I stayed at Artefes Hotel Old City in 4July 2025 for 5 nights. The only positive thing was its location — close to the sea and tourist sites in Sultanahmet. Everything else was truly disappointing. The breakfast was terrible. Every single day, it was exactly the same poor-quality items. Since we couldn’t eat boiled eggs, we asked for an omelet or fried eggs, but they rudely said “we don’t have that.” The bread was dry, and some vegetables were clearly spoiled. When we complained, the staff replied, “Well, you didn’t pay for breakfast,” which was absolutely false — we had booked a room with breakfast. The room was tiny, awkwardly designed, and the TV was mounted sideways, not even facing the bed. It was hard to move around the room without hitting the walls or the shower. The elevator was also extremely small — just for one person. There was no real lobby — nowhere to sit, relax, or have a coffee or tea after coming in from outside. The customer service was weak and the staff had a cold and uninterested attitude. It didn’t feel like hospitality at all. Overall, I deeply regret choosing this hotel. The service was exceptional, after arriving at 01.00 hrs with traffic delays, meals were arranged through a take out service and served on plates together with wine on the beatifull rooftop terrace overlooking the Bospurus. Handy locatiob to many of the attractions in Istanbull. We will be back for a number of days again next year

Hôtel très bien situé a 2 pas de la Mosquée bleue et de Sainte Sophie, dans un quartier vivant. Le petit déjeuner était copieux mais manquait de fruits. Le rooftop offre une très belle vue sur la Bosphore. Je recommande cet hôtel pour y passer quelques jours.

Buena ubicación, muy cercana a los sitios de interés. El personal muy amable y servicial. Desayuno sencillo pero acorde al precio que se paga. Bonita terraza para tomar el desayuno. El aire acondicionado funcionó perfectamente. La parte negativa es que el estado general del hotel no es el más optimo, necesita mejorar el mantenimiento, sobre todo en los baños de las habitaciones, cerraduras de puertas. La limpieza de los baños deficiente, grifería en mal estado. Precio acorde a lo que recibes.

Very nice view of Sea of Marmara near entrance to the Bosporus. But noise from the bar and restaurant directly above kept me awake until 04:00. And jacuzzi bathtub advertised in the Hotels.com listing could not be used because of leaks (it appears this was a long-term problem).

Schöne Aussicht von der Dachterrasse. Sehr hellhörige Zimmer. Frühstuckauswahl nicht ausreichend. Gute Lage, viele Sehenswürdigkeiten, Bazar, Straßenbahn zu Fuß erreichbar. Allgemein, der erste Eindruck vom Hotel war ausreichend und die erste Nacht, wie am Bahnhof wg. hellhörigen Wänden. Nachdem ich mich beschwert habe, haben wir ein anderes Zimmer bekommen, auf einem anderen Stockwerk und am Ende des Ganges, dort war es viel ruhiger.

La ubicacion es excelente, a unos minutos de las atracciones principales de Estambu, ademas que el area es muy segura y hay muchos restaurantes, cafeterias, y tienditas al rededor, La habitacion que reservamos (Junior Suit) tiene muy buen tamaño con vista al mar.. muy agradable... Podrian mejorar el desayuno bufet pero igual esta bien... si regreso si me quedaria de nuevo en este hotel.

We booked double bed room for 6 nights. It was quite a small room. No table,chair or luggage desk for suitcases. We couldnt lock the door from inside, it was temporarily fixed in second day. We could hear all the noise coming from the street. Shower was broken, even asked 3 times but still not fixed . Shower drainage was bloked and not fixed at all..Breakfast was very poor, no butter, no fruit were available,even asked and they wouldnt provide it for anybody...

The hotel is near the main attractions. The staff are very nice and helpful. The triple room is spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is delicious and the rooftop is amazing! Overall we enjoyed our stay very much!

Não tive problema com acomodação apenas com a recepção de dois rapazes que parecem inexperientes! Parecem q queriam forçar para que eu pagasse em dinheiro ao invés de card! Het hotel zit op een hele goede locatie. We werden warm onthaald. Helaas was dit niet het hele verblijf zo. Als we langs de receptie liepen werden we niet eens gedag gezegd of de receptionist zat buiten op een stoel te roken. Er was 1 receptionist die wel telkens erg vriendelijk was. Verwacht geen luxe, het hotel is basic. De schoonmaak kan beter, vooral in deze tijd. Midden in de nacht kwam het personeel met nieuwe gasten onze kamer binnen. Wij schrokken hier heel erg van want we lagen gewoon te slapen. Gelukkig hadden we het pinnetje van het slot erop zodat niet de hele deur open ging. In de ochtend vertelde we dit bij de receptie en toen hoorde we dat het personeelslid de verkeerde kamer had. Heel onprofessioneel en slecht.

Some staff extremely polite, while a few rude. Breakfast hours were 8-10 am. I finished my breakfast at 10 am and went to get coffee. The staff shut the coffee machine. I asked him to let me have the coffee. His response was “we close at 10”. I told him that it’s not I was asking them to brew a fresh carafe, it’s just a machine that dispenses instant coffee. But he was inflexible and rude. Other staff was polite. They helped us putting our suitcases in our ride

La situación del hotel es buenísima, a 5 minutos del Hipódromo. La habitación muy bien, la calle muy tranquila, el desayuno variado y muy rico, el personal muy amable. Lo recomendaría a todo el mundo, sin duda yo volvería.

About 50 minutes from the airport (~$40) by taxi. Location is very convenient, walking distance to main attractions. The hotel is very clean and conveniently located. Staff is friendly. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is awesome and you can go upstairs to have it in the patio overlooking the water. Would definitely recommend and come back if travels bring us back there.

I stayed at Artefes Hotel Old City in 4July 2025 for 5 nights. The only positive thing was its location — close to the sea and tourist sites in Sultanahmet. Everything else was truly disappointing. The breakfast was terrible. Every single day, it was exactly the same poor-quality items. Since we couldn’t eat boiled eggs, we asked for an omelet or fried eggs, but they rudely said “we don’t have that.” The bread was dry, and some vegetables were clearly spoiled. When we complained, the staff replied, “Well, you didn’t pay for breakfast,” which was absolutely false — we had booked a room with breakfast. The room was tiny, awkwardly designed, and the TV was mounted sideways, not even facing the bed. It was hard to move around the room without hitting the walls or the shower. The elevator was also extremely small — just for one person. There was no real lobby — nowhere to sit, relax, or have a coffee or tea after coming in from outside. The customer service was weak and the staff had a cold and uninterested attitude. It didn’t feel like hospitality at all. Overall, I deeply regret choosing this hotel. We booked double bed room for 6 nights. It was quite a small room. No table,chair or luggage desk for suitcases. We couldnt lock the door from inside, it was temporarily fixed in second day. We could hear all the noise coming from the street. Shower was broken, even asked 3 times but still not fixed . Shower drainage was bloked and not fixed at all..Breakfast was very poor, no butter, no fruit were available,even asked and they wouldnt provide it for anybody...

Hôtel très bien situé a 2 pas de la Mosquée bleue et de Sainte Sophie, dans un quartier vivant. Le petit déjeuner était copieux mais manquait de fruits. Le rooftop offre une très belle vue sur la Bosphore. Je recommande cet hôtel pour y passer quelques jours.

Maravilhosa, bem perto de sulthanahmet e de transporte público. Limpeza impecável e eles trocavam as toalhas todos os dias e também fazem a limpeza, além de oferecer várias atrações e passeios locais. Café da manhã bem sortido e farto. 100% recomendado.

The location of this hotel is excellent, minutes away from main sites. The staff are friendly, especially Ozgur! We highly recommend this place. The views from the rooftop are amazing day or night. We'll stay here again in a heart beat.

Ozgur was very friendly and professional with us as well as the all the personal in the hotel. AC works very well. Cleaning on the room was well donde every day. Very well located, minutes away walking from Sultanhmet Tran Stop. Perfect if you plan to have a delicious breakfast and leave the whole day discovering Istanbul.

Beautiful rooftop terrace which was free to use for hotel guests unlike other hotels in the area. Close to the Havaist bus stop to and from IST airport. 12 minute walk to Tram station and 10 minute walk to Blue Mosque. Very kind staff and great Turkish breakfast
