Outdated interior and old, smelly wall-to-wall carpets, gym (fitness room) is a tiny and narrow room squeezed with some equipment, barely space to use anything. Breakfast is ok, good standard. Staff is friendly.

The front of the hotel is very modern looking, which is disappointing because the part of the city it is in has an old feel about it. When you walk in the staff are very friendly and checking in is really fast and efficient. We had a room with a canal view and the quality of the room was fantastic. The building it occupies was clearly an old warehouse and they have done a lot to make it charming and authentic. The timber in the high ceiling is exposed, and they have done a lot of work with the decor. There are charming metal poles (obviously in their existing support places) holding up the ceiling, just adding to the warehouse feel. The rooms are cleaned daily and are well maintained. There is a sauna which is available to use for a fee. We did not eat at the hotel. Hotel food trends to carry a small premium, EUR22pp for breakfast is not cheap and there are many eateries near by where you can taste the local cuisine for less.

Very convenient location with well sized room. Nice breakfast Room was very dark and housekeeping was woefully lacking. The rock hard bed was sloppily made, the glasses had lip marks from previous user. Came back one day at 1:30 and another at 2:30 and room hadn’t been made up.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel, das ganz zentral liegt; das Personal ist freundlich, das Frühstück gut, die Zimmer sauber und geräumig; der Frühstücksraum oben mit Dachterrasse bietet einen schönen Blick auf die Stadt; der Blick war allerdings getrübt wegen einer großen Baustelle in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft;

Mooi centraal gelegen Hotel. Onze premium kamer was ruim, stil en goed. Het had iets schoner gekund en het handdoekrekje had gerepareerd moeten zijn. Ontbijt is heel goed met ruime keus. Personeel heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Zimmer wurde zweimal nicht gereinigt, und dass bei vier Tagen Aufenthalt. Duschbad mussten wir deshalb an der Rezeption holen. Dafür gab es Shampoo und Bodylotion im Überfluss, Wir mussten außerdem unser Zimmer wechseln, weil die Klimaanlage defekt war, es tropfte auf den Teppichboden. Nett wäre eine Entschuldigung gewesen oder sogar ein Drink aufs Haus. Ansonsten war unser Aufenthalt ok.

Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Ghent River Hotel. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom was also large. Points were taken away for cleanliness because of some cobwebs that were above the bed and sink. I was also taken aback by stored luggage being left by the front entrance- easy for anyone to take. However, overall I would recommend the Ghent River Hotel and I'm sure a view of the river would have made this hotel even more grand,

It was an easy walk to the sites. Overlooking the canal. We were on the second floor, and the dinning room wss above us. Very loud in the morning as well as could here the people in the next room. No cable so no watching any late night movie

Helt fantastiskt stort rum med både dubbelsäng och enkelsäng för mig och min dotter! Kaffekapslar varje dag, badrock och tofflor ingick också. Suverän frukost med mycket att välja emellan. Gott kaffe i maskinen. Mycket trevlig turkisk (?) familj som skötte allt. Utsikten var inte så vacker med hus som höll på att restaureras. Låg på en lugn gata nära till torget med restauranger och sevärdheter. Hade en mycket trevlig vistelse i Gent. Ett tips är att ta tåget i ca 1 h till Brugge! Sååå mysig stad med kullersten och massor att utforska! Testa olika ölsorter. Köp även med lite god Belgisk choklad.

The room AC was not running properly . Couldn’t sleep it was very hot . Next day they provided us with fan . The room temperature remained at 75 constant .Do not visit this place .Air-condition duct and airflow is very little .Controlled by the staff in the main floor . Breakfast was very good . The whole purpose is to have a good night sleep . Not in this hotel .

Junior suite donker door het gebrek aan ramen in de kamer waar licht daar naar binnen kan komen. Beetje een donkere zolderkamer Alle suites zouden aan het water liggen dit is echter niet het geval. Koffie machine op de kamer werkt niet goed, koffie is zeer slecht. Voor een avond stappen en alleen hier te slapen perfecte locatie. Ontbijt is goed.

We arrived to find the AC wasn’t working and construction activity was going on right next door! Staff were very helpful but there was little they could do. Hotel boss was going to call/write us ….he has yet to do so.

Prettig verblijf, locatie is top. Echter de service bij het uitchecken rondom slecht. Pasje ingeleverd, waarbij de enige vraag was of we wat uit de minibar genuttigd hadden, zo niet een fijne dag. De vraag of alles naar wens is geweest was blijkbaar teveel.

Booked a room with a double and two singles, but got downgraded to a room with just a double. The hotel management were rude and did not sort the issue and refused a partial refund for the difference between the more expensive room and the cheaper room they provided. Apparently we "should have been grateful for the amazing rate we got" . 😂😂😂.

Our room was upgraded to a suit in the old part of the hotel. The room was very spacious but quite dark. Check in was a challenge as although we had booked a B&B rate reception was adamant that our booking was room only. Luckily the app showed breakfast was included and they eventually accepted it. Breakfast had a good selection but was very busy. The hotel has a central location Nice big bathroom

Mooi centraal gelegen Hotel. Onze premium kamer was ruim, stil en goed. Het had iets schoner gekund en het handdoekrekje had gerepareerd moeten zijn. Ontbijt is heel goed met ruime keus. Personeel heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

The front of the hotel is very modern looking, which is disappointing because the part of the city it is in has an old feel about it. When you walk in the staff are very friendly and checking in is really fast and efficient. We had a room with a canal view and the quality of the room was fantastic. The building it occupies was clearly an old warehouse and they have done a lot to make it charming and authentic. The timber in the high ceiling is exposed, and they have done a lot of work with the decor. There are charming metal poles (obviously in their existing support places) holding up the ceiling, just adding to the warehouse feel. The rooms are cleaned daily and are well maintained. There is a sauna which is available to use for a fee. We did not eat at the hotel. Hotel food trends to carry a small premium, EUR22pp for breakfast is not cheap and there are many eateries near by where you can taste the local cuisine for less.

Het ligt in het centrum lekker centraal. Mijn kamer 211 was vreselijk rumoerig. Het ligt naast een jongerencentrum waar ze de hele dag basketballen en het geluid weerkaatst nogal tussen de muren (doodlopend straatje).. En in het weekend ligt er een kroeg in de buurt waar heel veel herrie vanaf komt. Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Uitgebreid en heerlijk ontbijt.

Such a great spot to us as a base to explore the old part of Gent. An old cotton mill, you can feel the history surrounding you. A few minutes walk from the thriving riverside and only 10 mins from all of the major attractions. Ghent Card well worth the money too.

Excellente découverte de la ville de Gand, ses rivières,ses balade en bateau,ses monuments magnifiques et une très bonne cuisine. Notre hôtel était parfait petit déjeuner vraiment bien.

Helt fantastiskt stort rum med både dubbelsäng och enkelsäng för mig och min dotter! Kaffekapslar varje dag, badrock och tofflor ingick också. Suverän frukost med mycket att välja emellan. Gott kaffe i maskinen. Mycket trevlig turkisk (?) familj som skötte allt. Utsikten var inte så vacker med hus som höll på att restaureras. Låg på en lugn gata nära till torget med restauranger och sevärdheter. Hade en mycket trevlig vistelse i Gent. Ett tips är att ta tåget i ca 1 h till Brugge! Sååå mysig stad med kullersten och massor att utforska! Testa olika ölsorter. Köp även med lite god Belgisk choklad.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel, das ganz zentral liegt; das Personal ist freundlich, das Frühstück gut, die Zimmer sauber und geräumig; der Frühstücksraum oben mit Dachterrasse bietet einen schönen Blick auf die Stadt; der Blick war allerdings getrübt wegen einer großen Baustelle in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft;

Nous avons louer une suite junior , au début j ai été très déçu car la chambre ne correspondait pas du tout aux photos , car il y a un très jolie bâtiment ancien et un autre plus ressent avec bcp moins de cachet . Mais comme nous y passions 2 nuit , le personnel a été très sympathique et nous trouvé la chambre désirée pour la 2 eme nuit , le buffet du petit déjeuner est très complet et très bon .

L’emplacement en centre ville a permis tous nos déplacements à pied. Les espaces sont plutôt grands dans la structure. La salle du petit déjeuner est accueillante et ouverte sur la rivière.

Hotel was great, room was clean and presentable. Air-conditioning was a welcome relief during the summer.. Breakfast is really worth it as well. Parking is close by in the public car park with EV charging

We expected a great experience from our stay, but left underwhelmed The location is great The room is original and nice and breakfast was good What was underwhelming? The bar was behind the reception desk, not a nice and relaxing feel The shower soap was empty after one shower When visiting the toilet, it was to cramp for my wife, let alone me, a very average height person River view, yes, if you try and are tall Toilet smelled as it took odor of other toilets in the hotel Lights in bathroom are poor and there is no air circulation in the bathroom The clothes closet in the room is rather hard to open and close And when we left and they asked how did you enjoy your stay, our answer was, underwhelming Their response, ah yeah

The hotel room was modern with excellent shower in the bathroom The gym and sauna have not been renovated and the gym equipment works but is old and limited with only one pair of dumbbells with a small selection of weights to go on them Very central to the old town and lots of restaurants, only 5 minutes walk or less
