Overall I give it a good rating . Start with the positive: friendly staff , great location and they made my check in easy . The negative would be : the rooms and some facilities like pool and gym are a bit tired and in need of some renovation. Because I went during high demand I also paid up for the room. I liked the daily chocolate fondue hour . I think the Swiss should invest some money in upgrades for rooms though, especially since it is their brand. Note that hair conditioner and skin moisturizer is not included . Not a big deal but usually something you get at an upper tier hotel . The complimentary water was appreciated.

Great rates, helpful staff especially for a non-native speaker. Located near restaurants, street market, live music, thai boxing, michelin star restaurants, and other retail stores. Property is clean, well maintained, with pool, gym, and an ample breakfast offering. Would certainly go again.

Ok hotel with a good location. It's not a 4-start hotel though, more like a 3+. The staff was very nice, breakfast was great and the pool are was nice. Walking distance (25 minutes to old town). The room was spacious and comfortable, but it had a dusty and mouldy smell. When we told the reception, they came and sprayed something which didn't really solve the problem. It was also very hard to turn the lights on and off, and internet connection was unstable some days. This hotel is very old, and could really need some renovations.

Excellent location right by the night bazaar. Lots of international food options everywhere. The breakfast buffet has good options. Did not try the other hotel restaurant but it looked pretty popular and has good prices. The outdoor pool deck is very nice and has an outdoor bar. The pool is non-heated so kinda chilly. The room was totally fine. Nice bathroom. Overall wonderful stay.

My room was assigned to B330 with an indoor window towards the hallway in between towers, but the desk receptionist kindly and gratefully changed it to B533 with a window for partial sunlight upon my request. Despite the overall great hospitality of hotel staff, the hotel cannot resist the touches of time - old and out of date, except the lobby:) However, I will definitely choose this hotel again thanks to the exceptional proximity to Chiangmai night bazzare - not near but in the center of it.

All in all. I always have a great experience at the hotel. The staff are polite. The rooms are very clean. The only small downside is that the gym area is needs a bit cleaning. However, I can’t praise the hotel overall!!!!

Excellent location in the heart of the night market area. Hotel has been recently refurbished, so it looks very nice on the inside. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Staff service is exceptional, pleasant, and helpful.

Disappointing Stay at Mövenpick Chiang Mai – Not Worth the Brand Our Monday–Saturday stay was underwhelming from the start. No early check-in or late check-out was available, and our first room in Block C felt damp, old, and poorly maintained. The air conditioning was extremely loud, the bathroom looked untouched for years, and there were stains and grime that made the room feel dirty—far below Mövenpick standards. After complaining, the night manager agreed to move us, but only the next day and without any refund, credit, or gesture of goodwill. The new room in Block A was better—still just “okay,” but at least acceptable since our booking was non-refundable. We were told Block B is similar to Block C, which says enough about the overall condition. If you stay here, avoid non-refundable rates and insist on Block A regardless of room grade, as the “grades” seem to refer more to layout than quality. For what we paid, we could have stayed at a much nicer hotel in Nimman at the same category. It was also obvious that tour groups were placed in Blocks B and C, making those areas feel like lower-tier accommodations. Overall, this stay was disappointing, uncomfortable, and not worthy of the Mövenpick name.

Staff is nice at the location, however worst 5 star hotel ever. Do not book here, pictures are fake. Bathroom is outdated and dirty. Pictures of bathroom on Expedia is not their hotel. Room also doesn’t look like on Expedia. Complained to the manager and they admit it’s not their photos. They said it would be taken off but it’s still there. We left early and had to pay for another hotel that’s much cleaner.

Have stayed before, rooms are huge and comfortable, the only let down is the WC!!! if you are over 6ft you could have trouble as it's placed so close to wall you could bang your knees and your head.. Breakfast costs 290bht and has an excellent selection. Location is good, perfect for the night market.

Room was in good condition, and well kept, but the 1970s kept calling for a return of the design and layout. The hard wired central control instead of normal switches was completely off putting, I could not plug in chargers or accessories without leaving the light plug on. Probably the only hotel in Thailand where 2 single beds were hard nailed with a FIXED credenza in the middle. Mattress was too soft (typical of accors tho’).

Loved the hotel and staff, easy to walk to restaurants and night market. Just didn’t like the table-top panel that controlled all lights and outlets in the room, our phones didn’t charge the first night, the next night we kept one wall of outlets “on” and just unplugged the lamps to sleep. We also unknowingly pushed the button to decline housekeeping for the day. A quick tutorial would have been nice. Otherwise great property.
