Very dissatisfied with this motel. Booked Ocean view, got to stare at the nasty pool. Bed were terrible, uncomfortable and small. This was my 2nd year there 1st year was good, but not this one. Very Disappointed! Will not go back.

It did what it needed to. Shower and a dry place to sleep. Unless you slept in the front porch area. We sat out it in to watch the storm that rolled in. Water leaked under the door and the ceiling out there leaked. The maids left a cute little envelope for tips on the fridge… that was placed under the list of things that the guest needed to do before check out. If I’m not mistaken, that was a list of things that the maid do everywhere else I have ever stayed. We ate 3 meals there and put all the dishes in the dish washer. So when we went to run it after it was all loaded. It became very apparent that the dishwasher didn’t work, and probably hasn’t worked in a very long time. And with a $50 fee for not doing the items on the check out list. There I was at 3 in the morning hand washing dishes. It’s not like I’m saying that there was some building roped off and probably shouldn’t be entered, or the beach front building/rooms you could literally fish off the deck cuz the waves go right up to the stilts that are holding the place up…. Oh wait. That’s all true too. But the fish cleaning station is present and worked great. But all in all. It’s the OBX, it’s suppose to be an adventure. It got the job done. And for the right price, I’d probably stay there again. (Lower price that is)

This Motel has been in existence for many years and is currently undergoing some repairs/remodeling. Overall, the rooms were very clean and neat, with fridge and microwave. Location was right next to the beach, some units overlook the ocean. Compared to other locations, room rates were very reasonable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

There was a roach in the silverware, hardly any amenities, the staff was just a bunch of kids maybe 16 or 17. Its close to the beach, maybe too close! The layout was okay. They want you to clean your own room, threaten you with charges if you don't, but there is a maid service tip envelope on the same paper. For what? No. The best description is lazy. The buildings are good though.

Check in was easy, was going to be later than the check in times posted. Was informed that there was sand piles in the parking lot(understandable with the recent storm). But was not expecting the beach in front of the room to be GONE and the water right against the porch. It was extremely loud. With the other houses going into the ocean it made my son feel uneasy as myself being alone with two children. The room was clean but had a smell to it I assume recent panel replacements in the room. To ease my child I felt the need to leave so he felt safe. I understood paying for the room for that night as we had been in the room and taken our bags in. But there was no option to return money for the other night I was to stay and didn’t. I’d understand if it was under other circumstances but I was never informed of the water issue and to be out hundreds is mind blowing. Never had me sign anything else. Never gave a receipt. Nothing. I’m so disappointed and upset. But my kids feeling and safty comes first. I won’t be booking here again.

An awesome getaway place with great views!! Everyone was so kind very clean and well kept!! Due to Mother Nature there is no physical "beach access" but your actually staying right on the sand. Clean well kept pool, hot tub and kiddie pool!!! Very homey place, very private enclosed balconies and walking distance to food and some shops. I plan to go back very soon!!!

No tv all night, called about it not working and they said they were sending someone and no one came. Also there were cockroaches, I brought it to their attention and even brought one in a jar to show them. They said oh is just a palmetto but they’re not roaches. I’m sorry if you google it then you will find out they are roaches. Yuck!

I originally got the ocean view with the 2 queen beds in one room. Once we got there we requested to upgrade. Best choice to make. It was literally next door but had two rooms with 2 beds in each room a queen & twin! Full living room and kitchen area. The view was breathtaking! The most beautiful place I’ve been in a year. I will def return.

This hotel is very dated and looks like it. The room never cooled off even with the air conditioner set at 75 degrees the room never went below 77 degrees. We opened what windows we could and that made it comfortable. Out of 7 window 1 had a undamaged screen, 4 had no screens, 2 had rips and hole in them. 2 of the windows we couldn’t open or they fell out. We had to empty our own garbage and exchange our dirty towels for clean ones, by going to the office. The room was okay, but is in need of some professional repair work and updating. Some work has been done to it but it wasn’t done right. All in all it was tolerable, but the complex sure could use some professional repairs and clean up. We wouldn’t recommend it or stay again.

Chambre en bordure de route très passante et bruyante alors que j'avais choisi une chambre côté océan. Pas de rideaux ni de volets, mais des stores très fins et cassés. Nous avons demandé une réparation mais ça n'a pas été fait.

This wonderful little mom and Pop hotel is perfect! It is just the right amount of quirky, old school beach house, and relaxing comfort. We received an unexpected upgrade last minute and could not be more grateful.

No tv all night, called about it not working and they said they were sending someone and no one came. Also there were cockroaches, I brought it to their attention and even brought one in a jar to show them. They said oh is just a palmetto but they’re not roaches. I’m sorry if you google it then you will find out they are roaches. Yuck!

Don't book through 3rd party because front desk here will not work with you at all on changing dates of stay, etc. Also, you have to clean your own room including taking out all the trash or get fined.

Chambre en bordure de route très passante et bruyante alors que j'avais choisi une chambre côté océan. Pas de rideaux ni de volets, mais des stores très fins et cassés. Nous avons demandé une réparation mais ça n'a pas été fait.

Check in was easy, was going to be later than the check in times posted. Was informed that there was sand piles in the parking lot(understandable with the recent storm). But was not expecting the beach in front of the room to be GONE and the water right against the porch. It was extremely loud. With the other houses going into the ocean it made my son feel uneasy as myself being alone with two children. The room was clean but had a smell to it I assume recent panel replacements in the room. To ease my child I felt the need to leave so he felt safe. I understood paying for the room for that night as we had been in the room and taken our bags in. But there was no option to return money for the other night I was to stay and didn’t. I’d understand if it was under other circumstances but I was never informed of the water issue and to be out hundreds is mind blowing. Never had me sign anything else. Never gave a receipt. Nothing. I’m so disappointed and upset. But my kids feeling and safty comes first. I won’t be booking here again.

An awesome getaway place with great views!! Everyone was so kind very clean and well kept!! Due to Mother Nature there is no physical "beach access" but your actually staying right on the sand. Clean well kept pool, hot tub and kiddie pool!!! Very homey place, very private enclosed balconies and walking distance to food and some shops. I plan to go back very soon!!!

I love the Outer Banks Motel and used to stay there 15 - 16 years ago. However, now it needs some upgrading. Supposedly we had the coolest room in the motel (Room B) but we were very hot, and it was only in May! The HVAC needs some work! Also this dear place needs to install a better toilet in Room B. The tiny toilet there is probably 30 years old. It is coming loose from its mooring and you feel like you are going to get bucked off! That was even after the maintenance man came in and worked on it too! The room was nicely decorated and the small fully equipped kitchen is very nice with full-size refrig. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have had erosion problems which made it impossible for me to get down to the beach, but they had already started working on it, hauling in truckloads of sand. I love the lady who is the 97 year old owner of motel!

Easy check in at 5pm. Room was fine except TV didn't work first night but next morning the maintenance guy fixed TV access. Very convenient location for fishing the OBX.
