Convenient location and big room

Excellent location with balcony overlooking the city, bay and Marina. Excellent breakfast. Room was a very good size and comfortableand cleaning staff retained excellent standards. Only downside was the restaurant backyard was closed and is now a completely different restaurant. The hotel advised me that it had been relocated the day before I was due to fly. They offer a few of the dishes from the backyard menu out by the swimming pool but not the whole menu. Also the pool eating area closes at 8pm and there is no one else within the hotel to get a drink from after 8.There are plenty of eating places nearby and my favourite was Miss Chief Asian tapas. I did try the new backyard and was surprised for a 5 star hotel that the pizza came in a box. Not 5 star dining

We loved the Shanghai-La! The staff was wonderful, the rooms are clean and large , great location - a few minutes walk to the Esplanade!
