Tanjung Rhu Resort

First time at this fabulous resort. Can only highly recommend it especially for families but equally nice for couples. Great idea to have a large family pool on one side and an equally large adult only pool on the other side of the resort. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. An example is how they want their way to get gluten free flour at short to be able to provide me with gluten free bread. Every body greats you with a smile. Rooms are very spacious and can accommodate children in separate parts of the room. Will definitely come back here again soon.

Super schönes Reaort ! Erholung pur! Sehr ruhig gelegen mit zwei riesengrossen Pool ein Adult only bereich und ein Normaler pool ! Der Strand wird immer gereinigt und eignet sich super zum Baden! Kann das Hotel nur empfehlen!

Fantastic beach front hotel, rooms were huge and well maintained, it had two pools, both of which were 40-50 meters long and very clean. The beach which this hotel is located on is very nice and quiet. Restaurants in the hotel very good also. Not much else around so you will need transport if you want to go anywhere else.

Tanjung Rhu Resort is located in a dream spot. Absolutely stunning private beach with beautiful sunsets. Beautifully maintained garden and lovely pool areas (separate pool for adults only which is ideal for a couple). Very attentive and friendly staff really made us feel welcome and taken care off. Dinner options not very exciting but great selection for breakfast. We absolutely loved our stay and would come back any time over the more ‘highly rated’ places in the west of the island where we’ve stayed as well.

This hotel is located on a beautiful beach, perfect for swimming. It's almost a private beach as there are no other resorts/ restaurants in the area. The piano music and bubbly served at breakfast made it special. The rooms are on 3 levels without a lift but the staff helps with luggage. The dinners are a bit quiet . Some live music would be great.

I liked the amazing beach, no single-use plastics, expansive pools. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and clean. The hotel also offered a lot of complimentary activities, especially for kids, which were very thoughtful. For improvement, the hotel can consider more environmentally friendly practices, such as reducing boating activities around sensitive mangroves, not feeding wildlife or offering tours that feed wildlife (eagles, monkeys, squirrels), and improving wait times for meals and using more healthy ingredients for meals (e.g., less salt).

We had a decent stay at Tanjung Rhu Resort - you get what you pay for. Would unfortunately not classify the hotel as a five star, but completely OK. Both my wife and I cut our feet in the pool, so they started bleeding profusely. The ground in the pool is made of a stone/concrete mixture which makes it extremely sharp in many places. We unfortunately stopped swimming after this happened.

Lovely location and lush green setting. Hotel itself is a little tired but very well maintained and looks like being updated. Room and amenities were still lovely and spacious. Sunset BBQ dinner was great and the pools are very nice.

There are also a couple of boutique shops selling quality souvenirs and essentials. The private beach is well maintained and the sea very clean and warm. The resort team are the icing on the cake, so professional, attentive and well-mannered. Definitely a must for those looking for a luxurious and relaxing break from city life.

Staff were polite and hospitable. Food was great. Easy access to the beach. Lovely swimming pools. Spotless. Would recommend to anyone and would love to return.

Enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Great beach area and spectacular views. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Facilities were good. Beach away from the resort could use a clean up from washed up debris.

Access to the beach was good and the garden was also nice. One thing I was disappointed about is the smell of the bathroom and water quality of the bathtub. The bathroom always smelled like sewage and the smell came all over the room . And the closer of water in bathtub was brown.

Wunderschön. Anlage top gepflegt und sauber. Zwei riesige Pools und ein endlos langer, sehr schöner Strand. Restaurants mit guter Auswahl. Sehr ruhig. Anlage sehr harmonisch gestaltet. Eine richtige Wohlfühlatmosphäre.

Hotel has a great location and ambience, spoilt by service, restaurant and poor maintenance of the beach. Pros… - Great ambience - quiet location - comfortable room Cons… - Claim to have 3 restaurants, but they all serve the same food, which is quite ordinary for a claimed 5 star. - Lousy restaurant service from staff that don’t seem to care ( got orders wrong on 2 separate occasions & didn’t seem to be concerned. - Great beach which appears to be clean when seen from the hotel. However, tidal area covered with rubbish that hotel staff don’t seemed too concerned to clean up.

First off, the beach and the surrounding area is stunning. Gorgeous beach and bath warm sea. The gardens of the hotel are equally beautiful and very tropical with lily ponds and amazing plants. The pizzas from the pub bar are really good. Sadly all the restaurants are still using plastic straws. Our room was really disappointing. The sofa was broken at the bottom and needed a good clean. The beds were poorly made up with the valences not fitted and hanging off as our stay progressed. There was part of the bath that just needed fitting properly. The shower pressure was non existent with the overhead shower and the tiles needed cleaning properly. When we did an under bed check before leaving there was a previous guest slipper and a ton of dust. We did ask for a room change but were told that non were available even though they were showing on booking sites 5 minutes after arrival we were hassled to book a hotel taxi back to the airport. We hadn’t even been shown to our room yet. We did a later breakfast and had no clue that there was an eggs menu as these were not placed back on the tables for later guests. It was only when I saw scrambled eggs go by that I was offered one. All in all, location and grounds are 5 star, the hotel is an average 4 star and the room condition and cleanliness is 3 star. One thing that was heartbreaking, but absolutely no fault of the hotel, is the number of plastic bottles washed up as you walk further along the beach. There were hundreds.

The bathroom had poor ventilation and a number of small flies always inside somehow. The bedrooms were spacious clean and comfortable. Service at the resort was impeccable. Very friendly. Especially our breakfast hostess Syira, world class hospitality and her sincerity shone throughout.

The property is such a relaxing resort. The staff is top notch and very helpful. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the private beach is a plus, as are the two sculpted swimming pools. The suites are spacious and clean and even the outdoor bathrooms are pretty! My family and I did enjoy our stay. One thing to note is that there are no lifts - we requested a change from a third floor room to one on the ground floor as my mother is elderly, and the front desk staff was able to get us one right away. If you have someone in your group who has mobility challenges, you might want to make the same request. The next morning at breakfast (included in the stay), the executive assistant came to ask if we were satisfied with the room change and if there was anything else we needed. That’s good service!

Wie immer fasse ich mich kurz und knapp: Sehr schöne große Anlage abseits vom Trouble. Wunderschöner Postkarten-Strand Separater Kinder- und Erwachsenen-Pool Immer genügend freie Liegen vorhanden Die Anlage wird immer sauber gehalten, die Gartenanlage ist sehr gepflegt. Es ist immer genügend freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal vor Ort. Das Zimmer ist riesengroß und schön eingerichtet. Warum keine 5-Sterne-Bewertung? Die Anlage ist sehr abgewohnt – und im Gegensatz zur Sauberkeit wird sich nicht um die Instandhaltung gekümmert. Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig – man hört z.B. die außen montierten Klimaanlagen im Zimmer brummen. Solange ihr ruhige Nachbarn habt ist aber alles gut. Und was leider überhaupt nicht ok ist, ist das Frühstück: Billigste Zucker-Säfte, Croissants, die schmecken wie von Gestern, ungekühlte Speisen wie Butter, Mayonnaise und Saucen… Da wir auch deutlich günstigere Hotels in Malaysia besucht haben, wissen wir, dass das deutlich besser geht. Tipp: Holt euch bei Langkawibook einen Mietwagen und erkundet die Insel – das Auto könnt ihr gleich am Flughafen entgegennehmen oder sie bringen es euch ins Hotel. Tipp für deutschsprachige Touristen: Macht eine Mangroven-Tour bei Peter Höfinger.

The hotel looks nothing like the pictures. The pictures have been taken 20 years ago. Almost every piece of furniture is chipped, or broken, rooms are incredibly basic. Our room- tv didn’t work, nothing in the mini bar, old thread towels, air conditioning could not below 24 degrees, walls heavily market, windows required cleaning, every piece of furniture had stains. A very dirty old hotel.

아이와 함께한 여행이었는데 가족모두 즐겁게 다녀왔습니다. 방 크기가 넓어서 머무르기 편했어요. 수영장은 아이를 위한 미끄럼틀 같은 시설은 없었지만 잘 놀수 있었습니다. 탄중루 비치를 프라이빗하게 즐길 수 있어서 좋았습니다. 다만 에어컨이 제대로 작동하지 않고 숙소가 4층인데 엘리베이터가 없어서 오르내리기 불편했습니다.

Our recent stay in July 2025 at Tanjung Rhu Resort Langkawi was truly exceptional and one of the finest resort experiences we've had as a family. The room was amazing—spotlessly clean, well-furnished, and incredibly comfortable. The front desk team, especially Ms. Fiza, was respectful, humble, and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. There was another gentleman at reception, unfortunately i missed his name. We did face a small concern as there was no lift access to the 3rd floor, which was challenging for our family. Thankfully, Mr. Hakimin from the team was very understanding and quickly arranged a comfortable room on a lower level. His prompt support was much appreciated and showed the resort’s dedication to guest comfort. Breakfast was a highlight each morning, offering a wonderful variety of Malaysian dishes—from freshly baked items to roti canai, custom egg omelets, and more. The entire team at the breakfast hall was warm and attentive. We were especially impressed when the General Manager, Mr. Hafiz, personally visited guest tables to ensure everyone was taken care of—a rare and thoughtful gesture. The pool was another standout experience. It was clean, well-maintained, and perfect for relaxing with our family. In summary, Tanjung Rhu Resort Langkawi provided top-notch service, warm hospitality, and memorable moments throughout our stay. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Langkawi and would love to return in the future.

Some front desk people are not friendly

We stayed for a week. We were a family of 3 generations who all enjoyed the nice atmosphere at the resort. But first of all the staff - great.

Room was amazing, the resort was really peaceful and well maintained with the best views in Langkawi. Staff was really kind and caring. Thank you for a great time.

Lovely resort but some service was not what you would expect . Some were better than others but feel they were understaffed . Also choice of food was limited .

Tanjung Rhu is a truly exceptional five-star resort, perfect for those who appreciate quiet, spacious surroundings, natural beauty, immaculately kept gardens, and personalized care. With views of Thailand across the Andaman Sea, ten days felt far too short. This is an expertly managed, outstanding resort, one we will undoubtedly return to. After three months of travel and work across North America and Asia, it was the perfect place to unwind. Special thanks to Hafiz and his exceptional team, whose hard work, friendliness, and professionalism made our stay truly wonderful. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

Fantastic property, immaculately kept and the staff are wonderfully helpful and nice. The resort is a tropical island and jungle (beautiful, tended garden) paradise, that’s amazing for a quiet, relaxing and peaceful holiday with all the facilities you need. Loved our stay here.

Beautiful grounds, beach and room. Loved our stay and would return. Limited off site eating options and isolated. But it is this solitude that is so special.

Sehr schönes Hotel mit toller Poolanlage. Sehr ruhig gelegen, was einerseits Vorteile hat, andererseits ein bisschen kompliziert wird, wenn man mal raus möchte. Grab funktioniert grundsätzlich, ist aber manchmal etwas schwer, da am äußersten Zipfel der Insel gelegen. Hotel an sich etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber noch ganz gut in Schuss. Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis für Langkawi wahrscheinlich in Ordnung, im Vergleich zum Rest von Malaysia natürlich überzogen. Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

I stayed at this resort with my family, we were wowed the minute we arrived, it’s been our favorite part of the trip. Heaven on earth stunning beach, lovely staff they can’t do enough for you and service with a smile. The only negative thing is it’s far away from everything, hire a car if it’s an issue for you, we managed with taxis. We will definitely be back.

This property is located at the crux of the idyllic spot in the entire Langkawi. This the place where you just want to disappear from everyone else but yet you want to be surrounded by nature's best kept secret.

It is the perfect quiet beach hotel on a really spectacular beach

ビーチ沿いにありビーチを満喫できる。しかし食事がイマイチ。オールデイダイニングのレストランに17:30過ぎに行くとスタッフはだれもいなく探さなければいけなかった。シャンパンとメニューにあるがスパークリングワインしかなかった。

Terrible experience! Had all our meals at the hotel. Severe food poisoning twice during the 2 week stay. We also noticed bad food hygiene multiple times during our stay. Bad response from ignorant Manager. Chef blaming possible allergy. Well.We are medical staff and know the symtoms of food poisoning very well. Service and houskeeping at low standard. Would not recommend to anyone. Will not be back. Well travelled couple!

Overall we had a good experience. The room was good and had all the basic necessities. The property itself is getting a bit outdated. The view on the beach is amazing. The pools are huge which I really liked. The options for food are ok. The quality of the food is below europeans standards. And the possibility to go out for diner require a bit more effort since the resort is very secluded and there is not much in the neighborhood. We enjoyed the nature and the animals around the area. The staff is a hit or miss. Some of them are well trained, others don’t know what they are doing. Which sometimes gives a bit bit of a confusing experience. Overall a very nice place to stay.

Amazing hotel - lovely beach and really good facilities. Happy hour at the pool bar was a bonus. The buffet food was really tasty with a great variety for all tastes. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Planning to come again for a longer stay on a big family vacation, as the resort is perfect for kids and elders.

Nice room, very comfortable beds, food was really tasty and huge choice at breakfast and beach is stunning

Pleasant stay at the resort, it was quiet and close to the beach. Breakfast spread was amazing as well. Limited dining options otherwise for other meal times and not many restaurants or shops around the resort within walking distance, need to take a taxi quite a long way out. The rooms were comfortable, spacious and clean. Some parts of the resort seem to be under construction hence not the most pleasant looking but it didnt affect our stay.The staff were very helpful and reachable. Overall value for money and also recommend if youre looking for a quiet time away from busyness.
