worth the high price tag. Be aware there are no other places to eat and if you have special dietary restrictions you need to call the hotel restaurant ahead of time to plan as their menu is incredibly limited. If I had to go it again, I’d stay at an Air BnB in the area where you could cook and be in a better area (all views are gorgeous here).

We had a great stay. Hótel is brand new, we enjoyed the hot tubs, sauna and cold plunge in the lagoon. Dinner at the onsite restaurant was good, but limited menu. Wish the hot tubs/sauna were open a little bit later, but overall, great stay.

Loved our stay at this hotel. The hot tub and sauna was lovely, breakfast was great and staff were amazing. Usually I never visit the same hotel twice (the world is a big place and I want to see something new) but would definitely come back to stay at this hotel again.

Amazing hotel comfortable bed slept so well quiet location, spa baths amazing did not use ourselves but would have on a longer stay, restaurant food was delicious cosy atmosphere plenty seats to chill in with a drink, staff letting people know Aurora Borealis was around, could have a wake up call if you wanted for Borealis 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Gorgeous hotel with cedar walls, high ceilings, modern aesthetic. Gym, saunas and hot tubs overlooking the glacier were a great bonus. We enjoyed it all after a long day of exploring. Bar and restaurant also very good. Location close to glacier lagoon and other activities. We loved our stay.

The hotel room was extremely spacious and the facilities were lovely. Sauna and hot tubs were busy but everyone kept to themselves so you could stl enjoy your time there. The food at the restaurant was very good as well.

We only stayed one night and feel like the hotel is pretty nice but not worth the premium price point. The good: - Hot tub + sauna with amazing views - Clean rooms - Nice views - Gym & wellness room The bad: - The room seriously smelled terrible. I'm not sure what it was but it was a strong B.O. smell. We asked the reception if they had air freshener for us and were told "you can speak to my manager in the morning". Pretty crappy customer service if you ask me...we arrived at 8 PM and were leaving at 10 AM so the morning would be the full duration of our stay. - The rooms are hot. The heat wasn't on and there was only a small window that we kept open 100% of our short stay. They give you a tiny little fan that we also kept on 100% of the time. When we looked at the rooms from the hot tub I'd say 90% of them had their windows open. - Nitpick: I don't care about having the tv welcome me with my name but I couldn't help but notice ours said "Welcome Chris K**ly"...I went to the front desk to tell them not to put my name on the TV since I don't my name stuck on a screen for future guests. The front desk didn't say "yes I'll remove it" but instead said that the "housekeeping sometimes gets lazy and doesn't update it". Very weird response imo for such a high price point...just...get rid of the name? Depends on your hotel vibe but my wife and I thought it was pretty nice but incredibly overpriced. If you want American hotel vibes and not cottage vibes this may be your place.

We were really looking forward to our stay.The views were amazing. The food at the restaurant was not so good and the bartender was unfriendly. Our room had a terrible odor and no one seemed to care.

We stayed in Hotel Jökulsárlón during a recent trip to Iceland. Online, the hotel looked beautiful, and in person it was even better. Everything was gleaming, shiny, and spotlessly clean. Robes, slippers, towel warmers and vanity kits are provided, as well as a wonderful coffee machine with ample pods. Breakfast was lavish and delicious. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, gracious, and helpful, with one staff member providing us with amazing recommendations for our itinerary. The hotel is still under construction but the rooms are soundproofed so we didn’t hear it at all. The hotel is decorated tastefully, and is surrounded by stunning mountains, giving a gorgeous view from the rooms. All in all, our stay at Hotel Jokulsarlon was a 10/10 and if we return to Iceland we definitely would stay there again. All in all, HIGHLY recommend.

We loved staying here, for 2 nights! The restaurant is absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was very tasty! (beef, cod, pork). The property was well maintained, very clean and absolutely gorgeous! 3 hot tubs, with a great view (even in the fog) made relaxing a piece of cake. I do wish they had mini fridges in room but they will store cold items for you at the front desk. The rooms were well laid out, for drying out clothes, the shower was great with good water pressure and clean! Bed was comfortable as well. Only complaint would be for the breakfast buffet- cook the eggs longer or even have an omelet station for the price. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again!

This was one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve been to. The hot tubs overlooking the glacier felt like something out of a movie. The bed was comfortable, the rainfall shower was exquisite. Not a lot of food options in the area; bring dinner and snacks or check out the restaurant in the hotel.

Beautiful views of the glacier, very nice spacious room (we got the corner suite) which was able to easily accommodate a roll out bed. bathroom with bathtub and separate shower. Outdoor sauna and hot tub with an amazing pond completed the features. A very nice restaurant and a well furnished bar were the cherry on the pie.

View is great! Breakfast is so good with lots of different choices. Only thing to complain is the room is a bit small

Très bel hôtel extraordinairement bien situé. Large terrasse avec spa et sauna et vue imprenable sur le glacier. Restaurant excellent lui aussi avec vue, décidément! Chambre propre et fonctionnelle avec tout l’équipement attendu. Seul bémol: la chambre est franchement petite pour un hôtel de ce standing… Sinon, globalement, très agréable séjour en famille.

We were assigned room 101 which is the corner family suite. The room gets a lot of sun in the evening and unfortunately, there are only two very small windows that open partially. The net effect is a room that feels like a sauna. We complained to the front desk immediately upon checking in, but they refused to move us to another room. Their technician was not on site and ended coming to our room 5 hours after we checked in at 10pm only to tell us that there was nothing he could do. The thermostat control was set for 18 degrees C, but the room at 10pm was 24 degrees C. The front desk came and inspected the room and agreed that the room was too hot to sleep in. They sent us 3 small USB operated desk fans which were totally ineffective. I guess sometimes compromises need to be made, but at $1,000 per night, I would expect to be able to sleep and not just enjoy the breakfast buffet. If you are traveling during the summer season, and the day is warm, please ensure you are not staying on the side facing the sun in the evening.

Loved everything about this except that there was no way to cool the room down. It got quite hot and made it hard to sleep. There is a tiny window that you could open, but it didn’t drive any real airflow even though it was cold outside. It’s a new, beautiful hotel, and I’d recommend staying, but they need to do something about temperature management in the rooms.

This is undoubtedly one of the finest hotels in Iceland. From the moment you enter, you are greeted by a stunning interior featuring high ceilings and thoughtfully selected eco-friendly materials. The guest rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed, and the bathrooms are equally impressive. The on-site restaurant offers exceptional cuisine, making for a truly memorable dining experience.

By far the best hotel we stayed at on our trip! You get the benefit of being close to the diamond beach and other great stops, having a restaurant in the building, and the perfect spa-like experience with their hot tubs and outdoor sauna! We also got to see the northern lights during our stay. The staff was even kind enough to give us call to let us know when there was a good view of the northern lights. 10/10 experience

This hotel staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Very clean facilities and room. The most comfortable beds, which we so needed after the 5 hour drive from Reykjavik. Loved everything about this property.

La décoration est soignée et faite avec beaucoup de goût. La chambre est superbe, impeccable, confortable. Le restaurant propose de bons plats et son personnel est au top. Je n’ai pas pu essayer les jacuzzis extérieurs car j’avais trop froid mais ils avaient beaucoup de succès auprès des plus téméraires que moi. Je recommande sans hésitation cet établissement qui est situé non loin du glacier et des activités.

Front desk staff were cold and not helpful. The facility is pricey unless you use the facilities- hot tub, etc.

Had someone at reception that wasn’t super friendly but the property is so beautiful and luxurious. The rooms were clean and well appointed. Loved this hotel! Pricey but worth it

Our stay at Hotel Jokulsarlon was amazing! The staff, food and location were all fantastic. I am so happy that we choose to stay there.

The hotel staff was very accommodating. They notified people of the northern lights and even provided super glue for a pair of broken glasses.

The property is stunning, clean & has amazing decor. Unfortunately, the housekeeping stole my wife’s earrings. Our own fault for leaving them in the bathroom then checking out. But the attitude of the gentleman at the reception desk was poor when we returned.

Great property 10 minutes from Glacier Lagoon, with an amazing view of the Jökulsárlón glacier.

This hotel is beautiful. The view of the glacier is stunning. Very close drive to the glacier lagoon and other great places to stop hike or see some awesome views. Breakfast at restaurant was good, dinner was expensive. Hard to find other food options in the area. This hotel is a dream and I do hope to come back one day

An excellent stay in glacier lagoon hotel. It’s just off route 1. Staff are amazing and very close to lot of activities. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling on the south coast of Iceland.

Beautiful hotel and views. Dinner was the worst thing, but we went to a nearby hotel for dinner on our second night and it was the best meal! Breakfast at the hotel was awesome! And the bartenders…outstanding!!!
